Description
In the Musc Collection presented in 2010, besides fragrances for men and women Musc for Him Musc for Her, a stronger version of fragrance Essence was introduced – named Essence Musc Eau De Parfum.
These three fragrances were created to honour musk, which is designer Narcisu Rodriguez’s favourite fragrance.
Essence Musc Eau de Parfum is a more intense version of the first fragrance Essence; a sensual ode to musk, based on floral and powdery nuances surrounded with sensual and strong musk notes. Central ingredient is musk, above which is a powdery cloud of iris, floral rose nuances, along with a resin-like sound of benzoin, warm wood and mystical incense.
Fragrance Essence Musc Eau de Parfum is available as 50 and 100ml EDP, as limited edition, from September 2010. Flacons are created of glass and coloured in metallic grey nuances.

I just can’t handle the initial smell *puke* In the beginning, this smells very metallic, very woody (not in a good way to me) and… children’s glue. It’s also very soapy, and the smell manages to invade my mouth, which is the point I really want to run from it. I didn’t shower myself in this fragrance – I just applied a few drops onto my wrist – the me it has quite huge sillage at this point, and lasts very long – good for them who like it. When this dries down, it’s a clean detergent smell (not very natural, but I like detergent smells) with musk and something fresh-smelling. I don’t really like musk – it reminds me too much of fur. I DO like the detergent smell – it’s very fresh but something in this perfume ruins it for me, and I think it might be the musk. It’s as if the clean linens smell gets ruined by a sweaty cat lying on them :/

Opens a bit harsh with a metallic alcohol-ish note, changes into fresh, clean laundry in about half an hour. The benzoin and incense make an appearance right at the end, but thread through the whole life of the fragrance, warming it up, and making it stronger than the original Essence.

What I find: A metallic top note of steaming linen, a floral heart, mostly of rose, with musk. The rose here is pretty abstract, like only part of the rose scent profile is used. The musk gets steadily woodier as it dries down, intensifying the note. As the perfume dries into the base it does have a wisp of incense, very clean and smooth, if such a thing exists. This is a bit soapy, less soap bubbles and more unwrapped bar of unused soap that you’re reluctant to use because it is so nice.
What I don’t find: Iris.
Wears close to the skin, but projects a bit and lasts forever (8+ hours) if some is caught on your clothes.
I do like this, in many ways it reminds me of Estee Lauder Pure White Linen, with its fresh linen, clean laundry drying in the sun and then pressed with floral starch water. I wear a spray or two to bed mostly, it’s very relaxing.

Based on the positive reviews and the notes listed here (especially incense which I LOVE), I figured I’d adore this flanker…but alas, it’s not for me.
This musc intense version has way too much floral going on. Which may have been tolerable if I could detect the incense which for whatever reason I just couldn’t. Likewise, the musk note wasn’t as prominent as I’d have liked it to have been either. That said, it’s not a bad fragrance by any stretch. If you prefer more floral/less musk type scents..as many folks do.
Ultimately, I just prefer the simplicity of the original Essence, which to me is more of a straight forward lightly sweetened soapy musk, with no screaming flowers – just the ‘essence’ of freshly washed skin and nothing more.
Anyway, I have a barely touched 3.3 oz. musc intense bottle up for swap if anyone’s interested, please message me.

This is what the original should of been but wasn’t. In this version you can pick up more iris, just a tiny bit less musk ( which is good ), vs the original is more old lady and more soapy musk. I personally can’t stand the original on me, but I confidently ordered this version blind, and didn’t miss.

I was hoping for a dark, dirty musk but on me, not so much. The floral notes are very prominent and take over. I get a waxy, heady smell of flowers and a soapy musk as a base.

this is a truly amazing scent , I have all the other Narciso frag’s and this one stands out by a mile.. lasts forever, gets plenty of compliments.. and is one of the best blind buys I’ve bought.
This is one of the best scents to wear on my skin.. it just bounces of my skin. So dark, so sensual, simply awesome.

I’ve owned this for a few years now and I still love it. I prefer this to the original Essence as it has the added touch of wood and incense that makes it darker and more mysterious. This is a serious, mature and confident scent, and extremely sexy. It also exudes an air of aloofness, which can be a bit intimidating. I think that’s why men like this perfume, but not in the same way they like sweet, vanilla scents. Those attributes are also beautifully translated into a simple yet stunning bottle.
This works best for me in the colder months. As much as I adore it in the winter, I abhor it in the summer: too nauseating and heavy. This is silly, but sometimes I’ve found myself wishing summer would go away sooner just so I can wear my beloved Essence Musc EDP Intense again.

On my skin, this closely resembles Essence. It’s just that this one is more intense! I actually prefer Essence over this version, because this one can be a bit much at times, but they both have that magical, chilly quality to the musk note that the iris and incense seem to be imparting. It’s a gorgeous scent. It makes me think of snowy winters.

When I think of a floral, woody, musc, scent I usually think something warm and soft. This is not the case with Essence Musc Intense. It is musc, musc, musc, no false advertising there but it is also chilly.
It’s like walking into a deep freeze that is scented. The rose in this is very icy feeling and there’s a stong metallic edge to the whole composition. Very interesting…..I believe that the iris and the incense really combine to make a very different take on this version of Essence. The wood is definately a strong background player in this as well. It helps to give it a bit of depth and edge. It’s not in your face but it’s unmistakably present.
This is a somewhat sexy and yet very wearable fragrance. It’s very well done and I can see it being used from day into night. It doesn’t scream femme fatale nor does it suggest innocence. It does relay a certain individuality though. It doesn’t smell like the perfume next door. That works for me.

this is for the die-hards who are not afraid of scents….yes it’s strong. yes it’s powerful. yes it is overwhelming at the start. but when it softens and calms down there’s a fine, subtile, musky, flowery and female scent that warms you….especially in the colder months…the incense makes it a kind of mystic…i love it!

I remember NR for him being so musky and strong I could barely smell it aftter a while. I still love the original and a guess I love this one too.
I am hanging out for him to do something new though.

I daubed my skin with this new release at fragrance counter when I was passing by, but never made a note of the name. It dried down to the most wonderful scent and I was hooked. I spent the next few months trying to find it again!!
