Description
Fireside is a smoky woody comforting fragrance, reminiscent of sitting by the fire on a cool evening. Fireside is softer and sweeter than Fireside Intense, doesn’t consist Agarwood and leather accords.

Fragrance notes: Indian sandalwood, Himalayan cedar, Texas cedar, guaiacwood, nagarmotha (Cyperus), birch tar and myrrh. The fragrance is available in EDP 17 and 34ml. Fireside was launched in 2007.

The Sonoma Scent Studio fragrances are like chapters in a story. Fireside, in my mind, follows on directly from their Winter Woods (not yet added to the database, but which I have been enjoying for some days).
Whereas Winter Woods is, as the name suggests, a frosty hike in a winter wonderland; Fireside is returning home with glowing cheeks, stamping the snow from your boots & snuggling up beside a roaring fire. The woodsmoke clings to your clothes, a comforting smell of Home that beckons to you, wrapping you in a blanket of warm sandalwood.
As with the other Sonoma Scent Studio fragrances I have tried, Fireside is intense, almost overwhelming as the very first notes settle down on the skin. It’s definitely smoky, with faint tangs of fragrant leaves burning and the occasional crackle of birch tar.
This is a beautifully blended perfume that mellows into a warmer, subtle amber type which whispers at the end of summer on the beach, barbeques with friends, a crispness that isn’t so much frost & icicles but a well-chilled glass of Chardonnay. Lovely, and highly recommended for both men & women who favour incense or amber based fragrances!
