I’m not always a big fan of rose, but I really like what Dame does with it. The geranium and carnation compliment the rose beautifully and I love the spiciness these notes provide. I also get hints of peach, powder, and vanilla. Very nice!
faozzpkzjoy – :
sweet flowery fruity juicy jammy rose with an odd green cinnamon note that is completely pure geranium but then dries down brassy to fruity chemical; this fragrance is really about the geranium not the rose
sasha_kolo – :
What a treat. Luscious and delicately spiced rosiness for people who love to catch whiffs of of real roses, but don’t want to smell like grandma’s bathroom. I think it is special because of the carnation.
My husband and sons have rejected about 3 other rose perfumes already, but to this one they had the same reaction as I did: “mmmmmmmmm so pretty!” Doesn’t that say it all?
I think this takes a turn about 2 hours in and becomes a really intriguing scent, one I actually don’t associate with roses, kind of addicting… is it the heliotrope and amber mixed with carnation spice? Whatever it is I’m all in and love the dry down.
This is a beautiful feel-good scent for sure. Lasting power is good, and is just the most perfectly pleasing rose perfume I’ve ever smelled.
Lexacom – :
I have found Dame to be oddly polarizing to my nose. I either love it enough for a full bottle, or really, really dislike it. I’ve never sniffed one of his and thought “meh.” This is one I dislike. I was excited to try it, as it features notes I like. On first dab it was a heavy geranium with rose and carnation. Sounds good, but the combo is almost nasal piercing and sour/sharp, like citrus. That faded after a bit, and turned into powdery potpourri that you’d find in a dusty corner of a tourist shop. Not good on me!
vilka2007 – :
A softspoken sweetheart of a rose, complemented but never overshadowed by its supporting notes. It smells natural and effortless, but elegant at the same time — no trace of hippie-dom here. I could inhale it forever, but found the performance to be rather poor, relatively short-lived and close to the skin. There is, however, a good reason for this: the use of natural rose otto and rose absolute.
One can also consider the upsides of a fragrance that has this quiet quality: it will make a good bedtime or close-quarter fragrance, or a safe bet in the increasingly fragrophobic public/work-spaces of North America.
I consider it like strengthened, decorated rosewater, therapeutic and restorative rather than a fragrance one can or should really lean on during the working day.

I bought this for my sister but I thought I would give it a sniff first. With full disclosure I do not like rose at all so it’s no surprise I didn’t like this but it is for the ladies.
In any case, my very first impression was hand soap and my second was that awesome musk scent Dame uses like in New Musk Man. I love that part of the scent. I can’t wait to smell this on my sister, then I will update this review with both our opinions.
Update: OK, went to Father’s Day party gave it so my sister and she didn’t like it 🙁 Said it was way too soapy. I then sprayed another lady and immediately said the same thing “Oh my, smells way too much like soap” so here I have a 5 ml sample and no one wants it. I thought they would like the dry down like me but nope….
rne501speagoessenda – :
A beautiful sweet luxurious velvety rich and fresh rose. Lovely, really gorgeous. Not at all harsh, or cloying, or too ‘jammy’ sweet – just perfect. Gentle and eloquent. Delightful. Feminine, elegant, fresh and smooth – opulent. Graceful. Sensual and perfect. Lasts a long time, and carries gently a few feet to give glorious pleasure to those around me. I feel like a queen.
inr.arz – :
Dame very generously sent me five free samples even though I only ordered one sample spray of Black Flower. This was one of my favorites. I always seem to appreciate a composition with peach. This rose manages to somehow be both jammy and fresh at the same time. It feels lush, feminine, and fabulous. However, when the carnation combined with geranium comes through in the heart it turns more medicinal and cough syrupy. For me this ruins the perfume, but that is just my personal taste. I am not a fan of carnation and that is why I didn’t order a sample myself. In spite of not wholly being my thing, I still think this is a good rose perfume worth your time if the notes are to your liking.
romchen – :
Usually rose scents do not agree with me and make me sneezy and cough. This rose scent is lovely. When first applied, I smelled a clear, lush rose with a hint of spice. It toned down within minutes to a smoother scent, with soft vanilla and a hint of amber peaking thru, but maintaining rose as the leading lady for the next 4 hours. It became a skin scent after that. A rose fragrance by any other name, does not smell this sweet.
Oblighblothrg – :
As a vintage enthusiast, I enjoy modern creations that wink back to the vintage age of perfumery. The Turkish rose, Egyptian jasmine, all found in some classic floral scents of years past.
But this takes it into the modern sensibilities without a huge amount of silage, a beautiful skin scent, but put together in a classy way. The drydown does get powdery for me and my chemistry, but as a vintage lover it keeps things fresh on a hot day. The opening with the rose and tinge of lemon keeps things clean, neat and fresh but still rich. I wish there was more carnation to give it a more spicy heft, but thats just me.I was given a sample with a purchase for this review. If you like a rich modern rose with a nod to the past but in a modern way, this is for you.
almaks – :
Sweet, juicy, jammy rose. Reminded me a little of Annick Goutal Ce Soir Ou Jamais, but not quite as boozy–it doesn’t have that red wine note. Which is fine by me–I adore CSOJ, but the booziness makes it difficult to wear during the day. Love at first sniff, and it stays that beautifully rosy all the way down. I will definitely be buying a full bottle.
EmpamussapMub – :
This opened with such a lovely classic / vintage vibe –
Rose that smells just like my rose water mingled with peach and a little vanilla and just a little tiny bit of amber.
It just said, “pretty, innocent and elegant” to me.
However, a few minutes in, heliotrope (and to a lesser degree, amber) took over the show on my skin, which triggered a headache.
I had to scrub it off. (Darn! *kicks rocks*)
It seems that this fragrance is one that evolves in stages and with an opening that pretty, I’d like to see where it goes. I think someday I will re-try it, but perhaps lower on my body (backs of my knees, maybe?) and see what happens.
Unfortunately, for now I have to give this one a high “headache index”: 9/10
Be well and happy sniffing! <3

A rose for the rose averse! I’m not a huge rose fan. I swing from white waxy heady florals to unisex citrus and woodsy scents. I’m not a rose gal. I find them to usually be suffocating. But I appreciated the elegance and refinement of a good rose fragrance so I’m always checking them out. One of my favorite roses is L’ombre dans L’eau by Diptyque. It’s a dry rose hidden behind a mass layer of cassis. You have to look for the rose…. Desert Rose is a sweeter fragrance (likely due to the peach) but the rose is still dry and hidden a bit. I like that about it. I got a very generous selection of samples with my last order from Mr. Dame. I hear he’s famous for it. 😉 And it’s a lovely way to try new things. I’ll be honest, the juice in the bottle did nothing for me. But it comes to life, gently. I work with several folks who are not fragrance fans, but I threw caution to the wind and wore it today. I was light with just a few drops, and that’s all that’s needed. It’s a very refined scent that I’m sure I’d be willing to pay a ton more for if I came across her at a fancy shop. I love indy houses and am grateful for this one! I’m considering the small rollerball since a little of this goes a long way and I’d wonder if blasting it via spray would be overwhelming.

Other reviews lead me to believe that this was a fresh and sweet rose, and I adore roses both natural and confected. (Dirt dog, to compare this fragrance to the rose ‘Mr Lincoln’ is to damn a fine and fragrant rosebush with the faintest of praise!)
Alas, this fragrance is a sour artificial sherbetty floral from the moment it hits my skin. It reminds me of floral toilet cleaner to be honest, with very little rose in evidence.(My daughter said it reminded her of ‘school soap’.)
Once the top notes burn off it becomes more powdery, but not more rose-y, and certainly not more natural.
This scent is much better in the bottle than it is on my skin, where it becomes a car-crash of conflicting, artificial notes that is strongly reminiscent of the olfactory potpourri effect one finds in a candle store.
Desperately unpleasant.
ramiros – :
The perfect rose perfume. Captures the true essence of the flower while remaining fresh and airy.

Firsty, I don’t like rose notes. I don’t know why, just never have. However, this is THE most beautiful rose perfume I’ve ever smelled. And I smell hundreds of perfumes. It is so well thought out. There is a slight whisper of spice and a touch of sweet that makes this such a unique floral.
sanya2276 – :
Beautifully balanced rose!
Fresh yet not strident.
Softly Jammy yet never, EVER cloying.
Gently spicy without being powdery or masculine.
I’m reminded of a traditional unisex rose cologne from Portugal, only Desert Rose has a touch of jammy goodness and better longevity. It has the best of the old and the new, without ever smelling of candy rose or air freshener.
The only drawback is actually a bonus, depending on how you look at it. Desert Rose is not a powdery or musky rose. She has no relation whatever to Rose Ombre and other vintage bath-powder roses.
In addition, this is by no means a tea rose, meaning that it may not appeal to those who love the sharp florist scent of Perfumer’s Workshop Tea Rose. But the rest of us are in for a treat!
Utterly charming. <3

At first I get a blast of powder. Straight baby powder. When that wears down I can smell the rose, sandalwood, and musk. It is quite floral and maybe a little too floral for my tastes, but it is lovely. i think business casual and could be business professional as it isnt offensive and not a large sillage. overall a really nice perfume that i think is more for 30+ but perhaps a little too floral for me. i tend to like more unisex fragrances but if you like rose a creamy, musky, dry rose then this is for you!

As a desert rose gardener here in Scottsdale, this fragrance is Me in a Bottle. This rose is not a sweet, pink musk rose, nor is it a florist red Tea Rose…it’s a huge, apricot Abraham Darby rose…pale, cool, yet containing a secretive spice. It is refreshing in heat, and full of energy. Years ago I fell in love with a Dame perfume called Wanderlust. Its rose notes made me swoon. Desert Rose reminds me of that long-loved fragrance, only its even better. It has that classic Parisian rose feel, complete with the warmth and the mystique of the Sonoran desert. A must-have for me.
SvetlanSehjy – :
Wonderful! Before I tried Desert Rose, I had a secret hope that it would be a waxy rose, like a votive candle, and indeed it is! I got that waxy rose vibe from Aqaba, but the cloves were just too much. Here we have a sweet, waxy rose with just the faintest, most delicate touch of spice, almost imperceptible. I knew it wasn’t clove. I knew it wasn’t cinnamon. Now that I see carnation in the mix, it makes absolutely perfect sense.
In fact, Desert Rose reminded me of the original Miss Dior Cherie. Wait a minute–hear me out! It *reminded me*. It wasn’t the same by any means. But I could have sworn this was a strawberry rose, it was rather fruity. As it dried down, the waxiness became more prominent, and the strawberry-ness faded almost completely.
I don’t know about a desert rose because to me it is more like a church rose. What I mean is that votives remind me of churches and alters and such. It’s a stretch, but I guess the waxiness kind of makes me imagine the way that melted sand might smell.
While there are these enjoyable subtleties, Desert Rose behaves like a rose soliflore. It’s all about rose here. I loved rose perfumes as far back as my teen years, and about 3 years ago I guess you can say that I “OD’d” on them. Desert Rose has re-sparked my interest.

This will be my final of 12 rose scents reviewed from my collection for Valentines day 2016. And I have saved the best for last. I will compare Desert Rose by Jeffrey Dame to the magnificent Mister Lincoln rose. Mister Lincoln probably is the best selling garden rose of all time and it just does everything well. Sterling Silver might have the best form of all time and Mister Lincolns grandparent Oklahoma might have a deeper darker richer fragrance. So there are some roses that beat Mister Lincoln in some respects. But when you put them all together and consider, form, function, frequency of bloom repeat, fragrance, ease of growth, and beauty. Mister Lincoln is the President and in charge.
Desert Rose by Jeffrey Dame is like Mister Lincoln. I think that anyone could buy this fragrance, and genuinely know that they have a rose fragrance that is as good as any ever put in a bottle. Desert Rose is that rare bouquet of 12 perfect long stemmed red roses with a hint of babys breath that every person that’s ever been loved hopes to get at least once in their life. While I gave a good review to Sirene, I think Desert Rose is better. I believe that Jeffrey Dame is the nose behind the both of them and that he took the template of Sirene and improved on it. With Dame you have Rose, Geranium, Jasmine, Peach, Vanilla and Musk while with Sirene you have Rose, Geranium, Jasmine, Peach, Vanilla and Musk. However there is a slight divergence. Sirene has violet and Dame runs to Heliotrope and Sirene claims woodsy notes while Dame admits to using Sandalwood. And also Dame uses Sicilian Lemon versus the Sirene note of Orange.
Where I feel that Desert Rose stands out from Sirene and many of its other competitors is that Jeffrey Dame has created a rose scent where Rose gets to be the star. And that is what I am looking for in a top tier rose fragrance. This is not an ensemble piece like Sirene. And you do not need an oud to distract from the rose like you see in so many of the so called top rated rose scents by youtube reviewers. This is that fragrance of very rare note that stars rose and lets it get top billing.
Jeffrey Dame is obviously a man that loves the desert. However, I find this fragrance to be less of a Desert Rose and more of a perfect garden rose. It shines and absolutely glows for what it is not. It is not a blend. It is not a musk rose or a spicy rose or an oud or darkened rose. This is a rose fragrance without need of distraction. It is not overly loud or screechy and it is not retiring or afraid of its beauty. It is a rose that lives where it needs to be.
Mister Lincoln comparisons hold apt. It sits in the garden, here I am and I am beautiful and I am what you want me to be. And it grows, and repeats its bloom, and does not demand attention and work, and is ready for you whenever you care to notice it. Its beautiful in the garden from spring to fall, and its beautiful when cut and brought inside. Its beautiful as a gift. And it owns respect.
I shall rate performance and sillage as good. I like to see Niche get to 10 hours and this one does. Honestly, there are many roses that outperform Desert Rose and I think that in perfumery Rose is one of the loudest notes. Jeffrey Dame has toned things down just a bit but kept the heart and strength of the note. It would be easy to over spray this one as it is with almost any rose fragrance and if you do then it is going to be loud and you just might not like it. I almost feel that if Dame did try to go beast mode with this fragrance that he would have taken it too far and tilted it towards performance instead of quality of scent. This is where I want a fragrance like this to be. I can tone down the volume by spraying a bit less or amp up the performance by spraying more. Its my choice how I want it to behave and it hits the sweet spot of where I want my rose fragrances to live.
Value is average. Desert Rose lives in the Dame artisan line. And he charges more for them. They do come in perfume strength. And the best thing is that his father does the artwork for them. I cannot decide if I love the artwork of the Artisan line better than the fragrance itself. Im such a fanboy of this mans father. The guy can paint but I really like the line of the drawings he has done for this fragrance. If you order this fragrances ask for a postcard. Its frameable. Anyway, its rare that I am willing to pay over $50 an ounce for any fragrance including niche and this one clocks in at around $40 an ounce. If there is a problem with price it is only that there are many other Dame fragrances that are also amazing that give you twice as much. This fragrance is not the most affordable you could find but it stands toe to toe with any rose fragrance ever made and some of them cost a whole lot more than Desert Rose.
As far as usage goes. For me, it is good but not heavy. I came home from from a long trip a year ago and found a sample sitting on my porch. And I insta bought a full bottle. Dame has been generous to me and I think other of his customers about making samples available. And as much as I do love this one, I do find it to have a bit of similar dna to Sirene and frankly, I own a lot of Sirene. Desert Rose is the better scent but its close. I use Sirene for normal use and Desert Rose when I want something a bit more special. I think its safe to say that I wear both a lot. As for repeatability of purchase, there is no question in my mind that should I drain the bottle that I would rebuy this fragrance. Id buy a backup bottle if there werent other Dames I still dont own. Again, I have never smelled any rose fragrance that I like better than this one. I have smelled many many many that were different and that had lot of good attributes. But never one that could outshine this one on a total basis.
If I have a problem with the value of Dame Fragrances it almost is that there are starting to be too many of them. I used to own them all but there are now 20 of them to buy and another if you consider an extra version of Musk Man. I wear Dame a lot and its probably my most worn fragrance house but I am buying them faster than I am using them and I have some that I haven’t tried yet that I want to buy in the near future. Its getting hard to use up some of these bottles when I have a dozen others from the same house sitting on the shelf smiling at me. And then there is Ulysse and Sirene and Animale and Bronze …. etc.
Overall, I am going to grade this one out at 95 and a solid A grade as being excellent. It is the second highest grade that I have given a fragrance only behind Mate Heliotrope and Patchouli. Like Mister Lincoln, I think there are slight areas of improvement here and there but overall I think that Desert Rose is a masterpiece.
Im honestly tired of fragrance companies making rose fragrances that come at you with megaphones and stentorian voice and then try to distract you by adding oud or dark notes to shadow the screech. Tom Ford just gets so much love in the fragrance community and his fragrances all seem dark to me with doom and gloom and heaviness. Jeffrey Dame is a being of light. His fragrances like himself have a sense of kindness and brightness and a wealth of glad. And I think Desert Rose is another of note. I do not get the Desert vibe of this one but its beautiful and maybe it has a sense of the desert after the rain where you just know you are walking in beauty. Not so much the rose that you find but the process of the hike itself. I do not need a rose to yell at me. And I do not want one that hides its beauty to change focus of attention. I do not need youtube reviewers shaking their fists at the skies and screaming, “BEAST MODE !!!!”.
I have spent more money buying samples and decants of Tom Ford fragrances than I care to admit. And not once, have I ever met one that I wanted to buy a full bottle or even admit to myself that I honestly like. Sometimes, I think if Tom Ford were to pass to the life next that Saint Peter would meet him at the gates, “Black Orchid ?!? Really Tom? a crotch note? Really?” If Tom Ford scents come from a devilishly dark place, Jeffrey Dames seem to be wearable and heavenly.
When I want to wear a rose, I want to put it on, smell rose, and enjoy it. And Desert Rose lets me do that, perfectly. As honestly do all of the Dame scents when you start talking about actual wearability. I use these guys. My bottles have dents in them. Even Herb Man is starting to get low. Jeffrey Dame has fragrances that I havent even tried yet and Im wondering if I should buy them first or start in on backup bottles.
Mister Lincoln is a hybrid tea that sets the standard to which other roses are judged. And Dame perfumery is doing the same thing. Andy Tauer is a great guy and he has a budget line these days that is called Tauerville. Hes giving discounts on pre sales of new products and being generous with samples. And I think and hope that he and his line will do better because of it.
Desert Rose has 2 problems. The first is that it lives in a lineup of other Dame scents and there are many others from the house that are also very good and its getting harder to own them all. The other is that it is at the very least a cousin to Sirene which also is excellent and far cheaper.
When you think of Mister Lincoln you think of a rose that’s popular, affordable, hearty and disease resistant, easy to grow, productive, long stemmed, well formed, and fragrant, and for the last 50 years there have been a lot of imitators that have come and gone with very few of them stil kicking around trying to compete. I hope that Desert Rose achieves this kind of success.
When you factor out distractions like Oud, Musk, Spices, competing florals, loud roses, soft roses, fruits, jams, sweets, or whatever. Jeffrey Dame Desert Rose is to my nose the best let the rose be the star of the show fragrance that I have yet to smell. It sells for an entirely reasonable price and outshines dozens of others that sadly get more hype and buzz.
Desert Rose is unquestionably excellent and perhaps aptly named as it is a rose that desert blooms in a sea of rose scents that seem lost and know drought.

I received a free sample of this fragrance yesterday from the very generous Mr. Dame, and am in love. Like the other scents produced by this perfumery, their take is so interesting. Rose-based perfumes are my second favorite scent family, after citruses, and I’ve sampled all that I can get my hands on over the years. I have to say, this scent is so delightfully different. Not a piercing, ‘cool’ rose as so many are, this scent has depth and warmth, with the dusky rose more of a team player. Will be ordering a full-sized version.

Jammy rose and carnation, spicy.
Completely agree with AneV’s review.
SweentTew – :
Desert Rose: Ugh, horrible, strong, cloying rose perfume. Not for me at all; probably the worst of his fragrances I’ve tried and I love most of his fragrances and rose fragrances in general. Very “vintage gone bad” to my nose. I hate to give a poor review, but it’s so obnoxious on me.
Dim4ik43 – :
I am loving the Dame Perfumerie Scottsdale line. This one isn’t a match for me, on my skin it turns potpurri, but i really like it on paper and the bottle, so it’s my skin’s fault i won’t be adding this one to collection.
Mentioning this because i don’t recommend for a blind buy, especially since Jeffrey Dame will send you sample if you send him a postcard. (I found this info on their website! )
gordei30 – :
This is a rosier version of Lagerfield’s Sun Moon Stars; it is a lightly powdered peach in a similar 90’s Grojsman style, with sandalwood and carnation. That said, it’s not a dupe but is pretty in its own way. I like rose but often find it to be overwhelming; this is not. It is distinctly rose but a dusty, subtle, understated rose. The name is apropos, and I think the fragrance would appeal to rose fans; but also to those looking for something a little retro, those who like a light powdery floriental. It’s classy in sort of a boho kind of way. A pretty scent I’m glad I was able to sample!
Xeroxmbyxa – :
Out of the gate seems a little ordinary and reminds me of other things I’ve smelled but can’t place, but about 20 minutes in is a really pretty rosey geranium that feels set apart. Definitely has the earthy spiciness of geranium, but so nicely blended, it’s like a rose and a geranium had a baby. There is something about it that reminds me of some of the new-agey shops in Sedona, AZ. Very pleasant, a definite try for rose lovers.
Brattlcc – :
I knew the risk that it might ring feminine as it’s listed for women (not unisex) on the Dame Perfumery website, but being a fan of rose scents, I wanted to try Desert Rose, and it’s a very pleasant scent, mixing a strong rose combination with other florals, most of which I cannot detect individually.
The dry down involves a pleasant combination of musk and vanilla, with neither taking over fully. I’d best classify this as a women’s scent with day/night and all-season versatility. It’s dense enough to be taken seriously and work in the winter but wholly balanced and floral enough to work in more casual, daytime scenarios.
I wouldn’t recommend this for men, but women who enjoy rose should enjoy this. I believe a woman of any age could pull this off.

vasilyeva.tatyana1 – :
Well named rose and geranium perfume that has an unusual piquancy not normally found in rose perfumes. There’s a dusky powdery feel from the vanilla/amber/musk hovering in the background, but this one is all about the rose tempered with crisp geranium. It’s soft and sharp at the same time, red and amber, warm and cool. All the contrasts of the desert in a high speed time lapse film, whose finale is an opalescent pink sunrise over giant stone mesas. The sweetest rose spiced with geranium seasoned by desert air.
Guasiabeaddet – :
I’ve admired the EDTs that I had sampled from Dame Perfumery, but I didn’t fall head over heels with any of them.
I do like his Mexican Vanilla EDP, but unfortunately something in it or about it irritates me physically, as some perfumes do.
But Desert Rose? Oh, my, oh, my, what a creamy, opulent (to quote another reviewer), and sophisticated bit of juice is this. I normally detest rose perfumes, but this one is an exception.
Longevity is good, but this is an understated, warm rose fragrance. It’s not loud or brash but more soft and subtle.
I am now the proud owner of my first full bottle of one of Jeffery’s creations.
fralgamma – :
I am completely in love with this scent. I love rose, but it usually turns soapy and sharp on me. Not this one. On me this is sweet (but NOT in a childish, candy floss way), dense and creamy. Opulent is the word that comes to mind. What I love about Dame Perfumery scents is the masterly way they blend the ingredients. I can smell the peach, but thank goodness it’s subtle as I don’t like fruity scents. And the fantastic staying power! Did I mention what a wonderful staying power it has? Finally, a scent that gives you your money’s worth. Not like those ripoffs that cost the earth only to evaporate before they dry on your skin. I will most certainly get a full bottle of this gorgeous scent.
Jeff, may I suggest a turly spicy oriental scent next, for those of us who prefer our scents on the dark, more sinful side? Perhaps something with cinnamon and clove and resins and stuff like that? You would do it SO well. 🙂
Fleeffivy – :
Desert Rose is a very lovely full bodied rose, opening in full bloom, red and jammy on my skin. Then the rose gets a few thorns with the geranium and a bit of dryness in the mid-phase of its development. It does feel like a rose in the desert during this phase, but in a good way.
As the scent develops further it becomes fruity with the peach and turns softer and warmer with the amber and vanilla. This fragrance has good sillage, and great longevity. It had good sillage on me for about 6 hours and remained as a skin scent for over 12 hours. If you like a bit more quiet rose, just spray under your clothes or only use a couple of little sprays. If you like a big rose, then spray away.
hsw304bedyWelty – :
I get rose( i loved that the rose wasn’t to in your face) carnation( reminded me of Etro Dianthus)
and a honey note ( amber? peach?) very pleasant and stayed for a good six hrs.

I like ‘rose’ perfumes and have several which I wear. I’ve just discovered a new Rose which will definitely have frequent wear — Desert Rose by Dame Perfumery. It is very beautiful, wears well, has fantastic longevity, average sillage and comes at a very reasonable price. What’s not to love?
Roses sometimes go sour or sharp on my skin. I usually associate certain colors of roses with the way they smell. To my nose, and on my skin, Desert Rose is a dark pink rose, not a deep, red rose. It is not a deep and mysterious scent – what is sometimes called a “dark rose”, and I don’t detect that rose/violet note which is often found in rose perfumes. Desert Rose is warm and sweet, but not candy sweet. It is not a rose that reminds me of cosmetics. Desert Rose reminds me of a rose in bloom, its petals warmed by the sun. It is remarkably smooth and stays much the same for its entire life on my skin. I happen to love the linear wear in this case because I adore it as it goes on and enjoy it until it gently fades away after about 6 hours.
