Description

Divine is rich and intimate, filled with flowers, musk and sandalwood.

After the opening that gives an illusion of a sparkling wine, delicate floral notes of jasmine and violet warm the core of this unisex fragrance. The base of styrax and sweet resins blends with sandalwood and is rich, woody and long-lasting.

It is available as 50 and 100 ml EDP and 100 ml atomizer.

The nose behind this fragrance is John Stephen.

    “Luxury Soap”
There is not much to say other than it smells like luxury soap, and extremely pleasant.
Picture yourself working hard for a week and come home tired on a Friday evening. You sleep at night and wake up in early in the morning.
You take a shower, shave, trim the nails, comb and get ready to make breakfast for your family or yourself.
You want to be in an excellent mood, smell fresh, and positive to enjoy the beautiful sunny Saturday. Boadicea Divine is the solution.
I don’t see a reason to wear this to formal meetings, events, office or outside of the home other than taking it to a gym and using it after shower.
The longevity and silage are OK, but nothing too crazy.
A blind buy worthy for me, but make sure to buy it at the right price as I don’t think the retail price is justified.

This is the perfect luxury soap smell. I’ve always kept soaps in with my clothes and have wanted this scent as a fragrance, and then I discovered ‘Divine’.
The violet is prominent, almost a little too prominent for my liking, along with Iris (although not listed) a little jasmine and the aldehydes following a close second. Apart from these, there leaves nothing more detectable apart from fresh, clean, soapy cleanliness.
Unlike some floral aldehydes, Divine doesn’t smell vintage, it’s just fresh modern, floral and clean. It’s almost like the modern-day great granddaughter of Lanvin’s Arpege as it’s just so easy to wear for any occasion, season or outfit.
I have others from the Boadecea range and adore the quality, longevity and silage but unfortunately ‘Divine’ stays close to the skin and only lasts 4-6 hours (lasting longer on clothing than skin).
I love this fragrance but wished it lasted. My search for the perfect luxury soap scent continues.
Edit: I love it so much, I’m keeping it! I just keep coming back to it as it’s beautiful and so easy to wear for any occasion. I now spray it on my clothes as it lasts a long time that way.
Update: I’ve found myself coming back to this fragrance time after time as it’s so easy to wear, clean, vibrant and beautiful. I believe this means it’s become my signature, for now…
Another update: I still keep coming back to this stunning fragrance. I absolutely worship at its alter. I usually grow tired of scents and eventually fall out of love, but this I grow more fond of with every spray (and it takes around 8-10 sprays to fully appreciate – then it lasts all day). It’s so wearable, fresh, beautiful, not stuffy nor vintage and 100% non offensive. I am Divine by Boadicea The Victorious’s biggest fan.

Boadicea the Victorious Divine is a soapy, clean, powdery scent that reminds me of a clean body after a loooong shower! To my nose violet is the most prominent along with a touch of jasmine, ending up into a light sandalwood violet combination. What really bothers me is the poor lasting power, half n’hour after applying it and it’s gone! For that price range I expect much more..It is safe, crowd pleaser and a bit uninspiring.Needless to say I wouldn’t purchase if even if it was in my price range.

Extremely soapy at first, then dries down to a pretty linen smell. I get just a little bit of spice.

(This review is for Eau de Perfume)
DIVINE is a great example of light and airy soapy aldehydes. Aldehydes are quite chic, clean and sparkly in the beginning. I thought that the heart notes will be more floral but it actually continued on my skin with the sophisticated soapy scent mingled with the fragrant and beautiful jasmine and tender violets. The base is nice aromatic sandalwood with also a soapy accent.
DIVINE smells gorgeous and very expensive. If you love soapy scents I would suggest sampling this. You probably will be in heaven. It reminds me of a fresh crisp gust of wind in the early spring. I was impressed by this scent a lot. This is what WHITE LINEN aspired to do but never achieved in my opinion.

This is a very light, feminine, subtle fragrance. It does smell soapy, but it’s a pleasant kinda soapy, something you would like all your clothes to smell like. I’m not doing it justice by saying that though, because it does smell like a beautiful perfume. Very lovely and innocent. I totally missed the illusion of sparkling wine though, but that could have been just me. I’m sure no one could ever dislike this fragrance, in that way it is indeed divine. I would not call it unisex, if a man smelled like this I would start looking around for the source of this delicious scent and never guess it was him. It smells clean and airy, something I would wear in early spring. I’ve also recently tested Intense by Boadicea the Victorious which is totally different, but they both have a great quality and uniqueness to them. Makes me want to try more of their fragrances!

Boadicea the Victorious DIVINE opens with powdery violets and jasmine and ends with more of the same plus a touch of wood. Small wonder, then, that to me, a certified violet-“‘ho'”, DIVINE is truly DIVINE!
In the interest of truth in sniffin’, however, I should explain that you really have to work hard, I mean really make a mess of things (I’m talkin’ to you, O “Insolent” Creator) in order for me to reject a violet perfume.
Happily, no such problem here. DIVINE is oh-so-fine. My only regret is that the staying power is oh-so-unimpressive. I blew through my 2.5ml decant in no time!

So this is marketed as unisex and power scent… Good to know!
I tested Divine at beautiful Caleri’s shop in Genoa and I was hooked at first sniff! The opening went on as a violet soliflore for a while. I’m not talking about the usual candy violet of these days. I loathe that. I like Violetta di Parma. In Divine the violet is so strong, luscious and raw. It is very beautiful. Jasmine is probably there, but on my skin I smelled violet. Just as I was thinking about a dear friend who loves wild violets, Divine changed and it became an lovely refined posh soapy scent! Truly a perfect mix of notes that immediately put me in an old times toilet table of a noble lady.
It is strong, longlasting yet subtle, as I had just washed myself in extra-fine violet soap with musky undertones wrapped in precious decorated paper.
I find it extremely feminine and elegant. All in this perfume makes me think of a beautiful young lady dressed in white lace large skirts holding a parasol.

Here is a question for you: What would you think if they took the Batman and robyn franchise and did a spin-off so Robyn got his own show? Robyn as leading man, that is.
Mmmm… no. In general i’ve always thought that violet and jasmine shouldn’t play lead because they just don’t cut it, and Divine does not change my mind. This opens wiht jasmine, in all its white floral offensive glory, and softens out to violet (and if you don’t know what straight up violet smells like just go to the supermarket and snap a greenbean in half)
What I’m missing here (and I”m a little diappointed) is the base. I”ll try this again on a different day with a different shirt; because fisrt try this evaporated before i got of the basenotes, which all happen to be my favorites.
I had big hopes for this one, but in the end all I can say is ‘Holy evaporation of scent, Batman!’

The jasmine here is pleasant which is great since so often I find jasmine too overpowering for me. I think the violet softens it a bit. The fragrance does have a sweetness to it giving it an innocent feel. I know Boadicea considers it a “bold” & statement making fragrance but I just don’t feel that way about it. It’s not a scent I equate with power – at least not in the traditional sense of how how you consider something bold as in your face and asking to be noticed. But this fragrance has it’s power but more on a one on one, more subtle type way. I quite like it through the dry down. I don’t get too much sandalwood or anything spicy, just the sweetness of the flowers continuing. I am unsure if I’d call this truly a “unisex” fragrance. I think it’s more feminine oriented due to the strong floral element, but of course, with the right body chemistry and personal taste, it might just be what a guy is looking for.
