This is what I imagine a fairy picnic in the forest would smell like. Juicy strawberries dipped in honey, with bright greens and woods in the background. The patchouli in this is white patchouli, according to Alkemia’s notes, which is kind of light and sparkling. I don’t normally like patchouli scents because it gets so heavy on my skin but this one stays light. I think it grounds the fruitiness and ties it into the earthy scents very well.

I was really looking forward to trying this scent out after reading the great reviews on it. Unfortunately it fell short for me as it smells like smarties candy, soap, and a boho shop. The sweet strawberry note just smells like candy, a fake scent not actually strawberry. I’m trying so hard to like it, but it didn’t work for me sadly.

This was one of my most highly anticipated Alkemia scents. I almost blind bought a bottle, and I am so glad I didn’t. I really dislike it. It doesn’t evoke images of a fae realm to me at all. It smells like a soapy clean synthetic strawberry syrup, cloying and overly sweet. The hint of nature (fern, wood, anything) doesn’t come out at all for me until it is a whispering skin scent. So basically the progression is as follows (if I manage to leave it on long enough): overly sweet synthetic strawberry -> sours -> powdery -> faint green skin scent. BOO.

A shady forest glade, lush with ferns and old growth carpeted with moss, overlaid with fresh, juicy strawberries. I understand the name because this scent is truly magical. This one is beloved.

A burst of fruit. Sweet and sour like strawberry and lemon, like a fruity popsicle in the summer, and sweetened cypress (almost like pine) and lime. Quite unique and you will either hate it or love it, so definitely sample this if it sounds like something you would like. Compare to Lush Jungle conditioner or Avobath bath bomb, or The Wild by Somethinspecial, or even Calippo shots, 7up and Coca Cola.

This is one of my favorite spring/summer fragrances from Alkemia Perfumes. One might assume from the name that this is a commercial, airy-fairy new age fantasy frou-frou. Well, assumption is the mother of regret. Faerie Queene is a complex composition which starts brightly enough with strawberry, then **morphs** with a reminder it is rooted in loamy, shaded richness. A sporadic wafting play between fruit and blossom in the light, and mossy suede depths of variegated greenness in the shadows (crocus, patchouli, fern, moss) provides ongoing contrasts for a few exceptional hours. Then it goes seductively close to the skin as the agarwood which has lurked in the depths emerges. There is also a curious hint of darkness, possibly in the nightshade, grounded by oak.
One simply cannot go wrong with agarwood (oud) and strawberry. Period. I am now eyeing my buttercup absolute and thinking about layering here. But that, dear fragrance lovers, is yet *another* story in the Alkemia sagas.
Creativity: 9 (the name has always put me off a bit)
Longevity: 8 Excellent for a perfume oil. 6+ hours.
Sillage: 6-8 Ranges due to morphing, plus body and ambient temperature. This is usually a summer release, designed for warmer temps.
