Um, how do I say this? Limes.
If you want limes, go for Royall Lyme.

If you look at the bigger cologne picture, this is disappointing. Sillage = 0. Drydown = Nothing. Longevity = 0.
But, based on the finer details, this is amazing. It smells like you’re applying fresh lime juice. Intensely refreshing and a pleasing experience even if it is a completely personal one. Nobody else gets to enjoy this unless they’re with you when you apply it.
On me the scent is completely gone within 20 minutes. It is just a burst of fresh limes then gone. No drydown, no sillage. I just wear it for the experience. I have the big bottle with the screw top and that just adds to the experience. It is strictly a scent for the warmest summer days and to be applied purely to refresh yourself for just a moment. Perhaps a good one to keep in the bathroom and one to throw in your suitcase if you’re going on holiday to a hot country.
In that sense it reminds me a little of baby cologne. That lemon scented water which provides a small escape from the sticky heat. For that I will always keep Trumpers Limes in my collection.

    Fleeting yet authentic Lime…
I have tried a few lime fragrances, and can say that this one does open with a very authentic burst of freshly cut lime. I have lime essential oil, and can tell you that the oil used here is of a high quality. No other ingredient need be used, because if the oil is good enough it is multi-faceted enough to be a fragrance.
Having said that, this is not a perfume or an eau de toilette, this is an extremely traditional eau de cologne which was meant only as a refresher throughout the day. So if you are looking for a fragrance to last and wear, look elsewhere (and there are very good an interesting options out there). I would say that if price is an issue, you could go for other options, but as a refresher and an authentic top note this is fantastic, just don’t expect it to last more than a few minutes. Lime in all it’s glory, but only for a brief instant, before fading into the air. Meant more as a quick spray to refresh yourself in hot weather, so for all other situations probably not good value for money.

    Lime, Lime, and,,,, Lime.
One dimensional but Very fresh. It burns off lightly fast thou.
It’s a quick little refreshing blast, nice for when you need a little “pick me up”.
People who live in a warm climate will get the most out of this.

I have this but it’s not the best Limes Cologne out there. Still that said I do enjoy layering this on a hot Summer day after a good old traditional wet shave, I find it very cooling and invigorating. Certainly one that is kept close to your razor and soap.
Just checked and the fact I have nearly used the whole bottle also says something about it.

Extract of WIL is pretty natural-smelling on skin…moreso than Truefitt’s Limes, but not as strong or long-lasting. Even while it’s still drying on paper, it has the acridness of the rind of a freshly cut lime, but soon it’s all over. There are virtually no base notes…almost nothing is left at all. Very academic and impractical.

The sillage is not great, but the scent reminds me of going out to Savile Row with my Grandfather to purchase my first suit from Henry Poole….
It is the smell of extract of limes that brings back the memory of that special occasion.
Isn’t that what smell is all about??? Memory, the memory of something great or bad that happened in your life?!

    Layered with other fragrances? Possibly.
This smells exactly like ReaLime that you purchase in the grocery aisle. That is not necessarily a bad thing. I love ReaLime on my salad or in a glass of ice water on a hot summer day. However, I don’t like feeling like I am piece of lettuce. The lime scent dissipates quickly. Only lasting an hour or two. Once it is dry it reminds me of dish soap.
It might be good layered with other fragrances since it is only lime. There are no other notes here. I have experimented with a few sandalwoods, but not found any combinations I am fond of. Compared to Taylor of Old Bond Street, Trumpers has a much more realistic smell. TOBS smells sweeter and more like candy. If you are looking for an authentic lime, I don’t think you can do much better than this one by Trumper.
I generally like Trumper’s fragrances, and I love lime, but mostly for eating.

The sprint equivalent of a fragrance! Expecting an extended, multi-sensory unfolding over many hours? Don’t buy this. A marathon event it isn’t. However, if you’ve got plenty of deep, dark, multi-layered fragrances in your collection, but want something that is the very essence of Limes for the (hopefully – I live in the UK, so don’t take anything weather-wise for granted) hot Summer days then you won’t find a better Lime/Citrus composition in terms of price in my humble opinion. A real winner, I often wear fragrance first thing in the morning and later in the evening, this offering will indeed wear off after a few hours, but sometimes I don’t want to smell a fragrance all through the day! I know, I know, sacrilege to some folks, but longevity isn’t everything, sometimes the moment is all…

Just read today that this is what Simon Cowell wears all the time. He dabbed a bit on the newspaper journalist who relayed that it smelled ‘divine’.
This perfumer is old and British? Really really surprised, never ever ever heard of it before.

This strikes me as a crude, clumsy, naive composition (the citrus is gone in 5 minutes) and reminds me too much of cheap lemon bathroom cleaner.

This is a wonderful lime scent for about 15-20 minutes tops then………NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a waste. I gave my bottle away to a friend after 3 uses and he called me and asked if I paid more than $5 for it since if I did I was ripped off.He claims to have used about 5-6 sprays and it lasted 10 minutes.

Had it back in 2005 – good in the mornings but fades after two hours on me, then gets invigorated when you sweat a little. Possibly a better choice in a warm clime other than London. Now when I use it, sometimes can be a wee bit too candy but much better than Taylors or Truffitt.

This is a very strong slightly sweet citrus scent of lime, a cheerful monotheme.
