According to the reviews, I’m convinced this smells like One Million. Maybe not 100% but close enough. However, does it have the same monster projection as 1M?

I have to say for the $7.99 price tag I picked this up for today at Ross. I am very happy with it. I have a 200ml Of One Million it is one of my favorite frag. This Cuba CR is so close that i can’t tell them apart. I have One Million on one hand and Cube on the other. they are so close it is crazy. I will be using this Cuba CR along with my Bottle of one million. The one thing you need to keep in mind, if you don’t like one million you will not like this. IMHO for the price I paid this is a no brainier… if you like one million, Pick it up if you find it for under $10 and you will just as happy as I am.

A lot of people say it reminds then of 1 million. I don’t have 1 million so I can’t speak on that. Heavy Vanilla after dry down with a bit of spice and tobacco. A steal at the $10-$15 price for 3.3 oz on Amazon. Look, I love vanilla based cologne in general. As such, at this price point and with the awesome vanilla scent, this is a winner that will be in my everyday rotation. I’ll save Le Male, Eros, and Black Vanilla Absolute for date night.
I don’t have the nose to tell you any other notes besides vanilla, tobacco, and spice. I do think that this combined with Voyage would make an excellent start to a modern cologne collection. Both are inexpensive, different from each other, and smell great. This is probably a night/fall/winter cologne but I fully admit I ignore all that mess and just wear what I want and what I want to smell like, time of day and season completely ignored. I’m hopeless. Lol.
As a newbie to cologne, I’d give this a solid 8.5. It really is quite nice. But take that with a bit of skepticism since, you know, what do I really know anyways? Worth picking up and trying for the price.
To paligap: I noticed this too! I bought the large size Royal new from Amazon and there seemed to be an awful lot of air in there. Same with the 4 sample pack with gold, blue, red, and orange I bought new at Ross. They were the smaller 1.7 is size but seemed to have a lot of air in there. Maybe just the way it’s packaged? Hard to say if they are full (oz-wise) without actually taking it all out and measuring. As is, I paid @$8-$10 for each so not a deal breaker but disconcerting nonetheless.

It is similar to 1 Million, but not as sweet and smooth as 1 Million.
I exchanged Cuba Royal and Cuba Prestige (both Royal & Prestige bottles purchased from Ross for another set of bottles), because both bottles were only 85% full. The exchanges were also only 85% full (from sealed outer containers).
Anyone else experience this with any of the Cuba Paris scents?

Its too strong and old parfym, bye (Cube prestige) not Royal.

well if this was out before 1 million then i am proud to own it.i have tried 1 million and do recall it was loud as hell and the vanilla was so heavy it intimidated me.super candy colognes.

I have a decant of 1 Million and it smells just like it. But the Royal is so weak in projection. It lacks the “oomph” power. I paid $10 so it’s not that bad. I will likely buy a 1 million and layer it with this on top.

Cheap fun. A decent clone of 1 Million but you get what you pay for. A bit synthetic, especially in the opening, but that’s not unusual for fragrances in this price range. This is an enjoyable and well done fresh gourmand. Lots of vanilla and I’m guessing that’s the Iso E cedar and frankincense give it the fresh note. Love the bottle and the metal cigar holder lol.

Classic scent, been wearing this since 2006. Not a fan of 1 million, this has a better smell to me. The dry down is that wonderful effect of fresh, fruity and spicy.

    This is an amazing fragrance.
Paco Rabanne did a great job developing a scent similar to Cuba Royal two years later.
Ok… I spray twice with CR where I spray once with 1M.
It is still 1/5 of the price instead of 1/10.
    Happy savings

Cuba Royal – released in 2006
    1 Million – released in 2008
So who cloned who? Do not talk when you’re uninformed!

Love this fragrance!! Very cheap but should actually be more expensive. Longevity isn’t the best but no big deal considering the cost! Definitely a “club” frag or even just a night out at a fun spot!

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Well this is just an interesting scent. Here are some of the aforementioned comparisons that I agree with:
    -grape soda
    -orangy Cuba Gold
    -a bag of skittles
    -soapy bubblegum
    -1000 or more rapper douchebags
    wait…what was that last one?…
To summarize, IMO the notes on the Fragluxe website are 100% accurate. In their super synthetic forms, I absolutely get (cheap) leather, blood orange, mint, grapefruit, rose and patchouli. And yeah, although there is no tobacco listed, the whole thing kind of smells like orange candy bubblegum, with a minty-tobacco vibe.
At least, that’s what I get for the first 15 minutes. As this stuff dries down, that candy-ness starts to dwindle, and a musty mint-rose-patchouli combo becomes more prominent. The mint is very similar to one used in Cuba Gold. Overall, it never really loses that fake minty orange on top, which is probably where the 1 Million/bubblegum comparisons come in.
And that’s how it remains to the end. I dunno, I find it pleasant enough, but the quality just isn’t there. For this price I would definitely recommend Cuba Gold or Prestige over this one, since the performance is generally better on those two, with Prestige boasting a gourmand (A*Men) touch. Mmmmm salty caramel….
But for the price, why not just pick up all 3?? That’s what I did, and it was STILL only like $20. Snap.
As for compliments…my gf asked me if my Cuba Gold went bad…ouch. Harsh, but fair. So let’s give this baby a little more time before we make any judgements.
    Scent – 6/10
    Longevity – 6/10
    Projection – 4/10
Overall – 5/10 – no complaints for the price

Synthetic sweet, with low longevity and projection. To me,it does not smell like tobacco,it is more like bubble gum. It reminds me of one million. for this price, i can not say it is bad. it is just not what i would like to smell in a man.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

Not my sort of thing really, but here goes… Granting that the construction (especially topnotes) smells very synthetic, the pyramid pictured above is still not all that accurate. This opens with a lightweight, artificial-smelling blend of citrus and flowers over a a warm, spicy accord of ‘tobacco’, boozy rum and sugary vanilla…This projects briefly (maybe 45 min?), shifting into a caramelized toasted marshmallow accord like the one in Maison Margiela’s By the Fireplace, before heading for a drydown that, as others have said, is its best feature. A cool, creamy (almost lipstick-like) orange blossom and tonka combo hovers over a soft supple lactonic kid glove accord, with the sweet amber and smooth cedar (not ISO) gradually melting into it. This gets a bit too creamy-sweet for my personal tastes, but fans of the kinds of musks one hits like a wall upon entering Sephora (not a bad thing if you like Dior Homme, or Valentino, Uomo, for instance) might enjoy it.

For $10 it’s worth getting. Smells just like Pacco Reban 1million.
Have to spray about 6 times to get the effect projection. Unlike one million projects at 1 spray.

  21. :

Vanilla-Tobacco-1 Million. Kind of light and doesn’t last long – but that’s actually what I was hoping for!!!
Sounds strange, right? Well, its strong suit is the dry down! The dry down lasts for a LONG time on my skin, and it’s the dry down that I was after when I purchased this. This shares the same deeper dry down that Armaf Tag Him Prestige does, only less strong and slightly more feminine due to the vanilla. Also slightly similar to the dry down of Versace The Dreamer, and there’s definitely some nice strong tobacco in this scent. My suggestion: spray slightly heavy and allow it to dry down before leaving the house.
I own One Million, One Million Intense, and a few clones, and I’ll be experimenting with using this to layer and freshen up those scents in the future. At its price, this is the One Million variant that you can leave in your car to freshen up, and the “vanilla-tobacco-1 Million” dry down is awesome!
For the price of $8 for a 3.4 oz bottle, you can’t really go wrong. Just don’t purchase it expecting that same monster projection and longevity that you’d usually get with One Million. The dry down, I will say, does project quite well on my skin. You’ll get a small waft of this every 5 seconds or so.
Also, as cheesy as it sounds, I really like the bottle! I can’t say I’d like having an entire collection of cigar bottles, but it looks great in person when the light hits it.

cheap and cheerful clone of 1 Million$–has Ambroxan DL and smells great in the drydown. the opening is a little cheap, sweet and flashy. not much better for the price, though–bravo for cuba.

Cuba Paris’ Cuba Royal is one of two scents I purchased at Burlington for 7.99 last night. I already sprayed it on me and am ready to give my thoughts on it based on one wearing. Let’s hope I don’t regret this later…
Anyway Cuba Royal, reminds me a little bit of Paco Rabanne 1 Million but I feel it performs like a linear predecessor to 1 Million Privé with 1 Million Cologne wearibility. There is something that gives the cinnamon that gives 1 Million scents its spice a slight smell of citruses but with a pretty good tobacco feel like with Privé to it along with the vanilla note listed in the notes breakdown as well. It really has a nice scent to it. The downside is a linear scent that is much different than what I am used to, even if it isn’t a huge one. Even most clones I buy are typical note pyramid-based scents. It threw me for a loop but I like it none the less.
The length is pretty good for a discount scent. It lasts about 1-3 hours projection wise though no where near 1 Million or even Privé level of about 3-5. I find it lasts about 3-5 hours on top of that hitting the 6/7 hours total that I also find with Privé and at times 1 Million. So I do like its longevity and performance based on this fact.
The wearability of this scent is what makes it an all-star. Unlike the 1 Million Privé flanker as well as the original 1 Million, it can be used in the day as well as in spring and even summer, similar to the 1 Million Cologne flanker even if Cuba Royal isn’t an aquatic like 1 Million Cologne is. Is it a work scent, yes actually. It is but be careful on the sprays. That said, it is entirely wearable during the daytime whether to kick it or for a day date. Is it a club scent, no but it can work for a few drinks at the bar. But it is far more relaxing than 1 Million or even Privé is, due to how strong they get.
For this I actually will rate Cuba Royal a little bit higher than Privé at about an 8.2 out of 10 due to price point and increased wearability. I honestly love this scent since it is so wearable, especially in Arizona.

    Hello everyone,
I am 29 years old male and would like to write a positive review regarding this eau.
I have bought it about 2 years ago in cosmetics store. It was heavily discounted and I paid about 7 eur for 100 ml (!). It was a blind buy and I have owned Cuba Gold before, so let us say I am a returning customer.
At first I was skeptical about this fragrance. In the beginning it is indeed a bit nauseating and even somewhat toxic. But after a few seconds the alcohol evaporates and it leaves a fresh, yet very very sweet sugary-fruity aura.
The resemblance to One Million or The secret is uncanny. In fact I think many people would have trouble telling the difference.
The funny thing is that I always get compliments from ladies when wearing this perfume. My coworkers or random ladies tell that I smell “nice” “manly” “like a man” or ask “what is this smell”.
I know that it is not “in your face” type of fragrance compared to one million, but to be honest I like it that way.
It is not my favorite parfum, not the most expensive either, but it gas grown on me especially during the evenings. And it seems both younger and older women like it a lot.
It is a mystery how 7eur parfum could be this good, according to strangers.
I recommend it. Its not great, its not fantastic, but it is something you will enjoy during colder evenings. There is a spot for this in any mans drawer.
    Overall 8.5 in cheapie category.

I’m not sure how Cuba Royal ended up in my possession. Somebody had to have given it to me.
It could not have been a friend.
This frag starts out as a stomach churning, head spinning, screechy chemical blast.
Two hours later it mellows and becomes a kind of woody / wet ashtray / melted plastic kind of scent.
I only use Cuba Royal to deodorize my outdoor garbage cans.
Some say that this scent is exactly like One Million…
though a wink is as good as a nod to a blind horse.

Purchased from Amazon for $9 for 3.3oz. Basically a less bubblegum version of 1 Million without the monstrous longevity/sillage. On me it lasts about 30 minutes and then it sits close to skin. If it was more expensive I wouldve returned it already. Smells good while it lasts.
    Scent: 7/10
    Sillage: 6/10
    Longevity: 3/10
    Value: 8/10

  27. :

I still maintain that Cuba Paris fragrances are a sort of wry commentary on the current designer offerings. Cuba Royal is like a blend of the two similar fragrances with similar packaging, One Million and The Secret. I think more people say it smells like One Million because of its popularity over The Secret- but honestly, it could be mistaken easily for either!

This fragrance is 100% Paco Rabanne 1 Million,it smells same but only last less then the original but for the price i m more then happy,,,I have 1 Million the original,Intense,Absolutely Gold and Cologne,Cuba Royal is same as the original and i love it,,,Ingridients here on this page is wrong because i don’t feel any vanilla scent or even tobacco…I have my bottles from fragrancex 5 of them,it was a good deal and i took 5 bottles,,,I have sprayed on my t-shirt 3 hours ago and still can feel strong scent but nice one (1 Million).
    Scent 10/10
    Sillage 8/10
    Longevity 7/10

  29. :

    4 out of 5

I’m a fan of the Cuba Paris fragrances, but this is just awful. It starts out like a super sweet orange blossom bomb (no tobacco whatsoever, that I can smell), which isn’t horrible. However, the drydown is perhaps the most vile thing I’ve ever smelled in a perfume – a sour pee-pee-in-your-pants musk note that smells like an outhouse that hasn’t been cleaned in months. Not trying to be funny here, the drydown literally smells like that. A hideous brew.
    My rating: 1/10

    According to Fragluxe website:
This fragrance combines blond leather and blood orange with notes of mint, grapefruit, rose, and patchouli. The result is a subtle yet masculine fragrance that’s perfect for any occasion.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

I forgot exactly what 1 Million smells like, but this is close to The Secret. The difference is that this one is more blended, but it comes across as one big accord. Still, it’s pleasant, doesn’t seem “sticky” or “synthetic,” and lasts quite a while with good projection. I have no problem wearing this one once every couple of months or so, which is usually the same for my niche and vintage scents!
UPDATE: After a full wearing I have to say that this might be the best “super cheapo” ever made, in terms of my preferences. As others have said, it’s not as candy-like as 1 Million, but has a nice tobacco note. And after half an hour or so, the candy-like quality that does exist is no issue at all. A few hours after applying I forgot what I was wearing and thought to myself that it was a niche scent! Of course up close it’s not “high quality” but from a foot or so it can compete against much more expensive scents. And it doesn’t have any “synthetic” elements to me, other than that slight candyish thing, which over time offers some contrast without being too strong.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

I’d be remiss not to echo that Cuba Royal is a fantastic clone of 1 Million (much closer than Cuba Prestige to A*Men, as Cuba Prestige is more interesting in its own right). Royal gives a fresh fougere smell without seemingly any lavender at all, but again the same tobacco/cedar combination that’s allegedly part of the original. I get more citrus and floral aspects (not listed in the note breakdown) but it still contains some aspect of cedar and woods. Overall, a fresh, remarkably cheap ($10 for 100ml on FragranceNet), though predictably short-lived and not huge projection. A great option that strikes me as most appropriate for warmer weather days—not formal, and not very cold weather-leaning but very versatile in casual application.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Cuba Royal is a superb clone of 1 Million.
It’s not as candy sweet as 1 Million; the sweetness is mellowed out and the spice is ramped up just a bit. There are no nasty, cheap ingredients that grate your nerves. Very high quality for the low price!
The bottle is such a fun novelty. It’s easy to carry around in your car/gym bag if 1 Million happens to be your signature scent and you want to “freshen” up 😉
All in all, Cuba Royal would make a great gift for a friend/loved one.
Goodluck! Cuba Royal a great buy!

Probably my favorite $10 frag. Yup the comparisons to One Million is appropriate but this seems to have a little extra spice. Not sure if its cinnamon or wood, but theres a little more kick. Im leaning towards this is a slightly more mature One Million. Slightly.
Still has a “grape soda” vibe. And performance is pretty good, bordering excellent considering the price. Idk how popular this is but Im sure if this was around in my day, it wouldve been a staple in my school bag.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

Ok guys, I caved. I really did not want to buy a cologne or perfume that was similar or even somehow resembled 1 Million. I have been avoiding it for as long as I could in my relatively short fragrance journey. I know it smells good, but I just didn’t want to smell like the 1000 and more rapper douchebags that wears it. But stumbled upon this one today in the perfume store, and just casually asked the lady how much it cost and was surprised when she told me. This must be the best fragrance one can get for that money! Next I’m going to get Prestige and Gold.

Got this one recently since it gets comapred to 1M alot, but then again seems like EVERYTHING gets compared to 1M! Anyways, this one opens up a bit synthetic, but then settles into a nice ‘mixed fruity alcoholic drink’ vibe, but it’s not too feminine either. Overall, not bad for a cheapie!
    ~8/10

  42. :

    3 out of 5

This is a very nice fragrance, a lighter version of 1 million but not a cheap knock off in my opinion. what I get is a nice summer version of 1 million it’s lighter, softer & actually really nice & for the price much nicer longevity is good silage is just right for those who think 1 million is to strong might want to give this a try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed

  43. :

    4 out of 5

Smells 95% similar to 1 Million. It’s a bit lighter. If 1 Million is too strong for your tastes get this instead.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

There actually are chemical impersonations of the listed notes present. I can also see the resemblance with paco rabanne, there is the same synthetic vibe in the opening/heart. It even reminded me of the weird chemicals in Black XS. Which is not bad, they all smell nice. For me it’s hard to put up with this kind of stuff a whole entire day, but when I smell these on others they’re all nice. That is for the top/heart notes, which last about two hours. After that, what’s left is some synthetic vanilla with something that might pass as an impersonation of frankincense – or just as well as synthetic lavender. Still not bad, but not good either. That being said, it may be the best you can do for this price.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

I dont get any of these listed notes. This listing. cannot be correct. This is with no doubt a one million replica. Smells amazing and blended to perfection. Hope the performance is good…

  46. :

    3 out of 5

The notes on here are definitely wrong. Fragluxe has the correct notes listed on its website, and this is definitely Cuba’s interpretation of 1 Million, although a much better one than its predecessor. It smells excellent, and for the price, it’s worth having in your collection. I haven’t smelled any of the other fragrances from the Cuba line, but if they are similar in price/quality ratio to Royal, than I would most likely snatch them up if the opportunity presents itself. Oh, and the longevity and sillage on this are both very good. I get at least 4-5 hours of strong projection before it settles down to more of a skin scent, but the smell lasts for around 7 or 8 hours easily for me. I will use this as my cheapo every day scent for the fall and winter when I can’t decide on what to wear for the day.

  47. :

    4 out of 5

I agree that there’s a big ‘grape soda’ vibe to this. Starts out very sweet with just a little bit of an edge from the cinnamon.
As it dries down the sweetness fades after 2-3 hours so the grape soda takes on more of a ‘dried fruits’ kind of smell. The cinnamon starts to come out more in the drydown.
If you like the port wine accord in Burberry London, this has more of that without the tobacco and woods. Sweet and dense with some spices. Highly recommended for the price.

Am I the only one who finds Cuba Royal to be cloyingly sweet and feminine? I really wanted to like this – I love several of the other Cubas that I’ve tried and found them to be of deceptively high quality for the price – but I just can’t bring myself to wear this one. The blend of tobacco, vanilla and cedar sounds like my ideal cologne, and a quick sniff of the atomizer is actually somewhat pleasant, but on skin it just smells far too feminine. I may give it a few more tries at some point, but I’m pretty disappointed.

I’ve deleted my old review after wearing Cuba Royal (CR) and One Million (1M) side by side. Make no mistake about it Cuba Royal is a clone of One Million, one that I prefer over the original.
20 minutes in: CR is reminiscent of 1M. CR feels much lighter.
Mids: almost identical. The main difference is that Cuba Royal’s midnotes begin much earlier and fade much quicker into the drydown.
Drydown: CR and 1M are brothers but each have an individual characteristic. 1M is spicy (cinnamon). CR is the sweeter brother.
For CR’s drydown I get a grape soda with vanilla infusion. Like a vanilla coke (except grape flavoured).
CR lacks in projection and longevity but I like the scent more than One Million. CR also transitions into its midnotes quicker. I find CR’s drydown to be noticeably different but I prefer it.
CR is better for casual use it’s projection isn’t over the top. It’s not as heavy as 1M so it’s more of a fall scent.
1M is $50 more for better projection and 6 more hours of longevity. I prefer CR’s sweeter vanilla based drydown. For clubbing I apply 5-6 sprays and get the same results.
    Top 5 cheapie.

*I do not have a nose that is well trained – this is my rudimentary opinion of this scent*
This is incredibly similar to 1 Million. I have worn the two side-by-side and I wasn’t able to discern any difference besides 1 Million having more projection and longevity. That doesn’t mean Royal is a slouch, I get ~5 hours of good power before it becomes closer to the skin where 1 Million will keep punching for the better part of a day.
To me, this smells like Skittles with the sweetness toned down and mixed some spiciness & tobacco. Having that as my description has me puzzled as to why I like this scent, but I really do adore it.
I got this because I liked 1 Million but I really didn’t want to pay the hefty (although justified) price tag for it especially considering how many people wear it. Royal is a tremendous bargain as you can typically find it online for ~$10 for 3.4oz bottle. Incredibly pleased with this cologne.

  56. :

    Amazing value.
I did a side by side comparison with 1 million and for the first 4 hours there really was little difference between the two.
After 4 hours, cuba royal came closer to the skin while 1 million powered on. I also asked my girlfriend to have a sniff…she preferred cuba to paco.
So if you want something that smells like 1 million without the price, give cuba royal a try.

I love this fragrance, maybe more than 1 Million!
It’s a lovely sweet smell, longevity is decent, as is projection.
For the price, there’s no reason not to have this in your collection (and Cuba Gold – similar to Le Male for that matter!).

It was awesome, just wasn’t for me. I ended up giving the whole thing to my younger brother who is just starting out on fragrances. Seeing how it is similar to 1 million, he really enjoys it and I can tell when he wears it. For the price (which is sooo cheap) its perfect for a gift or an occasional change up from your routine cologne.

This could be the best, cheapest cologne I’ve ever purchased!
It is quite a sweet, feminine smell, but it’s really nice.
Longevity on my skin is about 5 hours , after that you really have to go nose to skin. Silage decent!
You haven’t got much to lose by getting this.

well, this is a very good fragance for a very good price, i bought it few days ago and tried it today, not dissapointed at all, smells really nice and it has nice longevity and sillage as well, i wanted to try it because i like one million, and yes, it does smell so alike that only people with a very good nose can tell the difference.
Do not dislike because of the price thinking is a poor quality fragance, i owned some fragances, most of them from Carolina Herrera which are expensive, sometimes very expensive, at least in my country, and still this one has won a good place in my collection. Also happened with Cuba Gold, another nice alternative 😉

for 7 bucks u can get a mock-cigar looking spritzer of the much coveted Paco Rabanne 1 million fragrance. The poor mans 1 Million and it smells almost identical. This is perfect. Ill keep this ‘cigar’ in my car for a last minute lets go clubbing scent to wear. THE best low price bargain ever. Some may even argue they like this as much or even better than the real shtuff!

Really good scent. Perfect for the club or partying. Basically Paco Rabanne 1 Million for 1/9th the price. Save your money and just get this. Lasts 6-8 hours.

Cuba Royal is inexpensive and so pleasant. The opening is tobacco, fresh and vanilla. Then it turns into a fragrance very similar to 1 Million. The drydown is the best part and is a smooth mellow vanilla/tobacco. Staying power is OK and this is a really nice smooth perfume. Love those Cubas folks!
