An utterly haunting and unique floral oud, this perfume just has to be experienced to be believed. It is so hypnotic, abstract, surreal and achingly beautiful all at the same time that it can be very polarizing depending on your state of mind while wearing it. The fragrance combines notes of real Oud, with castoreum, saffron, coffee blossom, sumac, petitgrain, bergamot, musk and nightblooms to achieve a dark fairy tale effect of a walk along an enchanted forest at night. The notes radiate from all directions in different ways achieving an almost three dimensional effect I have rarely seen in modern perfumery. Moderate in sillage and long lasting, pricey, limited, and beautifully blended with natural ingredients, this is your “Pan’s Labyrinth” perfume. A magical floral oud for those who like things totally surreal and boundary pushing. Enjoy!

This is the smell of the basement of an abandoned hospital in a horror movie.

Fascinating, and truly hard to put into words. Addicting, abstract and captivating musky halo- gloomy yet bright. Fierce power.

Here’s a “holy mackerel” fragrance you won’t easily forget but im not sure if it’s for the right or wrong reasons. The opening smells like comet, feet and florals. Very original yet unusual. It kinda make you think of hospitals. This has what i would call sneaky leather but that accord doesn’t last long enough to pull this into a masculine direction. This builds momentum thanks to its natural power and rich texture. Florals almost inky are compellingly, addictively intriguing, voluptuous and downright sniff-worthy. The racy jolt of musk is brilliant and adds a much needed balance to this decorative offering. This is an expensive little booger that changes and morphs and mutates making this a perfume worth the admission. Without a doubt, non-stop action from the beginning to the end.

(from sample) Powdery-astringent mossiness with a touch of dank sweetness…a heady, almost narcotic damp pungency. Intense, unlike any perfume I’ve smelled. It reminds me of running around barefoot in the woods as a kid (I was fond of wiggling my toes in moss patches and the forest behind my house always seemed to have just been through a rain). A honey-toned floral presence begins to spread over the moss like butter. It’s delightful but one of the weirdest scents I’ve smelled.
To call this rich and power-packed is an understatement.. but oddly it only lasts about 3hrs on my skin (which eats frags). Just the single dab of it from my sample has such presence for that time though! Now that I’ve thought ‘Comet/Ajax’ though it’s hard to shake that impression. It also has a rich muskiness beneath it along w/ a semi-sweet tone that I associate w/ castoreum. Really an original mix!
Luckyscent has a fuller note list if you’re interested. Seems to me a richer, more nichey-noted, more wearable cousin of ELDO’s Rein.
