Description

This floral – oriental fragrance, launched in 1993, was designed by the famous Russian Sophia Grojsman. Top notes consist of peach, red rose, cyclamen and bitter almond tree. The heart seduces with juicy and sweet jasmine, orchid, heliotrope and rose touched by the spices, along with passionate ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley. The base is composed of amber, cedar, powdery vanilla, benzoin, sensuous musk and warm milky sandalwood.

I read in the forums that Diamonds and Rubies was somewhat similar to Guerlain Samsara, which has no lasting power these days . ( How sad !)
I was at Marshall’s this morning and saw Diamonds and Rubies for $13 and thought it was worth the risk . The opening was brief but unpleasant . That is not unusual for a perfume and years ago they almost all burned your nose initially if you sniffed too quickly .
After the drydown I was impressed with Diamonds and Rubies! It does share similar notes and it LASTS . It also has nice projection, but is not loud or too much. I find it spicy and feminine . I will repurchase after this runs out because it lasts and is really warm and spicy and has a subtle peach note.
This was formulated by Sonja Grosman , a master perfumer who has an impressive portfolio of hits .
Seven hours later : This gets better by the hour and I LOVE IT .

Diamonds and Rubies has a lot of my favorite notes, and it’s so well blended. But mostly it is quintessential Sophia Grojsman; this is SO in her style of rich, romantic oriental fragrances with peach, spice, and rose. Yes, it’s heavy, and undeniably better in cold temperatures. But it’s so lush and rich and warm, like a hug from someone you are actually glad to see.
D&R feels timeless, not dated. Very like Guerlain’s Nahema, but more approachable. It’s rose-forward, but not just a rose scent because the peach and spice add such a velvety character. It’s like a rose and peach spiced pie (but not sweet). Heavy from the benzoin and amber, and also replete with allspice or British Mixed Spice – keep out of reach of children!
You won’t enjoy this if you want something light, fresh, or gourmand. But if you have a longing for glamor and comfort, give this a try.

I just bought this because one of the reviewers said it smelled like sun moon and stars by Lagerfeld and I loved that fragrance. Well, it is just about identical when I did a side by side comparison of the two and since it is impossible to find a bottle of sun moon and stars that doesn’t smell off I’m thrilled too have this inexpensive hidden gem! Both scents were created by Sophia Grojsman so that explains the similarities. The spice is very subtle in this scent with the soft rose, white flowers and then a creamy and powder dry down. Wait before you judge this fragrance when first spraying on because my initial response was a no like until a few minutes went by and then it was wow I love it.

Diamond and Rubies on my skin is very different from Charlie Gold, its main notes are rose and spicy peaches on an amber/benzoin/vanilla .Longevity is 4 hours wth soft to moderate sillage for 2 hours. Charlie Gold is spicy caramel on my skin a very SPICED caramel, sweeter than D&R but also longer lasting (7-hours plus with heavy sillage).I find D&R better balanced and more sophisticated but this is me.

Though I am generally not a fan of designer scents, however the ET ones stand out as one of the better.
D&R is warm, round, sultry. Clearly a red rose fragrance, with subtle spices.
Strong echoes of Volupte (which is more green), Tresor (which is lighter, brighter, less spicy) and Charlie Gold…I think this is the closest match.
With Charlie Gold that can be had at $10, and D&R that can be purchased at $20… these are very reasonable scents.
If you are looking for yourself or a gift, and like any of those I mentioned, you will most probably like the others. Having said that, at the lower price point, D&R makes a more elegant presentation as a gift that Charlie Gold.
It is no coincidence that all the above were developed by the same nose. Clearly, it was a winning formula, and was retweaked for different fragrance names.
    Silage good
    Longevity excellent.

My mum bought me this back in 2012, and I adored it. Along with the other Diamond perfumes released by Elizabeth Taylor, this one is one of the best out there. Incredibly cheap as well.
It has this spicy lingering scent to it, very floral and long lasting. Though I was 16 at the time wearing this, I do agree that it is quite mature of a perfume and reminds me of vintage clothing for an odd reason.
The packaging is pretty sweet and sophisticated too. I recommend giving it a try, considering its a classic and mature scent that has a warmth to it.

This was my grandmother’s signature fragrance.

thought I would love this best based on notes; a bit rancid like rotted rose petals in a compost heap and cough syrup at first; for me the almond wood, spices and heliotrope with a funky rose dominate the top then benzoin starts to hit out but the almond note still steals the show, not in a gourmand way but competing with the rose to win; the base is where it’s at with all the notes melding to create a creamy warm cocoon to darken the almond note and turn the florals warm; dislike the top, like the base where in the final drydown the spices, including cinnamon, take hold with the rose and the sweetness

Being a fan of a couple Sophia Grojsman fragrances, I decided to give this one a try. I’m surprised how much I like it! I mean because it was pretty cheap, & I didn’t think I would like an Elizabeth Taylor perfume. I was a little worried about the cinnamon, But it’s a warm comforting gorgeous scent. I’m Glad I took the chance.

After reading the reviews on this one, I took a chance and made a blind buy. I’ve had some time to wear it and I find myself growing quite fond of it. A spicy, peachy, cinnamon-y rose that makes me feel all cozy and snuggly. It was cool and rainy here today and it fit my mood just perfectly. It brings Tresor to mind but D&R is not as sweet to my nose and somewhat softer with a touch of Ms. Taylor’s glamour. Very nice especially for the price. I’ll enjoy this in the late fall and winter or on drizzly summer days.

Musky rosy peach with a little spice. Gorgeous classic. I love this one especially having tried so many watered down and non projecting fragrances. The musk changes the rose from something fresh to something not so innocent with sooo much character. This one creates a lovely veil of musky roses…it floats. Also it lasts and lasts drying down to sweet powdery florals. Really lovely…for me a new found love.

A lovely fragrance to add to your collection. On first spray, I get this radiating spicy rose…..lovely. It continues with this loveliness until it gets to a warm, milky, powdery undertow which remains closer to your skin. The thought that came to me at the time on Saturday – we were shopping for fathers day gifts- was “this is not a poor woman’s perfume!”
My sister did not like it at all, in fact, she doesn’t really go for powdery scents and told me she does not like any of Elizabeth Taylor’s offerings. Do I think it’s dated? No. Certainly, it is different and celebrates luxury. I think it could have used a little more benzoin though….something more uplifting, perhaps the mentholated magic of a bit of tuberose. However, the spice is there. Sorry dear sister but I like this!
Power to those who love and wear this!

  14. :

I truly adore this gorgeous fragrance, Oriental, spicy-florals are some of my favorites and ET’s Diamonds & Rubies is exemplary, beautifully so, of the type.
The fragrance is a 10/10 for me due to the complex, other-worldly beauty.
Performance: She’s a total BEAST. Even though I’m a terrible over-sprayer, two sprays of D&R lasts hours and hours! Sillage is moderate to monstrous, depending upon application.
Value (bang to buck ratio) = off the charts. This fragrance is hilariously inexpensive, in diametric opposition to her beauty and quality.

Review for the Parfum : I finally get it! While I have struggled liking the edt (all I smell is pepper; occasionally I will get some rose, never any peach) the parfum in the tiny little bow bottle is gorgeous. Thick, velvety spiced rose with that fruity undercurrent; spicy with just the right amount of sweetness. Not a candied sweetness, either. Someone mentioned Tresor (which I also love) and I will throw in Spellbound as perfumes that this is similar to. I am so glad I stumbled on this and got it.
I wanted to add that the parfum is very creamy and smooth, and in the deep drydown, I can smell a very slight amaretto-like scent, which is the almonds. I have the edt on one wrist and the parfum in the other. I *do* find the edt stronger but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s a spray, whereas the parfum is a dab.

spray it lightly on your knees under your jeans. it’s a powerhouse, so go lightly.
very Sophia G. — like a spicy tressor. i smell a nose tickly, black peppery, rose, with apricot pit. i don’t smell a whole lot of peach.
to me, this isn’t dated, because i never knew it back then… love it as newly introduced to me in 2018.

Elizabeth Taylor fragrances all tell a story and take you on a ride. I am currently collecting and reviewing them all. This so far is the only Elizabeth Taylor fragrance I don’t seem to care for, and my Husband doesn’t like it either. It doesn’t smell bad, but something about it doesn’t suit my personality. At first spray I suppose it is rather peachy in a boozy sense. I think the almond comes off very bitter on my skin and when first sprayed, and that makes the spices somewhat off putting to my nose. I think the banana-ness of the ylang-ylang possibly may be a turn off. I don’t prefer the candied taste or smell of the artificial banana. The floral is dominated by the powder of rose. The rest of the floral comes off as sort of sickly sweet and off putting, I think the lilac and LOTV are in full stomach turning bloom to my nose. I think the benzoin and the vanilla add to the sick/sweet factor.
What I do like about the scent is the spices, I like the rose/floral I get when smelled in cold air. I think if I could wear this all day I would like when it dries down to the base, the Amber/Musk/Woody vanilla sounds divine! I’m looking forward to spraying this on a willing tester, because honestly perfume does either work with or against our chemistry, and just like how food tastes, smell is also a preference. I don’t believe in completely hating any perfume, because it must smell good to someone/on someone right? And if you read the reviews people adore this fume.
Now in defense of this I think it smells better on me in cold weather, and I happen to live in Florida. I tried to do a test on my arm on a January day…after it dried down I went outside to ask my Husbands opinion…I found the cold air sort of brought the floral-ness out and I was actually enjoying the scent. I’m glad I own it, I have Black Pearls and WD Luster left to collect, and all her other scents I enjoy. So I guess I was bound to not prefer one. Its interesting out of the fragrant jewels it seems there is always one that reviews mention they absolutely don’t prefer. Its interesting, because 2 out of 3 isn’t bad! Someday hopefully Ill give this a true few days to wear and see if it grows upon me, or I’m sure someone I know will love it and I can gift them the 3.3oz bottle.
Also…I wonder if Ms. Taylor liked Peach Schnapps as a mixer or in drinks. I feel like all of her fumes are part of her personality. I think this is the Party Girl Liz. Dressed to kill, something spicy was had for dinner, or perhaps a spice cake/peach tart for dessert, the garden is in full bloom and our dear Liz is holding her liquor and has a boozy peach drink in her hand. Dripping in rubies. When conjure this vision of her in my head, the scent seems right on the money!

After reading all the reviews, and being a big S. Grojsman fan, I went to the nearest perfumery shop and – I think it was a destiny – they had Diamonds and rubies, Diamonds and emeralds and diamonds and sapphires fragrances on sale for 4.99 euro eachl! So I just grabbed one Diamonds and Rubies, and as soon as I came back home, I sprayed it on my wrist (there were no testers in the shop).
I can’t believe how this fragrance reminds of Eternity! I used to wear Eternity back in a day and I know it very well. D&R is for me more Eternity and less SMS, and 100% Grojsman! Even if I didn’t know this perfume was created by her, I would have recognised her unmistakable style. The fact that I don’t detect any rose and that the fragrance develops rather cool and close to my skin might be due to the very cold winter day, and I can totally imagine how this beauty will show more dimensions when the temperatures rise. To be honest, I always passed this frag without bothering to try it – a good lesson to never underestimate the “cheap” stuff. O, and something else – this perfume is by no means old fashioned or outdated, it is a well crafted, well balanced, long lasting, beautifully presented fragrance which is worth having in the collection, especially if you are a Sophia Grojsman fan.

Purchased on a blind buy the other day for 12.99 in the Christmas gift set with the huge bottle of EDT and tube of lotion.
I really wanted to love it, but on me it’s just not great. Letting it settle, I can see how it evolves into something creamy at the end but it just doesn’t seems to sit well on me. It’s not awful, but something in the way the spice meets the rose I believe, or just in the spices don’t work on me.
I can however, see where on some women this would smell marvelous. I adore Liz Taylors Passion which is loaded with spice and generally love warm scents in cold weather so I will likely give this another try or two in the future. The scent it brings into my memory is Georgio Red, however I have not actually smelled that for many years and could be way off. Have not tried her other Diamond extensions and would most likely love one of them. So far it’s been Passion, Violet Eyes, both of which I find beautiful and White Diamonds I find quite pleasant actually if not over done.

I finally got around to buying this today, I also picked up emeralds as well but did not get saphire. So out of the two I got I loved rubies, I figured I would like emeralds more but nope rubies smells like a nice creamy peach, faint spice and I don’t detect rose like listed. The initial burst is not so pleasant but after it settles on the skin it is beautiful! it out lasted emeralds I do like emeralds but rubies stole the show! for 14 bucks it’s a steal! I love this scent, hope it never gets discontinued

Revisiting this beauty after I gave it away a few months ago.
I in fact missed it so just bought it again, it’s so affordable that the margin for error is vast!
I don’t need to add much to the descriptive reviews, I am just going to do a comparison to Nahema and Tentations.
Nahema isn’t really similar to Diamonds and Rubies (as I initially thought prior to doing a wrist to wrist comparison), it opens more smoky, more dusty rosey and feels more serious in a way.
Tentations has more peachy and sweet undertones, and it indeed shares some resemblance to D&R. It’s a bit more boozy/vanillic to my nose.
Of the three, I personally prefer D&R. Its base notes strike me as clean, spicy, powdery like only Sophia Grojsman can do. It’s a fabulous perfume, cozy, sweet, a bit dated, like a mother’s embrace. I love it.

Now, THIS is a pleasant surprise! Finally, a good,,,no…great quality scent at an unbelievable price. Not that it matters all that much when a good perfume is concerned. But still, it’s a nice bonus, so why not? Makes it easier to try out at least a couple of more from this line. But from all the reviews I can see that this is the favorite with people out of all ET perfumes. So, I will probably not say anything new about this – like to most other reviewers to me this scent is mainly boozy spicy heady ripe peach with just a hint of floral background on the bed of creamy almondy powder. To me the rose here is not prominent at all, just so very slight, and almond is very prominent. I loooove almond notes in perfumes, so that’s great! I don’t know if it’s benzoine or almond that gives the powdery dry down such a smooth creamy undertone.
I agree with the reviewer before me, Gambrina, that applying it to skin brings out the notes in this perfume much better than spraying just on clothes. My skin is naturally hot and dry. It seems that this perfume requires heat from the body to flourish fully, and the fabric of clothes will just carry the flat sweetness of it without any development.
It has this retro vibe, though, and I mean it in the best way possible. I don’t feel nothing synthetic, harsh or out of place here and I’m not easy to please, especially with cheapie scents. It reminds me of my top 5 favorite Armani Si, in the way that they are both boozy-sweet, and that I actually relish each and every spray of both of them, without any logical reasoning or noticing of notes. Just pure enjoyment. But of course, they are totally different in notes and scent, just the similar emotional response they raise in me. I guess I like booze and sweets))

A lot of people accuse this perfume in being cheap and smelling chemical. At first I would agree, partially, but after you let it stand for a while and apply to a hot wet skin (my natural skin condition) it turns out marvelously classy like a perfume of an opera diva or a movie star.
I think the common mistake people make is applying it directly on the clothes or on dry cold skin. I believe so after trying it on my handkerchief a few times, where even after a time it smelled like some logistic product.
Try it on the skin after hot bath or shower and under the clothes to preserve the smell and it will blossom on you like it was intended to.

  25. :

I’ll be agreeing with the two reviewers above my review. However, I’ll be agreeing ONLY in relation to the EDT. If one wants to truly enjoy this, the parfum is the only way to go.
Not to sound horrid or anything. My opinion is very much the same for things like Coco Noir
Ebay will probably have vintages of this (discontinued long ago) relatively affordably for a 3.7mL bottle.
My argument is very much the same for all of the Diamonds (White, Emeralds and Sapphire), the parfums are the only real way to go and the only way they blossom. The EDTs are almost vile.

  26. :

this is my second time wearing this fragrance and looks like I’ve come to same conclusion on both occassions, which is… spiced powdery peaches with some white floral background.
The only reason why it’s kind of disappointing for me is because I sampled this hoping it would be a rose dominant frag.
I think this would be less suited for a rose lover and more suited for a spicy chypre fan.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

Totally agree with SmokeySings78, until I read her review, I was too cowardly to write one of my own because I don’t love this fragrance at all. I have noticed a sad trend on this website, if someone doesn’t agree with your review of a fragrance, they’ll give you a thumbs down.
I am not sure that the thumbs down function was intended to be used simply because you do or don’t like the fragrance that someone is writing lovely compliments about or panning it…I think this proves that we do not live in a society where a different opinion is tolerated, it’s immediately attacked by the vigilantes who have a different take on it. The thumbs up button is fabulous, and I use it often, especially when the review is written well.
On to the fragrance, I bought it blindly because it was so beloved by many reviewers here, and it was such a bargain basement price. On me this is so pedestrian, Elnett hairspray with some artificial chemicals thrown in. Now that’s on me, I am sure that it smells gorgeous on those of you who have praised it to the heavens.

I am jealous of those that this smells beautiful for. For me, to me, this smells like hairspray, the kind used in hair salons back in the day where the stylist teased-and-sprayed, teased-and-sprayed, teased-and-sprayed, and all the ladies’ hair looked pretty much the same..big and poofy. Think 1960’s (and even early 1970’s) hair salon smell, where there always seemed to be a persistent cloud of hairspray in the air. I know of what I speak, as I went with mom and my aunts more times than I care to remember to the hair salon as a child.
I kept hoping this dried down to something else, but sadly this stayed that heavy vintage very alcohol hairspray smell. Just has a very chemical, highly alcohol, cheap scent to me. Not even a remote “perfume” smell.
Sad, because in looking at the notes, this looks like this has the potential to be amazing. I even tested this on a clean blouse with no other scents (washed with unscented detergent), hanging in a wide open room. Still the heavy chemical hairspray smell. This one is a pass. Still a little jealous of those who can rock this. But for me, it smells like nuclear hairspray.

Diamonds & Rubies parfum is quite similar to Guerlain’s Nahema.
Both open in such a way that might remind one of jelly crystals. This is mostly likely due to the peach & rose combo.
The spices that aren’t listed, to me, seem to be soft nutmeg, corriander seeds and pepper.
Would be 10/10 if it weren’t for the longevity. Just beautiful

I followed the reviews on here and purchased the current EDT. Sorry, I don’t think it’s nice :o) Cannot be compared to beautiful “Tentations”! Smells chemical and cheap.
I’ve just came across a vintage mini of Chloe Narcisse and I find it to be very similar to D&R, they share 8 notes.

I have a pure perfume in mini. It’s a warm spicy peach with ambery, woody base notes. It’s a quite long lasting scent and a lovely one indeed! I love Sophia Grojsman’s creations, they all are so feminine!
I’m not sure how it compares to the currently sold EDT, if someone can explain that I’d appreciate it.

    One word – SUBLIME
This is an exquisite fragrance – polished, smooth, rich, opulent, elegant and simply divine. Can’t believe I only discovered it this year! It is so well blended, I can’t single out specific notes. If I had to describe it I’d say it’s a fruity, rosy powder bomb.
Longevity is astounding! This is a top quality fragrance for a ridiculous price!

If I didn’t know better when I sprayed this on, I would have sworn on a stack of Bibles that the fragrance I’m wearing is the erstwhile Sun Moon Stars by Karl Lagerfeld (from all those many eons ago).
From initial application all the way to the dry down, to my nose and on my skin, Diamonds & Rubies is an olfactory dead-ringer for SMS. I find the sillage and longevity comparable to SMS as well.
    Fragrance: 10/10
    Longevity: 6/10
    Sillage: 6/10
Edit: Diamonds & Rubies is a tiny, tiny shade spicier in the opening; that’s the only difference my nose can discern. I am seriously considering as the one and only possible replacement/ doppleganger for f SMS since that’s been discontinued and D&R is a (knock on wood!) readily-available, affordable dead-ringer.

Diamonds and Rubies was the first ET perfume I ever tried. It was a blind buy a few weeks ago, and what a lovely surprise it was too. It smells more expensive than it is (seriously, HOW is this a £10 perfume?) and I find myself reaching for this quite often. Lasts all day too. I might have to buy a back up.

Yesterday I purchased 100 ml of Eau de Toilette for a shade under £8 from The Perfume Shop in the UK, so its still available. Weirdly when I asked for it the sales assistant had to get it from under the counter, as if it were some sort of illicit product.
I absolutely loved the opening – a whole bouquet of red roses. In truth I didn’t get much else (its obviously me), no peach, no anything else, the roses were very ‘in your face’. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining, I had a big grin of my face because I absolutely loved the smell and was very comfortable with it – at home. Going out with it on was a different matter. The projection, seemed to me, as though I was trusting a bunch of roses under every one’s nose as I passed them. If I were younger I probably wouldn’t have minded so much (you’re rebellious when you’re young, and want to make a statement), but as an old timer, I’ll admit I was uneasy. Maybe I put a bit too much on.
The opening note lasted several hours, slowly but linearly transforming in to a creamy powdery base, too milky and creamy for me – I like a ‘dry’ powder, lots of benzoin. Unfortunately I didn’t get it or the musk that I, personally, prefer. Longevity was very good – a good 9 hours.
    Stunning value for money.

Hello from Deco Dawn this is my review of Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds and Rubies. Following the excellent reviews on here I blind bought D & R. I am delighted the opening is a huge explosion of carnations and Rose. I wasn’t too sure to start with if this was going to be a scrubber. But within half an hour the heart and base had developed into an extraordinary fragrance very warm, sensual and full of Eastern promise. I love the Packaging in a Red Box and the ‘White Diamonds’ bottle design with diamond cuff around the bottom of the lid. The quality of the ingredients the longevity and silage is very good indeed and for the price quite incredible as this fragrance smells very expensive. Guerlain Nahema is almost identical and retails at over £100 quid in the UK. Elizabeth Taylor fragrances are amazing value for money. Every woman of a certain age, I am 50 but very young at heart should own this fragrance or buy it as a gift. An ideal Christmas present due to the colour of the packaging but perfect all year round. Try it you will love it.

Just blind bought this based on the reviews here and I’m certainly glad I did. It’s gorgeous. I can understand why some have said it’s like Sun Moon Stars, I detect the similarities too but this is much spicier and warm. Sun Moon Stars was more similar to Eternity in my opinion. I also agree with one reviewer who thinks it’s similar to Giorgio Red too, I get the similarities as well.
It was really cheap, £10 and it smells so expensive. It lasts hours on me too, I like perfumes that last, makes me feel I’m getting my money’s worth and this was such a bargain, I’ll definitely buy it again 🙂

How can this be £10 for 100ml? The world has gone mad!
This is absolutely gorgeous! Its the smell of old Hollywood. Rose, spice, peach and the loveliest powder. A divine combination.
I feel like I should be wearing a ball gown and jewels when I spritz this on. The name is just perfect and doesn’t feel cynical. Perhaps the original celebrity scents set the bar higher?
Just beautiful, anyway. And great sillage, wonderful longevity to boot.
    Thrilled to have discovered this.

You know when you overlook something because it is a “cheapie” or others in the line were not quite you, or not quite what you expected. This. Stunning, slightly powdery, spicy, peachy rose. I get a lot of cloves in this. I was wearing Chanel Coco EDT earlier and suddenly began to crave something more peachy. I was going to go with Mitsouko, but I remembered I had this stashed away. Boom! Big love for when I am craving a spiced peach. It is ever so slightly soapy in the drydown, but not overbearing.
I am actually slightly obsessed with this now. It is the delicate powder, I get an orris-like feel from it. This crept up on me. Big, big love and I am wearing it in summer heat. Gorgeous!

Well…all I can say is THANK YOU to the lovely posters who recommended this as similar to sun moon stars!
It is indeed very similar – perhaps not that surprising as they are both by the great Sophia grosjman – buy I would never have even tried this if I hadn’t seen it recommended on here.
It’s gorgeous…deep and subtle at the same time.
    And such a pretty bottle!
For £10 for 100mls on amazon…whats not to like!!

So, I have had about a week with D&R, and it is firmly in the “like” category. It is a good perfume, certainly smells like I spent more than I did, and it dries down to this lovely, peachy, powdery rose. The issue comes with the opening for me. It has to be the pepper interacting with either another note or my skin chemistry, but it takes a good 15 minutes for that menthol/eucalyptus note to go away. To be fair, though, no one else seems to smell it on me, so it may actually literally be just my brain confusing what my nose is smelling.
All in all, I am pleased I got it and I will certainly wear it. D&R is a great afternoon perfume to spray on before you leave for town. The projection stays within an inch or two of the skin and I get about 4 hours of longevity before it dies away completely. If I was in love with this, I would definitely order any lotion to layer with it and help it hold.
Pretty good buy for the price.
UPDATE: I am keeping the above review but wanted to add that the longer I have had with this, the more I have grown to love it. It still doesn’t scream “roses” to me but it is a beautiful, comforting scent. I wear it out but I also love it for bed time. The moral of the story: never be too quick to judge a perfume. Officially moving it to LOVE after having had it for almost 2 months.
UPDATE 6/11/17: I sprayed this on at 09 this morning. It is now 1700. (9am and 5 pm). Washed my hands numerous times, been outside down and the barn with my goats, etc. and it is still projecting about 2 inches from my skin. Getting lovely wisps of warm, spiced rose very now and then when I’m not sniffing my arms, too.

I think I am going to need to spend more time with this. I blind bought it because I typically love Sophia Grosjman’s perfumes — hello, Tresor! — but so far, I like this but it is not an enthusiastic like. It opens with a menthol/eucalyptus note on my skin. I smell like I’ve rubbed down in Ben Gay (a topical pain relief ointment in the US). I will spend a few more days with it and update.

I just blind bought this and I love it. It is creamy, soft, and feminine floral with a true ruby gemstone feeling in the scent- and it is extremely well blended with the elements. Yay!
    God Bless!

Very similar to more expensive fragrances like Guerlain Nahema but without paying the hefty price. This is a very beautiful powdery dusty, woodsy rose with a hint of creamy peaches, jasmine and ylang-ylang and subtle spice. It does justice to the retro versions of fragrance of old Hollywood glamour, very Rita Hayworth, something I would expect a gorgeous red hair beauty to wear. If you’re looking for some retro glam, this is it! I find this to be the best of the Elizabeth Taylor fragrances in creating a glamorous, luxurious fragrance.

Good but NOT as good as Diamonds and Emeralds. A giant bottle for $14.99 ? Who’s complaining ?

Peach is a powdery fruit, but on my skin this is not at all powdery like Fancy Love , all peachy talc (I love powdery scents but not soapy). It has a spicy flavour too, but not that spicy too, like Gucci Guilty, Obsession, Coco. If you don’t like spices, as must be the case since D&R is mild, please don’t buy any spicy perfume and keep smelling D&R to see if you can grow to love spicy scents.Because if we keep wearing the same kind of perfumes one day we won’t be able to even smell them.We have to evolve our tastes, adding and expanding our horizons.

I bought the smaller size for $8 on Amazon, as a blind buy. I like White Diamonds parfum, not the EDT, and decided to try this and Violet Eyes. I’m not sure how I feel about this one yet. It’s definitely the way it is described-warm spicy, and I get a fruity/peachy scent, along with a lot of powder. I don’t like this as much as White Diamonds parfum. I like Violet Eyes better too, it doesn’t have the powdery scent. I c
