Description
Davidoff launches its annual summer limited editions of the always popular Cool Water fragrances in a collection called Cool Water Exotic Summer for 2016. Since the original Cool Water from 1988 and Cool Water Woman from 1996, Davidoff finds inspiration in oceans and annually launches new, limited edition aromatic-aquatic fragrances. The new collection was preceded by Cool Water Summer Seas in 2015, Cool Water Coral Reef in 2014 and Cool Water Into The Ocean in 2013.
Cool Water Exotic Summer for men is a fresh and bright reinterpretation of the original with aromatic – citrusy and marine notes. It begins with sparkling notes of mandarin, enriched with aromatic juniper, basil and sage. Cool mint in the heart makes a prelude to the woody, masculine base of sandalwood. Available as 125 ml Eau de Toilette.
The distinguishing bottles of the collection are decorated with discreet palm tree prints, while their boxes show pictures of sea lagoons.

Its actually very hard to tell the difference from the original, the only way to put it is that its somewhat toned-down…thats it.
Having said that even the original is hardly a performance beast, I dont really see how toning it down makes much sense, and for that reason, its hard to justify why anyone would choose this over the original version (is 50 mins too long for you? maybe try this one then:D)
The only reason I would go for it, is if was on some crazy mega-sale, but in fact, the original is anyway one of the most usual suspects of any parfume sale pretty much anywhere in the word (alongside CK one…) so I mean it this one really has to be around for dirt-cheap to make any sense by buying it.
Other than that, I actually like to bottle, real cool color on the cap and nice how it faints to white down the bottle, certainly doesnt hurt to throw one in the beach bag and spray it for the drive home (longer it wont last anyway, unless you live a mile from the beach:D)

Not too much to say here that hasn’t already been said. Not as citrusy, and a little greener than some of the other recent flankers. Reminds me a lot of Aspen but with more depth.

Excellent flanker, more mellow, toned down and less aggressive version of the original. Perfect for summer, beach and so on. Only downfall is the longevity: 1 hour tops. But it’s a really cheap buy and you can’t overspray this one, so even that is not a big problem. Bottles of previous versions are nicer, though. Still highly recommended.

Cool Water Exotic Summer is decent for what it is but in my opinion none of the flankers have come close to containing what the original has.
A fresh scent that is hard to dislike but doesn’t have any real wow factor, as groover stated in his review it’s a bit better than Coral Reef (which I also own) but is somewhat linear, the original Cool Water begins sharp and fresh but gets a little darker, Exotic Summer just appears then disappears without any real sense of drydown.
Needless to say longevity is not its strongsuit. I burned through Coral Reef in about a month of use and I predict the same for Exotic Summer. I guess this is fine as every summer a new version comes out to try (and I always have a large bottle of the original anyway).
If you are a fan of Cool Water and can find it on offer might be worth a purchase, otherwise just stick with the original.

Well for me this one lasted around 4 hours which is great for the type of fragrance it is.
No complaints, it’s fresh and clean and does what it’s supposed to do, happy with my purchase

Ok, this summer I will wear it for every day use, it’s very fresh and young but the lasting is very very weak, not so bad for the hotter months

A bit better than the previous summers,
not as synthetic and sweet as coral reef
into the oceans and summer seas, this one
seems a bit fresher, but the lasting power
is not much improved over the years.
