Description

Cotton T-Shirt smells just like its name suggests – like a clean, just washed cotton T-shirt that almost every woman has in her wardrobe. The aroma is delightfully airy and cool, designed to produce a pleasant feeling of well-being and comfort.

It opens with aldehydes, bergamot and fresh soapy accord of washed laundry. The heart of the composition is made of dewy freesia, cotton flower and rose wood, laid on the comfortable base of sheer amber, warm musk and vetiver.

Available as 30 and 65 ml Eau de Parfum.

Cotton T-Shirt was launched in 2011.

My first impression of Cotton T-shirt was not very good. The first 15-20 minutes it smelled very much like boxwood, enough said. Next phase – some pepper and strong herbs on top of the boxwood. Better, but still a bit rank. It ends OK though. There is actually a clean, fresh scent, finally, but too late, and too masculine for me. Lasts for 2-3 hours and then it’s gone.

Goes on super soapy laundry detergent, but dries quickly to peppery laundry clean scent. Smells clean and fresh, and I do like it. Doesn’t last much above two hours though. Basic, simple scent, not much going on, but smells clean, as advertised. I could like more cedar/fresh cotton scent like an actual clean white tee, but it’s nice as-is. Don’t expect too much and you might like this one for it’s simple clean-laundry vibe. Remidns me a lot of BBW type ‘clean cotton’ scents.

This is probably the most comforting, cosy, safe, cuddly and warm, and just mwah scent.. to be worn by MEN. If I was a guy, I would definitely wear it.

Smells good, but too masculine for me.

To my surprise it smells like peaches on me. Not fresh ones rather a speficic softener i used to have..Don´t really know if I like it or not. I will try it again. I think I was expecting a more fresh scent. This works maybe like a comforting scent. Nothing that stick out in the crowd.

Does what it says on the bottle: “Soapy fresh clean unisex smells nice and fresh”
Lasts longer than the Demeter products.

I purchased a bottle of this to try before I could no longer find it (as it’s being discontinued). This scent is a masculine scent and reminds me very much of a mens aftershave or mens body wash. It’s to masculine of a scent for my taste. I paid a pretty penny for it (purchased the largest size bottle), so I’ll use it as a room spray or give it to a male friend or family member, so that it don’t go to waste.

Ok, I initially posted a comment on this based on spraying a tester on my arm. Now I have it and am a bit more familiar with it I actually think it’s pretty terrible. It smells like cheap aftershave and ever so slightly rubbery to me. I will sell it on Ebay as some people obviously like it.

a very unusual, highly addictive scent! there will never be a perfume like this again – not because of its beauty but its uniqueness. i am sorry it is discontinued.
opens with a hit of bergamot and pear drops (aldehydic). unusual because alot of the clean scents have a sharp citrus opening, like lemons. this one doesnt. imagine a sour lemon sprinkled with sugar – not sharp, just tangy, mouthwatering and fruity.
Then, middle notes for me were very strongly freesia and cotton flower. Then a strong musk base note, with a hint of white woods. A touch of violet would have finished it off nicely.
The experience of the perfume is like a cotton school shirt fresh out the dryer – with the musky cotton smell. the example someone gave of ironing a mens T shirt with the male musky odor on it it very accurate.
but for me the scent, while very accurate to its name as smelling like a cotton T shirt fresh out the warehouse, was much of an unfinished perfume. there were missing scents which you expected there to be. in the top note, there was a marked absence of either lemon or berry. there needed a citrus kick. similarly in the base notes, there was missing either a strong woody note or else a violet note. the perfume did not seem well rounded.
however, it is so unique, truly mouthwatering and ver accurate in its description, if you have a chance to try it i suggest you do.think of the dementer scents. it is more like a portrait than a fine fragrance.
but if you are looking for a perfume and not a piece of art i suggest you try cool or even warm cotton.

There are boyfriend blazers, boyfriend jeans, boyfriend sweaters and this is a true boyfriend perfume.
It has a masculine edge that feels so effortlessly sexy on a right woman.
It does not smell like perfume (I love some truly perfumey scents though) but it has some aroma-therapeutic qualities. Very comforting.

I love the scent of this perfume, just not on me!
It smells like a perfume for guys, so I wouldn’t mind smelling this on my boyfriend 🙂

This is very much ‘your boyfriends t-shirt’ – very comforting. Aldehydes, cotton, fresh laundry. I think it is very typical Clean fragrance. I really like this for work, I could recommend for ones who like the smell of fresh laundry or other Clean-fragrances and work (if you can’t smell loud), maybe sports.

Oh, yes, this is a cotton t-shirt, but not a clean one 🙁

I disliked this one less than the other Clean fragrances I tried but eh, it was simply boring instead of bad.
Sort of soapy, musky.. uh, that’s it.
Reminds me of GAP fragrances, but GAP’s were actually more successful.

First time I smelled Cotton T-Shirt I thought oh it’s okey, the second time I couldn’t get it out of my head…I bought it…no regrets, I love it.
At first it really smells like a clean t-shirt and then a wonderful soft smell and a little citrus.
I don’t like the other Clean perfumes and I don’t like Floral Aldehyde but this one is something I don’t want to be without.

This is an interesting fragrance. It is very different from the rest of the CLEAN line…If you are a fan of CLEAN you might like this, but you need to try this one first before purchasing because it is so different from the others. The first few 20-30 minutes it’s “love it or hate it” …after it dries down it is pretty much an inoffensive clean fragrance.
The best picture I can paint for you is taking a wet clean cotton T-shirt that a man has worn and it still has a hint of his cologne left in the fabric and ironing it….the steamy vapors that occur…this is it!
This fragrance starts out very aldehidic and the bergamot is prominent and up front and stays throughout the life of the fragrance. As it dries down the aldehydes leave and it becomes very soft/cottony fragrance. The vetiver stays pretty tame and I don’t get any amber what-so-ever.
I happen to love this fragrance…I know that I am in the minority though.

Clean Cotton T-shirt is light and pure. Bergamot, fresh laundry accord, clean aldehydes, dewy freesia, cotton flower, rosewood, sheer amber, musk, and a touch of vetiver. It’s funny how there is a fragrance called “Boyfriend” by Kate Wlash that smells nothing like what a man would wear or smell like. Clean Cotton T-shirt is exactly what a “Boyfriend” would wear and smell like! The subtle lemon scent of the aldehydes mixed with the musk give it a masculine edge. Love it!

To me Clean Cotton T Shirt has a definite lemon cleaning fluid quality to it. For me this is fine as it is a scent that I am fond of. However, if you don’t wish to smell like you’ve been cleaning all day I don’t recommend it. For a scent by Clean I think Cotton T Shirt has good staying power and projection as Clean is typically poor in these areas. Last time I wore it, it lasted for over 5 hours. Also, as others have said, this scent is leaning towards masculine.

A scent called Skin for women was also launched in 2011. Where are reviews???
This Cotton t-shirt is in wrong category, should be for men.

wow to me this smells just like my bf when he puts on one of his white t-shirts…very sexy to me! to me it smells more masculine, i think it would make a very sexy men’s cologne

I was really excited to try this one. I am all about fresh scents and the name sounded absolutely heavenly so I gave myself several liberal sprays…and almost instantly regretted it. It smells like a cotton t-shirt left in the washer that got mildewy. One thing I will say is that it definitely does not wear off quickly. The stench stayed with me all day which translated into a headache and a bad mood. Totally turned me off to the rest of the CLEAN brand.

I had been looking for a clean, cotton scent for awhile, and this is it!! It is the perfect, fresh laundered T-shirt smell I was looking for. Reminds me of when my mother would wash clothes and hang them outside on the clothesline to dry. Just very crisp and clean. Love it. Goes with anything.

I so wanted to love this scent, but I hate it. It smells like a sour cotton towel or t-shirt or musky stale sweat and kind of manly as in “sweaty” man.
I wish this really did smell like a clean cotton t shirt, but it doesn’t.

This just smells like strong soap or laundry detergent. I know that that’s what they were going for but if someone really wanted to smell like this, I would suggest taking a Bounce dryer sheet and rubbing it all over themselves every day- much more cost-effective than a $70 bottle for the same scent. What a gimmick! Plus, I feel like this “clean white t-shirt smell” should be marketed more to men than women. I’ve known guys to wear no cologne and smell like fresh laundry and it’s very sexy on them. Still, I don’t think they would pay $70 to recreate that when all they have to do is wear a freshly washed shirt.

I am from the South, born in 1964, an era when proper Southern mothers always washed their whites in scalding hot water, Tide detergent, and Clorox bleach. This method leaves a distinctive soapy clean but not bleachy smell. And that’s exactly what Clean Cotton T-shirt smells like at first on me—a basket of freshly laundered white t-shirts and sheets. I am really astonished that the perfumer captured exactly that scent. Therefore, it’s rather nostalgic for me.
After a half hour the bergamot shows up as a delicate citrus veil. In two hours a faint floral slightly sweetens things without making it sweet. I know that sounds contradictory, but the freesia seems sweet in contrast to the initial aldehyde soapy topnotes. After that the musk and amber round out the freesia. But it is still lightly fresh and clean even though the overt laundry topnotes have passed, which is a bit disappointing.
Unlike other perfumes I own or have tried, this one changes the most from Top to Middle to Base, almost like three different scents. Fortunately, I really like all its incarnations.
This is a nice summer fragrance that doesn’t become cloying in the heat. If you are prudent with usage, you could reapply in the middle of the day at work without offending your co-workers. My only critcism of this fragrance is that it lasts only a few hours on me.
If you are a fan of Garden Botanika’s Heart (how on earth is that fragrance NOT in this database?!), I think you may like Cotton T-Shirt.

Smelled a bit mildewy…Not very clean smelling. Captured the smell of a damp t-shirt that had been sitting in the dryer for days. Also more masculine than feminine. I did not hate the scent but I was disappointed as I am a huge fan of the CLEAN line.
