I have a confession to make. I bought Fleur simply because of the bottle! It is such a lovely bottle, when I saw a picture of it in an Avon catalogue I immediately wanted it. At such a cheap price I thought why not? I was expecting another simple, sugary fruity floral. I was in for a nice surprise!
Fleur is a tropical vacation in a bottle. Imagine soft sandy beaches, palm trees swaying in a gentle warm breeze, the relaxing sound of the ocean against the shore. The bottle reminds me of the colors of the sky during a beautiful clear summer sunset. Imagine the breeze carrying the scents of the surrounding areas to you, juicy ripe tropical fruits, an assortment of flowers and a light woody note. This is the journey this fragrance takes me on!
On a more realistic note, Fleur opens with a juicy tropical fruit scent. I can clearly detect the passionflower which gives an interesting twist to this scent. I am sure I detect a hint of pineapple, although it is not listed as one of the notes. I do not smell much mango on my skin, although this seems to be one of the most dominant notes. I am thankful for that though, mango tends to become “sticky” on me and smells like I spilled fruit punch on myself.
The opening is juicy, fresh and sweet but what I enjoy even more about Fleur is the middle notes that begin to peek through after about 20 minutes or so. The floral notes is shy on my skin, occasionally drifting up as if carried from far away on a breeze. I really enjoy the mix of tropical juicyness with soft, delicate floral notes underneath.
The dry down is sweet and still fruity with a lovely woody note that leans a slightly oriental feeling to this otherwise fruity floral.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoy this fragrance. It lasts quite long on me, in our current sweltering hot summer weather. I did not expect such a nice scent for such a cheap price. If you like floral fruity perfumes but are looking for something a bit different from the mainstream sugar laden candied fruit scents, give this one a try. It is a very happy scent to me, truly a holiday in a little bottle!

A good replacement for the discontinued floral-oriental Just Play by Avon. It’s an inexpensive but expressive and quite unusual scent, reminds me of a scented candle that I received 20 years ago from the Near East. It smelled wonderful and both Fleur and Just Play have this wonderful oriental note.
Worth a try, no matter what, especially for this money.

Pet peeve with Fragrantica–this is Flor Alegria in the US, which makes it hard to find in this database. BUT, find it I did and am happy to review it.
It is a fruity floral, but not over the top fruity; I don’t care for fruity fragrances, and found this to be just right for this genre. The mango was rich and bright the first 30 minutes, with an assortment of fruit blossoms; then the floral notes kicked up, a bit of rose and some citrus. After an hour, it was a fruity-floral musk that I swore had a hint of sandalwood (not listed, but there’s an incensy complexity that doesn’t come from just fruit and flowers). It ebbs and flows on my skin; as soon as I think it’s gone, I get another whiff of it, especially walking out into the heat.
It’s not a real heavy hitter, nor is it terribly unique, but I did enjoy it as a very accessible fruity floral. This would be a fun casual weekend away kind of scent.

This is called Flor Alegria in the North American market and it is about to launch. This is a very cheery, fruity fragrance, perfect for summer. It’s for the DKNY Be Delicious & Versace Bright Crystal crowd….for half the price. It will be only $20 at launch, so buy it now.

Not bad at all. Fruity and floral but not as bad or as generic as some. Perfectly reasonable. Not my personal taste, but very pretty and would suit a younger scent buyer.

Beautiful bottle & beautiful juice. One of the prettiest warmest bottles i’ve seen from avon. I’m not dissapointed. It is fruity and juicy at first spray like exploding fruits in boiling hot summer sun, it dries down to a powdery floral faint fruity smell which adds class and character. This is one of the best summer fragrances Avon have released in a while. Mango & Marigold are the top notes i detect, its an interesting mix of classy yet tropical fresh fragrance which is hard to pull off. I love it. Will be perfect for summer BBQs and beach days.
