Nothing groundbreaking, but a pleasant scent for when a warm fire is crackling in the fireplace, cold winds are howling– and/or snow is falling, and cuddling commences on the couch. The chestnut, sage, pink pepper, and soft vanilla blend well with the woods. My only sweet scent, but a good cologne if you don’t already have one that is similar to it and better than some of the more expensive alternatives.

cardamom and pepper out of the gate; lovely in the top; gets more fougere and herbal as it dries down; not a vanilla scent; woody and herbal with a sweetness

To me this opens with the sweeter, slightly gourmand notes and then the aromatic spices take the upper hand. Perhaps strangely to some reading this but after a while it reminds me of several crowd-pleasing scents such as Mb Legend Spirit, Azzaro Wanted, PR Invictus and Kenzo PH Parfum. There is an underlying freshness there to my nose, possibly due to the lavender & mint, which provides an alluring contrast to the warmer sweet & cosy notes of vanilla, candied chestnuts and amber.
This stuff would be great for a night out in my opinion, particularly on the cooler days but could be worn any time of the year really (except extreme heat).
I’m surprised at the low score and number of negative comments/dislikes for this one, a solid release from Armani if not groundbreaking (perhaps people expect more from them). However there may be other more affordable alternatives around.

I quite liked it, Stronger With You is not the most original scent in the market, but it is a pleasant aroma with good performance. Vanilla, chestnut with cardamom in the background are the main notes for me.SWY is sweet but not cloyingly so, very pleasant. If it was cheaper in Brazil it would be FBW, as it is a decant will have to suffice.
The feminine version, Because It’s You I smelled a rash raspberry, unbalanced on my skin, I really hated.

I tried this not remembering it was supposed to be a men’s scent—not that I care, really, but just putting it out there. I am female.
As background, there’s a particular note (or perhaps combination of notes) that seems fairly prevalent in many modern scents. (Is it the amberwood? It might be the amberwood.) I despise this note, when in high concentration, with the heat of a thousand suns! In very small doses, I do not mind it and can even like the rest of the scent.
To me, Stronger With You is like 98% this horrible-to-me note(s) and 2% vanilla. As soon as I sprayed it on my arm, that’s all I got and I literally swore under my breath and scrounged around for anything to mop it up. A tester card doesn’t work well for this purpose, but it’s all I had. Note to self: carry around wipes! Anyway, I wore this scent around for several hours, because it refused to go away. I got a little bit of vanilla later on, so that’s the 2%. At least I can say the sillage and longevity of this scent are excellent.
I hate, hate, hate this scent and I think this might be what I smell all the time on the street/subway on random people. It is entirely noxious to me. I am so sorry to those who enjoy Stronger with You—clearly I am not smelling the same thing other people are smelling!
Just wanted to add that I really hate the marketing behind both this and Because of You. Dumb names, dumb concept, don’t even like the juices. Bleargh! I can’t think of an Armani scent I actually really like, so I guess this house continues to be not my thing.
EDIT: Oh, the juice was also pink in the tester. It isn’t pink in the ads…

Definitely a fall/winter fragrance, unless you use it sparsely.
It’s a sweet fragrance but counterbalanced with light fruit and herbal notes. Luckily it doesn’t fall into tacky territory like Spicebomb or 1Million.
This is an elegant gourmand, rounded and well presented.
A good perfume to wear for the Holidays.

I heard good things about this perfume, so I tested it today. Note breakdown seems interesting aswell.
Whoever like this scent, I am sorry guys you probably like everything. This foul water should have been named invictus for fall and winter. If something could be called smelling cheap, this is candidate number one.
Of course the performance is great, as always something you don’t enjoy lasts and is detectable for quite a while.
It surely fits the latest trend of overly sweet chemical club perfumes. How can this trend end when it sells like hot cakes, but honestly I think it sells because its armani. Oh what an artistic house for perfumes.
I think if you graduated from school, you are too old for this. This is like the complete opposite of a classy perfume.

@zenais: I commented wrongly the female scent here – I dislike the female scent but love the male one

    @Clross26
I have a sample of that fragrance and while I would agree that there is a remote similarity in tone and thickness, there is something disharmonious and grandfatherly about “Fireplace” which, despite having a certain liking for abstraction or something that is more demanding, to me personally does not speak.

  10. :

    5 out of 5

There is something about this fragrance, something that I would describe as meaty. In contrast to “M7 Oud Absolu” by Yves Saint Laurent, which I have described similarly, it has been blended to be enjoyed. There is also some comparison that I would draw to “Orange Sunset” by Hugo Boss in regards to delicate touches in both fragrances, but that may be more of an emotional association. I understand how some would refer to the fragrance as lacking in complexity, however it may be dense rather than simple and aside from that, sometimes simple may be wonderful as well. Like a heated slice or two of multigrain toast with a generous layer of a French garlic and herbs cream cheese with a little bit of a darker fruit jam added atop, or a long and warm hug from a significant other. I have to add, one of the things that I dislike amongst the things that these days seem to make me dislike, “classy” would be included. And I have a suggestion for a possible eau de parfum concentration, namely to name it “Stronger Than You”. I know, I know, and not to cater to disgusting machism, but I really would like the vanilla drydown to be somewhat more prominent and perhaps more interweaved into the first stages. The fragrance seems to be a little fleeting on me, but I might also have overapplied this inverted melon and meat juice reduction, whatever that may mean and by the way it could gladly be cultured meat, recently.

very generic winter fragrance. probably the most boring armani creation. 3/10

  14. :

A sweeter, simpler, softer version of by the fireplace. I Find this to be more wearable occasionally than by the fireplace. I feel by the fireplace to be too intimate of a scent to be worn at just any time. I like that stronger with you is toned down. It’s very aromatic and loveable. I will be getting this for fall and winter this year.

    1 year later…
SWY has been reformulated. The liquid has a pink colour now and smells like a weaker version closer to azzaro wanted. Thanfully, I have an OG batch.
Sad that this one has been reformulated.

Smells like ultra male without the pear and the vanilla isnt as authentic. Sweet, inviting and women love it.

I remember when this got a lot of hate from the community and, to an extent, I can understand why. I’m not going to lie and say that this doesn’t rub me the wrong way sometimes. On my skin I need to give it about 4 sprays to each wrist to create a good cloud around me that lasts. Any more, I choke. Any less, it’s gone within 2 hours. Now, I’ve also heard it called feminine… but I’d also say that fragrances like Dior Homme lean feminine too and that’s now one of the best men’s scents around.
This fragrance however is definitely different to Dior Homme. It’s a sweet, spicy and straight up scratchy vanilla fragrance. Can be grating, can be stunning. I personally love it when used enough and in the right seasons.

When my husband sprayed this from the tester, I thought it smelled great on him! Very spicy, woody vanilla scent. At another shop the customer service guy asked if he was wearing a middle eastern fragrance as that what he smelled. Of course the perfume smells similar to other fragrances but not everyone would smell the same. Definitely a colder season scent. I am encouraging him to buy it cos in my case it’s a panty dropper!!!

Another year, another Armani scent. At least this time, Armani released a pillar rather than another flanker.
Let’s just run down the Armani checklist real quick.
Is it sweet? YES. Is it sorta bland? Yup! Is it a damn decent scent regardless of that? Damn straight.
I’ll admit it. I am a total sucker for these type of mainstream sweet scents, when they just work like 1 Million or Spicebomb. Maybe it’s my age (28) or the fact that my friend circle wears these, but there is a certain allure to just smelling good, and not annoying everybody in your vicinity.
Will this win creative awards? Hell no. But, lets just remember one thing – it’s never been supposed to.
This feels sort of like a replacement for Diamonds. Emporio Armani is Armani’s low tier brand, and is sort of designed to attract the younger audience. Diamonds was perfect for that, but at this point it’s 10 years old.
Stronger With You is a great release to conquer that market. It’s sweet enough to attract the 1 Million crowd, it’s distinctive enough to entice the millenials who believe in special experiences, and it’s high enough quality to be an upgrade from the Calvin Klein’s and Bruno Banani’s of the fragrance world.
There is no point in really discussing notes here. Take Armani Code. Mix 2 parts of that with 1 part of Diamonds and you have this.
It’s a sweet vanilla-fruity scent. Very nicely done, synthetic and long lasting.
It develops a little bit. The opened is a sort of caramelized fruit affair, which is then joined by sweet vanilla and a hint of coffee.
There isn’t much more to it. It’s a simple and honest scent that works quite well.
Personally I’d take 1 Million over it, simply because 1 Million smells better to my nose and seems better blended.
If La Nuit de L’Homme, 1 Million and Diesel Bad is your kind of thing, do give this one a try.
Longevty is above average – 7-8 hours.
    Rating: 6/10

Nice bedroom scent or for the club. This smells just like ultra male without the bubblegum scent. I got a 3.4 bottle. This juice is amazing. But doesn’t smell better than ultra male side by side.

This has come as a pleasant surprise for me! I remember using Emporio Armani Lui, and that was it for me, never again I reached for another EA fragrance.
As unbelievable this may sound, Emporio Armani Stronger With You is a great scent! You get a blast of chesnut and vanilla right from the top, pineapple is present (somehow) and then the amberwood and the vanilla walk hand-in-hand together throughout the whole 8 hours in my skin! This thing is really potent, something that is no longer seen in today’s fragrances. And the projection and sillage are very good too!
Test before you buy, it’s quite strong and may be somewhat cloying for certain people. Absolutely great for winter.

I sprayed this perfume at shop and started stopwatch. Personally I sniffed it once and didn’t like it even a bit, smelled kinda too feminine. And Yesterday I started to love it, it started to grown on me. It lasted 8 hours which is pretty good. Very sweet, kinda powdery fragrance.
    Smell – 8/10
    Longevity/Sillage – 8.5/10
    Versatility – 6/10
    Overall – 7.5 but I’ll give it 8/10

a sweet vanilla fragrance for Men. especially those who dislike strong masculine scent. however Emporio Armani SWY smell a bit feminine to me. like 30% maybe. but I still enjoy it and i love it though. finally a new released fragrance that are super long lasting and projecting well. and that’s rare nowadays.

So sickly sweet it’s unbearable. After an hour I couldn’t take it anymore as it was making me feel sick.
    It’s a headache inducing sythentic sugar-bomb.
    Awful stuff.

Don’t mind the negative views, there is no frag that can please everyone. SA at Sephora advised me SWY having a good discount and after testing I bought the bottle. My wife, who is sensitive -especially to dense frags – liked it.And this weekend, on a summer day, my mum said it smells good, although I had sprayed one or two. So,I’m pleased to have the bottle.Getting positive comments is what we expect from a frag and SWY does it.

Armani decides to release a new scent, and it’s getting a lot, I mean, a lot of hate.
It’s gourmand, yeah, it’s done in a overly pleasing way, it’s very potent, there is vanilla all around the place. Yeah, it’s a scent that has a signature, like it or not, it goes beyond the usual winter scent Armani got us used to.
Like I said, a lot of vanilla, but also cardamome and pink pepper. You will also get chesnut and amberwood.
It’s a good scent that suffer from it’s highest qualities. It’s heavily gourmand, but after a while, it might be too much. It has very good longevity, but you’re in for a sweet trip.
Maybe people who tried it didnt have the right conditions. For me, this is strictly a winter scent. I got a few reactions when it was dead winter in North Canada.
To me, this is not Code Profumo at all. This is different, more deep, more sweet (almost like syrup), comforting and elegant.
Girls seem to have a better reaction to this scent than men. I decided to vote for girls, like always.
    Thanks for reading my review!

I found it interesting. Then i decided to get a bottle. First spray till mid i found it really impressive. Smell so nice and good. I still can detect Armani Code Profumo DNA here. But the drydown turn out different way. I think the drydown turn into a bit generic notes. So far longevity is good which easily past 8 hours and project well. Glad to have it in my collection. Just try by your own rather than read other people review.

Why does this gem get so many hates? This is one of the most wonderful fragrances I ever had.
It’s sweet, classy, charming, and very long lasting. Love at first sniff is real!
I don’t think it’s for men only because I’m a woman and I can wear this perfume and still feel soooo beautiful and yummy in luxurious way.
Armani never disappointed me. Please give this perfume a try and you’ll love it!

  36. :

    5 out of 5

I have really mixed feelings about this scent. It opens very well – the pink pepper, cardamom, vanilla, violet, and cedar blend like mad. It’s aromatic, sexy and spicy. That lasts for the first half hour.
The dry down still smells great, but it fades to a sweet and safe warmth. The longevity is strong and lasts 9-10 hours on my skin.
The big disappointment is after that spicy and incredible opening, it ends smelling very synthetic. It does, however, garner a lot of compliments from women. Not elegant or refined, but it smells fantastic in the beginning. As I said, conflicting!

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t care what the negative reviews say about this one, it’s solid! A very nice scent that gets the compliments and performs. I mostly get vanilla, cardamom and chestnut.
The performance is solid, getting me a good 5/6 hrs of longevity (for me 6 hrs is real good) with 2 – 3 hrs of good projection. Going heavy on the sprays may be a little intense for some as it’s pretty sweet.
Overall, I really like this one guys. It smells nice and gets the compliments.

Not as bad as I expected. I wore Givenchy Pi for years before I got tired of smelling like a cake. This has a similar very warm feel to it as the Pi has. I think it wasn’t as bad as expected because it’s not projecting on me so I didn’t notice the scent as much. Once it dries down, it’s a nice scent. Probably not something I would reach for but if you like warmer scents, it’s at least not burning my nose with the projection. If I had to pick what it reminds me the most of it would be a cross between CK’s Obsession and not many probably remember this but the opening has a little of the women’s perfume Exclamation. Which is the “bad” part since I think every girl I dated in high school wore Exclamation.

I got an unexpected sample of this while checking out a department store. One night of testing and I new I had to have it. People talk of the chesnut and I can say that it’s no lie. What can I do,other than scream ‘I love you!’
I’m not usually one for entirely masculine scents, or even one to call a scent masculine… but this one is different. It has a similar vibe to Sauvage / BdC but also has more nuance and leans a bit floral.
It’s a bit like everything you’ve tried before but also the exact opposite. Quite paradoxical.

I smelt Emporio Armani Stronger With You a few months back and I was not wowed but I didn’t hate it. I think the this fragrance gets its dislike, is while it is nice, I think it is a dime a dozen. I don’t get Armani Code Profumo or 1 Million Privé from Stronger With You, though it fits in that style of scent. Instead I get a less boozy Invictus Intense from it. I do like the way it smells but it falls into the sweet night out/date night scent. There is just too much in that genre. If you want something different, maybe go with Stronger with You.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

The vanilla drydown on this is one of the best out there. It starts out in that spicy, sweet stereotypically masculine sort of way so many mainstream colognes do. Then it becomes warmer and warmer burning off the spices and leaving this creamiest, nicest vanilla blend behind. I’m not sure why it’s getting so much hate here. It’s delicious and sexy on a man or a woman. My favorite new men’s designer release by far. It ticks all the crowd pleaser boxes, but there is something unique here. It’s pretty, handsome. Pretty boy in a bottle. It’s not to say you can’t wear this if you are not a classic beauty though. I’ve tested it on my 5 year old, my husband who is his 60’s, my 30 something feminine self and various male coworkers and it makes me happy when I smell it on anyone. It’s addictive and I think all the haters are secretly sneaking whiffs of this fragrance and might even have a travel size bottle hidden far back in a dark closet somewhere, haha!
Oh and it lasts forever! As far as I can tell you smell like this until you wash it off.

For those who say its been done before I have news for you: 90% off all the fragrances on the market have been done before. Most people who are going to smell this (those around you) are not fragrance snobs and they seem to love it. While its not Spice bomb, One Million Prive or Ultra male it’s in the same neighborhood,a warm rich scent. Frankly I like it better than those 3 – it simply smells good regardless of whether the ingredients are natural or not.

    Manly perfume.
It’s Chestnut cream vanilled, woody, spiced, very virile, addictive…

I love the opening of this stuff. It opens up with this sweet scent which is quite alluring. It then matures into a scent which reminds me of eros. Sweet, syruppy smells of eros. It lasted about 7 hours on me with 2 hours of moderate projection.

People keep saying/asking “why Armani releasing something that has been done over and over again?”
simple answer is that there are still wide market/demand for something like this.
if you don’t feel that that market is you, just don’t buy it. there are still tons of super complex and expensive NICHE fragrances out there for you to buy.
    SIMPLE.

  57. :

A crowd pleaser. Like the fragrance equivalent of hearing a song like Don’t Stop Believing coming on to the bar jukebox. You’ve heard this song a million times before and you’re slightly sick of it but…it still gets reactions. And if you lighten up over how over familiar it feels you might enjoy it too. I have a few samples I keep in case I want something upbeat and easy.
In the Armani sales material (I work on a fragrance counter) they suggest layering with its feminine version as a kind of fragrance Voltron, and the combination is interesting, spicier than either would suggest on its own- “Stonger with You” has a intention besides just being a random tacky name I guess. I don’t love it so much to think its worth buying both bottles but if you’re in a couple it might be worth a try.

I bought this for my partner for valentines day as he was in desperate need for something that wasn’t Versace Fraiche!
After many samples later I thought I would give up finding him a fragrance as not only am I fussy about mens colognes so is he. Till the SA recommended me this fragrance I was hesitant at first as I had never heard of it before and I knew she was trying to push a sale but I sampled it regardless as valentines day was the next day. The first sniff I was intrigued so I walked around my local myer to see how this bad boy developed there was no part I dislikes top, middle & base it was sweet & manly with hints of fruit but not artificial or teenish?. in my honest opinion NOT generic as I had sniffed and sampled many that were available to me in my town and nothing came close to my nose!
I couldn’t stop smelling my arm and also the tester paper I swear I even got butterflies lol I could imagine my partner wearing this and me sniffing whatever it left it’s scent on so damn right I marched myself to the counter and bought the 50ml bottle and prayed my partner would love it as much as I.
So valentines day morning arrives and I’m grinning eat to ear in anticipation to gift this fragrance he was impressed by the box and bottle and also slightly mad I clearly spent alot on the fragrance hehe but his initial reaction was good very good as he is more picky then I. And as he is a man of few words when it comes to fragrances he said it was really nice and he liked it and was very thankful. And it may seem like he wasn’t please but he has worn it almost every day to work and outings so that’s a A++ in my opinion.
I can still smell the scent hours after he has left and it sticks yo clothing like glue the longevity and silage are amazing truly!
Three words for this fragrance? Classy sexy man.
Would I recommend this fragrance? Yes! But more for a man in his 20s to early thirties I couldn’t see a teen wearing this nor a matured man.
Disclaimer. I’m terrible at explaining notes but damn well I tried… somewhat. haha so if this hasn’t helped you go get yourself a sample and experience the panty dropper that is Emporio Armani Stronger With You. 🙂

A lot of people that says: oh it smells like bubblegum… . I think , maybe, but a lot of negatives votes are not justified. For example jpg ultra male REALLY smells like bubblegum but has not received that negatives reactions! I have a lot of fragrances… you can se on my list, but this is the most complimented of all! Not joking. Probabile it is not for mature men, but it works! All people seems going crazy for aventus , but in years i got only one compliment by it. Sams story with armaf cdni, or acqua di giò profumo. Stronger with you is not overrated, but in fragrantica is a lot Hated. The true is That when you use it, you get so many fucking compliments in a single day than one year using creed aventus ecc..

Congratulations Armani on this blend. Truly a unique discovery. Other manufacturers are bound to be clamouring to turn out something similar!
    Whoops, wait a minute………….!
How can they release this and keep a straight face?
Oh yes, they’re a shameless, greedy multinational corporation. Nice bottle though!

We all have developed nose, eh Armani. Please discontinue this, You can happily do! We will have no objections 🙁

Opens like a softer, more sensitive Armani Code Profumo, Eros, or Invictus type of fragrance. Very similar. More mature than Invictus or Eros, more laid back than Code Profumo. Not as loud as any of them, but still potent.
It’s dark, sweet, and nutty to open. A couple hours in brings an interesting twist, and the dry down becomes a very classic cedar/musk combo which reminds me a lot of the cedar/musk in Versace Eau Fraiche! This is mixed with the leftover sweetness which by this point is a dusty, nutty vanilla.
This is definitely a thumbs up fragrance. It’s fairly interesting, has good longevity, and is bound to be liked by most people. It’s also pretty versatile, I can see it being wearable in most settings except for in an office.

So sweet and inoffensive, almost too inoffensive if that makes any sense.. I am a woman and even on me it wasn’t strong but I can see this one easily going mainstream.

    @ Jessemay,
Everyone is waiting to know what happened in Valentine’s day.
Is this fragrance magic or what?

I am open minded person to give a chance to anything but not sure now where I would wear it and what kind of clothes would go with it. For me is more ladies than gents but hay ho. Tried on my skin and shirt. No doubt about good longevity on shirt lasted over 12 hours. Strong sweet scent. Would I wear it? Yes , for a baby shower? Visit my grand parents? Around pool? Would I buy it? Dont think so.

Smells cheap and artificial. A scrubber for me.

Always tempting to try fragrance that is so hated lol.
The opening was fresh fruity for me – pineapple all the way mixed with vanilla. The pineapple gives it a bit ouf sourness – but a good one, not overly sour.
The drydown lets cardamom and chestnut to show up underlined with pink pepper in the background. All of it floating on sweet vanilla blanket.
It’s sweet, yes. But still quite masculine – although not totally and pure masculine. Smells comforting for winter, slightly spicy. It’s not like it would make my knees shake, but it’s kinda nice, casual.
It doesn’t have a wow effect for me but let’s say I would still prefer smelling this on a man than smelling Eros on a boy.

If you want to smell like a high school student going to prom, then this is ideal. All the modern designer fragrance cliches in one bottle done to a reasonably good quality.

    @Carlitos
I do agree with you. No invictus vibe here. The sweet notes are totally diferent.
This is a preety unique fragrance. Even with a minor Code Profumo vibe in the dry down, it’s not similar to either.
Even if I am not a “conoisseur” of niche fragrances, recently I did tried something similar in Paris. It’s called “By the Fireplace” by Maison Martin Margiela and I don’t own that perfume. I never had a chance to tried them side by side. I am stating this opinion just using my memory.
My wife and my sister also think that this fragrance is super sexy, a real panty dropper 🙂
I am glad this fragrance does not smell like Invictus.
George Clooney playing a 007 role could wear this fragrance – classy, manly, modern and panty dropper.
    @vanessastanna
Vanessa, You may probably confirm my wife and sister’s opinion 🙂

This is a very good EDT.
I tried it last week in a duty free and the fragrance stayed with me for the entire lenght of the flight. My wife (sitting by my side) borrowed the test strip a couple of times to forget the plane smells. After 10 hours the strip scent and projection were alive and kicking. My wife was delighted with the fragrance and advised me to buy it.
I receive my bottle today and just tried it in the back of my hand. My wife confirmed that it is adorable, manly and super sexy. My teen daughter commented it was quite fashionable and sexy (“moods” in teen language).
It does remember Code Profumo a bit but it has its own identity. I kind of prefer this one. It performs quite well with what it loks 3 hours+ projecting more than an arm lenght and a longevity of 10 hours+. Till now I only have a non positive opinion about the name. It’s a bit tacky.
I am a sucker for Vanilla which is the main note of SWY. Neither Invictus nor Code Profumo have that note. No way it has any Invictus vibe in it. I did not perceived any similarities yet.
I will try to make a review later on. So far I think it will make my top 10 (among 300 other bottles).

How people find invictus inside this great fragrance is a mistery! This smells like more to code profumo… invicrus smells like invictus and stop. Try invictus and try this and you will see that are different! Invictus seems empty.. this one make you happy, delicious nuts seems inside… invictus smells only sintetic.

Not synthetic. At all. Very spicy and warm vanilla. Comfort in a bottle. Beautiful for a man’s fragrance, but still definitely manly. I would jump on any guy wearing this.

I agree with those who say this smells synthetic. Maybe too much Iso E Super? Without that, this would be a nice sce
