Really excellent, a consistent favorite. Orange and herbs, a combination that one might be skeptical of but it truly delivers, demanding many rewears.

No one likes this cologne on me. No surprise. Far from a light orangy scent; a very heavy smell which won’t last too long, though.

Very interesting hyper-bitter basil and greenery scent with a hint of bitter orange. Has a very cool minty quality to itas well. Would be great for summers. It smells very similar to Proraso Azur Lime cologne which is a cheaper alternative to this with lime instead of orange. Sillage is moderate while longevity is pretty good for a fresh fragrance. However it is a bit too bitter for my liking.

pure and simple lemon, orange and maybe a little patchouli
The kind of fragrance that has very few notes, smells natural and almost herbal. I keep thinking green here, but it does not smell green, odd.
It smells quality, but I do not get any of the natural sweetness of oranges or anything to round out the fragrance, which makes this almost seem a dry fragrance to me.
I would not recommend this to younger people or those who love full, deep or rich fragrances. I get 3 to 5 hours out of this and poor projection and sillage
I think Versace Fraîche,Terre d’hermes Très fraîche, Le labo bergamote 22 are better
I personally enjoy aqua di gio essenza and Zegna mediterranean Neroli

To me, like to many others, Concentré d’Orange Verte might just be the ultimate summer cologne. It’s a straightforward, winning concept: just pure, zesty bitter orange on a subtly herbal background. Perfect in its simplicity, and a real delight on a hot day like today! It even greatly improved my mood on this long, tired, sweaty day at work, and that’s saying something. Also, it performs remarkably well for a cologne: it stays clearly present for most of the day, which is a rare thing for such an obvious summer scent. And it’s so natural that in my opinion it can’t be seen as anything else than perfectly unisex. A keeper! I wonder how the Eau compares…

To me this nothing like orange nor grapefruits.. Its straight lime or lemon leaves..not the fruit ..just the leaves.. Bitter ..sharp .. Aromatic ..inhale able.. Bath of margaritas
The longer it stays the better it gets.. Love it ..long lasting .. Not sure if others could smell it never got a comment ..but I could smell it on me all day much more than other perfumes.. CLEAN perfect…bitter citrus perfect perfume

Though I have my cozy moments, it’s pretty much summer in my mind’s eye all year long. Some of that is climate related, but mainly it’s my own outlook. Hermès Concentré d’Orange Vert (2004) supports this vision, but with incomparable European quality. It calls to mind the Côte d’Azur in high season with it’s endlessly deep orange liquor heart laced with an equally bottomless and lasting basil note infused with all the characteristics of the herb from crushed, green pesto to tarry, black anise seed. All of this seems to lie fixed on a sunny mat of cedar, patchouli, and amber, taking the sum total effect to the highest peak of summertime euphoria and holding it there indefinitely. Delightful and authentic in every way, this is my endless summer fragrance and vote for best of the best of Hermès alongside Terre d’Hermès and its earthy, burnt-orange addictiveness.

This review is based off sampling in the store and wearing D’Orange Verte Concentrate for about 3 hours. My initial impression is this is a big orange, soapy burst. Around the 2 hour mark, the amber accord and patchouli break through.
I like it a lot, but I’m on the fence about buying a full bottle. It’s a cool spring day, so I will test this again when the weather gets warmer.

Just simply outclasses nearly every other orange-centric fragrance ever, in my opinion. So much so that, as a female devotee, reading the comments below about it being “not right” on a woman made me feel personally slighted and a little punchy!
This is the big leagues. Truly a masterpiece. It has the real sharp zesty smack of bitter orange oil, the herbal/peppery edge of orange leaf, the freshness ofthe fruit’s juice, the warm spicy woodiness of the orange tree itself, and that bewitching sweetness which evokes orange blossom. A passionate love from the very first time I sniffed it (and I am happy to admit that Terre d’Hermes is way too butch to work on me, and I also agree that Concentre would be sheer perfection if only it lasted longer, so I am not an all-out fangirl unable to see any fault in the house or this scent.)
What to say about it, that wouldn’t be dull and obvious? Yeah, yeah, timeless classic, true unisex, unarguable quality, fine control of fine ingredients, all of that. But none of that does it justice. I’m not worthy! The best I can do is: this astonishing formula will take you on a glorious walk through a sun-dappled orange grove, wherever and whoever you are. Just try it. It is *wonderful*.
The only things even fit to come near it that I’ve tried are Bigarade Concentre (which does have better longevity, but is vastly more expensive), Noir Epices (which is much more macho and spicier, as well as pricier) and Shay&Blue Blood Orange, which has a wetter juicier feel but none of the wood or warmth, and no more longevity either). So I will concentrate on Concentre for as long as Hermes keep making it. And you should too.

I’m not going to add anything to the other eloquent reviews here. They have said it all. Fresh, summer or when you need a cold weather lift of spirits, male or female, the concentre lasts much longer. I just wanted to add that if you like bitter green orange fragrances like this you must not miss Nest Paradise or Atelier Orange. Two of my other favorites to mix up my citrus collection and preserve each juice to enjoy a bit longer.

This was my first Hermès and my first serious perfume purchase and it was love at first smell. Simply put this is THE summer fragrance by excellence !
The name conjures up the idea of something simple yet exquisite. A beautiful stroll through an unripe orange grove in the cool shade of the lush green fragrant orange leaves by a warm summer day.
As for the fragrance in itself, it opens up with a blast of electrifying zingy green citrus that feels like a cheerful blast in your face, a whack of optimism to shake you out of the humid torpor of a searing hot summer day ! It is followed by a mild minty coolness that eventually dries down to a very very delicate powdery black currant bud note. Very soft and distant. As you can imagine this perfume, which is really a cologne, performs very poorly in terms of longevity (basically gone after 1H) and sillage (dare I say nonexistent). But none of that matters because this is made to lovingly overindulge and splash, splash, splash and keep on splashing !
Unpretentious yet chic, cheerful yet sleek and elegant as you would expect from Hermes, this classic cologne will suit any person of any age and is guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. Note that this mood lifting quality also works in winter so don’t hesitate to take a whiff during the grey days of the cold season.
To sum up, Concentré d’Orange Verte is the smell of happiness.

This one unsettles me. The notes are fantastic, but I’m struggling with the combination. Gorgeous zesty orange that I want to bathe in! Scraped rind with juice and pulp! Unfortunately, there’s a pesky dominant herbal mix interfering! Either alone would be great, but together there’s a strange bitterness that makes my nose itch and want to separate the two. Like conjoined twins that hate each other.
And then the orange disappears. But by then, the basil/herb/amber accord has morphed into a pale powdery ghost. Not the original fresh just-clipped herbs that opened. Might be my skin. Hermes is one of my favorite houses – love Rocabar, Rose Ikebana, Caleche and more. But I’ve had problems with other scents like Un Jardin Sur Le Nil that doesn’t smell on me like it does on others. Jean Guichard has made some legendary scents, Cacharel’s Eden and LouLou, Calvin Klein’s Obsession. So, I am leaning towards how my body chemistry reacts. Will have to try this one again when the weather warms!
    Darn!

Of the Hermes Orange bunch, this feels to be in the middle. Wet fresh and strong orange notes, bit of greens and light woods and patchouli(?) for spice/earthiness.
And though it resembles cologne/verte, it is more dense, and minty. Most of all !!!!!!!! This lasts much longer.
On me, the cologne/verte holds only around 1 – 2 hours, where as this would stay for 6+ hours.
If you like that Hermes Orange – without the woody flinty burnt scent of Terre de Hermes – I recommend this over the standard cologne/verte.

I know I reviewed this one about 8 or 9 years ago when I discovered fragrantica. I remember buying this in duty free somewhere and it was my very first Hermès. Since then I went through hundreds of perfumes, yet the other day when I came face to face with this perfume I just had to buy it…. for old times sake’s I guess.
    It’s beautiful.
Unisex but perfectly suitable for a woman with a strong spirit.
Bitter orange that manages not to be sour nor too peel zesty , mixed with garden mint and some sage for sweetness . I don’t smell lemon or citron at all. It’s definitely bitter green orange. Green , fresh, oozing with humidity and life like the rain forest, it’s longer lasting than most citrus scents I know. The frosty green bottle is a perfect match . The Patchouli is not strong at all, and that is good because I’m very particular when it comes to patch. After a while there seems to be a hint of rose, like young buds that are barely open. It feels invigorating.
Wonderful and not as simplistic as it seems. Silage is average, lasting power on clothes pretty good for a citrus, on skin you’re left just with clean freshness.
Recommended to people who like fresh , green and lively scents. Perfect in its genre.

This is a staple in my collection as one of my very favorite freshies.
I am really enjoying it on this balmy warm early Autumn day.
It is very sour tart orange, not like the sweet juice, but more like the orange peel with some lime added.
So it’s very effervescent, and great performance for a fresh fragrance. It’s like some Atelier Cologne frags, like Orange Sanguine.
The special thing that I like about this are the green notes, the dark green color of the bottle perfectly suits the dark leafy green foliage. So this is very unique and a fragrance of contrasts, that always makes a fragrance most satisfying for me.

Quite a pleasant citrus-orange minty green herbal spray that lasts for about 30 minutes before turning into a long lasting skin scent. I have a 15ml mini of this that I got in a gift set along with TDH as well as a couple of other Hermes fragrances. This is not a sexy fragrance in the least and is completely androgynous/unisex imo. However, this is not something that I personally enjoy “wearing” as part of my “outfit” for the day. This is much more of an aromatherapy, herbal soothing scent than it is a personal fragrance I think.
I do like spraying this one on from time to time however as it smells pleasant, is relaxing, helps concentration, lucid dreaming, etc. It somehow has a very ancient tribal age of aquarius Pleiades spiritual feel. If you’re looking for a Hermes to wear out in real life, go for TDH. This one is appropriate for aforementioned spiritual types, maybe festival goers, hippies, etc. I’m joking. But it does smell nice, check it out of you’re looking for a minty aromatic zesty orange fragrance.

100% summer fragrance, 100% Hermès, 100% timeless. I had it 25 years ago as a teenager and it smells just as good. It’s kind of strange because I don’t consider this to be a “perfume”, and I don’t buy it for the same purpose as I do with other perfumes. It’s mostly the smell of orange to me. I can hardly detect other notes apart from basil. But that does not mean it’s a bad thing. Orange and other citrusy essential oils are well known for their calming and relaxing properties. That’s exactly how I feel after applying this: relaxed. And refreshed. It’s a must for anyone who likes orange and a must have for anyone who wants to discover great Hermes classics.

This is not a full review but some thoughts. This Hermes is an uplifting citrusy, fresh spicy scent with better longevity than the other hermes I tried and with a nice calmly warmness from the summery amber. Orange, little earth, soft and smooth amber, a velvety scent. It has some similarities with Eau de Mandarine Ambrée Hermes and Atlantica Odyssey Dilis which I love both. Moderate performance but above average. A wonderful day time scent suitable for spring and summer. Totally unisex.

This scent reminds me of Au The Vert Bvlgari sans the tea note.
This scent is gorgeous and on me, very longlasting at 8 hours plus.

This stuff smells like rich, luxurious and expensive orange.
The name is perfect for this fragrance… if you can get a bottle of this stuff for a good deal like I did, you are really getting a steal. Expensive, niche orange scent. Can’t go wrong. This is blind buy safe imo. This is not as good as Xerjoff Nio but it is up there in the same realm and much less expensive… although the presentation on Nio is one of the best I have ever seen.
Thank you, Hermes! I will purchase more.

Nice fresh citus/orange opening that takes on the “vert” characteristics between 30 to 45 minutes after application. I then got a “corn chip” vibe which I also smelled in Dior’s Granville. After about 6 hours, this changed entirely on my skin. It became a strange odor that smelled like deodorant applied to cover body odor. I’m at 12.5 hours after application now, and it still smells like B.O. I’ll try wearing it again sometime soon, but I sure don’t like my experience with the dry down so far.

Had to try this as I’m always a sucker for a good citrus centric scent. The opening to me smells more of lemon verbena than orange and it sticks around a respectable amount of time. The other notes I detect are the amber and the patchouli which in the dry down remind me of another Hermes creation – Voyage. Very nice. Enough so it may someday soon grace my perfume shelves.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

I love the initial burst of citrus fruits – lemons, oranges, limes! I also detect mint, almond, basil, patchouli and pine. I wish it would never end.
It dries down to a well-balanced scent I want to keep smelling. It smells clean and refreshing, but also very, very sexy! This is so likable.
    This is an attractor fragrance!

  27. :

    3 out of 5

A gorgeous composition with its few but very well chosen components. I smell a perfect equity of the sourness of orange and the woody cedar. Their duo is emphasised by the spicy green note of basil.
A really fresh fragrance with great silage and longevity!
And I love the bottle with its deep green opacity and the softness of the glass.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Reminds me of Eau Sauvage but with the citrus toned down and the green, basil herbal edge boosted way up. Slightly earthy. It smells like you’re in an herb garden on a cool spring day.
Not bad but don’t love it either. Lasts about 4, 5 hours for me.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

For the 1st 5 Minutes, you feel like getting drenched in Summer Rain, below A Lemon Tree.
For it’s next lifecycle, it is earthy bitter green.
The 1st few minutes are magic. I feel more lemon verbena than Orange, though Orange is no doubt present. The verbena note lifts up very soon, keeping the Orange note, which starts getting bitter, like over squeezing an orange. A green note starts showing up, which remains till the end, becoming drier and drier with time. The base is built up of strong cedar, which is the most persisting player (beside the green note) in Concentre d’Orange Verte.
Overall, it absolutely justifies its name. and like all Hermes it remains simple, aesthetic and unique.
My only disappointment is, it absolutely does not projects well after one or one and a half hours.
Sillage: Soft (As mentioned does not projects well after 1 Hour)
Longevity on My Skin: Approx 5 Hours (quite good as a cologne)
Longevity on Fabric: Approx 6 Hours
Occasion: Quite Versatile. One of my favorite for daily Office wear in humid summer days. This perfume grows more with sweat. You may wear it on Casual Affairs also. Not for Formal Occasions or Romantic Dates.
    Rating: 7.5/10
P.S: This Review is for the Cologne version of Concentre d’Orange Verte.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

The best classical citrus along Eau de Guerlain (I exlude Eau Sauvage and Mugler Cologne since there entirely different continents on their own, also some colognes of the classic form).
Concentré goes immediately for an energizing bitter green blast paired with a very strong herbal/vegetal accord. The whole effect gives an extremely vivid green sensation, orange peel meets fresh grass, totally crisp with an earthy edge. Then the scent delves deeper in a more calming ambery territory, warm and comforting but remains fresh and elegant all the way.
Citrus fragrances are the quintessence of refreshment. Many of them however tend to either smell like kitchen cleaners or are so simplistic that one finds difficult to enjoy. There are cases though that they are done right and manage to grant you a long-lasting, distinctive classiness that is hard to beat. Concentré d’Orange Verte is one of them, a flavedo fresh masterpiece full of character.

Another gorgeous Hermes perfume. Straight away on spraying, there’s a sense of how fresh and lovely this is. You get the orange and lemon smell you expect but there’s also a brief moment of almond/amaretto for the first twenty minutes or so as well. Just occasionally you might get a whiff of that amaretto/almond note when you smell your skin. It’s not a surprise to say that it is similar to the Eau D’Orange Verte but this concentre version brings out the verte and not just the orange whereas the original cologne is all about the orange. No complaints either way, just an observation. If you like one, you’ll almost certainly like the other.
The basil and the cedar work together beautifully with the orange/lemon top notes and give it a depth that the Eau D’Orange Verte lacks. Think of it as the difference between holding the fruit up to your nose and smelling it and being in the orchard with the fruit still on the trees. The fruit is the dominant smell but the green notes are around it in the breeze.
It’s a beautiful piece of craftmanship. I think it’s suitable for any time of day or year or occasion. It is a soft scent and the projection is limited but it lasts a lot longer than a lot of the reviewers suggest. I sometimes wonder if the people who think it’s gone after 45 minutes are spraying it from 100 yards away! You can just get 7 hours out of it altogether but it is a skin scent after three or four hours.
Concentre D’Orange Verte is lovely and refreshing and one of those scents that just make you feel better. It has that restorative quality that a well made citrus cologne should possess. I could also imagine using it with Terre D’Hermes, adding a little spray over it. I think this cologne has a certain flexibility that means it could be used with other citrus scents or ones with an earthy quality about them.

I love Hermes colognes, Eau d’Orange Vert was my first, and it became the standard by which I measured every other fragrance of this type. It took me some time to add Concentre d’Orange Vert to my collection, I’d read many reviews which said it was so similar to EOV that if you had one you didn’t need the other. I find them to be similar only in the sense that they are the same type of fragrance. Concentre smells quite different on me, greener, and less orange. It’s a sharper citrus at first, bitter in the very best way, then mellows just a bit, allowing tiny sparks of something sweeter (the amber maybe?) to pop up under the citrus. The longevity is surprisingly good, I’ve been wearing it 6 hours now, and am still getting a noticeable scent. Sillage is moderate. It’s a pleasure to have it in my collection.

Nice classy citrus summer scent. Longevity however is poor.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Fresh dark green, herbaceous, earthy. Classic and classy chypre. I don’t get much orange in this. The patchouli in the base grounds the scent and makes it last well. Totally unisex. Everyone who has smelled this fragrance seems to like it and comments favorably. If you like green scents, this is a “must” for your collection. Beware when buying online that shipping clerks often confuse this Concentre version with the regular Eau d’ Orange Verte which is a completely different fragrance, resulting in lots of logistical hassles to straighten out your order.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

To my nose, this is the whole orange tree and the surrounding orchard air in a bottle. Very uplifting fragrance that whenever I spray, I could almost hear the birds in the orange orchard chirping. Together with Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, this is a summer favorite for as long as I can remember (10 years?). I never get tired of this and always garner compliments esp. from people who doesn’t like very strong/oriental perfumes. A staple in my collection.

  37. :

It’s VERY orange, VERY herbal, a little earthy, VERY beautiful. If I didn’t have Eau Sauvage which does this with lemons and is…a little bolder, I would purchase this immediately.

  38. :

A fun explosion of citrus and spices greets you at the first spray. Such zest in the citrus that you could very well be peeling a fresh, ripe orange at this very moment. There is nothing synthetic about it at all.
A very unique scent, certainly won’t be forgotten easily. Not suitable for the average female. You need a really whimsical and free-spirited character to wear this well, or to like it at all. Possibly a wild streak, together with that independent stubbornness.
I wouldn’t claim that this isn’t feminine at all. Sure, it works for guys too. But on a girl, now, that is something memorable. I suppose that Amélie Poulain might like it. Cheerful, quirky and lots of fun. Love it.

Pocas fragancias pueden percibirse como maduras y ser dominantemente cítricas, es un placer llevar puesta Orange Verte Hermés, huele como las hojas de una naranjo al ser partidas.

Concentre d’orange verte smells just like freshly sliced oranges and it seems to be a mood lifter too. Great scent, so pleasant and quite longlasting on my skin.
Same vibe as Ruban L’occitane’s that I really loved, especially in the dry down.

80’s. At opening you can feel what is coming. A green, very acidic and woody fragrance, very manly, odd. Not my cup of tea, but has character.

  44. :

I don’t know why they made the original more flowery…I don’t know if it’s really more concentrated at all. The first few minutes are glorious, realistic citrus fruit, but then it devolves into stale orange blossom residue which I can only smell if I overspray (though I’d hesitate to even use the word “overspray” with this one since it’s so light). I gave it to my friend and she used about 5 mL one day as a room+linen spray all over her bedroom, but I couldn’t smell it when I visited her place the next day.

This is…. One of the greatest citruses I ever smelled.
I mean… An “herbal” orange, just that, nothing more. Simplicity at its finest.
    The name doesn’t lie :
Concentré > Concentrate > Yes, very strong, but not awful, not loud… Just enough strong to smell it without to be disturbed.
Orange > Orange… ORANGE ! That pure orange, that strong orange, but delicate too. A juicy one, full of sun. Yummy.
Verte > Yes, green. A green background, just behind the orange, without it, the orange would be boring, classic, I think. Calm, quiet, but present, just for the orange to be brought to arm, very well blended to make a greeny/spicy orange, a very special orange juice cocktail.
Honestly, I thought citruses ones would be too acid, too boring, too generic, but no. This one is yummy, gourmand, green and orange, sweet, refreshing and strong but delicate. Perfect, just perfect.

What else do u need to say when its a HERMES !!!! My first purchase of Hermes frag was Rocabar, I still use it thou it’s from the early 80’s…TIMELESS. last year I purchased Terre d’Hermes Hermes for men, a real spicy, fresh and cozy fragrance which is one of my signature frag now.
Concentre d’ Orange Verte is also another MASTERPIECE which is best during the summer/fall days. The first time I sprayed it on my skin it was a rush of Orange/citrus scent which stays on that way over several hours. The aroma stimulates your senses and re energizes you becoming very up beat.
After the aroma of Orange settles ever so slightly then you are able to smell amber with a touch of patchouli.
This frag has a tremendous base of both basil and cedar combined with the top notes makes it a really impressive fragrance.
Longevity is NUMERO UNO…FIVE STAR, well past 10 hours.
Sillage is superb, you can smell it more then 5ft away without it being heavy.
Overall, there’s nothing else you can say about a top-notch fragrance which both sex’s use it and find it a gem. This fragrance is worth every ounce, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another bottle.
I leave you with a question; How could you ever get tired or bored of this fragrance?
My response is Forza Concentre d’Orange Verte…LIVE FOR EVER…10/10

A great scent, fresh and masculine! Hermes never disappoints, you could buy this as a gift for your guy and I doubt that he would not like it.

Great orange based fragrance. It’s like standing in the middle of an orange grove. You get the bitter orange smell of the orange peel with a tiny bit of sweetness, the leafy smell from the tree, and the earthy and wood elements from the tree itself. Outstanding fragrance.

Concentre d’Orange Verte by Hermes is a great fragrance if crisp, orange scents are your thing. Luckily this fragrance can be shared between the sexes. It’s fairly androgynous in its approach, and is neither too sweet nor too sharp.
I am surprised to discover that Concentre d’Orange Verte is in fact an EDT, not an EDC as I had previously thought it to be. It wears very much like a citrus cologne splash; watery, refreshing and crisp.
I have quite a fondness for realistic, juicy orange based fragrances. For some time I have enjoyed wearing L’Occitane’s Ruban d’Orange during Summer, however since its discontinuation I have been searching for its replacement. Concentre d’Orange Verte certainly comes close.
It’s the kind of fragrance I would reach for on a hot and humid afternoon. Concentre d’Orange Verte opens with a refreshing burst of citrusy orange, which is quickly followed by a subtle hint of green basil and clean cedar.
On my skin, the patchouli is barely evident. I wouldn’t describe this fragrance as having any earthy or musty accords. It’s fresh from beginning to end, and rather simplistic in this manner.
The longevity is fairly average for that of an EDT, and the sillage can vary from barely noticeable to moderately light. I probably wouldn’t pay full price for Concentre d’Orange Verte, but I would like to add it to my collection at some point.

This is my signature perfume, although I didn’t use it for a while now because it makes me feel a bit down when I wear it – the complete opposite to what I used to feel when I started using it.
This fragrance is best worn on warm summer nights (Israeli summer nights are humid, hot and sticky and Concentre d`Orange Verte is better than air-conditioning for cooling down). The problem with this fragrance is that it’s too strong when you apply it (almost like peeling an orange and getting it’s juice in your eyes) and after the strong smell is gone (after 5 min) the rest fades away very quick, mostly after 20 minutes on my skin. but those 20 minutes are beautiful, very elegant. it reminds me of old airports in the 80s and I love it. I still don’t really understand why I feel so low when I’m wearing it lately, maybe it has something to do with the fact that it’s very bitter, or because I have bad memories from the time I used my first bottle of Concentre d`Orange Verte.

This is so beautiful! Starts with a sharp citrussy orange and cedar in the background. Patchouli develops next, still fresh, edgy, energetic, mixed with fading citrussy scent. As the citrus fades, the perfume gets mellow, sumptuous, almost musky.
Finding orange verte concentre closes my search for midday pick me up perfume, something to refresh me and wake me up in a busy day. I love layering it over my more complicated perfumes I sprayed in the morning and by the midday they either wore off or I got used to them…

A linear citrus fragrance. Elegant, but very strong! Lemon 3+ cedar 3+ patchouli 2+

So much better than eau d’Orange verte, not just in longevity but in it’s entire composition. It smells just so much more natural. I also like eau too, but I can sometimes find it a little cloying. Concentre on first application is like the incredib
