Wonderfull fresh and very manly fougére. I suppose it was worn by a sphisticated yet sexy man in those days. Alluring and seeking attention. I love it.
n_komarovskiy – :
Very fresh ,aromatic and French
I would imagine this is what MAGNUM PI wore in the 80`s.
Only for Bold Confident men…more like Magnum Pi than McGyver -)

Maybe because I came of age in the 80s, but original Drakkar just smells like sex to me. My husband doesn’t like it, but I have an old bottle just for me!

A very nice Fougere. Very fresh, citrusy about 30 minutes after the start. The freshest old-school scent I know.

Something about this bottle reminds me of Beautiful by Estee Lauder. Just an observation. I never got to smell this one, but it sounds wonderful. I do remember the scent of Drakkar Noir driving me crazy(in a good way) back in the 80’s.

I had a bottle of this circa 1988. I am going off memory as I lovingly used the last drop long ago. I actually found it at a closeout store. Thats a sure sign that is is being discontinued. I never seen it again. This is unfortunate since it was wonderful!
I remember a big citrus opening that as a splash was very nice. It was very smooth and waxy to my nose almost creamy. Definitely cozy on cold winter days as I would hurry around campus in the snow. There was something well dressed about it. If you can imagine Drakkar Noir without the black leather note leaning more toward a chypre, that was Drakkar-now lost to history. I am honored to have it in my life for that short time.
Guy LaRoche was a real contender in the day. Sort of like the French Halston. This was a perfect male counterpart to Fidji, a classic now mostly forgotten. His style was unpretentious, down to earth and very chic. The wolves rushed in after his death and ruined the house, discontinuing everthing except Drakkar Noir with its abominable reformulation
