I bought this for my mother on mothers day. It is warm, beautiful, feminine, romantic, soft, womanly and comforting. Highly recommend.

I have the older version with a rectangular bottle. It is a clean white floral scent butt too linear for my taste and too powdery. Passed it to my mother to finish up the bottle.

I was expecting waxy magnolia, and that’s not what I’m getting. As a previous reviewer notes, there’s a cool citric mint note that never quite dissipates. Although she liked it, that mint / citrus note ruins this fragrance for me as I can’t smell anything else from the perfume. Longevity is quite impressive though; it’s lasted 4 hours so far and I can still smell it on my clothes. Putting up my bottle on ebay.

I have it in solid balme forme. When I smell it in the little can, it’s mainly magnolia. But when applied, it has a cool effect like some sort of mint note, very pleasant. A very clean floral scent for spring and summer.

I wore this perfume for years until it was discontinued, and I’m *still* sad it’s gone. But! I finally found something comparable, even similar to my memory of Magnolia and Eau de Val: Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell (something sweetly green, lily of the valley, jasmine). If you’re missing either, give the Wild Bluebell a try!

I wore this for many years and also used the matching body wash. I haven’t been to a L’occitane store in a while (I moved and there used to be one that was on my commute to and from work) and recently went and was so sad to see that this lovely fragrance was no longer offered. It’s been a while since I’ve had this but I remember it fondly – it was fairly light, deliciously flowery, and quite distinctive. The only replacement that I can think of would be something from Pacifica or perhaps some scent that is based on tuberose – since that seems to be more popular than magnolia. It’s such a shame that l’occitane feels the need to continually discontinue their fragrances and replace them with different ones. It’s wonderful to have new products but not at the expense of the old ones. I remember being upset when they discontinued the amazing eau de miel in favor of the lemon and honey line (which in my opinion is disgusting and smells like cleaning products and cough drops). I was shocked to see that they still carry their awful cherry blossom fragrance – which to me, smells of nothing but sweetened alcohol. It really seems as if they have gotten rid of all of the good fragrances and replaced them and/or kept only the terrible ones. Too bad … it seems as though there is nothing left at this store for me. I do like their skin care but there are many many other lines out there that I trust way more – I’d be afraid to get used to or fall in love with any of their products for fear that they would just up and discontinue it.

i would not say l’eau d’Issey by Issey Miyake is a good representative for Magnolia …

I just loved this perfume. It was so light and lovely!
I now wear a different perfume as my day-to-day and am selling my remaining bottles.
I have 25% of a 20ml(.68oz) and a full unopened 125ml(4.2oz) bottle. Please contact me if you’re interested in them!

Beautiful, radiant floral perfume with best Magnolia inside after the one from Ives Rocher ( production is stopped).
Freesia is very nice support, and with other white flowers gives a nice harmony, and the musk is accompanying base.
Tender perfume with medium lasting – good for daily use.
