This one I find much more enjoyable than the original. That being said, they don’t seem to be similar in all that many ways. This is a creamy, somewhat citrusy scent with a bit of a tropical feeling. I’d wear this, but not pay the price of retail.

I am not a specialist in coconut perfumes; even if I have encountered some, I can’t evaluate them right away.
Personally, I like this fragrance: warm, summery, beachy, creamy, NATURAL. It sounds like an ideal weekend in the good carefree days. I think it would perfectly suit blond-haired young people of the Flamboyant Natural Kibbe type.
Very versatile: for all seasons and everybody, for nearly all occasions.
I have had it on for 6-7 hours now and I can still smell it quite clearly.

I’ve never smelled the original Soleil Blanc, but I love Eau. When I first smelled it, I was immediately taken back to Vegas resort vacations–people luxuriating by picture perfect blue pools, their skin gently heated by the desert sun, radiating expensive skincare products. All the notes of luxury resorts reside here: the chlorine, sunscreen, even subliminal wafts of hotel fragrance.
Coconut is the star of this show, but it is subdued by citruses and gentle white flowers. The coconut is sweet and somewhat milky, but it isn’t heavy or overbearing. It’s light and fresh, married to citruses that are subtly sour and play with the sweetness of the rest of the fragrance. The way Eau is blended reminds me of hotel fragrances in the sense that it is so balanced, that it’s sometimes hard to tell what exactly you’re smelling. In the end, it just smells good, and maybe makes you want to stay and gamble your money away.
As for the price tag, I can’t say I would ever pay full price for any Tom Ford fragrance, just as a matter of principle and personal preference. Some people are able to spend $100+ on fragrance, most people aren’t. In the end, it’s a fragrance many people will smell and think, “oh, that smells nice” when you wear it, but will they understand what differentiates it from more affordable scents? Probably not.

It smells like a perfect beach vacation fragrance. It reminds me actually of Voyage d’Hermes with added white flowers and coconut. It is pretty linear and not groundbreaking but pleasant and sunny.

Blended to perfection, I cant pick out any notes. This is a straight alluring fresh beachy scent as it gets. All white or shades of brown casual beach attire. Its a different take on his fresher collection, besides the neroli collection that works. It lasts, but sillage could be better.

  6. :

it is a beachy scent but in a more refined way. I find the tuberose more dominant than the coconut. It reminds me not only of soleil blanc which makes sense but also orchid soleil, Estee lauder sensuous nude, Bronze goddess and probably lots of other summer scents outhere. I was expecting something more creative,it’s not easy to put the sun in a bottle.Costume national So Nude it falls in the same category but has also character that EdSB is missing, it is more daring and interesting.

Wow very well blended and somewhat unique. I just don’t know if I could spend tom ford money to smell like sunscreen. Coconut dominates this one.

Whenever I smell something in a perfume that is not in the note pyramid, nor mentioned by other reviews, I am acceptant. For I am by no means an expert and still in the process of learning to recognize notes. But, really.. no one gets musk? No one?!? On me, this opens coconut and within half a hour this is a full blown musk. Not just musky, but straight musk. Dusty, grey musk. Which for me makes this a scrubber. Monstrous projection; guess what, everything around me smells of it now. All this from one tiny spray on a card, stuffed away in my backpack! Sorry Tom, I love some of your other offerings tho 😉

This is a nice Beachy scent. On me I mainly smell ylang ylang and coconut. It has a very similar vibe to Versace Crystal Noir just more refined. I highly recommend this if your looking for a vacation Beachy scent.

This is a delightful scent, very much one of those “summer-in-a-bottle” affairs. It’s bright, citrusy, floral, and beachy. It has that suntan lotion accord that is essentially synonymous with beachy summer scents, and it executes it well. Compared with the original Soleil Blanc, this is definitely lighter and brighter. It’s less creamy, and it feels a bit more sparkly. That being said, the longevity isn’t as good as the original. Now, that’s not too much of a problem for me since spraying this throughout the day serves as as a good pick-me-up, but I can understand why it’s a drawback for most. Overall though, I’m very pleased with this one. 4/5 stars from me.

I can’t get enough of this scent. It’s the exact scent you want to wear in a hot day, you close your eyes and you literally feel transported to a beach, when your skin heats and you’ve just woken up from a delicious nap, by the sea, with your loved one at your side, the sound of the waves crashing next to you.
I love this much more than the Soleil blanc version (not to mention it’s $50 cheaper..), the orange gives it its lift, making it a little easier to wear and less heavy, suitable for an office as it doesn’t overdo on the coconut. The drydown is addictive, it does smell like suntan lotion but so much better, I feel this is a scent invented for places like Bali, Guadalupe, Mauritius or any other remote island where you just enjoy yourself and those lazy summer days. I love the whiffs of coconut and flowers you have when you move around, it is not overpowering, the orange makes it a little fizzy and more fun than its Soleil blanc counterpart. First minutes almost smells like a very luxurious mojito that then melts down and allows you to chill in the sand. It is very feminine/seductive but not girly, I have smelt it on the SA (male) and it smelled good on him too! Essentially, summer in a bottle.
It is an Eau de Toilette but it has a pretty good longevity on my skin (about 5 to 9h depending on the activities of the day)

  12. :

Eau de Soleil Blanc is a bright, fleshy but lighthearted white floral. It is fluffy, creamy, but not exactly sweet. As it warms up, tuberose and jasmine become prominent, with noticeable traces of vanilla and tonka bean as support. It’s a good summer fragrance for people who prefer sumptuous orientals. It has more or less arms length projection and lasts about half a day.

  13. :

It’s fantastic. If Kramer from Seinfeld was able to produce his “beach” fragrence, this would be it. Creamy, addictive etc.
There’s only one problem, and it’s a harsh reality: only you will know it is a finely crafted, expensive fragrence. It simply reads as suntan lotion. I’m afraid that’s the truth.

  14. :

    5 out of 5

Very interesting and facinating scent. I like it and but I dont like how it changes in the drydown. It is special and would really want to like a Tom Ford perfume…but there is something that makes this boring on my skin as it lingers. It is Nice and well behaved, it could suit an Office worker. It doesnt bother and is clean and discrete. I do not find it resembles Bronze Goddess EDP, which I love.

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Yes! As i am the person who would like to bath herself in Coconut, this is one of my favourites. Much of the coconut scents that are on the market smell synthetic to me, this one doesn’t. The coconut and citrus are both rich, creamy and blend together very well. The opening is fresh, mostly orange and citrus, and in time the creamy coconut comes to the surface. I can’t really smell the vanilla (also one of my favourite ingredients in a perfume). Silage is not very great, i need to be véry close to people in order for them to smell it on me (and i spray A LOT). Longevity isn’t great also, 4 hours maximum, but very weak. I don’t think i will buy it again, because in my honest opinion i find it very pricey…

  16. :

    3 out of 5

Just another boring coconut smelling fragrance..
Tom Ford is all about random eccentric scents blended like a salad and whatever happens..I dont find any character in them. (this is my opinion)

  17. :

    4 out of 5

This is the FIRST Tom Ford that I’ve tried that I like! It smells like suntan lotion with coconut. I like it better than the reformulated Sensuous Nude, which was the fragrance I used to wear to get this same effect.

  18. :

Update: I really enjoy this version of Soleil Blanc and many have said the longevity is not great but on my skin I get a solid 8 hours and projecting well for the first 4. I did spray anout 7 sprays but I really like the more citrusy marine take on the OG. It smells very similar and for a better price. I do have fragrances that are similar to this but for spring and summer and specialty for the beach I enjoy this. I’m not mad I spent the 93

  19. :

    4 out of 5

It’s a nice perfume but the staying power does not justify the price. The first spray is close to the skin and smells very strongly of lilac to me, very floral. The dry down smells just like Bronze Goddess so I’d rather invest in that instead of the Soleil.

  20. :

It’s hard to judge this as a new entity since I already own Soleil Blanc. But what I can say is this is less warm and more aquatic.

Just managed to blind buy a 100ml bottle for 93 bucks on eBay…I’ve smelled the original SB but not this and at that price I had to pull the trigger..I will be back to give an update if I am happy or wish I had my 93 back lol

You know what i like about it? I just tested today random scents what seemed interesting, without even willing that I would like something and i smelled this one from the bottle,I thought, ok lets spray it on my wrist, lets spray it on the paper. I came back home and after a while i smelled my wrist, I thought, wow, it is more sharp but in a very sexy way actually, i smelled the paper and I couldnt believe that it was the same scent!!!So flat on the paper and so intense on my skin.I love perfume that really adjust to you. I consider it as my future buy.

Perfect Summer scent, so easy to wear. This smells keenly similar to Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, which I’ve loved for years. In fact, I would say that they are so similar that you don’t need both. For me, longevity on the Tom Ford is slightly better than Bronze Goddess, but it’s not significant.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

This opens up with a lot of neroli combined with coconut and then it settles down to a wonderful creamy coconut suntan lotion smell. I really love this one, it is the definition of beach smell, its longevity is really ok, I get 4 to 5 hours with moderate projection. Many may fear that this might smell too feminine, I really don’t think so, it is just a nice beach / suntan lotion smell.
This one is quite cheap also, moreover Tom Ford Private Line gets 40% discount quite often here in Greece, so it’s 60€ for the 50ml.

Save your pennies, perfume lovers! Both versions of TF Soleil are not worth the money. They are not coconut creamy, narcotic creations – you know if you’ve got that perfect sun-tan smell if you’re intoxicated and mesmierised- Tom Ford versions aren’t hypnotic, these smell blah and flat.
His orginal, BRONZE GODDESS for Estee Lauder (Lauder owns TF Beauty), is the one to buy. It’s less money and if you can get your hands on the DISCONTINUED Eau Fraiche and Discontinued SHIMMERING Body lotion (came in an orange/yellow bottle with solar gold circles) then you’ll understand what I mean. That older body lotion is outstanding, why oh why they change the formula…. Why!

Eau de soleil blanc is a flanker of the infamous Soleil Blanc, therefore it must resemble the latter; I can’t verify that as I merely had a whiff of Soleil Blanc but I bet that as an “eau” it is a lighter scent than the original. Both advertised as summery perfumes I already see ladies replacing their Bronze Goddess with either Soleil Blanc or Eau de Soleil Blanc with the eau becoming the more common option.
The structure up there seems too complex for what I generally sense, without it meaning anything negative about the scent, just an observation. For instance I don’t sense pistachio, cardamom, caraway, pink pepper, tonka and vanilla. The citrus notes are all very apparent which is to be expected for a summer release, then it’s the white florals: tuberose-orange blossom-neroli; I can’t complain I got my white floral part. In the end it settles into a hazy sweet coconutty scent with a sheer citrus-white floral background. I really appreciate the effort put into coconut: it’s truly sweet but never foodish, never this tacky-cheap-sickly gourmand coconut often used. Well done.
It’a a successful execution of putting summer into a bottle. Sits close to the skin and literally lasts all day. With a history of “Bronze Goddess” by Estee Lauder, and Tom Ford belonging to the aforementioned parent company, it wouldn’t be too difficult. Beach, sand, waves, sun-tan lotion and lazy laying under the sun.

This is one of the best ‘beachy’ type fragrances that i have smelt. I love the way how the notes mix up and can smell the cardamon and pistachio. Such a great blend and idea of various notes to produce this fragrance.
Creamy and exotic smelling. Not the pina colada style.
Unfortunately i didnt try on skin but was quite impressed with its originality. I havent tried the original version so not sure how that compares with this one.

This is a more unisex version of Soleil Blanc, not quite as good but still very nice. And I WILL try Carnal Flower, thank you.

A lovely creamy floral for summer! It’s got that warmed sunscreen sort of vibe to it initially, but really dries down to a milky and creamy floral scent with a hint of coconut in the background, which I can softly detect. Unfortunately it has very low sillage after the initial spray and weak longevity, maybe 2-3hrs for me. I still bought a small bottle for a great price and will enjoy the heck out of it for the summer months, but I doubt I’d repurchase unless I got another great deal. Longevity especially was disappointing for such a beautiful summer scent.

Very interesting, pleasant floral scent, with lots of ylang-ylang, jasmine, coconut, citrus, benzoin and amber notes. All blended very well! Maybe tuberose bothers me a bit, but in general, it is a very good scent. Perfect for nights out!

I really like this scent! its light, airy, I get coconut and citrus. On me I also get something else that I cant really detect, almost a slight spiciness or something that comes off as slightly masculine which I like. That said , this does not last on me at all. I am unable to smell this on me after about an hour, sometimes it was just 20-30 minutes and this is with a generous spray. I was able to smell it on my clothes the next day, but I dont think anyone else would be able to without being up close and personal. When I purchased this I got a really good deal, I had a gift card to macy’s and they were doing 15% off of all their fragrances, so I figured with the price I payed I might as well keep the perfume as it is really nice despite its poor projection and longevity; however I doubt I will ever pay full price.

Dissapointed because it’s less sweet/coconutty and more citrusy than the EDP. I love vanilla. That’s why I love the original because it’s a vanillic floral. This is all the way a powdery citrus. It smells similar to Acqua Di Parma Colonia and Assoluta. Both I loath honestly.

This Soleil Blanc EDT and the EDP are designed for a couple who is happily enjoy their life and the relationship, on a summer vacation trip to an exotic tropical island.
That is how I feel about the two Soleil Blancs, as I enjoy and treasure them both. The EDP is definitely more smooth, creamy, and rich as a warm caressing touch of a beautiful, elegant, and sexy female while the EDT reminds me of a bright and kind smile on the face of a handsome gentleman (it has more “fresher” notes than the EDP with the burst of citruses from the opening. Therefore, it may be considered “lighter” than the EDP, and perhaps suits better as men’s cologne?). The couple walks hand in hand on a sunny white sand beach, sharing hugs and kisses. They are so in love, young and full of energy, relaxing side by side each other, and free of worries.
I am just purely lucky that I don’t find their scents as “cheap” or “related” to any other “similar” but inexpensive perfumes, or even “body treatment” products such as “lotion” or “sun tan oil”…All I pick from these two EDP and EDT are the very yummy notes (nutty pistachio, cardamom, creamy and natural coconut, fresh citruses, sexy jasmine and tuberose…and a little warm “spice” as found in “peppery note”, which may come from pink pepper, and/or tonka bean?). For financial purpose, you may find Chapter One by Jennifer Aniston as an “economic” option, that I personally think can be nicely “related” to these Soleil Blancs in scents.
And to be honest, I really don’t care what the names of the lovely notes are in those two coupled concoctions. Without a doubt, the EDT and EDP are created, using “ingredients” with very FINE quality. This is a successful and shining line of Tom Ford’s fragrances in the beauty industry. It says all, and delivers the exact “definition” and “message” of the name “Soleil Blanc”!

I’m craving the warmer months to come and if I put this perfume on and close my eyes it’s easy to image that i’m on the beach in beautiful weather. It has a really unique scent that is hard to describe. Slightly coconuty and slightly like sunscreen and salty beach air. But this scent doesn’t last long on me at all. Probably half an hour and I can no longer smell it on my wrist. For the price I feel like it should last longer.

White flowery, feminine, low sillage and longevity. Received as a sample and I won’t be buying a full bottle. Especially for the price. I also didn’t get any coconut.

  38. :

Very beautiful. Having that said, to me it is the kind of scent I would only wear at home and to bed, maybe on a barbecue. It would be my laid back, chill time perfume. And for that purpose it is way too expensive. What a shame.

  39. :

    I really took to this.
Why? This is a really nice Eaux Friache. I imagine if I was perfumer ( for say Guerlain )and I was task to create a Eaux Friache/citrus cologne, this is what mine would smell like.
Am I going too far to say this is reminiscent of Eau De Imperial. Yes, I am. I mean no I’m not
However, with the Coconut note, this really reminds me of a Bath and Body Work fragrance I was crazy about call Lime , Verbena and Coconut. Not to many luxury perfume houses include Citrus and Coconut fragrances in their repertoire, but Tom Ford has took it up, and took it up very well I may add. ( Royal Creed Virgin Island Water came close)
I ‘ll soon own it and just on the fact of how much I really like BBW Verbena ,Coconut , and Lime (discontnued). Eau Soliel Blanc is a nice, agreeable yet phenomenal smell and soft luxury to be considered!

I absolutely love this…. when it settles abit that is. when i first spray it everyone tells me i smell like bug spray/repellent, Which was saddening since i find it very appealing, but i can see how it would smell like bug spray its very strong when you first put it on but the dry down is nice. Does not last long on the skin I recommend spraying on clothing

Just got a sample from Sephora. Unexpectedly wonderful! It bahaves differently on skin and clothes. Skin-transforms into more fig, fresh kind of sweetness. Bight fresh very light aroma. While on clothes it’s strong, fig kind of sweetness. Green really fig like. I love the beginning-salty, earthy, broken branches cardamon . Very positive scent! Optimistic and kind

I just bought this the other week as I have smelt the eau de parfum version in a store thinking that it smelled sweet and coconutty and after a few weeks ordered the EDT version online since it is cheaper but I am surprised that the dry down actually smells like that Spanish baby cologne called NENUCO. I am a bit disappointed because I was expecting a sweet tropical dry down but an expensive version of a baby cologne. It is not bad it is definitely only good for the summer but for the EXPENSIVE price I could have gotten the baby cologne coz it smells exactly the same.

With these much needed citruses added, I like this so much more than the regular soleil blanc. This one smells beachy, but doesn’t have that suntan lotion vibe. I smell the destination of the cruise rather than the fancy people on it, whereas the original smell like rich ladies sunbathing. This one smells more like a tom ford.

Decided to go bust and got the 100mls. I would go through the 50mls in no time. Will need to use a bigger bag now so I can spritz this on throughout the day. My excuse is that this perfume is therapy hopefully it will see me through my dark times and give me the incentive to get stuff done! Lifts my spirits.

This is really nice. This is what I had hoped Beach by Bobbi Brown was going to be. This is Coppertone with a mineral background and some coconutty white flower accords. This smells less like a perfume and more like a skin scent but in a nice way. It really reminds me of digging through my bag after being at the pool and smelling a mix of Coppertone, chlorine and clean damp towel. Definitely a nice memory scent. Tom Ford scents really work well on my skin and this one is no different, long lasting and quality fragrance.

This is a subtle fragrance, but there is more to it than the three notes currently listed in the perfume pyramid. I have both versions of Soleil Blanc and this one is simply a more airy interpretation of the original eau de parfum. The concept remains the same. I can smell the roasted pistachio and piquant cardamom in the opening, the plush tuberose and ylang-ylang in the middle and the fusion of amber, benzoin and coconut milk in the base. If I were going to compare it to something else, I would say it smells the way my English Laundry Tahitian Waters smelled when it was brand new and fresh about five years ago, but without the brown sugar note and just a tad more luxurious. I love it. The Soleil Blanc series is a superb concoction made especially for sun worshipping, beach walking, coastal dwellers like me. I see my life in it.
I chose the eau de toilette to accompany me through resort season because its buoyant floral-amber-coconut delivery is a perfect compliment to light weight clothing and warm weather travel. It just works. I have even worn this in direct sunlight and it did not break down or change. That’s always a good sign. If you are looking for a fragrance labyrinth full of secret surprises, this is not the one for you. But Eau de Soleil Blanc is very good at what it does for individuals like me. It’s certainly narcotic. You could also say it’s charismatic without being overly youth-oriented or clubby. Both incarnations of Soleil Blanc indeed evoke warm sand, white sun and bronze skin. All of these things are treasures enough for me. If life is a beach, then this little frosted bottle is an ode to the people of the sun.

Just tried it today and I like it, it is fresh and bright, , like almost smells of orange blossoms..with a smooth undertone, must be the amber…now, I find it overpriced for what it is, it smells nice yes, but it has poor longevity and disappeared from my wrist quickly..I can’t justify spending that much money for a nice yet rather simplistic fresh scent..you can find similar fresh springlike scents for a lot less money..you pay for the name, not for a fantastic scent….now it isn’t so unisex to my nose, I find it rather feminine, but hey let’ s market every fragrance as unisex, marketing plot…i shall pass on that one.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Not a lot of reviews for this one, huh? On me, this is a fairly linear orange flower fragrance with a sweet and peppery herbal infusion in the background. It reminds me of some older products made by Lush, that were more ‘natural’ smelling. Definitely a bright freshness about it. Would do well as a candle or laundry scent. I get the beachy vibe that others mention. It is coconut and sand adjacent. Maybe those notes and some pineapple would bring this to a more fun place. Not really my thing, as it is! The amber didn’t appear until 8-10 hours later. And by then it was too little, too late.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

I loved the original Soleil Blanc, but always found it a little too strong, and too cloying. This new version is an antidote to those problems. Being an Eau de Toilette it is, of course, lighter, and the inclusion of a little more citrus brightens up the beginning. On my skin the citrus notes are fleeting, on my partner’s skin they stay for most of the fragrance’s life – so it is definitely a scent that varies from skin to skin.
The dry down, to me, is indistinguishable from the original, which for the price point is great.

  55. :

    4 out of 5

So very close to Bronze Goddess, but simpler, drier, less sweet, and more of a summer scent than BG which I find too heavy for hot weather. Nice. Expensive.

As a huge Tom Ford fan and collector of his private blends and signature blends, I am somewhat disappointed in this too.
I must admit, there’s not much in his line that’s summer suitable.
Perhaps Orchid Soliel is a winner?
Wish I had better comment. I like it, I don’t love it enough to buy a bottle.
A 10ml decant will do me!

I sprayed myself pretty liberally with a sample and felt that familiar crushing disappointment… Where is the glory, the oomph? I can’t help but feel like this Tom Ford in particular has Estee Lauder stamped into its soul. “Mild, tropical, chemically” was the verdict from my boyfriend, and I sadly agree. This scent has been done much better a hundred times over, including Soleil Blanc.

Perhaps TF is trying to cater to the younger generation – who have the attention span of a house fly and constantly crave something new.

  59. :

    4 out of 5

I’m simply commenting to make a point here. As someone said, Tom Ford Private Blend, years ago they rarely released them, now I swear they have released almost 5-6 maybe within the past year. To me that’s not how you build a reputation, you don’t just spew out fragrances to make money or for the sake of making a new scent. Why do you think houses like Creed are so successful? They have only pushed out 2 fragrances last year (from different lines) Tom Ford has released all these new scents and a lot of people are losing their faith in this house. I have smelt some of them, they are nice, but they are losing their touch.
I tried the original of this scent, it’s ok.

This scent was ok but nothing great and something I definitely wouldn’t buy and especially at Tom Ford prices( I’m reviewing this from a sample)
To make this short and sweet it opens up with a citrusy, sparkling floral opening that’s typical of many standard summery perfumes and then once it dries down you get a beachy, suntan lotion vibe. In the drydown your left with to me what smells as if you applied Suntan lotion over cocoa butter. Sounds weird but it does smell nice but it leans feminine but if your looking for a scent that fits that description I’m sure you will like it !
For me though it’s a pass as it’s not really my style.
Performance is below average as it lasts 3-4 hours and only leaves you with a small scent bubble.
Overall rating— 6.5 out of 10 ! This really is a decent suntan lotion scent but it’s not for me and it’s also not exactly a top choice of what I’d like to smell on a woman either. Also, it’s NOT worth the price Tom Ford asks for there fragrances either

Usually the frosted bottles in Private Blend indicate they are EDT.

And right when I bought the more expensive Eau de Parfum that I find too strong at times!
Edit: Ripped up the receipt too.

Once the “Private Blend” were the result of a long search, an exclusive selection and only rarely came out, but now …?
This strongly recalls “Soleil Blanc” a fragrance released in 2016, which I love, with which it shares very little and I wonder: why not give it a different name instead of creating this confusion?
Why call it “eau de” when the only available format is an eau de perfume concentration and is no meant to be a “lighter” version of the “original” fragrance?
I remain increasingly puzzled by the choices of this house: /
