Scent – spicy opium intro that continues into a calm amber voyage.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the colder months, during the day.
    Projection – I did get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 12hrs consistently.

This is much drier and spicier than the other amber offering from this line, Ambra Aurea. This also more masculine, the spices and the opium give it an animalic, narcotic feel that is on the masculine end of the spectrum. Unfortunately, this combination of opium and spices gave me a bit of a headache. It is very smooth but intense at the same time, my nose couldn’t handle it. If you, unlike me, can handle this combination then I would recommend this for the colder months. Sillage and longevity are moderate, which is disappointing given its price.

Hi everyone. When i smelled it for the first time, my first impression was sugar. The perfume open with a hypnotic smell I can’t describle exactly what is it, but i suggest it’s white flowers synthetic notes, we have also a combo of amber (not grey amber) with vanillic ,a fine touch a very fine of incense, not comparable to the great fragrance Ambra Avrea. Bark cinnamom here is present giving to the perfume a beautiful spice notes. It’s a hot perfume, nice for the winter.

Light amber and violet stand out but the weak area is sillage and longevity. Not one of my favorites from this house as it becomes a skin scent faitly early, a suprise from this fragrance house. I did get a bottle that seemed an old (white coloring vs, black) as compared to my others from this house so who knows, maybe I got one that’s been sitting around a while…

Starts off sharp but quickly settles into a very warm, cuddly, spicy amber with loads of creamy vanilla (even though it’s not listed) plus an ultra realistic and narcotic opium note. Reminds me of classic spicy heavy hitters but softer, cozier, and more modern. Just started wearing this one but it is quickly becoming an ultimate comfort scent-FB worthy.

This is the profumum scent which is so radically reformulated in the past years, that the actual version has almost nothing to do with the one i used and loved in 2011. Actually they are so different that i think this one should have a dfferent name. I bought both of them at an official retailer, and the earlier version was beautiful, dreamy, sensual and sexy, this new one is a dirty and chemically sweet mess at the opening, and as it dries down its smells even more and more synthetic and smothery. I just dont understand whats going on in the niche perfume industry nowadays, perfect compositions are going wrong and become drogerie-alike with brutal sillage, like in this case, or simply discontinued. Perheps as this section starts to become a very common thing, and loosing its exclusivity by the low-class unofficial online retailers and cheap replicas, it is the next victim of the hunger of the consumer society. Anyway, i feel myself very lucky becouse once i had the true formulation of Fiore d’Ambra.

Just a note: some varieties of poppies do indeed have a scent, and as expected, it’s floral but not sharp like white florals.

Fiore D’Ambra is another great scent from the great house of Profumum Roma. When I read other reviews here I was excited to try out Fiore D’Ambra. I own bottles of both YSL’s Opium and Dana’s iconic Tabu. I get what people are talking about when they compare Fiore D’Ambra with both those fragrances. Fiore D’Ambra does have some notes in common with both. However, Profumum Roma being who they are, would never just copy another perfume. Fiore D’Ambra goes on with a blast of incense, and amber. The other note is supposed to be “opium” but, does that mean poppy flowers, which don’t have any scent, or does that mean real actual narcotic opium, which I have read has a tarry, heavy, greasy smell. I have never smelled real opium myself. But Fiore D’Ambra is another amazing fragrance from PR that goes on strong, then drys down quickly into this dreamy, amber, incense/opium, sweet elixir that just keeps going. At first I was disappointed with the projection and sillage. I almost wanted to return my bottle. Then the next day I sprayed some on, it dried down and I smelled my wrist and had a nice “skin scent”. Then two people in the same day complimented me and I got the “what’s that you’re wearing” question. I couldn’t smell it, but they definitely could. Most of Profumum’s scents are beasts that you really have to be careful not to over do. You will run people out of the room if they don’t like the scent. Fiore D’Ambra is different. It’s what I would call a subtle beast. It’s there even when you think it has dried down to a skin scent. I have received compliments from both men and women on this one. It’s really beautiful and I am definitely addicted to it too. This fragrance is so beautiful that anyone can wear it.

I am having a hard time believing no one else has noticed how much this smells like vintage Dana Tabu. (It has absolutely nothing in common with YSL Opium, and I don’t know why it would be expected to.) It’s soft, very long-lasting and quite linear.

Please take this review with a grain of salt as I have only tested it from a LuckyScent sample, once. I ordered this several months ago after posting a topic looking for an honey-amber fragrance to match a lovely scented shea butter that I use. Out of many suggestions, this was one I chose to try but apparently it got lost in the shuffle of my other samples and I never tried it until last night right before bed.
Enchantment was immediate. Only two tiny dabs on my wrists yielded the most beautiful, flowery, honeyed amber I’ve smelled to date. Creamy and sweet non-medicinal amber is just what I’ve wanted and no other amber can compare. It has a feminine vibe (this is just from the sample, mind you. This morning I awoke with the scent still on my wrists and I am thoroughly smitten. I have to have it! I ordered two more samples just to be certain that it really is all that I desire…but I know that I want the full bottle. I will update when I have it.

I never smelled the original but my sample is from Luckyscent also. After a couple of hours this does not project that well which is a surprise after it’s loud, heavy, thick opening. I get more spices than floral from this amber scent. I have had it on for 5 hours and it’s been a skin scent for the last 3. Kind of a letdown since the PR scents I have tried usually have all day and then some longevity. It’s a soft like for me. 6.5/10

  12. :

It starts slightly over powering and settles to a relatively potent scent on my skin. It is a thick and smokey combination of amber and opium. It vaguely reminds me of something from the past (perhaps YSL OPIUM?).
It is clearly unisex but I think is more on the feminine side!
Very good longevity and projection while I have to say the scent is definitely not for me!

I also have a sample of this from Lucky Scent. This is a unique Amber scent to my nose; it has that “musty attic mothball” tinge to it. As other reviewers have mentioned too it has a real narcotic quality to it. It makes me sniff my wrist A LOT. I think people either love or hate that “mothball” scent, so watch out if you’re not a fan! Because it does have a bit more interest than typical Amber fragrances, I will need a full bottle!

Has this one been reformulated? I have a tiny (of course) sample from Luckysent, and a full bottle bought two weeks ago. The FB smells cozy, cuddly, soft amber, even somewhat dusty like other people have already mentioned. I apply it at night, and can smell it throughout the next day. The Luckysent sample is more flowery, I think I can smell the spices more too, but it’s weaker. I applied it before going to bed but I doubt I will still be able to smell it in the morning. The sample might be more generally appealing and pleasing to a larger public. but it is less interesting bc it lacks the intriguing dusty amber note that my FB has. That balmy FB scent has presence and longevity like no other. It was compared to mothballs. I wouldn’t go that far, but I can understand the dusty “old closet” feeling this might evoke.
Definitely one to try before you buy, and try it in store, from a recent tester, bc as I have just found out, samples from LS can be misleading.
Edit to add. The next morning, as predicted, the Fiore from the FB that I applied on my right arm was still very present, warm and inviting. My left arm on which I had generously applied the sample from Luckysent barely smelled of anything. I had to glue my nose to my skin and sniff really hard to get a whiff of ??? I’m not even sure what. Just something unmemorable.

I think this was reformulated for the better. A few years ago I tried a sample and it indeed smelled like vintage YSL opium, albeit less complex and then dried down to a synthetic sweet vanillic amber. Now it really is Fiori di Ambra, a sweet floral jasmine and slightly spicy opium (more like a kuumba made opium rather than YSLs opium) over a wonderful warm musky amber. When I spray all I smell first is a light vanilla and quickly an indolic sweet flower that I am calling jasmine greets the vanilla, and then the sweet slightly sticky and dark opium. Underneath the amber slowly grows and becomes stronger until in its heart it is a warm golden amber with a pretty floral glow from the opium note. Nice sillage and projection. FB worthy for those who like soft ambers with a slight edge– this is beautiful on a happy sunny day, feels like a modern hippie taking a walk in central Italy, there is such a warmth and positive energy to this while also a purring sensuality. Really nice and definitely unisex.

This perfume makes my stomach do somersaults. The first time I smelled it–and I sincerely hate to use this word in a review of a perfume that contains an opium flower note–it was narcotic. So good, like nothing I had ever smelled. I NEEDED IT. I distinctly felt butterflies in my stomach, I am talking about a very real physiological reaction. It was not easy to figure out what I was smelling and why it made me feel that way. It was certainly more animalic than Profumum’s own Ambra Aurea, something I had not expected, and floral. Some kind of white floral with the edges of the petals dipped in freshly grated cinnamon bark.
The next day I sampled again. I was truly unprepared for my reaction. It smelled they way I imagine rotting human flesh might smell. Now in my stomach the butterflies flew away, replaced by a churning sensation, like I might become ill. In any case, a physiological reaction occurred again. I could not stop thinking of that disturbing movie, Perfume, with that creepy Baptiste boy scraping the scent off of the skins of corpses, his victims.
As the perfume became sweeter (I was so grateful) and the animalic notes melded effortlessly with the oils of my own skin, the perfume began to smell like the skin of a beautiful woman who wore Opium (yes, YSL’s Opium) the day before, waking up the next morning with the perfume faintly lingering on her skin. Not my skin. Her skin. My skin smelled like somebody else’s skin. It is so macabre [shiver]! And yet it has me hooked. Here is the description of Fiori d’Ambra, taken directly from Profumum Roma:
“A candle diffuses the scent of opium and amber
    An elegantly unmade bed
And my book on the night table.
In my mind thoughts of her.”
Fiori d’Ambra doesn’t smell like YSL’s Opium, but it is reminiscent, sort of like when a popular band releases a tribute album. The same, but different. Fiori d’Ambra, like Opium, smells of amber, incense, a tad sweet, and spicy with cinnamon as the dominant spice. The difference is that Fiori d’Ambra is much less sharp, much smoother in every possible way, and animalic. It smells like Opium after it has been on the skin for at least 36 hours. And those of us who know vintage Opium know it can last much longer than that.
I wonder how long it will take for me to form a solid opinion on it. Is it disturbing? Is it sexy? Is it possible to have both qualities at the same time? I don’t think so. The only question about Fiori d’Ambra that I can answer definitively is: Is it forgettable? NO!

The amber is very much toned down and there is a “flat” feel to it and the opium is not that narcotic as I thought, I was expecting it to be somewhere in the line of Nassomatto’s Black Afgano in terms of narcoticness( I know one is opium and the other one cannabis). To me Ambra Aurea is the better one of of these two. I also found this to be the lowest performer of all the Profumum’s I’ve tested. I am doing 3 sprays which would normally be unthinkable with other Profumum fragrances.

This is one of those fragrances that I find difficult, yet compelled to review. Why difficult you may ask? Well, because I dont exactly know what I am smelling, yes there is a beautiful amber, slightly softer than in its sister scent, ambra d aurea, but there is also this dusty, narcotic smell that accompanies the amber. In fact so narcotic, it is addictive. I find myself, unconsciously lifting my wrist to my nose to catch a sniff of its beauty, of its elegance.
It is quite a retro scent, to be honest I am loathed to use that phrase, but it reminds me of the sixties and the early seventies, or at least from what I remember or have just imagined: read made up in my head.
The fragrance does last an age, however the projection after the initial blast is quite low, sillage is moderate.
Do you need to buy it? If you like profumum other amber and already have it, then…. Hell yeah, it is very similar yet vastly different.
In short it is intoxicating, it is beautiful, and definitely narcotic much like you would expect opium to be.

I want to love this, but I get an unpleasant mothball effect on my skin for the first half hour or so. Besides that, the amber note is gorgeous, maybe the most gorgeous I have ever smelled. A true heartbreaker.
This reminds me very much of CD’s Dune, made with good ingredients. It has that witchcraft on the beach vibe.

  20. :

Starts with a liquory note with a light flower accord which disappears almost instantly.
At the same time, the warmth unfolds on the skin. Amber is well combined with some spices and vanilla. This blend gives you a slightly animalic impression which appears cozy at the same time. It’s like sitting in front of the fireplace…
Wearing of this fragrance is much the same as sitting relaxed by the fireplace- it’s perfectly wearable during the colder days.
Strong recommended for lovers of amber scents!

Why would people blindly assume that this is going to smell remotely like “Opium” by YSL??? Does “Opium” contain opium flower? No. What you are smelling in “Opium” is a symphony of incense, vanilla and spices. Not opium flower.
“Fiori d’Ambra” is predominantly a honking, pungent indolic floral that reminds me of decaying lilies. In fact it is very similar to “Charogne” by Etat Libre d’Orange. Think of a musky funeral home on a really hot day, or an old woman with really bad breath.
I repeat: Does NOT smell like “Opium”.

I didn’t get too exited about this fragrance. On my skin: soapy-powdery-dark-floral amber. Nice, but nothing innovative or memorable.

ahhh…im dripping in disappointment.after reading these reviews i instantly ordered a couple of sample vials.i was expecting to smell the decadence of an opim den,the trance of the pied piper (as one person put it),the smell of wearing another humins skin, the macabre…nooooo.put a good bit on at first and it smelled like an ancient avon perfume bottle you might find at a garage sale, that still has some pungent scent left.i waited.and waited.it slowly faded to nothing…extremely disappointed.waste of money.

  24. :

for me this is a perfecly decadent fragrance, litterally, remind me of Wilde, one that Dorian Gray could wear; or Baudelaire… victorian era, decadence is what I get from it, that sweet strange note, opium, remind me of that dark places …opium bars chasing the dragon, as they used to say…maison closes, courtesans, corsets…
for me it’s totally unisex, but sin chemistry plays a main role with such an intense fragrance; could seem heavy or sweet at the very beginning but once it warms up it gets spicy, dark, smoky.

  25. :

The spices are nicely blended with a very pleasant light powder/floral accord. The notes don’t dance around, and stay put. I absolutely love the opening, and am once again swept off my feet with this houses potent quality.
Longevity is amazing, and sillage is moderate.

Fiori d ambra was my very first love in the world of perfumes, and still is! This is a piece of art. You don’t wear it when doing the laundry or anything like that, that would be an insult not only to the perfume itself, but to the makers and the nose behind it.
The very first time I tried it, I imagined myself on an ottoman wearing something expensive and silky, reading Baudelaire or maybe even de Sade in a room where the only light source is the fire in the fireplace. I want to be VERY clear – this is a perfume with a huge personality and soul. If you consider yourself as a person not wishing to stand out or bother people nearby, choose something else. Otherwise you will be carried by the perfume, not the other way around.
Tip! Since the content of perfumes like Profumums are high in oil content, you are able to gently rub it into your skin without destroying the composition. This is possible when the percentage pass at least 20% (Profumum = around 40%). If the visible signs after the spray last at least 10 seconds (depending on how close the skin is from the bottle), then go ahead. If not, don’t. Perfumes with less oils are not made for such “mechanical” impact.
At last: Do not blind buy anything in this price tag level after reading reviews or descriptions, nor because somebody recommends it without test it on your own skin. The quantity of oils makes them very individual on the skin compared to cheaper alternatives.

Do I know what opium smells like? No. No I do not. Because I’m not one-hundred percent sure how I would describe the note, I’m not convinced I will do this scent justice but here I go.
On first application, I didn’t really get too much that blew me away to be honest. Resinous amber with a dash of incense and that mysterious ‘opium’ note floating around. It’s dark… and a bit powdery for my male taste when you first put it on. For that reason I almost didn’t give it a chance, but I hope that /you/ will.
Oh lord, when this stuff starts to heat up on your skin. The spices started revealing themselves about 45 minutes to an hour in as the whole shebang started to gain momentum. It was around the two hour mark for me when Fiori began to really sizzle and I knew I was smitten. This heartbreakingly beautiful amber heated by spice gives the impression of the most achingly delicious tonka accord I’ve ever smelt. (At least on my skin.) Combined with that dark, brooding opium accord… man it’s really something else in a good way. It lasted about nine hours for me.
It’s strange though, and I feel really weird even saying this but there is something vaguely disturbing about this fragrance. Somehow I feel like this is the perfect signature for those people who know just what to say and just where to touch behind the ear to lead the masses to their bed like the pied piper. Is that weird…? …Yeah, it was wasn’t it? Still dying to have a bottle anyway, two thumbs up. I do have to add that I kind of wish that the sillage was a bit less personal for such an expensive offering. (But looking at the sillage data above, maybe this is just something to do with my skin?)
Edit: I always seem to leave something or other out the first time I review. Smelling it again today I’d like to add a few things. First, this amber is very vanilla rich. This could quite possibly be your vanilla HG. Second, the spices are indeed quite detectable from the moment you put it on. I suppose I was just fixated on the powder and once I knew what was coming I could see past it. Lastly, take it from me: Apply with caution in hot weather. Without a judicious hand you will be asphyxiating in a sea of melted wax flowers and spices until the base begins to come through and smooths everything out.
It seems to me that this would appeal to fans of Obsession looking to step up their game, as well as to people that wanted to like Obsession but couldn’t due feeling it was too cacophonous or had too many sharp edges.

i like it, it’s powdery amber with a hint of vanilla or let’s say Cherry Vanilla Ice cream!! dark with a bit of essence, not that woody but maybe & just maybe a tiny bit of oud. later on (after 30 mins) it goes a bit frutti powdery. but honestly it’s too expensive for such essence, i mean it’s not that common, but i can find a similar. With true respect i won’t pay 220$+ for a 100 ml, i can go for 100$ to 120$ max for 100 ml of this perfume.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

It’s the opium that makes this work as well as it does, merging with the amber effortlessly and conjuring up a slew of visuals.
The scent opens with a furry plushness akin to L’Ombre Fauve, but the opium soon makes its appearance against a dry amber foundation. Here, the note smells floral and incensey; sweet but not overdone—just dirty enough to generate interest in an otherwise opulent composition. There’s a crisp vanilla undercurrent that’s held low in the mix, keeping the emphasis on the central notes and allowing the scent to modulate between dry and plush. Beautifully rendered and cozy, this is amber done right.
It sits low on the skin though, so it’s clearly designed for more intimate use, but I could see better versatility in this than some of the other amber-bombs available. It’s probably the kind of thing that would work as well in the office as it would on a night out, yet it works especially well as a comfort scent. Nowhere near as intense or powerful as some of the bigger ambers, but in terms of composition, Fiore d’Ambra holds its own.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Fiori d’Ambra starts out spicey with a barbershop accord thrown in the mix. As the top notes fade the scent gets warmer and warmer, building to animalic crescendo of amber gris, indistinct white floral and body heat. Definitely sexy, but actually too unsettlingly animalic for me to buy a full bottle as it almost feels like I’m wearing the scent of another human’s skin. This perfume goes beyond being unisex, it’s too human smelling to be specifically gender identified. Even still, I do like the way this smells.
ETA 7/28/13: I tried this again this morning. Again, I got goosebumps…this perfume really is fascinating but borderline macabre.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

Okay, this has a HUGE, and I mean, enormous opium note right up-front. It’s actually quite scary frankly reminds me of a mixture of things because it then quickly develops into a floral, boozy, animalic, amber and tobacco scent- all in that order. The scent is pretty damn smooth however, in fact, the blending is quite supreme.
So, the above may sound nice, but for me- not quite- the sweetness is a strange type, and mixed with the booze and opium create a strange effect that ‘mask’ the whole aspect of the amber itself!
Very little of the deep, resinous stuff I was after. This is certainly anything but rich, dark and spicy, and sadly- nothing is +vely interesting me here. It’s sweet, but that’s just about it!
I feel the true qualities of amber and anything else that may be hiding have not been allowed to shine at all in this composition- spices and mainly resins is what I was after. It’s rather ‘perfumey’ in the feminine aspect, that aroma you get when applying certain (even quality) perfumes in a department store- but do not ‘quite like it’. There is a hint of ‘baby lotion’ in there too, tiny amount.
It seems almost strangely fresh, think a very slightly sweetened papyrus or ancient script being wetted a little in dilute ‘parfum’ water. A floral, ‘high-perfume’ vibe. It can be seen as ‘animalic’, but even that is more subdued/diluted.
They drydown almost tempts me to add an extra mark, with the ambergris so true and smooth you’d want to swim with whales all day! Very well done for this part of the scent. But I still feel a dash of vanilla/spice or woods wouldn’t have hurt. Sadly the rest of the scent’s disappointing phase lasts too long.
An interesting experience, but simply, I was after you can say, a more orthodox tribute to amber.
    2/5.

Oh my goodness, this is divine. Gosha said it best so I won’t try to re-invent the wheel but I agree that this does have a narcotic quality to it and a warm, naughty, yet playful air. This must be why Italian men have such a legendary reputation with the ladies. I’d follow a man wearing this anywhere! But I want to wear it myself. Guess I’ll have to save my pennies, but I can wait for this beauty. I think a bottle would last forever. The sillage on this is tremendous. Definitely not an office scent or a scent to wear to a foodie dinner but great for private times.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Someone knowledgable (more than myself) needs to educate the perfume masses on the difference between ambergris (a whale excretion/byproduct, which I might add NO WHALES ARE EVEN PRESENT AT HARVEST TIME MUCH LESS DAMAGED BY IT. There there’s no reason for not allowing it in the US because of stupid silly endangered species lists!) and Amber (a amber colored tree excretion which has been almost foscilized for years). All I know for absolute truth is they are not remotely the same product nor is the fragrance. I believe most amber is powdery and ambergris has salty sea scents since that’s where it floats for a long time before being harvested. Anyway, both amber frags. are wonderful!!

  34. :

    5 out of 5

I had a sample and I loved it but I like Ambre Aurea better. This one has a bit of a smoky, rubbery note that reminds me of fossilized amber, which is rarely used in perfumery. Usually “amber” comes from tree resins (benzoin, balsam peru) or labdanum (cistus root) or ambergris (whale secretions). This one is nice, interesting, like skin with something mysterious. A nice addition to the selection of any wardrobe if you can afford it.
I dont’ get any spices when I smell this. I’d say, whatever “opium” is, that’s what I smell that I don’t understand, but it’s probably ambergris.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I’m really torn as to which of the house’s two ambers I like best. While Ambra Aurea is sweet and forthright and people are drawn to sniff you like a buffet on feet, this one… dark and mysterious are two very-fitting words! Fiore d’Ambra is the more-sophisticated sibling with a little attitude, it has secrets that it keeps, it makes you hesitate and work a bit before accepting it- so sexy… and then you’re smitten! The composition is definitely centered upon Sumatran benzoin/loban/sambraani.

I finally splurged for a bottle of this and it was totally worth it and is so potent and long lasting, I wont ever have to rebuy. I usually need 1-2 sprays and it smells a lot like a more amber rich version of L’Artisan’s amber balls (and if you like this fragrance you will love those too, also sold by luckyscent). I love this one mixed with a little vanilla to sweeten it up, but it is very rich and beautiful on its own.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

This is the best amber i have ever tried! I think its the opium that gives it that little extra special spice. This is spicer than the ambra auera, with less vanilla and incense. This is not a powdery amber, but a rich, spicy and almost sweet one. Every lover of amber should try these IMO! Long lasting, high quality and just smells (for lack of a better word) expensive.

  38. :

I would like to say that this stuff is otherworldly…but it is not, because I connect this expression with something pure and innocent, angelic and heavenly. That – Fiori d’Ambra is not… as it is quite the opposite – dark and mysterious, mystic, narcotic (vertigo’s description – I really like), sensual and almost sexual… But it is also playfully winking; it is mischievous, seductive, a bit sinful and even troublesome. I would say that this fragrance will suit to both men and women and that it has the potential to develop very individually on each skin…like a snake slithering over and smoothly enveloping your body, it might warm and lift up the natural scent of human skin. I like kastehelmi’s comparison to “…dark herbal ointment on a wound..” – That is very fitting. There is fire and there is somewhat hypnotic earthy sweetness in there and an air of timelessness. Very potent, long lasting and exquisite.

Most ambers have a baby powder thing going on for me. This is probably the nicest amber I’ve smelt so far. Very smoky like incense, which overpowers the baby powder aspect which is there, but only just peeking it’s head out. Strong and intense, reminds me alot of YSL Opium which I have. Nice, but happy with sample for now.

Just as everyone else said-this is like Opium by Yves Saint Laurent with only the good elements, and none of the bad…
Smooth as a dark herbal ointment on a wound…I’m not saying that this is herbal though…This is a rich sweet womanly scent, yet the origins are foul: real ambergris, you know what that is. Only morally disturbing is the use of the opium poppy in fragrance (I am being tongue-in-cheek here)…
I have no idea whether the source of ingredients is real ambergris, and I am skeptical that the “opium” comes from an infusion or effleurage of poppies, but perhaps.
Fiori d’Ambra is a great name-flowers so full of nectar they collapse under their own weight, swooning….
Buxom velvety inky heavy sex in a bottle, deep and almost cloying but not loud, direct nor too difficult to wear for the “average” fan of Orientals, whoever that is….

This is a real journey in time.
From the ancient times, through middle ages, till today. A mixture of smoke from herbs burnt in ancient temples and smog of our metropolies.
Fiori d’Ambra smells very narcotic to me, with ‘rough’ amber, not the neat and tamed one you usually smell in modern perfumes. I can also smell some ash, like the one which is left after douting the fire, and it was pine bark and needles that were burning. And a few drops of milk and honey. Maybe that’s why I see a remote similarity between this one and Ambre d’Or by Il Profvmo. But this one is far less sweet.
I believe both men and women can wear this fragrance. It stays close to the skin, but lasts many many hours.
    It’s rough & harsh & coarse.
It’s not wild, but deceitful – kills you slowly, poisoning your blood and mind, with every single amber drop.

Profumum means to me crazy pricetag for beautiful scents. They’re probably worth the price, if you can afford it, because they are really well made and great quality. None of them smell commercial or mainstream.
I agree that Fiori d’Ambra smells similar to Opium, but much more refined and less harsh. It’s a very interesting scent, elegant and bold, without being gross. I think this is mainly feminine, not very unisex.

This scent is great albeit the price tag!!
Reminds me a lot of YSL Opium, it stays fresh on your skin for hours. The perfume essence in this scent is estimated on 50% and the SA said it could last up to 24 hours on your skin.

An interesting amber, sweet, not overhelming,; I think the ambergris in the drydown give it a step over other amber parfumes and makes it interesting, and quite sensual…..
