Description

Heat is the first fragrance by attractive and talented Beyonce and it arrives on the market in February 2010. Name of the fragrance was inspired by Beyonce‘s tour and performances. Colour of flacon and liquid was chosen after Beyonce‘s favourite colour – red, with a wish to look like fire with antique details.

Beyonce‘s temperament was depicted through the whole concept of the fragrance, from name and design to composition created in cooperation with perfumers of the house of Givaudan – Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin. Top notes of Heat are decorated with red vanilla-orchid, magnolia, neroli and peach. A passionate heart offers honeysuckle, almond and musky cream, while a base finishes with sequoia wood, tonka and amber.

Even though Beyonce is advertising face of perfumes Diamonds Armani and True Star Tommy Hilfiger, she says that her first fragrance, Heat, represents herself. Her wish is that her first fragrance stands for everything that makes her and that she is content with the final product, without worrying about deadlines of work on the perfume. “This is my first fragrance and I want to be sure that I will love it forever! ” – stated Beyonce for wwd.

Fragrance Heat was created in an antique glass flacon, just like Beyonce wanted. She coloured it in red nuances which remind of flames transforming into burning orange. Fiery and sexy, just like her, the flacon is decorated with a discrete gold detail on neck of the flacon with engraved name of the fragrance. Assortment of Heat perfume includes 30, 50 and 100ml EDT, along with a 200 ml golden lotion.

Advertising campaign was made by photographer Michael Thompson, while video commercial was directed by Jake Nava. Face of the advertising campaign is Beyonce Knowles, of course.

If anyone has ever been to Greeley Colorado, fun fact, the entire city smells of boiling blood from stockyards, and that’s what this smells like. I wish I knew why this perfume is STILL the most repulsive, offensive, disgusting thing I’ve ever smelled. I tend to avoid celebrity perfumes and this is a great example of why.

Starts with a huge syrupy peach opening and rich orchid centre. The almond and macaron notes are nice but fleeting here. If you have the patience to wait for the drydown though the warm amber finish is the best part of this fragrance.

It’s interesting to me how the notes listed can be so different from what I initially detect. This is a fruity blast with a very distinct grape . . . as in grape flavoring . . . note. It’s very youthful, and I can imagine my 13 year old nieces liking it.
Other than that, I’m not overly impressed, and wouldn’t bother spending the money on it. Nice. Likeable enough. Could get sickening in the heat.

I RARELY leave negative reviews, ever. But this one I just have to.
ONE WORDS DESCRIBES THIS :: HAIRSPRAY.
I sprayed it…and it may as well have been a non-scented aerosol hairspray. I couldn’t believe this was even released like this.
    Awful awful awful.
It actually is the SOLE reason that I didn’t try any of her other fragrances for years and years. Finally…back about a year ago in 2017, I bought Rise and was pleasantly surprised with the clean, musky smell of that one. But this one is just awful…and her DEBUT perfume which sometimes I feel they put the most energy, effort, and detail into. Just a shame. This is awful. The dislike bar above speaks for itself as Beyoncé is not someone like Justin Bieber or Paris Hilton whose reputation is super negative making the votes biased and unreasonable. The dislike bar above…genuinely reflects the alcoholic, poor construction of this perfume. It’s that bad. And I’m NOT someone who’s hard to please with fragrances. I complain very little as long as performance is moderate and the smell is pleasant…I’m usually happy.
    Scent Itself – 1/10
    Longevity – 3-4 hours
    Projection – Moderate. 2-3 feet.

This…is not pleasant. I get some vanilla, musk, and fruit, but it reminds me of dampness. Something about it makes everything smell damp.

    The bottle:
It’s a nice bottle suppose to resemble “fire” which I don’t really see it, but thats okay it’s still a lovely bottle that would look nice for any bottle collection.
    Inside the bottle:
Sensual, sweet and dark are the words to describe this perfume. When first sprayed you get the peach, amber and tonka beans. When dried you get the macaron, orchid and musk mixed with tonka beans. Longevity is not bad.Sillage Is not heavy but strong.
    Overall:
This perfume is great for someone who likes sweet, spice and dark smells. I don’t recommend this perfume if your sensitive to perfume or someone who doesn’t like strong tonka bean and musk smells. I’m not sensitive to perfume and yet every time I smell this perfume I end up getting a headache.

not sure if this get changed by time (old bottle) but I rememeber being it sweet and almost gormand (almods+maccarons) but now it´s just fresh on me – a lot of peach and orchid only. no sweetnes at all -rather cold than “heated” I have the bottle for some two years and havnet use it much in the past year so maybe the content chanched

WOW!!! An oriental vanilla that I don’t like? Who would have thought it possible? Except this one is truly a scrubber on me. Reminds me of some of the powerful fragrances in the 80’s that didn’t agree with my chemistry.
I’m sure some can wear this well but not me.
I have NOTHING to compare to this.

Heat by Beyonce is the worst perfume I’ve ever smelled. Whatever it was that slithered out of the bottle wasn’t perfume but chemical warfare, just startlingly awful. Now I realize that many find this scent lovely. Taste is an individual thing. Heat probably smells great to many and works better with their skin and body chemistry. But I had to rush to scrub this one off lest it do permanent damage.
Maybe the bottle was off, hopefully it was off. I can’t imagine a company would put out anything this hideous on purpose. This perfume personifies everything that’s wrong with celeb scents. It seems thrown together and cheaply made, counting on Beyonce’s name for sales. Recently I came across an article where celebs were named who hated their own perfume enough to refuse to have anything to do with it. And yet consumers are expected to buy this dreck!

I did buy “Heat” after I bought “Midnight Heat.” I still consider the latter to be the best fragrance for my skin. However, I thought I should get “Heat” because it is Beyonce’s namesake fragrance. I must say “Heat” is very sweet and peachy to my nose. I get the scent of amber and macaroons, the tonka and almost everything else.
Surprise surprise though is the lack of the almond note in the “Heat” that I bought. I think when I tested the first batch from the store some time ago the liquid appeared to be more golden and there was more of a pronounced almond note. This is also seen in Fragrantica viewers votes as to what is identified in the top tier of the perfume. When I actually bought one this year, I noted a clearer liquid and a diminished nut note.
My sister who is no fan of Beyonce or her fragrance line also mentioned that she thought they reformulated “Heat” and I never voiced my suspicion that this new batch smelled less nutty and sweeter. I suspect she bought one but I would not know because she moved out sometime ago.
All in all, it is a good abstract representation of what heat could smell like if it were in a perfume but still too tame when all the sexed-up advertisement is considered. Definitely for women, not for very young girls. I like to wear this both day and in the evening when the longevity and sillage don’t need to compete with the cacophony of daytime sounds and scents.

It’s rather linear, going from caramel tending to red berries and a sharp sour heart, which is supposed to be creamy peach but isn’t, that lasts longer than I wish it did. Bought it after seeing reviews here and I regret it deeply. Definitely not the sexy gourmand I was expecting. Frankly, if not overdone, it could smell good on some 14 years old as her first scent. That’s about it. The last thing I expect the Queen to smell like.
Edit Aug8th2018: After trying it again on freshly moisturized (pure shea and cocoa butter) skin, I found that the powdery vanilla drydown is rather pleasant. However, that nice part doesn’t last slightly long enough to warrant more than 2/5 from me because the cherry/peach accord in the middle just makes everything too sour.

Sweet, heady, I get very strong tonka notes. This perfume reminds me of a holiday with the girls to a hot, humid, party destination. The air is thick and warm, you’ve spent a day at the beach, and you’re getting ready to go out clubbing – hopefully to seduce a tanned island boy. This really just screams summer nights to me. Not bad at all for a celebrity perfume!

  15. :

    5 out of 5

This is what I what I was expecting Jennifer Lopez Miami Glow to smell like (that one disappointed me). Winter? No, ma’am. This is summer to my nose, awfully hot summer nights. Sexy, sexy and more sexy. Did I say sexy enough? It’s what I imagine a body glitter wearing stripper would wear. It’s the perfume of a seductress. It says “Better hold on that man of yours, or else.”. Should I buy or shouldn’t I buy, I must confess that I’ve gotten snobbier by the day and I’m not that happy with celeb scents in my wardrobe anymore, (which is dumb, if it said YSL and it was $ 90 I’d probably jump on it, how silly)…we’ll see. Maybe I’ll just go for it. I’d wear this on the rare occasion when I go partying with just the girls, it’s a sexy clubbing perfume in my opinion.

This is a controversial polarizing fragrance! It is either you love it or hate it!
What is sure is that it is not the typical “commercially acceptable” celebrity fragrance!
DESCRIPTION: Heat is a warm spicy oriental perfume with notes of peach, almond, tonka bean, musk and sequoia wood.
This is what the woman who is having an affair with your husband smells like

This was a gift from a lovely generous friend.maybe I’d never buy it for myself because of so many negative reviews.good that I received it as a gift as I liked it so much that started to collect beyonce heat series and I love each one I have except the purple one(midnight heat I guess)
heat is aptly named.it mixes so well with my skin and creates a warm, sexy and grownup scent.usually I’m not a fan of peachy scents but here all notes mix so well,I can see almost all of the notes in it but none of them overpowers.I read in most reviews that people find it too fruity.well yes, peach is in the fore front and I also smell something redberry-ish sometimes but it’s not fruity in a girly, childish way or tropical way or a fresh, fruit juice way.peach is blended with lots of amber, musk and some orchid vanilla, which make it sweet and deep and give it an adult vibe so I don’t feel like I’m dealing with a fruity perfume.I can also smell almond and a hint of something woody.flowers stay almost unrecognizable in the background.I wished they were a bit more pronounced as I love honeysuckle and magnolia but not that it’s not good as it is.people who don’t like floral scents gonna love it.
some other reviews mention that it smells dirty.fortunately not on my skin.musk is not a clean, detergent like musk in heat but I don’t find it animalic and dirty either.on me heat opens loud and proud and delicious,a sultry, grownup kind of deliciousness and dries down to a warm and velvety scent which I find very inviting.
Honestly I don’t find it cheap smelling.I agree that it’s not the most unique perfume out there.it smells similar to My Burberry black on me,as if it’s patchouli is replaced by musk.but in this price point I don’t find anything similar that can beat heat.longevity passes 7 hours which is another plus.my husband who is not an fan of sugary sweet perfumes also likes it which surprised me.when I asked his idea he said that it’s delicious and attractive.I also like it’s bottle.the only downside is that now that I’ve used most of it and there’s about 20mils or so left in the bottle,it’s difficult to spray it.sometimes when I spray it,no liquid pumps out and there’s just air
Heat and orchid heat are my favorite beyonce perfumes right now.they’re totally different but I love them both.heat kissed is also beautiful.I wish I could try the yellow one and the one with pump but I can’t find them 🙁

I had a small bottle of this when it first came out, my Sons Father bought it for me as a gift. I wasn’t a die hard Beyoncé fan, so I was confused until I smelled it. Wow! Musky/floral/luscious/tasty/amber/YUM! Almost 10 years later, I said hey, why not get a full size now that its so inexpensive. My only complaint is the 3.3oz is hard to hold in one hand and spray, so it is a bit awkward however the bottle is very pretty. I always felt somewhat like I could taste this perfume in a way, I think its the almond and peach notes. I think the sequoia gives it a salivary quality as well, and is a wonderful wood smell. At the base you are left with a musky amber. It is a luscious fragrance I’ve always liked, and it seems to read the reviews a person either loves or hates it. I’ve always gotten compliments and my Husband loves it! Never would have tried it if my Sons Father wouldn’t have given it to me as a gift, so if you want something they guys will like, this may be it!

To me it smells like a valentines date night in a tropical place

When you where this everyone will notice you
    I realy love this scent

I really like the scent, its very different. Musky, sweet & it smells like berries to me but maybe thats how the peach is smelling to me. I think it smells great but it has the longevity of a body spray. Its sad, this would be a wonderful gem if it lasted.

I actually love this fragrance. It’s definitely one of my favorites. It’s sweet, warm, and dark smelling. I can imagine someone in their 20’s-30’s liking this more than a teenager would. I smell some vanilla, musk, and some spice in this perfume. It’s very pleasant.

Sweet, sour, smoky, woody, great for layering. The sweet note is dominant, along with creamy magnolia.

  25. :

Undeniably one of the worst fragrances I ever purchased. I’m not even trying to be overdramatic or comical but dear lord! Pure alcohol; intensely strong, eye-watering, one hundred per cent scent of alcohol is all I’ve ever gotten out of this. In fact, that’s all anyone I’ve ever had spray it on got. Maybe I have the curse of constantly getting a terrible batch. Yet try as I have over the years I’ve had it (gifted one year, purchased another), Heat just doesn’t work on me. Even layering it doesn’t help. I love me some Beyoncé but I’m going to have to look at her other perfumes because this spiteful joker just flat-out hates my skin.

Why all the hate for Heat?! I love this fragrance! And honestly nothing I have smells anything like this! It’s powerful, unlike Beyonce’s Heat Kissed, which I loved the smell of but the projection and longevity was really poor and that let me down. Heat is pretty timeless in my opinion, definitely stands out on it’s own for individuality. It is quite sweet but it’s definitely got more to it than that, I think the almond note makes it very interesting. Thumbs up Bey!

Its been a few years since i owned this and i had given it away only because i was fed up with the lack of longevity. Recently ive gotten a few others from the heat line but kept putting off replacing the origional because i felt that it just isnt worth replacing, despite actually loving the smell of it. Orchid, peach and almond are most prominent on me. They had a gift pack with 30ml edp, a shower gel and cream for 25 bucks so i thought ” What the hell” and grabbed it.
I still love it regardless of the scathing reveiws it gets
the opening reminded me of those peach flavoured zappo chew lollies we get in oz, then that dies down to a creamy almondy orchid with a slight woodiness. Yum.
Im so not regretting this one at all, i recently got heat ultimate elixir, and that is reeeaaallly amazing, but tbh i actually really like that strong sweet peach note in this one that most people hate. I dont care, i love this one

I have never disliked a perfume as much as I do this one. To me, it smells like that sawdust stuff that they use to clean up vomit in elementary school. I don’t know why I’m so repulsed by it, it’s unwearable to me. I know it wasn’t tainted or expired because I had other people smell it and they all thought it was fine.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I unapologetically love this. Scrolling through the long list of reviews was quite depressing, not many people have nice things to say about Heat, but I think it’s just a very good smell. People are saying it’s “generic” but I don’t see any mentioning of other fragrances that do this better or smell anything like this. I haven’t encountered anything similar. I don’t know enough about the notes to say what I can or can’t smell, but it does smell very warm to me. People likening it to a lava lamp have the right idea. Red lamp with yellow and orange lava. It doesn’t smell cheap to me at all, I think many of the reviews written mentioning this are influenced by the prices it goes for and the huge group of people who believe that impacts the quality of fragrance. Why can’t we enjoy fragrances regardless of the price tag? I’ve tried perfumes that cost over $100 that just didn’t wow me and fragrances for $10 that I thought were amazing.
I have a decant of this resting right next to my bottle of Tom Ford and I have no shame. When I finish that I’ll be buying a full bottle, and hopefully at the very reasonable price it goes for (less than $15 for any bottle of perfume is a steal in my book)

So how do you review these perfumes with such split love/hate clans? Well, you take a plunge and try one, then tip-toe through the others (if they have more fragrances to offer). I was initially afraid of the “Beyoncé celebrity” label, but after trying others (Nichole Richie, Queen Latifah, JS’ Fancy Nights, Adam Levine for her…ect) I discovered that “Celebrity scents” does not have to mean bad and can even be gorgeous (Fancy Nights and Queen Latifah for instance). So I took the plunge with Beyoncé by getting RISE, I found it marvelous and so then moved on to Midnight Heat due to the notes, with a bit less fear which turned out to be a prime move since I adore it (yet look at those extreme split reviews on that fragrance). I decided to give this one a go and am very happy to say it’s 3 homeruns (I’m not rich so every mistake matters)
I found this to be wonderfully warm and dark….just the way I like ’em. I can’t really find any candy and the Macaroons and Florals are very muted if there at all, which is a plus for me. I get huge amber, musk, Tonka and Sequoia. The last being subtle but as a bonsai fan and having a Patio Sequoia, I know the smell and it is there. As with all perfumes we love, longevity is a problem, as we want them to last for ever and it is true some are better than others in that dept. Beyoncé does have a slightly below average score on that issue, but it’s not a game killer. I still like Midnight Heat better as it’s plum/patch bomb is remarkable. This however is also quite a beautiful and sultry entry. With 3 hits under my belt, I may, considering the notes, try some of her other flankers. At least I feel a bit safer in the endeavor considering how nice this smells on me. Likewise I didn’t get any chemical or cheap smell with this fragrance as some mention.

  31. :

    5 out of 5

This is a very pretty perfume both in bottle and smell with a very reasonable price point it’s sexy without being crass perfect for a date where you want the person with you to think you smell good enough to eat, however as many of Beyoncé perfumes it doesn’t last 2-3 hrs and the sillage is not huge the bottle is the star in this I collect perfumes and the bottles are a huge part of my interest in them and the vintage flair in my favourite colour is a big hit with me

  32. :

    3 out of 5

Don’t let these reviews put you off trying this scent. On me it’s absolutely gorgeous and is one of the best perfumes I own that works perfectly with my body chemistry. On me, it is sweet, dark, smoky and creamy, slightly soapy. Hands down one of my favourite scents. Maybe this perfume is one of those that relies heavily on body chemistry. Just try it and see anyway.

  33. :

why does everyone think its a cheap smell
I think its unique delicious sweet and longlasting
very warm and very sweet crisp creamy vanilla
Its also sparkling and there,s a hint of velvet to the whole composition wich makes it elegant and unique
not that exotic loud type of fragrance
Its a feminine and elegant scent

  34. :

    5 out of 5

You always hear you get what you pay for and I think that holds very true for this scent.
Heat is a delicious fragrance with edible notes of peach, almond, & macaroons. If this were made with higher quality ingredients it would be wonderful. I don’t think I have ever smelled a perfume and thought “Oh! I love the composition, just wish it were better quality” but today I did. Beautiful scent but cheaply made ruining the entire thing.
You can pick this up for $12.99 at T.J. Maxx…. Not sure its worth it though.

Squirted myself with this whilst idly waiting for my prescription to be filled in the chemist-my excuse is I was bored.
Sickly sweet chemical berries rapidly followed by generic white floral. Horribly synthetic and unnatural. After about 2 hours I was left with a very powdery insipid musk. It’s a juvenile, non-challenging, non-complicated, non-layered, light, cheery sweety fruity floral. It’s dull and uninspired and very, very ordinary.

I am a Beyoncé fan and I really like this scent. However, this perfume doesn’t even a last a good 20 minutes on me. It’s definitely not a must have for my collection. If I really wanted it I would only buy super cheap (like under $10) otherwise it’s like throwing money away

  38. :

    5 out of 5

I’m sorry but what a disgusting cheap artificial smell. It’s just so bad. I don’t detect any of the pleasurable notes it claims to have. I remember smelling this awful Britney Spears inspired(knock off) fragrance at big Lots. That is what this is a chemical big Lots fragrance. Even though it was only $13 that’s still a huge waste of money. I couldn’t even finish it. Felt it was even too awful to give away to someone. I will not be trying any other Beyonce perfumes unless it’s free samples that’s for sure. This was a regretful blind buy. Rarely do fragrances or smells of any kind make me ill or cause a headache.

  39. :

I really like the middle and base of this perfume, but can’t take the sticky peach top note.
Does anyone know of a scent that would smell like that?

  40. :

    5 out of 5

When I was buying Heat, I researched into it before and the description said “almonds and vanilla wrapped around musk”. So I was expecting some unique and sexy scent from this fragrance but it smells like a generic, floral, fruity scent. So I was a tad dissapointed, but it is still a good smelling perfume but not what I thought it would smell like because of false advertising.

  41. :

Quite nice. Warm sugared peach dominates with a helping of amber to round it off and take it out of candyland. Barely. I hated the Wild Orchid flanker, I can tell that this is what it was based on, but this is infinitely more tolerable. I have a feeling that this fragrance might make me nauseous if I were to wear it a whole day though.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I bought it for my mother-in-law and it really was perfect on her. I really loved it smell and its creaminess.
It’s a thumps up for a celebrity perfume.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

I am giving Heat a “like” rather than “love” because I don’t smell the almonds as much as I was expecting. I happen to adore the scent of sweet almonds, so this was a little disappointing.
However, the peach/amber accord, which is quite dominant, is interesting. It’s sort of like Elizabeth Taylor’s Black Pearls, but with less of a “peach brandy” scent than that of a mulled peach wine. It is just this side of cloying, which is fine with me because I prefer strong perfumes.
The name “Heat” is quite apt, as this is a “warm” scent, which gains strength in warm/humid weather.
Longevity is on the high end of moderate, while sillage is a bit less, but noticeable.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I only picked this up due to price being on sale. No way would I pay for these what the designer frags are at.
Just sprayed on an autumn evening post shower. No comment on longevity yet, but if the others in this range are anything to go by it will be just a couple of hours maybe.
This one I can smell at an arms length away… dying down though.
It has the tang of fruit like Armani Si without the depth in the notes.
Could pass as a dupe for si … maybe…. if these celeb scents do well on your skin.
Warm, fruit tang- maybe like nectarine ?? I don’t know the lower three accords on their own to I’d them in here, I suspect they might be giving the fruity uppers a bit of a base, they don’t seem so thIn so to speak.
If you’re on a budget then by all means have a try. There are several of these celeb scents that can pass generally for more expensive brands.
Why not if they smell great!

I used to really dislike this fragrance when It first came out back in the day, My mind has changed since then. I found a big bottle of this at ross for like 13 dollars so I got it and it still smelt like I remember it did. I feel like it doesn’t last too long I mean it wears for about 3 hours on me but When I do smell it I like it. Its really musky on me not so much sweet. The bottle is pretty as well.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

Offensive, rude perfume. It’s offensive to and on me. I can’t believe it. It reminds me of being cramped in a small office with a massive headache being forced to inhale cheap, synthetic smell all day. I feel with this fragrance, it smells like heat…I mean the annoying, blaring heat, the heat that hits your eyes before your can look away, nauseating heat. It really isn’t empowering, very 90s vibe, smells like a cheap replica of itself, ha. Perfume is so bad smelling, it smells like replica of itself. It’s just tacky. I don’t think Beyonce invested anything into it. The marketing around Heat and commercial is grossly overrated. You can find an unbranded, generic perfume at Family dollar that smells identical to this. The grotesque of this perfume is haunting, it’s been years since I tried it and it still haunts me how bad it is….Very fake smelling, synthetic, over floral. Yuck.

OMG I am shocked because of many bad reviews!! Beyonce Heat for me is one of the most amazing perfumes, georgeous sweet scent!! People always compliment me that I smell great when I wear Beyonce Heat :)))

  48. :

I love some Beyoncé, but oh my, I had to get out the kitchen, cuz I just couldn’t stand the Heat! (corny, I know.) This stuff is awful on me. Smells cheap, synthetic & that heavy peach & Amber combo just go completely wrong for me. It’s absolutely too sweet and cloying on me. Even if a perfume isn’t a love or strong like, I will generally use it up anyway. This was one of the very few where I just had to full on “nope”. For me, it’s akin to wearing warm tones, like bright orange or yellow, when you are 100% a cool tones person, who should be wearing teal, fuschia or purple! Someone who just cannot pull off those orangey tropical colors. That basically sums up my experience with Heat. I tried it about 3x, but eventually had to just accept the fact that it didn’t like me, gave me a headache, and even made me nauseous. I eventually threw it out. Heresy, I know. I tried my best.

I traded the Elizabeth Arden Mediterraenean for this. A lot of people here say Heat is nothing special but at least compared to Mediterranean, Heat smells pleasant. The fruits and flowers work beautifully together and not try to outdo each other. While I know that’s nothing special, that didn’t quite happen with Mediterranean. Heat’s dry-off reminds me of White Musk, except Heat has an interesting fruity-floral layer on top of it. It’s just a nice, everyday scent to wear.

I’m usually very careful when reviewing a fragrance I don’t like. Because we all know there’s nothing more personal than a perfume. So if you like it, keep on wearing it. But to me, this is the smell of a cheap grocery store perfume. Some people will agree on this by saying it makes sense cause that’s exactly what it is. But even in this price range, there are better perfumes. So if you have even the slightest doubt, save up your money and buy a more expensive but well made fragrance. Or go to Zara, where you can find even cheaper perfumes with a higher quality than this one. That’s my opinion without wanting to offend anyone.

Nope. Because I love Beyonce, I was hoping her perfume would be strong and beautiful, like the singer herself. But instead (at least on my skin), it’s simply nauseatingly, sweet and saccharine, with an underlying layer of weird sweatiness (maybe the musk?). It smelled horrid on me. It was sweet in all the wrong ways, not in a gourmand, creamy way. I felt like I just swam in a pool of artificial red fruit punch, then ran a marathon without deodorant. Sorry Bey, but it’s a no from me. 🙁

Beyonce Heat was recommended to me by my guy friend who is a HUGE Queen B fan. His sister had this perfume and he said it smelled incredible. He had already gotten me the Beyonce Wild Orchid and the Heat Rush which is an all time fav. So, I gave this one a go. It is BEAUTIFUL. It is seductive, sexy, and stunning. If I could describe it in two words: Red Wine (& an expensive one at that). It makes me feel independent and fierce just like the Queen herself. Perfect for all ages (maybe not 14 and below though). It is my staple fall perfume now.

I was given a gift set of 4 10ml vials of the Beyonce fragrances and I have to admit I was sceptical. I usually find all celebrity scents smell the same to me – there’s an underlying sweet synthetic scent that I can’t get past. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It’s much less girlie and fruity than I was expecting, and more like the gourmand perfumes that I would buy for myself – it reminds me in some ways of Hypnotic Poision by Dior. Perhaps it’s the vanillary creamy notes.

Someone I know received this as a christmas present and didn’t like it, so they gave it to me in trade for one of my least used scents in my collection. I was quite shocked when I first smelt this because to me it doesn’t quite capture Beyonce’s image. What I mean by this is that it smells extremely mature, something that women in their late 30’s-early 40’s would wear. I have smelt this on many middle aged women and it suits them the most. The disappointing thing is that Beyonce’s fan base is pretty much all ages, and to have a scent this mature is kind of a bummer for those expecting something that they’d expect Beyoncè would wear. For my opinion, I do quite enjoy wearing Heat. If I am ever feeling a bit mature and going out to some fancy restaurant, Heat would be something i’d go for. Definitely for nighttime wear, but feel free to wear it during a hot day too. I swear I could smell some sort of plum note in it, because I get that similar sharp smell in Katy Perry’s ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘LouLou’, however I assume that is the peach and amber notes mixed together.
I rate this a 7/10. I am more of a sweet vanilla/candy loving perfume buyer, however this perfume was definitely a pass for me. When I first started getting into the fragrance world I did start off with mature scents so maybe that is why I love this one so much. My suggestion if you didn’t like heat is to test out ‘Heat Rush’ and ‘Heat Wild Orchid’, which are both also endorsed by Beyoncè. Not only are they both on the more sweeter, youthful side, but they are much softer compared to this one which I noticed some people did complain about how strong Heat is. The packaging however is a better representation of Beyoncè rather than the scent itself, very powerful imagery and pure sexiness.

The other day while out grocery shopping I of course had to go check out the clearance section of xmas stuff and there was a gift set of three Beyonce fragrances, this one, the orange one and whatever the purple one is. They were 30mls bottles and it was only $8.99 so I thought why not its super cheap! Well I pretty well threw ny 10 bucks down the drain, we’ll not really because I do like one of them. It’s definitely not this one though! OMG this smells terrible. I thought that it would be nice judging by the notes but OMG this is just putrid! I can’t even explain what it smells like other than to say it smells like cheap 90s perfume that no one liked. So gross

Heat is mostly peach and musk to me. Funny how the reviews on here are so mixed… I read on this page that it is a teen scent, an old lady scent, very sweet, short lasting, manly and like a mix of other scents.
My opinion is different from all those. I get a blast of fruits in the opening. As it dries down I still smell a dominant peach note, but it also gets very musky. While I’m not a musk lover in general, I thi
