This is NOT a review for Entre Nous, but for another spicy fragrance from Bourbon French:
Cameo Noir!
Recently I was gifted two delightful roll ons from this house, and each impressed me with their quality. Both have moderate longevity and sillage, performing consistently better than many mainstream designer roll ons. (The small amount applied by these roll ons seems to work for me only with concentrated oils/attars. Happily, not so with Bourbon French!)
The scent of Cameo Noir is deep incense in a classic, earthy, grounded manner. Resin, spice, musk, purrrrr…..
Lovers of Tabu take note! To me it is as though Tabu were completely reworked and came out of another perfumer’s imagination. The sweet root beer is gone, and edgy incense dominates. It also reminds me vaguely of Rani J’s Ambre Loup – but without the dominant vanilla strongly influencing that composition. And since Rania lists her gorgeous incense fragrance as unisex, Cameo Noir must be likewise? To me it is more female than male in style… But! This is a woman with attitude. Cameo Noir could easily be pulled of by an adventurous male.
Rating – Five stars.
Note – As an historic New Orleans perfumery, Bourbon French has many treats in store for everyone. The price point of these roll ons is quite reasonable, and a variety of other bath products are available for each scent. ENJOY!
