While evacuating my former place of residence, I found a nearly full 100 ml bottle of Van Cleef and Arpels First pour L’Eté in one of the labyrinthine corridors of my large closet. A sure sign that one has too much perfume: the “discovery” of bottles of completely unknown age and provenance!
To my nose, this flanker bears very little resemblance to its namesake. This is basically a soapy floral aquatic fragrance. It opens more aquatic and dries down more soapily (happily). I suppose that this clean and watery aspect would be more appropriate for summertime than the original, action-packed, animalic First!
