JTF103 – :
Launched in 2013, Enigma is defined as a floral-aquatic-woody fragrance, which represents the delicacy of the meeting between the Prunella (also known as Herb-of-healing, Self-heal, etc.) and the aromatic freshness of Rosemary. Its inspiration was the cryptic underside of the oceans.
In its official composition, Enigma has output notes of bergamot, Rosemary, Prunella and calone (synthetic compound with refreshing and ozonic nuances). The body of the fragrance carries floral notes of jasmine and ylang-ylang, while the base is composed with notes of sandalwood and myrrh.
But before talking about the fragrance and its evolution on the skin, I have to tell you something important: Enigma is an Extract disguised as Eau de Toilette! The projection is absurd and does not give one minute of rest. On my skin, it lasted more than 10 hours with few sprays.
With respect to the scent itself, I think Enigma seems more sensible if worn by women. The classification of the perfumer is perfect, since it is a true floral-aquatic. The Prunella note, for those who don’t know, results in a fruity and slightly fresh aroma, similar to the smell of ripe plums, although the plant is part of the Mint family.
On the skin, the feeling is the same of being bathed with water of flowers. The calone gives the marine nuances and the flowers do the rest. The base takes over three hours to appear and does not present much of a difference, anyway. The myrrh is there, deep down, nearly drowned in that enigmatic Ocean. The ylang-ylang, however, dominates the evolution for several moments, seeming too powerful, in a certain way.
The fragrance is very well made and perfumes without fear. I think it’s a great choice for everyday use in places with hot climates, like here in Brazil. And with respect to the concept, instead of encounter the mystery of the depth of the oceans and their beings that glow in the dark, I was surprised by sirens, who emerged with her hypnotic singing.
To finish, the bottle follows the pattern of the initial line of the company, which now has new image with the latest collection, called Legends and Myths.
