Not complex but really nice.
Smells like an apple based cognac, masculine but a little, just a little, sweet. It’s on the same vein as Bentley for men, but less leathery and, in my opinion, more wereable.
It’s not for a teenager for sure, it would be like when you were a child and wore your daddy’s shoes ;P
Seriously, it’s a mature scent, not for the club, not for attracting girls, it’s what I think would wear a confident 30+ years old who knows who he is.
And he is an apple based cognac smelling man.

I´ve received this one today. It was a blind buy. I was curious to smell this fragrance because of the reviews here. It is, actually, very similar to Baldessarini Ambre. And i´m happy with that, because i like very much B. Ambre. Ande the bottle?? Is gorgeous and very heavy. One of those fragrances that looks great on the shelves of perfume lovers!

Custom Alfred Dunhill for men is a really grate great one from Alfred Dunhill , one of the best red apples Scents I smelled.
Smell : 9/10.
Longevity : 8 hours.
Projection : almost 10 hours.

What a beauty! Dunhill Custom may have one of the nicest presentations of any fragrance I own. The bottle is heavy and well designed, it looks like a piece of fine crystal. The rich amber colored juice simply looks divine. Then you spray it. If I hadn’t read these reviews prior to smelling this it might have been one of the biggest disappointments in fragrance history. As it was, I wasn’t expecting much and that’s exactly what I received, not much depth, not much length, not much reach. It’s pretty enough, just hollow.This is one fragrance where a reformulation would be embraced by the community!

I think its a nice scent.. A darkish apple pie kind of smell.. Pretty good to me! Its not niche quality but who would expect it to be? Its a good designer banger that has a nice scent to it.. Performance is eh.. could be a little better.

Totally agree with satyajeed, this fragrance is a disaster, sticky, sweet mess with bad performance and an über synthetic cheap vibe. I fell for the marketing, the nice glass bottle and the fancy name. This juice is a shame for this house and a disgrace on the fragrance market. I rarely do completely negative reviews but this one deserves it!

Ahhh Dunhill Custom…where should I start first?
This is class in a bottle. I can really detect the apple + black pepper combination here. You better wear your suit and dress properly when pull out this gem because this is not t-shirt + jeans fragrance thing.
I find this is better wear in cold night rather than sunny daytime since I live in Malaysia where the climate is hot and humid all year long since we don’t have winter day coming.
Nice sturdy bottle but not versatile fragrance to wear, though.

To me this is Gucci Pour Homme 1 with with some things subtracted (it’s more two-dimensional than GPH1 and doesn’t possess the ambery/syrupy quality), apple added, and weakened. It’s certainly an “office friendly” scent that has a little bit of something interesting in there. However, if you like scents such as GPH1 and wouldn’t want something similar but weaker, then I’m not sure you’d be happy with this one.

Rather, in harmony with the look and dressing.

Not too great but not bad either. A good change fragrance in your collection. The apple and incense is a good change up combination and is _different_ , which is what I was looking for.
Longevity/ Sillage – all average or just above. Spray hard for it to last – 10-12 sprays.

Made a blind purchase of this one. Unfortunately nothing special here, at all. Just a funky and juvenile apple note here accompanied by a little coziness(due to incense) and a very cheap smelling black pepper note.
SORRY Custom fans but this is something that I would never even suggest to someone who is stepping up from their AXE fragrances into the designer fragrance game and are looking for something that brings with it more quality and impression than AXE fragrances, that’s how underwhelming I have found this one to be.
Dunhill can do and in fact HAS done much better in the past e.g. Pursuit, Desire Red etc.

This smells great and seems more complex than the profile, unfortunately it doesn’t last long at all! Unlike every other Dunhill cologne I have, this one seems to just get absorbed or fade away in 30 minutes or less! I really wanted to like this but it has horrible silage and longevity.

I wont be repurchasing it due to its poor performance in the longevity and projection departments.
This makes me really sad because if it excelled in those areas it would be a permanent in my collection.
I hope one day Dunhill sees our complaints and fixes this fragrance.

My go to scent for evening wear since receiving this. A really nice inoffensive scent. I would say it leans towards being more formal/evening wear and remains quite classy throughout.
In the opening you get fresh apple, it then turns slightly spicy in the middle. The base is smooth, warm and slightly boozy. I love it, but the projection is on the weak side. Although a little weak, it smells amazing to me. My signature evening scent.

Alfred dunhill custom is a very potent creation is it’s own right. The most dominant notes to my skin are the peppers and the incense making this scent very spicy and warm. The apple brings some youthful vibe with a little sweetness and the cedar just rouds things out and adds some freshness!
It’s all good and happy until you realize that it lasts for a maximum of 2 hours. Very bad longevity (maybe it’s just me) and not enough projection keep this fragrance from shining and keeps you from exploring all it’s depth!
Such a shame, I really love the smell, the bottle and the packaging, but the longevity just kills everything!
I still wear it from time to time, and recommend it if you don’t mind respraying from time to time! 🙂

My appologies to the serious connoisseurs out there.
I mean that in a really good way….something in there creates a Carmelised, sweet, almondy accord which to me is lovely.
As it matures on the skin a little it gets less sweet and the pepper comes into play…wood and incense give it a warming effect definitely one for the winter months.
I’ve liked all the Dunhill fragrances I’ve tried and this one is no exception shame they’re hard to track down unless you blind buy.

Beautiful colour combined with very attractive bottle that refracts light in a pleasing way. Old Victorian logo of Alfred Dunhill on the base is a very nice touch. Interesting powerful apple/orchard top note and reasonable longevity with “pleasing” sustained aroma …but very feminine. I like to smell and look at it but I won’t wear it.
To me it is just another mass market clone alleged “personality” aroma with middle/upper A/B positioning & (I imagine as i haven’t seen it) an artistic ad campaign just like all the other brand / loyalty exercises masquerading as fragrance.

trust me on this one y’all.It is nothing.It is like you have crushed some apples with some pepper(very less pepper) and add some water put this shit in some blender.It disappears from my skin in 4 mins with 10 sprays at variety of temperatures – 5Degrees , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30 degree celcius.
It was a waste of my money.I wish i wouldnot have bought this.My mistake happened because i got attracted to the colour of this scent – brown.I always feel that a brownish color scent will be sexier.Further i liked the bottle too much , so heavy , stylish.
It is just the juice which is good for nothing.
Also why the f*** i would like to imprint my name on the customized cap ?? what will i get from that ? ego boost ??

The apple notes are what seem to persist with this one, giving it perhaps too much of a feminine drydown for my taste. I have a sample and am grappling with the decision to buy a full bottle.
While this is no sillage monster, this cologne lingers on my skin for a shockingly long time. Going on 22+ hours, and the sample is still faintly present on the top of my hand after a long, sweaty run at the gym. The apple is definitely still there.
I will have to revisit this one later…quality for sure.

Nothing special in this fragrance,common scent,just as many men’s colognes flooding markets these days. Apple and pepper with some smoky notes, sillage are weak enough to be noticed no more than 5 min, longevity is average, about 5 hours close to skin.
I own this fragrance as a gift, not because of my choice, and after 4 months still there is more than 95% juice left in the bottle,LOL……………
After all, not a bad scent, but it’s not for me

The apple freshness is nothing like in your face (like with countless others using this ingredient), its very elegantly done here as it mixes with incense. Some smiliarities to Goutals Duel detectable. Classy, stylish and customizable with your own monogrammed cap. Good one Dunhill!

Got this through the post today and it is absolutely stunning. Yes,I know Dunhill have churned out some rubbish over the last couple of years but the two Harrods exclusives have been fantastic.
What with Loewe 7 and now this i have had a good run of receiving new scents over the last couple of weeks that I love.
First of all the bottle is beautiful. Simple,masculine and with a nod towards heritage rather than fashion.
The apple note in the opening is not sweet but rather like an English Cox’s which has a slightly sour yet fresh smell. When the pepper note comes into play it is soft as are all the notes in the fragrance. Everything is understated about this scent and would be impossible to over spray. It certainly isn’t a sillage monster but in my opinion that is not necessarily a bad thing sometimes.
I can’t think of another fragrance that this reminds me of. I do not personally get the baldessarini ambre reference as that opens up very boozy in my opinion.
After about 30 minutes the cedar note is there underneath the pepper to add strength to the scent. It is quite a sweet cedar note which is quite refreshing as normally you seem to get a lazy iso e super base.
I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE. I can’t believe I am saying that about a Dunhill fragrance but it is true.

Tried it in IBN BATOOTA Mall yesterday, simply mind blowing smell. After an hour of testing some whirl of smell passes by me time to time and I wonder from where its coming… then I remember I have sprayed it on my hand and look, I unintentionally bring my hand near to my nostril just to have a sniff like an addicted person need his drugs and it continued happening till the next morning when the smell vanished off my hand.

I don’t see why custom wouldn’t in the parallel level as previous ones.
