Diptyque Do Son Eau de Parfum is THE tuberose fragrance. I’ve tried virtually all tuberose fragrances I could find in the world and Do Son EDP is unbeatable. Doesn’t matter your gender, age or mood. Round, fresh, rich, natural tuberose. Thank you, Diptyque!

A must if you love Tuberose that is fresh. Cousin of Carnal Flower in my opinion. The EDT is more “fresh” but it doesn’t last as long. If you are looking for longevity, then buy the parfum instead of the EDT.

I consider myself a tuberose virgin with Nuit de Tuberose and Gucci Bloom being the only two tuberose-dominant fragrances I’ve knowingly tried. The headiness of the Gucci I liked at first but ultimately found a bit cloying. The L’Artisan I liked a lot but found it a rather lovely sweet floral that I wouldn’t have identified as white flowers.
Then I tried Do Son EdP and swooned. It’s the creaminess that has done it. Longevity and sillage were more decent on my perfume-eating skin than any other perfume I tried that day (I had about 10 on my arms, including a couple of from Lush). That same night I bought the rollerball perfume oil. This seems much softer to me, more a skin scent with below average longevity. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed with the performance of the rollerball and also find the application a bit annoying because the ball part tends to get stuck such that I have rub and rub it over the skin, then it will suddenly release a lot of oil at once. For 40 Euros or so retail, I think it is steep and not great value. However, at a discount it is great way to test the scent a little more.
It is not so lush and radiant as I experienced the spray, not surprisingly for an oil, but the scent is still gorgeous and creamy, and it has confirmed that this will go onto my want list. Do Son EdP may become my gateway tuberose. Or maybe not. All I know is that it is one of a handful of fragrances this year that has hit me as hard (two others were Seville A’Laube and Coromandel). It’s also one of the first where I have felt transported to an exotic location. It has always seemed a little cheesy to me when reviews have described a perfume immediately whisking them away to a tropical beach or spice market. But with Do Son I am sitting somewhere in South East Asia, surrounded by a lush garden after a brief shower, steam misting off the plants.
I will test more for the sake of being thorough and responsible but I WILL one day own Do Son. I have travel sizes of Philosykos and L’Ombre Dans as well. I really like these but not enough to buy a full bottle. With Do Son there is no question.

This open with peppery notes, the tuberose is creamy and slightly sweet. Like others have mentioned the notes seem to include rose even though it’s not listed. It has a creamy, lotion-like vibe. Less sweet than Fracas and without the bubblegum-like aspect of Fracas. This would be beautiful on a bride. Moderate sillage, excellent longevity.

Such a pretty tuberose! Fluffy and creamy, with an almost candy-like orange blossom note. The initial phase is a semi-sweet, creamy tuberose and orange blossom; as it develops the blend lightens somewhat, with a mild aquatic note lifting the composition.
The top notes here are creamier than the EDT, which starts out quite citrusy, but eventually it develops into something fairly similar: a bright, sunny white floral (citrus-white floral for the EDT, aquatic-white floral for the EDP).
The top notes are so extremely lovely, though, this is the first time I’ve wished for a scent to be linear.
Edit: The aquatic note calms down quite a bit in the drydown, thankfully, and the creaminess comes through once again. The creamy tuberose aspect actually reminds me a little of Hermes Twilly, though significantly lighter.

Diptyque was my gateway house, and Do Son is my favorite. It only has one flaw: since I began my ‘fragrance journey’ with it, Do Son tricked me into thinking I liked tuberose. I bought tuberose sample after sample, from Melodie de l’Amor to Carnal Flower, and wondered why I couldn’t stand them. Turns out I actually hate tuberose when it leads in its full, rubbery, stanky glory.
Do Son tames tuberose into something creamy but noticeable. It’s not quite as safe as Gucci Bloom, which I find nice but boring, something that smells less like I’ve actually rolled in flowers and more like, well, perfume. Do Son gets compliments and lingers on my clothes for days, a winner for nights out.

Very nice flowery scent, i perceive it as jasmine as i have never smelled real tuberose before, but the smell is almost identical to the jasmine in our garden
But it is not unisex at all, for me this is 100% feminine

SUPER strong, “sharp”, sweet but “green” tuberose scent here for me. Also, I immediately got an allergy (heavy sneezing) from sniffing it just on my wrist the last time I retested it (which was just recent. And I know that I’m not allergic to tuberose at all, as I have worn other tuberose fragrances often enough, and the other notes in this one are NOT anything too strange to my nose. Don’t know why. Maybe because of the strong and sharp green tea note perhaps???). For that reason, unfortunately Do Son is now a complete pass for me. Test it thoroughly before buying please.

Is it just me, or are other folks getting a strong “Rose” in the opening, in addition to the Tuberose? Rose is stronger for me in this EDP, compared to the EDT.
Ironically, the EDT pyramid actually *has* Rose in it, while this one does not. 😉
With the stronger Rose, EDP for the WIN!

In the tradition of Diptyque, this is a natural fragrence featuring tuberose in full bloom. I also smell something aquatic as a reviewer mentions below. Stays close and there’s not much of a transition other than the scent becoming softer overall. Very pretty.

all i smell here is iris..and theres no iris.I tried it on my skin several times but i just couldnt buy it…i think i prefer the edt version..so much better

Less sweet, and fresher than EDT, the opening all give the vivid impressions of a haunting tuberose. After the fresh-spicy notes are gone I would describe Do Son EDT as a gardenia and EDP as a magnolia flower.
Long lasting, feel like a cosy afternoon in a vast meadow full of one kind wonderful smelling wild flowers among grasses.
Batch: 1177 made in france
@mm01001101: I think the price of Diptyque counts on how much you like the drydown smell left on your skin. They’re usually long lasting enough to please the user. And their bottle design with those pictures got taste.

This is a nice tuberose scent. It opens a bit sharp with lots of flower and some pepper. Then the tuberose settles and softens into a very pleasant creamy flowery skinscent. I can detect some type of freshness, an almost aquatic note. Sillage is soft, it sits close to the skin. Very nice but not sure if it’s worth the price.
