Description
Prada is launching new exclusive collection of fragrances called Prada Olfactories containing ten editions: Purple Rain, Nue au Soleil, Tainted Love, Un Chant d’Amour, Cargo de Nuit, Heat Wave, Day for Night, Double Dare, Pink Flamingos and Marienbad. The creations are signed by perfumer Daniela (Roche) Andrier who said that that the scents are all intended to be “potent concoctions of the unexpected, provoking the cinematic experience of a partially remembered dream… It’s a strong vision that is far from cliché. They’re very different from what you’ll find on the market. They’re not done studying the trends of the market and create a bestseller; they are done out of the spirit of Prada.”
The fragrances are supposedly not done studying the trends of the market, but in keeping with the spirit of the house Prada. Each bottle contains a silk purse from Prada materials.
Day for Night is a rich scent of amber with leather.
Available as 100 ml Eau de Parfum for $300.

Sweet bitter amber.
It has caramel, amber, milk, leather, & some kind of spice. I believe i can detect some kind of oud in here (European style oud) within a sweet amber mix. Later i can detect some honey and a slight syrup.
The amber is an exciting material that honey, & vanilla goes quite well with and this one in here has that good mix of milk, honey, and syrup mixed with amber.
15 minutes in, i started to detect cumin, and slight cinnamon, as the sweetness, the honey, & syrup almost gone and partially stayed at the background. Its nice blend with sweet & spices notes.

This is a semitransparent oriental amber perfume, specifically a hyper polished sweet leathery amber scent. I can feel benzoin, a few micro powders and a bit of chocolaty patch on a perfect bed of musks and soft wood. Very classy and beautiful, discrete but long lasting.

Very nice opening with amber and maybe leather. It lasted at least 10 hours when it was still detectable close to the skin. It was a nice amber fragrance for me, but nothing too exciting, especially at higher price point.

This is a warm, balmy smooth leather with slightly sweet amber hiding in there. I was surprised because normally leather notes sour on me, but this one stayed constant and turned just the tiniest bit powdery near the end. Someone else mentioned that they caught a hint of chocolate in there, and I can definitely agree, although it’s really hard to catch. It’s there and then it isn’t.

I sniffed each of the new Olfactories scents straight from the bottle yesterday at a Prada boutique, but this was the one I decided to spray on. I found it very light and evasive with a faint creamy chocolate note. Not a rich dark chocolate but a sweet light chocolate, almost like soft serve ice cream. I can’t really say much more about it. This whole line is confusing to me, most are so faint, watery and non-existent. I’ll reserve judgment until I give each a fair shot, but for now I’m in no rush to really delve much deeper into the Olfactories line. A pass for now.

It’s like a toned down Dior’s Leather Oud with a touch of sweet amber; one of the only 2 worthwhile from this line
