A nicely blended old meets new masculine chypre. However also completely redundant given there are better ones of this kind like Antaeus on the market for a quarter of the price or less. The perfume opens in typical chypre style with citrus aromatic notes of bergamot, lemon, cumin, tarragon and lavender. The brief heart is floral with notes of jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and violet. The perfume settles into a musky woody powdery base of cedar, cloves, galbanum, oakmoss, patchouli, rhubarb, vetiver, ambergris, castoreum, leather, synthetic musk, tonka bean and vanilla. This is a nicely blended masculine leaning perfume with moderate sillage and good longevity. However not particularly innovative enough to warrant an FB purchase given the premium pricing. Interesting but overpriced for what it offers. Enjoy!

Heritage is a fraction of what Danger is. Danger has incredible depth and development, it morphs into new fragrances during this development, where Heritage gradually dissipates when it settles into its patchouli, sandalwood, lavender heart.

Yes!! I just got my first bottle of Roja Dove and I love it but the problem I have is that now the bar is set pretty high. After enjoying Danger and the quality of it composition I feel that my other perfumes are not in the same league. Once you start smelling the real real good stuff maybe there is no coming back!!! if you know what I mean.

Scent – vanilla woody lavender musk.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 24hrs consistently.

I have a rather large collection of perfumes. Roja Danger Pour Homme is the crowning glory.
Incredible quality and so nuanced. I love it.

The differences between this and Heritage appear in the dry down. This goes more sweet & floral woods, whereas Heritage goes into the spicy vanilla territory. I think I prefer the Heritage dry down but this is quite lovely, also.
Definitely not worth the cost, though. It’s apparent that Roja loves to dip into Guerlain’s collection for influence a little too frequently.

Reminds me of a lighter version of Orchid Noir by Note Fragrances.

Boy oh boy!!! What great quality juice and well blended the scent itself is very good but not that original what’s stands out to me is the quality, at these prices it better be excellent. Longevity and projection is Top notch.

I actually found this pretty similar to Fetish, but even more Fougare based and even less sweet on the Opening.
    Mehh
The Quality on these Roja’s are second to none however; those who love Classic scents will really dig this of course – it’s all in here from the classic cumin, lavender, tarragon to the cedar, vetiver, rhubarb twist and leather later on
but I need something much sweeter and aphrodisiac, sorry
    My rating: 4/10
    Quality: 9/10

    (parfum concentration)
This stuff has grown on me. Usually I either like a scent enough to buy it from the get-go or I don’t. With Danger Pour Homme (parfum concentration) it seems the more I smell it the more I like it.
Probably has the softest quality I’ve smelled in a fragrance but it’s not powdery (and I hate powdery in a fragrance). This stuff is to my sense of smell what the finest merino wool is to my skin – SOFT 🙂
Wish the fleeting, spicy cumin lasted a bit loger. I do get a fleeting, tart rhubarb as well. After that I’m not entirely sure but it seems to have some florals maybe.
I don’t know what Guerlain Heritage is like. But I do know that the sheer quality & smell of Roja Danger brings me joy. Matter of fact – some days Danger comes close to de-throning Roja Parfums Vetiver (black cap) as my all-time favorite fragrance.

Please listen. I do not know about vintage heritage edp, but I did blind buy the new Heritage edp in the hopes it will get the job done. The vintage may be stronger and longer lasting, but the general scent character is probably very very similar to new version. BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS.
If you are thinking about getting a replacement for Roja Danger Parfum, there is none. I am warning you…you will be throroughly dissapounted if you hope that any heritage can match Roja quality. Danger parfum is soooo worth it IMO.
Heritage and Danger might share some vague scent characteristic, but if I were to describe it, even if they are in the same family, one is the little cousin and the other is the affluent uncle. Which do you want to be.

How could i compare Danger to Heritage or even worse,to Zino Davidoff??? That’s crazy even for those who can’t stand Roja.Let me say it out loud,i’m taking the risks to upset some people: Why don’t we admit that we can’t afford to pay? That we don’t like it because it is expensive! I am not a rich girl, but all i had from Roja i treasured because i know it’s the real deal.I have a small sample of Danger and i am yelling out loud that is like nothing i’ve smelled and i’ve had my fair share of perfumes and tested a lot more.Nobody asks for anyone to buy,but i need some truth and some reality facing, cause what Roja creates is good and natural even if we don’t like it.The man said himself that he pays a great amount on quality ingredients and that’s why he cannot sell cheap.I repeat,i like no more than 5 fragrances from his lines, but i know how to see and how to admit that what he creates is really great.Again i’m sorry for saying all i did but it got to me! Danger is sensual, the damn ambergris crawls under your skin, doesn’t stink, doesn’t break my olfactive senses, doesn’t scream like a nuclear bomb.It is smooth like the best hermes birkin bag and makes the one who wears it feel amazing.Thank you!

This perfume differs from Heritage in several ways. The most striking difference is the body odor component it mimics, with a slight balancing act between this and the fresher “fougere” notes of the perfume. As far as similarities go, one might say the sharp/sweet opening/drydown of Heritage is present, but in the case of Danger, it is suspended in a cloud of softness and transparency we can probably attribute to a symphony of natural ingredients, against which the dominant themes stand, and which form the signature complexity of all the Roja Dove perfume releases. Danger is called “Danger” clearly because of its sexual element, the ever present but artfully balanced reproductive element we are paying for when we purchase this perfume.

Plenty of attar oils on and around ebay that cost pennys and smell the same if not better.I have this and i also sourced out 3 different copys/similar to danger oils from ebay in my opinion the oils are far more superior made with the same ingredients but 100% concentrated.

why on earth somebody needs to have another Heritage Guerlain or Zino Davidoff with a ridiculously high price tag? to show off i guess or having some very easy money. I mentioned the above two only for reference to the genre but fact is they are far superior than this especially Heritage.
Danger pour homme is a run of the mill woody spicy formula fragrance of late 80s , it has never ending , never rounded patchouli note which makes it more dated and uninteresting.
Its merely hype, YouTube videos and Harrods shelves.
Note: I do not want balloons btw , hit em hard.

I am wearing Danger pour Homme EDP again today and really love it for its fresh spicy, aromatic, woody and animalic scent with hints of floral and powdery touches. The Ambergris note is particularly beautiful from the very beginning till the deep dry down and that ties all the other notes together to create a beautifully harmonious scent. It does remind me of Guerlain Heritage EDP but much richer and deeper, probably with the help of the Ambergris. To me, Guerlain Heritage EDP is an excellent fragrance and I think there is no reason to say that Danger pour Homme is boring or inferior to Heritage as it really is not.
On my cooler than average skin, most fragrances do not have much projection and usually only those so call power bomb ones would have moderate sillage. However, Danger pour Homme, which is not really a power bomb, actually has quite heavy projection on my skin and it lasts well over 10 hours before turning to a skin scent.
I paid around US$230 for my bottle on sale a few years back when it came in a 100ml size. It was only slightly more expensive than a 50ml bottle of Tom Ford Private Blend fragrance then and I would say it worth every penny of it.

    a beautiful masculine gem

    3 out of 5

This is my first Roja Dove fragrance on skin, Danger Pour Homme (the EDP, not the parfum), and it’s decidedly masculine, a mix of predominantly woods and leather, with a slightly smoky, boozy, and citrus aspect. The opening is brighter due to bergamot and lavender but it settles rather quickly into its masculine character. The name seems unfitting, as it’s a relatively safe masculine fragrance, and while there’s nothing overwhelmingly special about it, Danger could actually work very well as a man’s signature scent.
Performance (again, on the EDP) is decent but not exceptional. Much better in terms of longevity than projection, at least on my skin, though I’m sure once could go the parfum route to achieve a scent cloud.
Danger does not seem all that unique enough to me to merit the Roja Dove costs (the EDP is $325 for 50ml, the parfum is $480 for 50ml), exceeded only by Clive Christian, with the exception of Chanel extraits and other high-concentration special items.
I’ve not tried Heritage by Guerlain, but the similarities sound strong. I’d recommend trying to find something similar in lieu of the Roja Dove price on this, as it’s simply not unique enough to merit the cost.

Just to address the review below. I have several samples of Danger pour homme and actually tried Guerlain Heritage again today just to see how similar they are, and indeed they do share a distinctly similar character. However, Roja perfumes Danger is far far superior in terms of smell, the Guerlain is deep but simply doesn’t have the depth or the magic of danger. It has less of the earthy patch and mossy dry down and more balance on the whole, with sweeter more refined top notes. The draw back is indeed the price, it’s very expensive but that would almost be forgivable because it is lovely stuff but the performance is extremely poor and that’s unforgivable really. In that case I can understand why Heritage would be a viable replacement for this but I think it’s slightly unfair to suggest that Danger is an inferior copy.

Save your money!! Go and get Guerlain Heritage (Vintage gold cap) edt or edp (gold cap) and throw some cocoa butter lotion on. There I saved you $325….I will send you my paypal address for a donation 😉
Sorry this line is a joke as far as the pricing and very much copies of many classics. If you want to pay for a fancy presentation and a bejeweled cap then go ahead.

Well theres always gotta be someone to ruin everyones fun right? Guess that will be me here..
Dunno whats dangerous about this at all. Its a extremely classic, sorta smell. Its also very old smelling.
Honestly smelling this is just reminds me of being a kid, and thinking to yourself about how much smelly stuff your dad, or uncles are wearing with their aftershave. Thats all that comes to mind when I smell this, that sorta aftershave, shaving lotion, barbarshop whatever you want to call it.
Very dull, boring, and old smelling to me. Certainly its not a bad smell, but I cant help but think of 2 friends growing up, one became rich, one has a more modest job, they go to their high school reunion, they meet some old girl friends.. The girls comment they like the aftershave, or fragrance they are wearing. The rich dude is slightly insulted that they smell the same and the girls cant tell the difference. But he paid $400 for his and his bottle looks neat, so hes still legit in his own way.
Yep totally lost on the pauper that is me lol

I’ve got mixed feelings on this one. Mixed because apparently it smells different to me than it does to those around me. Rather than identifying the notes, I’ll just describe how the scent evolved on me as I smelled it. Starts with a rather strong savory spice scent, but salty and pungent. In about 15 minutes, the floral starts to come through though that salty scent remains. An hour in is when I can start smelling the rose, but again, that salty scent just won’t go away. The floral scent becomes a bit more well-rounded in as time goes on, but the sillage seems to decrease exponentially. At 90 minutes I can smell a bit of the spices and even vetiver, but regardless of what notes make their presence known, the entire fragrance seems overshadowed by this overwhelming smell of seawater even until the last trace of scent has evaporated. I’ve actually tried this fragrance on several different occasions, the result remained the same. With that being said, what is interesting (or confusing) is that while I smell a strong seawater scent on my skin (along with other complex nots), from a distance I can smell a lot of floral. Those around me claimed that when I walk by, I smell smokey with a hint of spice. So, I have no idea how the fragrance really actually smell on me, it seems that the scent changes depending on how far one is from the source of the spray. Definitely a complex fragrance, although since I smell a lot of saltwater when I sniff my skin, I may want to give it a pass, no matter how good others claim it smells on me.

Danger is my third favorite of the Roja Dove line. Can’t go wrong with this scent. Not a earth shattering scent but it’s a well crafted potion for Roja’s collection. This scent has the same barbershop vibe as invasion barbar and 1725 casanova from Histoires de Parfum. In my previous reviews on invasion barbar I mentioned that it was a bit too harsh….well…. Roja must have been listening because he*s perfected it with this stuff.
This scent begins with a powdery lavendar and cumin notes which is quickly rescued by a hint of citrus lemon and bergamot. In the background there is a little faint dirty/sweet combo of castoreum and tarragon a similar revisit from Roja’s “fetish” fragrance. After awhile it drys down to a simple powdery, vanilla and lavender scent but still maintaining that barbershop caption. The powder in this makes you think shaving cream. Its very fresh, very clean with a little bit of dirty, smoothed out by sweetness. To be honest, this will smell very common to most people that smell it on you. I don’t think the wearers audience will find this scent very original except to you as the wearer. This is more of a treat to the wearer but a just a well blended, common smelling juice to the people who smell it on you.
My advice to the wearer of this scent is to make it an all day scent when you’re on the go and don’t have time to freshen up. You can wear this anytime for day. A year round fragrance. An active guy ages 21-50 can pull his off well. Not sure I’d wear this on an night out.
*Projection 9/10 good silage people will smell you in the room
*Longevtiy 10/10 always there but really begins soften a bit but you will still smell it the next day 10 + hours
    *All day scent
*Anytime of year cold or cool summer day. Be a little too heavy for really hot days I think

A boring masculine with no particular twists. The quality is *probably* there but, at these prices, it’s not enough. More “stereotyped” than “classic”.
As *dangerous* as a knitting club.

I have to admit just from the note breakdown on here, had I looked at it beforehand I don’t think I’d have been so keen to try this fragrance.
The animalic qualities are not usually my favourite thing unless handled correctly and oh how they are in this fragrance.
Just to note also that I’m not crazy about Roja Dove as a brand, the opulence and exclusivity (price basically!) detracts and makes people (me included) a little hostile towards the brand before I even begin.
I think… yeah yeah the bottles are pretty nice but I bet those Swarovski crystals fall off the stopper and things like that.
I have to admit having tried 5 Roja Dove fragrances they have all been superb! Really stunning! I can’t get past that and so many people bashing them must be smelling something different to what I am?
They are trans formative creations all be mildly derivative of other scents you may have smelled before but in my opinion elevated to a higher level. Please don’t get me wrong, it kinda pains me to say it but I love Roja perfumes so far!
So Danger specifically is a creamy, warm oriental fragrance which to me is not dangerous but inviting and welcoming almost beckoning you in. I’m not sure if it Roja’s disclosure of his favourite ingredient Labdanum which has me so smitten for his creations?
Super complex juice this opening with citrus fruits, rhubarb and warmer tones of spices. The main body is a tonka vanilla/amber, clove, subdued animal tones leather of oakmoss and castoreum.
Forget the price… this fragrance is wonderful and even more complex than I’ve mentioned here, performance and sillage are good.
I can’t wait to try this again.

A classical scent that has modern notes.
A sharp and sophisticaded interplay between masculinity and refinement: ambergris, woods and, above all, castoreum underline a strong character, bergamot and some flowers reveal the inner empathy. The drydown is warm and woody with a touch of patchouli and some spices. Remains versatile during all the time.
The sillage is strong on my skin.
    Elegant and classy!

EN. This is a general review for all 7 men’s fragrances by Dove Roja, which I received from his boutique in Harrods (London) as 2ml pure perfume samples. Well, what can I say about… I’m sorry I wasted $210 just to satisfy my curiosity.
    So, in order of things:
1 First of all, the most famous and most publicized Dove Roja’s perfume – Diaghilev doesn’t smell like, Mitsouko, or like a mixture any the other Guerlain’s fragrances, as can often be found in the various review here, however, in its initial notes it slightly reminiscences the opening of Vol de Nuit (pure perfume edition), Diaghilev, as to me, is weaker and with some strange bitterness, which fortunately disappears after about an hour. Well, in general is not bad, but I would not wear it, as I would not wear the other 5 of 7 men’s fragrances from Roja that I have received, the exception would be Roja’s Scandal pour homme.
2 Nüwa, as I expected from the list of ingredients, smells hard of cumin and frankly is just unbearable. It ‘a kind of suffocating stench of sweaty men in a concentrated mixture of almonds.
3 Fetish and Reckless are good anyway, but then, as often happens with Roja’s perfume, Fetish to me smells like a twin of Interlude Man by Amouage, while Interlude doesn’t cost $600, but much less. I mean that Fetish and Reckless are good and high quality perfumes, but, I would say, that they are a pure example of what does “too much” means. I believe, that this is the reason why wealthy Russian consumers love them, because they have to show off the money.
    4. About Enigma and Danger I wouldn’t even talk – they are just 2 boring woody fragrances.
If I need to describe in one sentence the style of perfumes by Roja I would call the Rococo genre: they are very intense, everything is always created in strict accordance with the laws of luxury perfumery, every detail is taken into consideration, but it’s too much, it’s not in the right place and in general you wasted your money just for the name and authority of Dove Roja. However, if one day, despite this review, someone would decide to give me a perfume by Roja, I would certainly prefer Scandal by Roja. This one, at least, is the most original and, at the same time, more stable perfume of the whole male line. Diaghilev, for example, in its new configuration evaporates too soon.
While I was writing this review, all 7 fragrances are arrived to their olfactory pyramid base and I decided to add in the conclusion that all of them, except Scandal have completed their transformation to a very regular woody note, as happens to the most men’s fragrances that cost from $50 to $90 for a bottle of 100 ml. Therefore, I hope that the time you find to read this my review was spent much useful than mine, wasted to discover Dove Roja’s perfumery art.

IT.
    Quindi, in ordine:

I don’t care what anyone says, this man uses his name and pedigree to command sky high prices. Sure, Roja DOES introduce high quality materials into his fragrances but I have found that his Homme line is very reminiscent of other fragrances. Find yourself a sample of vintage Heritage by Guerlain and you basically have the same feel. Yes, quality and other aspects get factored into the equation, but the average nose won’t tell a difference. Do yourself a favor, skip this one and find yourself some vintage Heritage.

What Roja Dove touches usually turns to gold. This fragrance opens with a burst of a musky citrus (bergamot & lemon) grounded by a smooth and sweet vanilla and tonka bean. There are so many notes hitting your olfactory system that it is very difficult to pinpoint which note is the most prominent. Layered and well balanced. The Vetiver is dry and earthy, a total opposite of Sycamore or Molecule 03. The cumin, which often limits a fragrance’s versatility, is perfected and used moderately (more noticeable on the top.) This fragrance is incredibly masculine and rich. I own this and three others in the EDP concentration and 2 Extraits and I must say longevity and projection is outstanding with all of them. I couldn’t ask for better performance from a fragrance. Highly recommended. Can easily be worn throughout any time of the year.

EDIT: I discovered that my sample was from the pure parfum concentration. This puzzles me, since i don’t get anything like Amouage Gold Man or something very animalic. On me is, like i say bellow, a good Oriental Fougere.
I don’t know how this one is on the pure parfum concentration, but on the EDP one it smells to me more like an oriental fougere than an oriental fragrance. I cannot detect the leather or amber to noticeable; instead, i get a good dose of a classic combination of lavender, spices (with the clove the most noticeable on my skin), herbs, woods and some coumarinic/vanillic touch. It smells true to the good fougere orientals and it makes me think, while not being equal, to Opium Pour Homme and the recent Houbigant Fougere Imperiale. I’m sure that Roja Dove uses excellent materials in his compositions, but the Fougere family is one that for me i don’t see such a deep difference between something more affordable and something expensive like this that would justify the price and purchase

smells like they took Amouage Gold Man and said “let’s try to make this not smell terrible.” and they did a great job, replacing the animalistic element of civet with castoreum, ambergris, and leather. they also tone down the feminine florals to an acceptable level. this to me seems like the best modern take on a classic men’s fragrance. Which does put in more on the mature side for me. And while it lasted all day, the projection was practically none existent on me. luckily there is plenty left in the sample for more wearings to really test it out

It all comes down to this: Are you fond of diamonds or cubic zirconias? What are you willing to pay? 1725 Casanova is a cheaper option which smells eerily similar to Danger pour homme in terms of its bright floral nature. Roja Dove not shy on ingredients, brings the house with more notes than Mr.T have necklaces. Far from the average “chick magnet” fragrance, this is a conversational piece and dare I say an event on its own. Danger has a complexity that I can only compare to a kaleidoscope. Led by an array of feminine florals, this fragrance manages to never get in its own way. Overall, this is a light airy fragrance with massive sillage and longevity. I found this to be perfectly unisex. I rank this as the 2nd best fragrance I tried for the month of December……and I’ve tried A LOT……..

I have the Pure Parfum not the EdP and I’m not a fan of some Roja Dove’s parfums (Aoud in ex.).
But Danger Homme Parfum are tons of salty, musky, sweet NATURAL Ambregris (yes, natural ambregris) perfectly balanced with other tons of the best Haiti Vetiver. This wonder opens with the light of bergamot and warmed by soft woods and mountain flowers. A touch of rare natural Grasse-Jasmin gives a subdued suede tone.
In this concentration and thanks to ambregris the sillage and longevity are huge.
