Versace is launching a new fragrance for men – Eros inspired by and deeply connected with Greek mythology. The aim of this edition is to reveal and release unrestrained passion and to accentuate desire. The fragrance was named after Greek god of love and son of goddess Aphrodite – Eros. Inspiration by ancient Greece has lasted since the time when Gianni Versace raised his fashion empire and took goddess Medusa as symbol of the brand to adorn numerous products of the house, among them also the new flacon of men’s fragrance Eros.
The new perfume Eros is the first in the past five years to be launched and aimed at men. Donatella Versace‘s desire was to fit the fragrance into the concept of the Versace brand and to depict style and significance of long-lasting design, quality and popularity. “Eros is truly the DNA of the house of Versace” – explains Donatella. “We have a Greek motive making us think about ancient Greece, antiquities and mythology, while turquoise color represents the Mediterranean. That is Versace!”
Eros was created by Aurelien Guichard of Givaudan and it was announced as fresh, woody and slightly oriental. The fragrance includes mint oil combined with green apple and Italian lemon. Warmth is provided by tonka mixed with Venezuelan ambroxan and geranium flowers giving a fougere twist to the fragrance this way.
Flacon of the new fragrance for men Eros is created of turquoise color glass with head of Medusa on the body of the bottle and on its top. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml EDT, along with accompanying perfumed body care products. Face of the advertising campaign is Brian Shimansky, while photographers are Mert & Marcus. Donatella wanted a man-gladiator for the new campaign, who is fighting for what he wants, fighting for his goals. “This is a fragrance for a man who is his own master. He is a hero: a man who defends their ideas and goals.” – stated Donatella Versace.

Brooklyn Fragrance Lover on YouTube convinced me to test this fragrance after watching his review on Versace Eros and seeing it pop up in a few of his Top 10 lists. I was always visually drawn to this fragrance’s packaging with its textured blue bottle, but I never had the desire to smell this fragrance until now.
Versace Eros is a smooth, slightly powdery masculine fragrance that I can’t wait to test on my partner’s skin when next at the department store. I love the way the perfumer has incorporated a note of fresh, green mint into this fragrance’s scent pyramid. Most masculines that feature this note are fresh, Summer-appropriate scents with some kind of citrusy opening. Versace Eros, on the other hand, is a warm, woodsy masculine with mint added as an element of sweetness and dimension, making Versace Eros quite unique in its approach.
If you enjoy fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, Marc Jacobs Bang Bang, Joop! Homme, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male or The One Gentleman by Dolce & Gabbana, you’ll probably really enjoy this fragrance. It is a sweeter masculine, so it won’t appeal to everyone, but in terms of what I personally like, this is right up my alley.
Many reviewers have noted that Versace Eros has strong, bold projection on the skin. I don’t deny that this fragrance does have throw, however, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a ‘powerhouse’. I honestly believe that with 2-4 sprays, you could quite easily wear Versace Eros to the office. Increase the number of sprays, then yes, it would be appropriate as a night-time or Winter scent.
The longevity is also superb, lasting a decent 8 hours on my skin. Although I feel that I would enjoy this fragrance far better on my partner’s skin, I also feel comfortable wearing it myself. You could definitely gender-bend Versace Eros and I would highly doubt that anyone would even notice.

This has been my signature fragrance for the last two years. It is a gorgeous fragrance and I really enjoy it. I recently purchased a Versace Eros after shave and it is the best after shave I have ever had in my life… it is thick and creamy…I highly recommend it.

As my fragrance collection has expanded, this one still stands out. My routine when applying a scent is always the same: one or two sprays on the wrists that go on my neck and one last spray on the wrists. With this one, only two sprays total. Its the only fragrance I have that anyone has ever said I smell too strong. On me, Eros performs like a god! I simply love this stuff! From the fruity opening to the gorgeous vanilla dry down it is just a winner. I just started dating again (no time) after finishing my latest and last degree. I wear this on most dates because it will last the whole evening and still be going strong at the end of the night. I can say this with absolute certainty: women seem to really love and respond favorably to Eros. Every date I’ve worn it on my date has commented that she likes my “cologne.” This stuff is a single guy’s dream. Now, don’t take that out of context…a woman is going to like your smell up close but you still have to make any potential magic happen. There’s absolutely no fragrance that will “get you laid.” However, this is a great choice for date night! Only negative I may have is that it may be too much for the workplace.

Hi all. I have a 2018 batch of this scent. I can’t judge these batches. I read that people wrote that these batches are very poor in longevity and sillage. I tried it several times. The scent itself is the same as the other batches (2016 and 2017) but people didn’t notice me when I wore it. But on my skin it is very strong and I can still smell it in the end of the day after a shower too. When I wore the 2016 and 2017 batches my brother always complained that it is too strong and he didn’t stand this scent on myself. So I don’t know. But on my pull I can smell Eros days later too. Does anyone have experiences with the 2018 batches? Thanks. (Batch CG1803)

It is a refined fragrance for me. It is extremely pleasant and inoffensive but don t overspray. It is for young men but can be weared any occasion because smells like innocent mint vanilla. Except for summer , you can wear it Wienerwald you want

Perfume that is not worthy of the name that leads … Eros should make you think of Greek mythology and among the ingredients I see nothing related to ancient Greece but only ingredients that have not been good at putting together. Starting from apple and vanilla ending with mint and ambroxan … A green, sweet and woody scent that does not hold up the many ingredients. A confusing mix of stuff. One thing is either white or black and if you sometimes mix with ingredients that are difficult to put together, it does not always succeed. In this case, versace did not make it. However my praise goes to the bottle, very beautiful and particular.

Quick take: This is a beautifully minty vanilla that projects like crazy on my skin. The ideal setting for this cologne would be outdoors and in cooler months. This smells great out on a fall wkd with friends- perhaps tailgating. Caution: limit sprays. Overdoing this one could leave your with an all day headache. On me I do one chest and one back. Let the cologne do the rest!
Edit: after reading other posts I’m now aware of a reformulation. In this case I’d need to smell it to see, but if some may find that the original can be overpowering then a toned down version may not be true to the original beast mode but it may be easier to wear

Surprisingly feminine. I can smell a lot of the apple sweetness in the top notes, and citrus and an unmentioned musk in the base notes. I don’t smell the mint. This is not a typical cologne.

I’m going to have to agree with the others below who say the new bottles are reformulated and the performance is trash. I just purchased a new 2018 bottle and it’s performance is horrible. I’ve tested it many times along side other designer fragrances in the same genre .i sprayed Eros on one arm and the other fragrance on the other arm. Eros would dry up very quickly while the others remained wet and oily where i sprayed for long after. Eros barely projected for an hour and half and even during that time I had to put my nose within a few inches to get a decent whiff. What a bummer to what was once a top performer.

I love it! The smell brings to my mind Christmas, which is a very lovely period of course. Sweet smell of mint, vanilla, apple and tonka bean together is sexy. But, this time a heavier scent and, a classic one too that fits on any occasion and, any weather except on a very hot day which I don’t think that would be a wise thing to do. Anyways, I agree with all been said about longevity and sillage. For me, this is almost a beast perfume for a good price.
Finally, my 16 y.o son enjoyed it too so, this is a perfect scent for father and son 🙂

I have 26 fragrances and this is my #1. I can only wear it when it’s cooler/cold. It is the club banger to end all other club bangers. Compliments, Price, Longevity, Silage, Scent…. it’s all there. If you are a young man and hitting the clubs on a weekend night, Eros is an outstanding choice. When your body heat starts rising and the fragrance starts projecting it’s sweet vanilla mint, girls go crazy. I love Eros.

I have to revise my first review. Turned out I grew into this perfume, especially in the drydown. Rather unique.
But I still can’t wear it daily or during the day. Projection is so strong it’s like you’re heralding your presence. I like fragrance that incites curiosity and sniffing-around, kinda in the background. This, is not that. This, is foreground!
Don’t spray too much, otherwise you will smell so sweet people around you can get diabetes.

Wore it today and still love it. Not an every day scent, not an office scent, and don’t believe Jeremy Fragrance saying Eros is for teenagers. I have nothing against JF, I rather like the guy, but he’s just wrong about Eros being only for teen guys. Mature gentlemen can wear this easily and it’s perfect for a date night with the wife or partner. Any man can rock this who has the confidence to pull it off, and an out going personality.
After this was tagged by Youtubers as a so-called clubbing fragrance and the infamous ‘panty dropper’ (ridiculous word) it started to get hated on because every horny teen kid and his brother wore it to pick up girls. Well, don’t let all that fool you. Women in their 30’s and 40’s also find this scent sexy and enjoyable. But again, if you are the quiet and shy type and lack confidence and maturity, then by all means don’t wear Eros because then it will smell juvenile on you.

Update: It appears to be true that newer batches of Eros are weak as hell. My business partner bought a 2017 and he only gets 1-2 hours projection and it quickly becomes a skin scent. So I suggest you hunt down an older bottle.

I own both Versace Eros and English Laundry – Oxford Bleu. Trust me, go with Oxford Bleu, it’s what Eros should’ve been. They are essentiallythe same scent but OB is more refined imo.

A good scent but generic. You will smell like everyone else. But I can’t say anything about generic because I have Versace Dylan Blue which I love and it is generic as well. This does smell a lot like Axe body spray but more refined. Vanilla, apple, mint, cedar are what I pick up the most. Definitely a younger mans scent. I would say highschool and college aged. It smells like a fun night. Great for going out. It does perform very well. I was walking ahead of a co-worker about 10 hours after I sprayed this on and she complimented me on it. Great longevity, sillage is heavy for the first 5-6 hours and then gets smaller. But doesn’t become a skin scent for 10 hours at least haha.

اِروس با یه آکورد نعنایی و تر و تازه شروع میشه (ترکیبی از سیب، نعنا و مرکبات) که توسط روایح رایج فلزی ـ ازندار احاطه شدن، هر چند در پس زمینه یه رایحه خوشایند و کمی قابل پیش بینی(برای این تیپ عطرها) از نت های گرم، غنی و خوشبوی چوبی ـ ادویه ای وجود داره (بیشتر از همه دانه تونکا و چوب سدر). شیرین و کاملا “کنترل شده” است، که شاید این بخاطر ترکیب تنباکو و پچولی که توسط رایحه وانیل پوشیده شدن باشه ـ جنبه “غیر عادی” اینه که مجموع این نت ها عملاً بوی خوب و نابی درومده، بهتر از عطرهای متداول. من دو فاکتور ظریف که در کارهای نیش دیده میشه رو اینجا احساس می کنم، برای مثال رایحه امبروکسان که احساسی “مدرن” رو پدید میاره (و کامل توسط آلدئید ها تقویت شده) ـ که خیلی بی شباهت به محصولات نیش چند سال اخیر نیست. همچنین یکی دیگه از فاکتورهای “نیش” که تو این کار دیده میشه برا من بعضی از تضادهاییه که این رایحه روی اون بنا شده ـ یک شروع نعنایی ترش مزه و یک پایان تقریبا خوراکی مانند که کاملا شیرین، گرم و صمغی، و همچنین دودی هست. در کل رایحه ای امن و عامه پسند داره، اما اگه با دقت بیشتری اون رو بو کنید متوجه میشید اونقدری که ممکنه به نظر بیاد، عادی و متداول نیست. و قطعا یه کار قابل قبول هست. بعلاوه، اروس یه سیر تکاملی غیرمنتظره ی خوب داره: جای اینکه رایحه یکسان بمونه و فقط خشک تر و سبک تر بشه، این عطر با گذشت زمان ملایم تر، گرم تر، صمغی تر و در واقع خوشایندتر میشه. من این رو چند ساعتی میشه که استفاده کردم و الان بطور قابل ملاحظه ای بهتر شده از قبل. اروس، چیز فوق العاده و جدیدی نیست، اما بد نیست و خیلی هم خسته کننده نیست.

I tried it today and got a glimpse of what would have been an absolute clubbing masterpiece. One of the most pure and delicious smelling vanilla notes I’ve ever tried, but it had about 3 inches of projection and was gone from my wrist in about 5 hours. Absolutely appalling how neutered this fragrance seems to have become. I can just envision the mushroom cloud of a trail this would of had and its effect in the club when it was released. If anything can be learned from Eros its first off, to not waste your money on the current batches, but also to keep on top of whats being released and never to be late to the party because parties do eventually end and THIS is what you’re left with.

It’s a beast, works exceptional in winter day scent even in office as long as you don’t overspray. Mont blanc legend night is possibly better for an office. (Eros is if you want to make a statement). Eros works great in the winter, it cuts through the cold and lasts all day.
Highly recommend it before they reformulate it and it becomes scented water like la nuit.

I put this beast on first time at Macys where I never smelled it before. I’ll admit that at first I wasn’t too fond of it but once I put it actually on my skin (and not on the darn test paper because on skin you will always get better results) and let the scent dry down holy molly I fell in love on a new level.
This fragrance is a beast. It will definitely get you noticed! I probably would not wear it to an office environment as it will fill the room with a cloud of mint, vanilla, and green apple which will be overwhelming. I totally adore the smell. I think it sort of grew on me like crazy after I drove home and had to go back to pickup a bottle. The scent becomes so sweet especially when you get a bit sweaty so I can see this really shining at a clubbing scene or just going out even. The projection and longevity is insane; easily 12+ hours. I smell it on my clothes even 3 days later.
I love the look of the bottle especially! This is a must in everyone’s collection if you like mint/vanilla/tonka bean but I can see why some may have mixed feelings about it.

One of my fave perfumes,actually I just discovered some few months ago. I thought I never like it cause the vanilla was too sweet and not good in Philippine hot weather from March to May. But, when the mint came up then it was a fantastic and lovable smell. Many people took a look on me everytime I rode a public transport.

This is a tough one. Lots of girls love it. I can honestly understand some dislike but not hate. I bought this beacuse many girls do love it. I get a very creamy but tart vanilla with this fragrance. But my reason for dislike is that I find that it is too sweet and much much to strong. I honestly believe it has a purpose as a frag and is powerful and would stand out in a club type situation. Where your frag will stand out strong. But to be it’s to strong in the Vanilla. And if I’m going to go to a club I honestly would wear something less popular anyways :/ … such as pure xs by paco rabanne I find it’s beautiful. It’s vanilla ginger myrrh sugar liquor. It comes off as a sexy vanilla rum and coke I love it.. it’s also a powerhouse but I find less one dimensional as Eros. Also to Eros is so overly sweet just vanilla that if sprayed on em empty stomach it’s slightly nauseating.

Sniffed my 5 year bottle again, I cannot detect any mint here of what so ever. I don’t remember smelling mint when I first used it either. To me it’s all about sugary apples and vanilla, but mostly apples.

Pros: Affordable for students. The projection and sillage of it are just wow! I bought this as my second cologne from versace along with dylan blue. I own a 1 oz for more than a couple of years. I prefer well blended sophisticated scents. This however DOES NOT come as a sophisticated scent, well blended. More of a teen vibe with this fragrance. It does have a little playfulness in its character, Amberoxan is a silent scent booster. Girls love the scent of Amberoxan.
In this case the amberoxan is mixed with a creamy vanilla (sweetness) and a bit apple, Tonka has been thrown to the back ground, never gets to you like some other fragrance.
The best time with this scent is 30 mins to 3 hrs mark. After that, it smells more like any other fragrance.
I kinda guess why this is being disliked, the opening on this one is usual, very synthetic. Wait for the 30 mins mark, as this dries down the vanilla starts to sneak out , the symphony starts.

This scent puts a Cloud of Vanilla in the Air, it projects pretty insane so it’s best in something like a club environment or where you are gonna be drinking (masks the drunk sweat).
It was one of the first frags I really thought was great but it’s very 1 dimensional.
This scent does 1 thing very well, it gets you noticed because of the big ass cloud of Vanilla that you will be projecting for 3 hours pretty intensely. That is the beast mode ppl are talking about, this thing projects a big light on you saying “Look at me, i’m the one who’s air you’re breathing” because when you wear Eros all the air in a 5 FT radius belongs to you for the next 3 hours and where ever you walk there will be a pretty epic cloud Trail that you leave making sure everyone knows exactly which way you left.
If you plan on going on a Date where you are driving your Date around (not taking different cars) then I highly recommend not wearing this because she (or he) will not be able to breathe in the Car with you in it!
If you plan on going out to eat, make sure you get a patio / outside table because if you are just sitting down in a room with all those other ppl, they will surely notice that their Food tastes remarkably like your Fragrance!
This Scent is pretty obscene tbh, there maybe Niche frags that smell more powerful for sure but this is Designer so more ppl have access to it, this is even more douchey than 1 Million because it’s still newer (some ppl are just now finding Eros) than 1 Million.
People don’t really wear 1 Million anymore and even if they did there are few (non-frag heads) who actually remember what 1 Million smells like (but they can absolutely tell you when someone is wearing Sauvage).
Don’t wear this scent to work, in Cars with other people, in Restaurants (without sitting outside), Movie Theaters..Basically any confined sort of space just no.
Now if you want to be a dick, wear it to a Restaurant without sitting in the patio / outside section, in a Car with others (don’t roll down the windows either if you wanna be a major dick), Theaters.
Scent: 4/10 (it’s not that it smells bad but it doesn’t smell good either, it’s just obnoxious to the point where it screams “look at me”)
Projection: 9/10 (for 3+ hours everyone within 5+ ft will ABSOLUTELY SMELL Where you’ve BEEN and Where you are going!) for anyone who thinks this doesn’t project, you guys are the type of assholes who over spray this obnoxious scent and then wonder why you don’t get compliments! Uhh you just sprayed 5+ Sprays and literally everyone is breathing in your fumes! They are just being nice when they don’t tell you how obnoxiously overpowered your B.O + Vanilla Cloud is!
If you are trying to wear this to work, then treat it like you would Sauvage (which is still way safer for professional jobs) 2 sprays MAX, you might even just do 1 on the Back of the Neck and you’ll be good. You don’t need 3-4+ sprays for work with this unless you are a Male Gogo Dancer
I own this scent, I know it pretty well; there is a big line that you just don’t want to cross when you wear this frag, there isn’t much subtley with Eros either and people have been smelling this scent pretty heavily in the nightlife for a few years now.
Yes you can absolutely still wear it but probably not indoors unless it has amazing ventilation or you don’t mind people knowing exactly where you’ve been and going.
Less is More 100% absolutely spot on with this Frag.

I disagree with jeremy fragrance who called Eros the most un-versatile fragrance ever and only good for clubbing, That doesn’t make sense, while I like him sometimes he doesn’t have any clue what he is talking about.
Anyways, Eros is a fragrance that makes everybody around you feel comforting and it gravitate them with its beautiful aura.
That vanilla is so addictive, maybe it’s synthetic but it blended perfectly with tonka, mint, apple and the other notes.
Eros is also a great fragrance to wear on a date, most of the girls find this scent sexy. It will get the job done. It also has a great performance but not beastly like one million, But smells way better than one million.

Went to the perfumery twice to check out this fragrance. Great scent, but unfortunately I don’t get the beast mode performance that everybody is talking about. Very disappointing, but for that reason it’s a no go for me. 🙁

I adore this fragrance. It’s got some spice, smells very masculine and sexy. Whenever I have tested this in store it immediately makes me smile every single time. Extremely long lasting, it is very impressive. I sprayed it on a card to take home and it lasted for days. I will be buying this for my partner soon. Overall a great, confident and manly scent. Something quite special about it for me.

This was my summer signature scent. I have had bottles from 2012 through 2018. The projection and longevity were incredible until the last bottle I purchased with a batch made in 2018. What a disappointment. I won’t be buying this one again (unless I confirm the batch year). Always got compliments. Now no one notices it.

I’m surprised that this one is so underrated, because I think Eros is a masterpiece.
From opening to its drydown, fascinating. I can’t believe how long this sexy boy lasts, especially for its ridiculous price. Easily lasts for up to 6 hours on two sprays with good projection and I still can sniff it for another 6 hours or so.
Scent – an easy 9.8/10
Longevity – 9.6/10
Projection – 9.2/10
Overall – 9.5/10 (Very Solid!)

I always seemed to bypass this whenever I came into Macy’s or Sephora, a friend of mine suggested Versace Eros and finally I got to sample it in Sephora. I’m glad I did, it’s such a versatile scent, a sexy scent that projects very well. I’m mostly using it for dates, movies, clubs and outdoor events.

Mint, vanilla, tonka bean, apple. A beast mode fragrance. The clubbing solution according to Versace.
When you decide to release a clubbing scent, I guess you don’t try to be subtle. This is exactly what Eros is not: Eros is vanilla in your face, cannons of mint, a factory of tonka bean and the back of your car loaded with apples.
You’ll also get vetiver and cedar wood for the drydown, but mostly, what you smell first is what you’ll get.
I like it for what is it, some kind of vanilla and mint monster that eats your skin even after a shower. Seriously, it sticks to you.
The ambroxan is fine to me (It’s like a cheat code in a video game, not much honour, but it gets the job done) and if you’re okay with tripping on a fragrance for more than 16 hours go for it! (I know it sounds crazy, people reports much less longevity).
This is very playful, bold, not that elegant but more like the scent of someone who wants to get laid, a scent with an everlasting sweetness in case you dont find true love for a night until 3am.
You can compete with other clubbing scents with this one. It will stand out. Eros wont make you a desirable person. You have to be a nice guy too.
If you like Eros but you think it’s too much, try La Nuit de l’homme eau Électrique YSL. It’s like a toned down version of Eros, a bit more mature and subtle. If you have grey hair like me, it’s a good choice if you dont feel legit wearing Eros.
I have mixed feelings about Eros, but im a Versace guy. Most of their stuff does it for me. As for Eros, I just wish the trip would evolve a little more and wouldnt be so… simple and longlasting.
A scent for a function. Attraction doesnt have to be complex, sometimes, just a whiff of vanilla and the fun begins.

I am wearing a 2018 batch. It is the first batch I ever tried and performance is not impressive on my skin. I applied two sprays on one of my arms 4 hours ago and it is now a skin scent. It is winter where I live so maybe that has an impact on the performance. I will save this for summer and see if I can get better longevity and projection.
