    DRRRROOOOOOL!
    BLIND BUY HEAVEN!
Like so many reviews hereI blind bought and it turned out to be spot on!
I wanted a simple unadulterated dry tobacco scent. I GOT IT 😉
Somewhat green crisp blast dries down to a simple hay, dry tobacco bit of spice scent with a smidgen of patchouli to add a base. VERY NATURAL, unlike horrid synthetic Mancera Red Tobacco and popular name brand scents. It sits next to my Parfum De Marly Herod (a contrast as it is a rich smooth gourmand mix with Vanilla & Cinnamon – the best Tobacco scent IMO) as my go to Tobacco scents.
Not ‘beast’ projection but decently strong, infact I’m inspired to write this as I just registered I’m getting an arms length waft 12 HOURS later today.
Miller Harris has my respect and soon some more of my money! Another sleeper brand I hope…

Feuilles de Tabac is a clean arid tobacco chypre scent. It is a well made scent with quality ingredients. It smells serious in a good way. It has a classic edge to it as well and is somewhat familiar to my nose. I think Burberry London (2006) is a distant relative of Feuilles de Tabac (2000). While this one has a chypre facet, Burberry London has a sweet oriental spicy character. I’m not a fan of tobacco scents myself, but this is a product that I can recommend. Good longevity and projection.

Feuilles De Tabac was a blind buy for me, based on the notes and some of the reviews and I am very glad that I purchased this beauty!
FDT opens with a steely, metallic and sharp tobacco that can be a bit off putting. But the dry down turns this scent into a slight sweet, soapy, woody tobacco that is just pure deliciousness to my nose. sensual is a good description for this fragrance. You know it is there, softly calling to you, whispering your name, waiting for you, but not in your face.
I get good projection and longevity on my skin. Although listed as unisex, I find FDT to be more masculine to my nose. I see this as more of a casual scent, although I can wear FDT in a sports coat.
Bottom line: If you high quality tobacco inspired scents, you should give this one a try.

murmurings of the Kenzo L’elephant spice (yes really) mixed with vintage Vetiver Pour Elle to my nose. and what a great combination. no cloves or vetiver listed though, but that’s what I’m whiffing. I can’t comment too much on the tobacco (its namesake) element, but I do get a pre-lit cigar reference here.
this one arrives sporting a beard and a pair of brogues.
but then he/she settles down to a green brown spiced woodsy number that I would perhaps consider unisex, as i would Vetiver Insolent and Etui Noir, two of my favourites from MH.
That said, I think I am going to gift this to my Dad for his birthday, pre-depending on Mum’s tolerance of it (she quite rightly gets the final say, because she has to smell him all day and he is prone to being overzealous with the sprayer).
it says on the box “a sensuous choice for men”. I think MH missed a trick not marketing this as unisex. My Vetiver Pour Elle has as much facial hair as this.
i certainly don’t feel like I’m wearing anything overtly “masculine” and this is me, who felt selfconsciously blokeish wearing a squirt of Eau Du Sud from its girly lady bottle last week.

Feuilles de Tabac by Miller Harris is an interpretation of uncured tobacco leaves within the aromatic green genre. The initial phase is citric, slightly peppery and slightly smoky, and paired with some tobacco notes that impart a humidity to the fragrance. Things go south soon, as the composition somewhat comes apart: any spicy aspect vanishes, and the tobacco disappears as well to leave behind a woody-sweet dry down that is only slightly aromatic. The fragrance is also rather meek with soft sillage, and duration is quite fleeting.
Feuilles de Tabac comes across as a missed opportunity because of its shortcomings. A greater focus on tobacco together with a considerable increase in potency would have been much more interesting. The vintage version of Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme can be thought of as a much improved Feuilles de Tabac: unfortunately, it is almost impossible to come by now. Or, just get Havana.

This is what Gandalf the Grey (note: not in his White incarnation!) would wear. It is a mix of the indulgent and the alert, a visit to the Shire spiced up with a little wizardly cynicism, relaxed, sharp, not unfriendly, with power in the background rather than shoved down your face. The pepper is down-to-earth.
I grow tobacco in my garden and cure it in my house; not a lot of tobacco notes in perfume actually conjure up the plant to me. This does. It captures the atmosphere of a real, home-harvested parcel of leaves.

Very strange smell. The pine and pepper make it strangely like the thick pungent bleach you clean toilets with. Ick!

This is very good. The opening is very strident deep pine notes – actually quite grassy. Then surprisingly it dies down and a blackcurrent/pimento/tobacco starts to emerge from underneath, which is quite unexpected. The combination of the tobacco with pine, rather than sweetness like you’d find with vanilla or spices, is really refreshing. It’s a bit like a mix of Ormonde Man by Ormonde Jayne and Tabac Rouge. Very autumnal, though I’m not sure that means you shouldn’t wear it at other times.

Hard to describe, it is sensual, soft, sexy, but not loud. This is beautiful skin (stylish!) scent and last entire day for me. Wore it during work and until dinner time. This is soft sexiness scent for someone who is naturally stylish – with confidence within. Not girly and commercial scent where one smells pretty much the same as everybody else. I love wearing white suede private collection. I think this is similar family. This would be one level up. Not sure about the tobacco, don’t focus on this, just enjoy it from overall blend…and see how it stays with you. First spray could be mix feelings but when it melts down it becomes very soft and creamy yet with a little edge…on you.
This scent is sexy, this is for woman.

Polly Golightly’s review matches exactly what I think of this pleasant and very well crafted scent. That’s why I bought it!

For a fragrance listing some potentially nuclear strength notes it is very soft on me like other MHs I have tested. The top three notes are very obvious and work well together. The chilli must be the most evident. It adds some apt “fire” to the mix. I can just about make out the sage. The patch adds a damp earthy base whilst the tonka adds just enough sweetness but both notes are low key here. I can see why some ladies might consider it just for the fellas but I think your missing out. Its as soft as a kitten!
For me its not fb worthy but I will use my decant for layering with other fragrances. It is a skin scent from start to very short finish on me.

Always on a quest for a nice bitter, green scent. This is heavenly! Starts with a strong cedar blast. Aromatic, smoky, green, spicy and bitter. Fresh and a little soapy like the background to Rose en Noir. No sweetness here. Classic aromatic/fougere/chypre with a smoky, leathery drydown. No oakmoss listed, but this is obviously cleverly imitated here. Just in time for autumn, my partial bottle will be used well. Miller Harris continues to impress me…there is something chocolatey in here. And I swear I can smell cloves (unless that is the spicy pimento? This is fast becoming one of my favourite perfumes, definite rebuy!

Oh this is such a beautiful scent to my nose. It is a very rich and refined fragrance for the sophisticated man. Starts of with this huge pine blast that is so refreshing and mood-lifting that you might as well throw your antidepressants away.
Sure, I’m exaggerating here but in the end I really felt great wearing this. The tobacco notes live very close to the skin and within the scent trail I would argue that the tobacco is not even strong enough but who cares, the creamy, spicy and fresh pine that dominates is so sublime and natural that I do not miss loud tobacco, at all.
With this scent you feel in control because it’s quite unique and a bit bold but never goes over the border. Yet, it’s still classy and does that without any effort. I dare to say that it’s even sensual in some way.
I hate to put an age to a fragrance but youngsters, this is not for you. 30+
    Great fragrance!

Very nice scent. Tobacco in this one is more like fog that blurs your vision than smoke that stings your eyes (think most Tauer or Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille). Pine and patcouli are strong to create almost an ambery smell while other notes support these main notes and are hard to pick out. It has a smooth dry down and overall lasts about 7 hours. Feuilles de Tabac is a like a serious friend. Sometimes you find the person a little bit dull because he is always under control, but you like him regardless because he is more reliable than anyone else, and (most importantly) has a kind heart.

Very charismatic! I remember the brown autumn with this perfume. Dried leaves and woods, pine forest, mountain house in the fog and a glass of vine in front of the fireplace… It is very romantic and amazing both man and woman. Try it!

A very dry and earthy scent. The pine and patch shine as well as the tobacco. It creates a melancholy scent that I like. Very unlike typical modern tobacco releases this has very little sweetness. That gives it the edge to make if different in a good way. After sampling it a few times I decided to get a bottle. It’s not a compliment getter but I don’t mind that at all. This is a nice take on tobacco centered scents.

العطر يبدأ بنوتة تبغ نقية جدا وظاهرة وكأنه لا يوجد غيرها أو لن تشم غيرها

Very enjoyable but more about the idea of tobacco rather than tobacco itself. What do I mean? I used to smoke and whenever I remember the pleasure of smoking I think of that split second after you light the cigarette when the smoke smells sweet and rich and wonderful. It almost immediately moves into stale and sour but that first moment… That’s what this scent has: lots of pine, lots of sweet tobacco, a definite dash of spice. I’m not getting sage or pimento–some sweeter spice like nutmeg, mace or caradmom–that’s what makes the tobacco seem sweet. Enjoyable and definitely unisex.
    Sillage–personal, 1-2 ft
    Endurance–2-3 hours
Fabulosity– ‘Having gathered these facts, Watson, I smoked several pipes over them, trying to separate those which were crucial from others which were merely incidental.’
    Value to price ratio: reasonable
    7/10

This is nice. Something in between of classical and contemporary, leaning towards masculine fragrance. Very soft and polite. Very clever mix of pine, herbs, tobacco and patchouli. Smells interesting, pleasant and harmonious. Clean patchouli, nothing loud and harsh, has almost calming effect. This is NOT Tobacco dominant fragrance, so if you want strong tobacco, you will not find it here. Overall, easy to wear fragrance, will be great for any men’s collection.

    Dry Aromatic Tobacco Leaves…
What I really love about this one, is that it takes you back to the days when fragrances were good! You know, when you smelt something and it had bite and character, the aromatic fougères and masculines of the past. This is a dark, dry, smoker’s scent. I get tobacco leaves being rolled into Cuban cigars… chilli and patchoulli and pine needles, sage and other herbs, underlined with a grassy, dry tonka bean. Almost like tonka flavoured tobacco leaves made for a fine quality cigar.
I also get cloves and hot spices mixed with dry herbs. It’s very aromatic, and perfect for colder weather, a great individual scent for a strong personality type. Very distinctive. It’s good, it reminds me of older stuff, Old Spice etc. But it has great character and great for smokers and non-smokers alike. Well done Lyn Harris!

Feuilles de tabac is an odd one. If you’re expecting an abundance of tobacco then think again, this is a well rounded perfume which is as much about tonka beans and patchouli in the base as it is about tobacco.
The opening is a strange herbal creamy affair which has a distinctive peppery spice in there which isn’t sharp but adds interest to what is a turbulent start.
As with La Fumee, I was sure whether I liked it even after it settled but longer into the drydown is where it gets sweeter and revealed itself as something I’d quite happily wear.
Nothing ground breaking here but I have to say it’s unique and that’s a big plus for this one, If you like Feuilles de tabac at all, you’ll probably love it.
If you’re looking for a tobacco scent then it’s worth checking out but might be a little tame on the tobacco element for some.
I got a good few hours out of it so I’d say Longevity is pretty good and it does evolve so best to give it a chance to convince you.

Beautiful, soft and spicy very round, no edges. I like that I can smell a spiced raisin note similar to ambre narguile, but it has a slightly soapy background that keeps it from leaning toward the gourmand side. As for the tobacco, it lays gently woven in between the other notes- never taking over. I do find this to be very masculine but can see a woman wearing it if she’s brave enough.

my brother bought me this perfume as my request while he was abroad. i was using it since a month till today and i have absolutely no idea what the smell is like!! it’s not tobacco, it’s not oud, it’s not cigars or smoke, to me it’s nothing, it’s just like a very light smell that i have absolutely no idea what it is, it vanishes very easily, so it has a very poor silage and longevity. My Brother bought it from Harvey Nichols, so it is original.
i just didn’t like it so i gave it to a friend and he liked it.

A simplified version of Havana of the Aramis line, with sort of a “brown leaf” type tobacco note. This one seems more linear too but smells nice. I think the the juniper berry plays a large role in Havana, which is also more powdery, so if you don’t like these qualities, this one is worth sampling. I think I prefer Havana but this one is quite good.

a really nice elegant tobacco fragrance, not too heavy on the tobacco but just enough so it registers and a bit on the sexy side of smells., have been sampling some of the miller harris fragrances , very nice. appealing..i like this one a lot. excellent quality overall.. this line should be considered when looking for scents. nice people too, have corresponded with them online and they are fast on replying and very friendly. two thumbs up…class act company.

My Dad used to work nights in the restaurant and he always wore Old Spice. And I love the smell of old spice, I think it holds its own. (I don’t believe in perfume snobbery i just believe in perfume and the power of scent).
And thats what this smells like to me.
I wear mens frags if I like it and have no qualms about it but this is the smell of my Dad and so it just isn;t right for me to wear it.
Maybe in time I will smell more from this scent than a memory of being tucked in and go to sleep while everyone else was going to have a fab evening!?
Must just add that it does smell lovely
    EDIT
    I’ve got it, by Jove!
All you have to do is wait and eventually it calms, settles and beds in real pretty! All womanly and full..like a 38 D cup!
Wait for the top notes to burn off and theres no Old Spice at all….just warmth and woody delight.
Not only have i bought it but Ive also bought La Fumee which a previous reviewer was spot on about – they work so beautifully together.
I think I’ve got a bit obsessed with Miller Harris!

For me, this is a delight to smell, and I am working up the courage to wear it to work. This strong, woody, spicy but sweet scent actually reminds me of Roger & Gallet’s Oeillet (carnation) soaps (the fancy ones that come tissue-wrapped three to a box), which I adored as a child. In all, this scent reminds me of the richness of antique furniture, of a sophisticated older lady who loves classical music and jazz. Moment of inspiration: it is phenomenal worn together with Miller Harris La Fumee (equal parts).

This is the first Miller Harris Perfume I have ever tried on my skin, and it is utterly sublime!
The tobacco curls up with a very soft edge that is creamy without being too sweet, and has just enough green notes to be fresh rather than sharp. The tonka beans work well with the wood. It lasts a long time and dries down into a lingering soapy clean scent that holds its own, even against a frankly horrific curry I made that night!
I find this would be a very sensual scent on a man; it gives me the feeling of a guy confident, generous, a man who just is and doesn’t have to try too hard. Mmmmmm!

This is an unbelievably great pine and tobacco scent! What a superb and unusual combination! I love pine scents and I love tobacco fragrances, so I’m really loving this one.
When I first wore this, I was so surprised at how strong the pine and patchouli was in this, that I completely overlooked the tobacco. Trust me, there is a LOT of tobacco in Feuilles de Tabac, but it’s not the usual smooth, semi-musty kind of tobacco smell you get from fragrances like Acqua di Cuba or Moods Uomo. Here, we’re talking about the smell of dry, unlit cigars inside a cedar cigar box. I can smell the sweet tobacco note beneath the pine and patchouli, but it took me a few wearings to get it.
Although I can’t say this wouldn’t smell good on a woman, Feuilles de Tabac clearly smells like a men’s fragrance to me. It also projects well and has very good staying power on my skin.
    This is an outstanding fragrance.
    MY RATING: 9/10

I tested this yeasterday, and I like the smell it has left on my clothes the next day! Its VERY masculine, reminds me of Fahrenheit, and the starting notes are very strong, don’t think I would dare to apply it behing my ears as I usually do. My wrist was close enought to my nose! Maybe be put it in a little bottle and applying it with the tip of a finger would do the trick. The spray was too much. But as I say, at the moment of applying the pepper and pine tree are too strong, the dry down is better and the smell in the clothes now is lovely, I can really smell the patchouli which I love.

    Edit 2013:
I completely fell for this stuff. No, it’s not the most original fragrance around but it wears incredibly good. A classic masculine which is extremely well blended. If you need something solid, with no particular twist, versatile but at the same time classy, go for it. Somewhere bewteen Aramis and vintage Equipage. Good stuff.
    Rating: 7.5/10
    Original Review:
Feuilles De Tabac is one of those fragrances that while they definitely smell good they’re also not particularly outstanding or even inspiring/evocative to do a review.
A nice citrus/spicy opening evolving into a green tobacco leafs middlephase that’s pretty enjoyable and well executed yet not particularly fascinating. Hints of coniferous and a sweet ambery/tonka beans base is all I get in the drydown. Overall Feuilles De Tabac could be much better if just a little more daring but considering its conventional evolution it ends up being just nice. Good but not full bottle worthy.

Ooh, now this I like. Not one for the shy, retiring type of chap who blushes should anyone meet his eye – this a fragrance to get you noticed, for sure. It’s incredibly rich and autumnal in nature – a really lovely handling of the clove and pine needle, which could have been far too heady and overpowering had they not been reigned well in with the herbaceous borders that surround this, and the dry, spicy, peppery notes that infuse all levels of this fragrance. The sage is quite unusual, and not perhaps one that I’d have imagined I’d like (I sprayed this on myself, and would wear this with a big thick sweater on a cold day, walking through the woods & kicking through the leaves – though I think, on balance, I’d prefer to snuggle up & sniff this on the neck of my beloved).
Slightly badly tempered in the early stages, this rounds off to become a nutty, spicy drydown that’s an all-day wrist sniffer for me – a Mr. Darcy of a perfume – all darkly brooding & sexily tousled, but with a warm heart underneath all that bluster.

I purchased on ebay thought I’d give it a try. I’m into tobacco scents this one is too strong at first spray, the dry down is very warm and inviting though,if you can get thru the top notes you can savour the middle and base ones.It has great staying power.I even sprayed my car’s interior at the beginning of autumn, needless to say it still lingers with a robust and addictive scent.

Sage and tobacco based men’s scent. The notes sound great, but in the end it just isn’t that much different from other men’s scents.
