This is a rich scent, much too heavy for summer. Its warm and comforting, like a fire in a lodge. There is no originating blast. No matter how much you apply it slinks up on you, like a stalking tiger. A friendly tiger who pounces on you only to head-bump you and then flop over to let you snuggle up in warm pelt, redolent of the day’s wandering. I first got it as an imp, and got so many compliments that I bought the bottle. I find it a great workplace scent. It’s got broad sillage, and makes a zone of comfort all around me. Until I am allowed to keep an actual purring tiger in my cubicle, this perfume is the next best thing.

Dragon’s Claw was an imp that I took to carrying in my makeup bag as my go-to “woops I forgot to put on perfume” emergency scent. Although it is also based in sandalwood, this one contains dragon’s blood, a resin from a kind of tree found in the Canary Islands. If you like wood based oriental scents, you may love this.
