Covet Sarah Jessica Parker for women of Sarah Jessica Parker

Share:

Description

After launching two successful fragrances, the Sex and the City celebrity Sarah Jessica Parker has launched a new one. After Lovely, created in 2005, a fragrance that was supposed to express the light and tender side of her character, and Lovely Liquid Satin in 2006, she is now presenting the more aggressive and desirable Covet, a fragrance that captures impish and garrulous Sarah.

SJP’s new fragrance was promoted on August 7, 2007 in NYC, at the Herald Square Macy’s, under the slogan “I had to have it!” The perfume was created by Frank Vöelkl of Firmenich in collaboration with fragrance designer and consultant Ann Gottlieb. The bottle was designed by Chad Levigne.

Covet opens with intensive spicy-green-mint note of geranium leaves, bright and luminous Sicilian lemon, lavender, and warm and slightly spicy chocolate notes. The heart notes are honeysuckle, magnolia, and lily of the valley. The base is darker, composed of cashmere wood, musk, vetiver, teak wood and amber. It comes in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, and with matching body products.

If I didn’t know Chernobyl doesn’t smell like anything, I’d think that Covet smells like Chernobyl. Just chemical and awful. Oh how I’m happy it was just a sample.

I, for some idiotic reason, sold my half full 100mL and thought ‘hey I have a first release miniature, why would I need anything more? I have enough.’
Honey, no. This is an incredible fragrance and one can never have enough. I haven’t seen it anywhere, either… I’m really quite gutted by this. Anyway, it’s a rookie mistake.
The scent itself is absolutely phenomonal. The formulations didn’t change much between 2007 & 2015 which is quite impressive, admirable even. Cocoa powder in the beginning that’s not too dry and not too sweet. The lavender’s presence is debatable. It’s there, but it’s alien. In saying that, Covet is to lavender and cocoa as Alien is to jasmine and vanilla. Strange, unusual. The citruses in the opening, specifically that fresh lemon, give it a beautiful zing. The teak wood in the base (I know it when I smell it – thank you, Fracas Pour Homme) is stunning. The lily of the valley gives of a tart, fruity scent – almost like apple. I’ve heard this scent referred to as green and that confuses me a little, but I’ll take it with the addition that it may be a small amount of synthetic galbanum that they’re smelling. Anyway, it needn’t be debated. This is a solid, totally original fragrance that can’t really be copied.

Chocolate/Lime & Musk. I remember loving this scent and I remember getting a lot of compliments on it as well. It lasted 4+ hours on me and the silage was good.

indeed, the new Version by Lovely Company is a comletely different fragrance – I didn´t know when I was buying it, but I´m no disapouinted – dindt like teh chocolate and levandel in the original one so I like this plain citrussy scent much better. but again, it has completely nothing to do with the original Covet…they should have naem it differently, it´s pretty confusing for the customer then

A well made inexpensive unisex aromatic gourmand fume. If you forgot about the price point and the fact it’s a celebrity scent you’d think it was a niche fragrance and you’d forgive it of it’s quirky blend of notes.
As it is Covet is a fresh blend of chocolatey lemon, lavender and green florals with a warm woodsy finish. A friendly and memorable fragrance.

My review is for the original, now discontinued formulation.
I couldn’t agree more with the review by JackieM, so please read her review before buying Covet without trialling it. If however, you enjoy novel fragrances, go for it. The original is still widely available at low prices.
Covet can’t really be defined, and it is difficult to understand. It reminds me of that likeable kid in class who wore a pony tail on their forehead. Why? Attention seeking? Fashion forward, or simply a wonderful weirdo? That’s not to say that I dislike it, but it’s unlovable. Equally, the chartreuse juice and chocolate brown daisy stopper are a little jarring for me, but …. interesting.
I admire the ingenuity of the note recipe, but this cleverness doesn’t translate into an easily digestible meal. I DO enjoy the cacao opening, but Covet is a light fragrance (unless I overspray) which is at odds with the warmth of chocolate. Something seems to be missing to make it whole. I might try layering this with a vanilla fragrance and see what my recipe turns out like. Eton Mess probably.

I was asked by another member of Fragrantica to post a review of the new updated version of Covet that SJP is selling on her beauty site under her company, The Lovely Collection. I was utterly bummed to find that this is not the amazing classic I once adored and claimed as my signature scent. Previously bottled under the Coty brand, this new version has that same lemon-y opening as the original but it almost immediately started to fade into a vaguely powdery amber. I’m not getting the awesome cocoa powder that the original had. It was also a much more muted version and did not last as long as the original. I’ll test it again and luckily I still have a couple more bottles of the original formula. Bummer!

    10 july 2018
Several years ago ( maybe 8 or so) i have won a gift set of Covet on one Facebook page a recieved a 100ml perfume plus shower gel and body lotion set. I have smelked it back then and i couldnt make up my mind how i feel about this fragrance so i gifted it to my mom. She rarely uses perfumes so she never used it so when i came to her place one day this spring and didnt have any perfume on and wanted to put something i have found nothing that i could wear from her fragrances and then i have found this gift set still not used. She didnt like it… i sprayed myself with it during cold spring day and from that day im obsessed with this fragrance. It is soooo unique in my opinion, i cant think of anything else like it. Its crispy, zesty and buttery bitter at all the same time at once. That lemony note with musk and geranium… oooh.. aaah.. yum!! Sooooo delish… and the body lotion was still intact after all these years and its soooo gorg… long lasting and lingering…. i still dont smell a chocolate note that much… but it suppose to be dark chocolate so it has a very modest smell itself. Main notes i smells are lemon, geranium, musk, lavender and a hint of magnolia. But all yogether its a unique blend of notes that i strangely like now and not back then
Niw during summer im using body lotion on my legs and perfume on mh hair and its so freakingly intoxicating in a good way… honey child, where have you been all of these years, my lovely (ok, i loove her Lovely as well, one of my all time favorites).
I read that its made now not by Coty, but i guess i still have one of the original batches and its simply amazing. Now i finally understand raving reviews about this fragrance but i didnt then.
I had to have it indeed, so its now mine!!!!
    🙂

I don’t know how useful this review can be, but I have to agree with the previous reviewer who succinctly states that in theory the idea is wonderful but…would she choose to wear it?
It captures how I feel as well. I do like this and would wear it if it landed in my hands but I do not think I could spend $40 (at Rexall Drugs) to obtain it.
The opening is quite intriguing, lavender and grass and a warmth (chocolate?). The mid is less intense but still unique and playful. The dry down is very lovely, and before it completely settles I feel like I smell like leather…?
The lasting impression is very soft and subtle, but still intriguing and unique. Fresh yet comforting. Like a green amber?
I enjoy when a unique scent is introduced to the mainstream, and I like this but not enough to spend the $$$ on it. Again, it’s lovely but I’m not sure of the occasion which would call for it, at least in my current lifestyle!

    Beware of musk!
It was a blind buy based on Fragrantica provided notes. I love lavender and I was intrigued. The opening is amazing – smells like sweet Earl Gray with fresh lemon in it. Sadly, after only 5 minutes it dries down to musk and stays musky. I dislike musky scents so I am very disappointed. Pass for me.

I can call this ”lemonade”. So soft that i even can’t smell anything.

A truly unique creation. It’s hard to even think of another fragrance that could be categorized with it, at least at my level of experience with perfume. Some really unlikely notes going at once.
There’s a citrus-chocolate blend here that in theory is very delicious. Add to that the powdery or herbal notes and it is less edible and more fresh, but it now has a lot of character.
Yet somehow I can’t say I love it. It is season-less yet I can’t think of a specific kind of day that I would want to reach for it. It is neither warm nor cool, inviting or intimidating. It isn’t really modern per se, but it doesn’t evoke any particular era either. I can’t even bring to mind the type of woman who might embody the “Covet” persona.
In short, as I see it this is a wonderful success in fragrance theory, but in translation to imagination or feeling, it loses most of its advantage.

    New York, early September 2007.
I remember vividly walking around and seeing many ads all around Manhattan with Sarah Jessica Parker wearing a fancy white dress, long black gloves and holding a green bottle in her hands, infront of a shattered shop window. So of course I was curious to try it.
I went to Macy’s and got a free sample of Covet. It was love at first sniff! After I finished it I bought the first of many bottles and gift sets of this awesome perfume, with body lotion and solid perfume.
Let’s say it’s all about sensations: chocolate, lavander, geranium, sicilian lemon … the result is something special, peculiar, never tried before. The lasting power is strong, as well as the sillage.
I bought it recently a new bottle on Sjp beauty and discovered it’s produced again; its formulation is different, somehow not as strong as the first.
Love the commercial too, set in Place Vendome, Paris.
The 50 ml bottle is absolutely gorgeus; the 100 ml a little less because too big and less gracious.
A wonderful fragrance that makes you feel like walking in green fields during warm summer days. LOVE!

I love Stash, so I swapped for Covet when I got the chance. I don’t regret it, but I can’t say I love the fragrance. This is a very confusing one for me.
It’s undoubtedly lemony (someone compared the citrus to citronella, which is apt) and softly mentholated like lavender, but it has a warmth in the base (the chocolate?) that keeps this from being easily pegged as a ‘fresh’ fragrance. On paper, I should love Covet, but it’s just okay to me. I think the reason for this is that Covet doesn’t go all in on any one of its aspects–it tries to be fresh, it tries to be sweet, it tries to be aromatic, but it fails at being any one of those things. It’s like a casserole made of random leftovers, or when you would mix all the Play Doh colors as a child and get a murky gray color. Normally I admire a well-blended fragrance, but Covet is unfortunately less than the sum of its parts. It’s a jack of all trades and a master of none, and all this confusion boils down to a ‘meh’ scent.
It may work differently on other people, so I’d say this is a 50/50 gamble if you’re trying to blind buy it. At worst, you’ll end up with a ‘filler’ fragrance in your collection.

This is great. Grass, lavender, chocolate, a light Egyptian musk, and a tiny hint of Elmer’s glue on first spray (it fades). It’s a weird combination but it works—like someone’s version of Amortentia, the Harry Potter potion that smells different to everyone based on smells they love and what attracts them. Fantastic.

To me, Covet smells like rolling around in a field of freshly cut grass and fragrant clover.. I don’t get mint or chocolate from this, thankfully–I love sweet perfumes but wasn’t keen on smelling like an Andes mint. I really loved the list of notes so I had to sample this one. It’s very green and pretty and actually reminds me a bit of Cartier Baiser Vole.
The bottle is gorgeous, by the way!

FYI – this gem was discontinued and has now quietly appeared for sale on SJP’s beauty site in a 3.4oz bottle only. Not sure if it’s now being produced under another house but I know this has a dedicated following and wanted those hoping to snag a new bottle to know.
12/21/2017 Update #1 Received my bottle and the box does say it is now being produced by the Lovely Company like Stash. I haven’t opened yet, as I still have an older bottle open, but will update again once I can test the new bottle and compare to the old!

Not a SJP fan at all, and when I first tried Stash I almost expected to hate it before I smelt it. Well to my surprise, I love Stash, I love it so much it made me blind buy Covet based upon the strange notes, the polarizing reviews on here and the fact I found a large tester for next to nothing on eBay. Covet is a strange animal. It starts odd and I can understand the comparisons to furniture polish. I think its the lemon and chocolate mixing with the alcohol at first spray, it’s kind of muddy and confusing. As it dries its becomes more palatable. Not a fan of lemon, lavender or chocolate in a cologne, but here it’s not a total failure. It’s all contrasts as the notes work against each other, which makes this unusual and interesting, but its not an easy fragrance to describe or wear. I don’t get any greenness in this at all, its more ambiguous and muted. The chocolate stops any fresh or sweet notes from fully developing. Cant think of an occasion to wear this, but Covet is more dressy and unisex and verges on being masculine. Its almost niche in the way the unusual combination of notes makes it unlike anything else. The only draw back is the quality of ingredients is rather cheap, but it doesn’t ruin Covet, it just prevents me from choosing this over my regular scents. End of the day I give it a mild thumbs up for inginutiy and creativity.

Strange, I love this smell, but only AFTER the horrendous opening. Seriously it’s the most ugly 10 seconds after spraying this- I feel like I have poison on me. Is it just me? What’s up with that?
Then, miraculously, between blinks, it turns into a sweet creamy green minty thing of quirky charm. I won’t even try with the notes because the ones I see on voting don’t make sense except for maybe the chocolate.
This is really, really nice and cozy, but also cooling from the minty greenness. I guess I am really falling for this yummy, cool, (yet warm and creamy) and herby chocolate mint perfume! I will plug my nose when I first spray though. Layering this with Tokyo Milk Bittersweet lotion enhances the chocolate note.

Well, I just received a sample if this scent from a generous friend here on Fragrantica and after about a half hour of wearing it on my inner arm I smell minty green-ness, a touch of lavendar, and an even smaller touch of chocolate but I do like it. Like others have said, it us interesting and it unfolds beautifully. I don’t know if I’ve experienced it in full right now but it’s good so far!

  22. :

Minty herbal. It’s… interesting?? It’s like toothpaste mixed with herbal soap. A bit of sparkle from the lemon. Not quite sure where I’m getting the mint from, maybe a combination of lavender, citrus, and cashmeran. There’s a rather jarring house cleaner vibe, something upscale for the kitchen. Underneath there’s an intriguing honeyed note from what I assume is amber (and maybe the chocolate). It dries down to a nice but somewhat masculine cologne type thing. I really don’t know how I feel about this one. I’m tempted to get it just because it’s so odd, and can be had for pennies.

Covet has been discontinued for some years now and I thought that I had missed my chance to experience this wonderful fragrance. I don’t know where they hide all the bottles but they turned up at the discount stores in Australia and I quickly picked up a couple.
My whole family loves this fragrance on me and they compliment me whenever I wear it, so I have been wearing it quite a bit lately. So much so that I went and ordered another back up because I am going through this bottle quite quickly with everyday wear.
A good spritz and it lasts all day without losing any of its potency, I call this my little Green Fairy and the colour reminds me very much of Absinthe.
There is such a large mix of flavours in this bottle that the only way I can describe it is to; imagine running through a field of long green grass, flowers and herbs tangling around your legs as you fall exhausted to the ground breathing deeply the pungency of the crushed flora beneath you warmed by the sun as it embraces the earth with all its summer delights.

Covet is a perfume for perfume lovers, and I love that SJP has done a couple of those, even if Stash didn’t work for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love Lovely and my Britneys, but it’s so refreshing to see a celeb venture a bit outside of “safe” territory, and it’s awesome that SJP is a fellow fraghead. Covet is very aromatic, grown up, and unisex smelling, with a distinctly “green” feel. The chocolate here is a dark chocolate and lends just enough sweetness to keep Covet out of clear masculine territory. I find Covet to boast better projection and longevity than the Lovely line. Great stuff.

This is so delicious. It smells like liquorice to me. The bottle with the flowery cap is most gorgeous, so beautifully shaped and colored.
Edit: Strangely I smell anise which I love, but there is not listed that note.

In 2007, after the huge sales success with Lovely, followed by the flanker Liquid Satin, it was the time for Sarah Jessica Parker to announce a completely different fragrance: Covet.
Covet came to the market presenting something unexpected, completely different from the innocent or musky florals of the time. The perfume was inspired by Sarah’s passion for layering contrasting fragrances. Thus, carrying sour and gourmands accords, its innovative side was perceived and the fragrance was highly commented, during the first months after the release.
With notes of Sicilian lemon, green and moist foliage, geranium, lavender and chocolate, it touches the skin in a green and bitter way, frightening and at the same time refreshing. It looks like a handful of grass dipped in many aldehydes. Then, the heart beats floral, with notes of magnolia, honeysuckle and lily of the valley. At this stage, the lily dominates and the fragrance begins to gain smoothness, but still retains the green aspect. Then, begins to appear a powdery facet, very subtle. After a while, as it by magic, Covet changes completely and begins to become a semi-gourmand perfume. Its base features notes of musk, cashmere wood (today, we already know it is cashmeran compound), teak wood, vetiver and amber.
The word that defines Covet is intriguing. I met Covet in 2009, through a sample, and did not rest until I got my own bottle. It brought me the same contrast between green x gourmand that, until then, I had only felt in another fragrance: Vetiver Oriental, by Serge Lutens. They are very different fragrances, but the innovative aspect is the same and they still enchant me until today.
Covet reacts very well on men’s skin and, surprisingly, it seems that the chocolate note is at the base, because that’s when it gets more noticeable. But it is worth remembering that it must be tested on the skin, since I have witnessed experiences without any gourmand aspect and I also have read reports of people who can not feel the denser base, getting only the green and bitter side of the scent.
Covet has Eau de Parfum concentration, projects very well and has high durability. The only thing I particularly do not like is the bottle. I should see a flower, but whenever I look, I remember a sink faucet. What can I do? I won’t lie.

Be careful with these they were discontinued a long time ago and have turned up in truckloads at all the discount chemists selling them really cheap along with the purple 1. I shudder to think how or where they were stored and if they are off by now.
On a side note, men seem to really like this so I think males could get away with wearing it I would love to see how it develops on their chemistry as they are slightly different to women. I think those of you who like this should try Love Never Dies it is also a weird chocolate fragrance that is sweet but earthy and somehow works in a gorgeous bottle.

SotE: After trying way too many Teone scents in one evening for my nose to handle, I’m coming back to the celeb scents. It reminds me of just how much I love this scent and that maybe I should get a back up bottle. This fragrance, like Carrie’s r/s with Mr. Big, is seemingly complicated on the inside but probably super simple on the inside. Only, in the case of this fragrance, it’s good. Sort of reminds me of how those potent 80s scents smelt like no ingredients you could think of, but told a story. Ignoring the ‘what notes are these’ aspect of analysing, this one tells a tale … and then kinda reveals all the notes at once, when the top notes die down. It’s like we had dinner, then went straight cigarettes in bed after the deed was done. It’s confusing.

I love this so much! It does last long on my skin. It’s a safe but beautiful scent. I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear this cuz it’s different plus it’s not readily available from where I’m from which is great!
It does kinda remind me of Morocconoil, the styling oil, a lot!

Bit of a disappointing blind buy for me but I’ll give it more time. I thought this had been discontinued? For so long I couldn’t find it anywhere but its suddenly reappeared on offer in the Perfume Shop along with Covet in Bloom. I got 100ml for £15.

My review, as posted in my thread after I received my bottle! 🙂
Covet came to my door today, just got the 30ml… What can I say? I honestly don’t know how to describe it, everything just all comes together, in what you would think it wouldn’t smell good (considering the notes listed together) but they do, and they smell nice. I do like it! I just wish I had the nose to pick apart the notes. Maybe I thought I would smell the lavender more, or the chocolate.. or even the citrus, but it brings a sense of warmth and I can’t stop smelling my wrist! All in all a good blind buy!
P.S – Wish I had purchase a BIGGER bottle!! Im loving this scent!!!!

I loved wearing this one in summer. Refreshing initially…then evolving to something with warmth and depth with mint and lavender peeking through now and again. But today it’s a cold winter’s day. All I smell is mint and lavender. Sharp. No warmth. Constantly assaulting my nostrils… even during a workout. If you don’t like this one…maybe give it another go during a different season because it is a unique fragrance and worth persisting with.

Covet is a very pleasant and overlooked fragrance. The green-grassy notes here remind me a lot of the sweet grass note at the forefront of Lucky You for Men (a fragrance which I adored as a young teenager and was the first fragrance I ever owned), but done in a way that is so much more luxurious and mature.
The way the fragrance smells has a beautiful velvety, oily texture – like a lightweight body oil. It makes sense that this fragrance came in a solid perfume version (a very classy and thoughtful ancillary product that you don’t see too often anymore, kudos to them) because it smells like something gliding smoothly over your skin. I don’t know how the first voted note is lemon — I don’t get any sort of citrus blast at the beginning, in fact I think the fragrance is fairly linear and mellow. In the category of aromatic fragrances, Covet is probably the most gentle, soft one I’ve ever smelled.
Covet had only one flanker, Pure Bloom, but it is a sanitized white floral that has nothing to do with the original. I would have loved an “Intense” flanker of Covet with more presence and staying power. A version with the green-aromatic and chocolate notes turned up to 11 would be amazing.
I love the commercial and the marketing for this, but it seems very ill-suited to the fragrance. Covet is not an evening gown and diamonds, it’s an extremely comfortable yet stylish pair of chinos and short-sleeved shirt. The commercial is so charming but way too formal for this fragrance.
Covet is very pretty, unique, and easy to wear. I’m not crazy about the weak sillage and performance, but it’s still a solid fragrance that you can find at a very inexpensive price.

I have owned most of Sarah Jessica parker’s fragrances. I find that her fragrances are interesting and different. This fragrance is so unique and the quality is amazing. This could have been by Dior or a fashion house known for bold fragrances it is in my opinion an underrated fragrance.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

Begins with a bright green, citrusy bite! I can see how this could be off-putting at first, but give it chance on your own skin and see how it mingles with your chemistry. On myself it settles into a powdery, rich dark chocolate floral with some detectable lavender. But it’s not your grandmother’s lavender, it lends more of an herbal tea element that really plays nicely with the rest of the sexy drydown.
This isn’t your typical, run-of-the-mill celebrity fragrance in the least. If you’re looking for a sugary sweet gourmand, this may not be for you. It begins as sort of a strange one but you just can’t leave it alone. It settles close to the skin and becomes mysterious and addicting, rich and intimate.
I reach for this as a winter or comfort scent. Two of the pickiest, smell-sensitive people I know have grown to love this once they got past the initial blast of lemony, green notes. Could be an exciting blind buy if you like a challenge. 🙂

This perfume is for me the love for the second impression: the first meeting was very embarassing, i didn’t know, what to think about. But – one month later i tested it again and it was something different. Very original, unusual mix of chocolate, something green, citrus, lavender, spices…One of my favorites for spring and summer.

    It’s my second review
When I first tested it,I remember it to be weird and vegetative but something made me come back to it so after using up my 5mil decant I happened to like it and now I’m going to receive it in a swap
When first sprayed I can also smell what is referred to as glue-smell in other reviews, well I love to smell glue but such a smell in a perfume would be very off putting but this glue this goes away in seconds and is replaced with lemon+lavender+very slight green undertone.I’d love to be able to pickup chocolate but I really can’t.Still I like it as it is.a very natural, non sour lemon+lavender which gives it a unisex vibe.drydown is less unique, something that larger number of people may appreciate.it’s very pleasant and is the actual reason that makes me decide to have a large bottle in my collection.I can detect a shadow of lovely here, which I love.slight hint of lemony lavender still lingers in the back ground but a combination of soft florals, musk and cashmere like woods,a lovely floralwoodymusk is what I can mostly smell on my skin and I like it a lot!it’s clean and fresh also warm and charming.it has a tomboyish feel as well as having a feminine vibe.covet is not only one of the better and different celebrity perfumes,it’s even a well crafted and interesting one among modern launches IMO.I like how it develops on my skin and goes through different stages.it’s not as strange or weird as it’s notes, reviews and your first test may suggest but definitely it’s original and different from mainstream perfumes.
I dislike green scents but it’s not really a green perfume to my nose, not a gourmand chocolatey one either.I highly recommend everyone to try it on skin and not just once and give it enough time to unfold.more than half of expensive niche perfumes aren’t as good as covet IMHO.longevity passes six hours and sillage is moderate. It’s wearable for office and is signature material
I’d love to try other perfumes from Sarah Jessica parker as I like both lovely and covet a lot and I’m very sad that their unavailable here.

Just arrived today after blind buying it, I must admit I was a bit anxious after reading the mixed reviews but I’ve wanted to try this for ages and when I saw it on offer I had to get it. Well I needn’t have worried, it’s a nice fresh feminine fragrance, perfect for this time of year (UK Spring), it’s not outstanding or shocking, I smell sweet citrus followed by a very feminine comforting scent. I really don’t understand what all the fuss is about this, there’s definitely much much worse out there ( yes Jessica Simpson I’m referring to your Fancy Nights, it’s left me traumatized for life lol)
Anyway all in all happy with this and glad I finally got to have a bottle 🙂

Covet is not for everyone; I’ve had my 100 mL bottle for 7 years now and I don’t reach for it often, but on those days I’m feeling quirky or in need of a little “je ne sais quoi” I choose Covet. On me, this is a long-lasting, strong green with a note on dry down (musk, chocolate – both?) that I can only describe as naughty. That animalic, aromatic quality can be somewhat distracting so I keep it to 1, maybe 2 spritzes at most. Very unique scent. Worth a try before you buy.

I discovered this gorgeous fragrance quite recently. It was on sale at my local pharmacy so I thought I’d give it a try. It really is unlike anything I own or have smelled before. It’s so unique and unusual and I think that’s what I love most about it. I definitely get the lemon and lavender and what I think is chocolate. Gorgeous and really Different! It’s a love for me. On my skin longevity is average at 4-5 hours and sillage is soft to moderate.

What an under-rated, underappreciated scent! Covet is quite the lovely and unique fragrance – lavender, lemon and chocolate pretty much sums it up.
I think the challenge was that the first spray smells like lemon bug spray and probably not great on a tester strip, but give it 30 minutes on the skin, and you’ll be in lemony, chocolately, lavender heaven!
I wore the heck out of this about 7/8 years ago, and if I saw it again, would gladly snatch up every awesome-looking bottle they had. This was definitely ahead of its time.

i love this perfume! i know it has notes that shouldn’t work-but on my skin they do. and i have been frustrated lately-everything seems to have venilla in it-and i am so over vanilla….but this is CHOCOLATE!!…..wonderful chocolate….it makes such a sexy scent….but not so overwhelming you can’t wear it for day.
this is a new love for me-definitely a love!

This is a very unusual scent, I get mostly a spicy minty vibe with perhaps a bit of the bitter chocolate coming through. I really like this, I am wearing a tiny amount from an ancient sample vial so I’m afraid I’m not getting the full effect lol I am intrigued enough to want to purchase a FB I am definitly a fan of anything unusual in a scent and this is so different then anything else I’ve smelled lately, I have to have it.

Usually I don’t like celebrity scent because they all smell the same thing, fruity floral or sweet girlie vanilla. Covet is so different and complex. It’s dry, green and woody and has a masculine vibe and a rare geranium note. I really like it and adore the funny video ad done by Jean-Paul Goude. I can’t wait to smell Stash. In his book The Perfect Scent, Chandler Burr said that Parker have a nose. I agree with him. She has a real sensibility to scent and she’s audacious. Twilight is an other interesting one by SJP.

Don’t be scared off by the notes listed in this one – it looks like it would be a hot mess, but as other reviewers have said, it works somehow. Also don’t be scared off by the first few seconds after spraying. I agree this one is unusual based on what is typically available from celebrity fragrances, but I don’t find it as weird as I was expecting it to be based on the notes and the reviews, except for the opening, which is really kind of like chocolate mint with a dash of glue, (sounds really awful but it’s not, just unusual), but that changes in seconds. Then it turns into a really pretty green woody floral with a hint of chocolate that is very unique. I find the final dry down to be actually on the sweet side and not so unusual but not unpleasant. This will never be among my top 5 favorites, but it was worth the pittance I paid for it and I will enjoy using it once in a while – I love variety after all and I have nothing else like it. Lasts a long time but isn’t at all obnoxious if sprayed conservatively. K
