It sure has its similarities with the original Malbec, but they’re different enough to be worth it to have them both (actually, all the Malbecs are worth having it, in my opinion, including the Absoluto edition, not listed on this website).
Anyway, continuing with the review: In my skin, is woodier and dryer compared to the original. The opening is woody and citrus. I know vetyver is listed as a base note, but i feel it right from the start, along with Lime, Bergamot and Violet Leaf.
After a few minutes, the citrus blast tone down, along with the Vetyver. The oak starts to show up a little bit more, and a nice (but kinda mysterious) blend from the Chocolate, the Rose and the Geranium starts to bloom.
Is a dry kind of sweet. Like rose-liquor-filled-chocolates stored in a wooden box.
I sense a little patchouli at the background, keeping it ‘fresh’, but very distant.
And one thing i need to mention: you ALWAYS get the ‘wine’ feeling. Is not prominent, like a strong note. Is more like a ‘feeling’. Like a fine mist surrounding everything. Like an after taste, after you drink a glass of a really expensive wine.
The dry down is woody-fresh, thanks to vetyver, with a nice musky-amber tone mixed with the sweetness of the cassis. This feeling stays with me till everything disappears.
Differently from the original or the Absoluto), you can wear this at warm weather without offending anyone. Is rather safe (differently from Absoluto) and great for gifts, but not very famous, since it comes and goes from the stores, while the original are always available.
Projection is good, but sillage in my skin is rather disappointing.

Duo is a mix between Barolo and Malbec.
It has the sweet wine accord and the fruit notes from Barolo and the spice notes from Malbec.
Considering this is a eau de cologne, Duo has great longevity and projection. Unfortunatelly, Duo is not available anymore in Boticario’s stores because it was a special edition.
I’m giving it a 8.0/10 because could be less sweet and more versatile.
