Description

Dior’s fragrant poison in irresistible red flacon also has incredible popularity even among younger generations. Its seductive softness attracts attention with a sexy blend of flowers, spices and gourmet aromas, among which are those that tingle your imagination – liquorice, coconut, almonds and vanilla. This is also one of the compositions that made a revolution in the world of perfumery. During years it has been offered in several different ways and in different concentrations. The latest edition signed by perfumer Francois Demachy, perfumer of Dior, depicts the devilish side of the perfume with an oriental composition enriched with sambac jasmine absolute with its icy-animalistic nuances.

Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum is extremely natural and draws its power and strength from carefully selected raw materials absolutes. “Hypnotic Poison plays with absolutes, their natural aromas and depths.” – says Francois Demachy. Composition of the perfume provides seductive aromas of sambac jasmine absolute combined with orange blossom absolute warmed and surrounded by resin-like hot notes of tonka and delicate vanilla. Gourmet, seductive face is additionally accentuated by liquorice which is one the key ingredients of the entire Hypnotic Poison line.

The characteristic flacon shaped like candied apple with dark layers of melted lava is most similar by shape and combination of shades to the perfume extract of fragrance Hypnotic Poison. The bottle was created by masters glass-makers Saint-Gobain. Neck of the bottle is decorated with a black ribbon with CD seal and the flacon is crowned with a black stopper that accentuates the darker (witch’s) side of the composition. It has been available since January 2014 as 50 ml Eau de Parfum and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

    This.
This is where it’s at. I tried this in David jones today because i have the edt in the newest formulation and its nice yes, but this is devine. I had to test before blindly buying as its too expensive for a failed purchase.
I was actually nervous about trying it as so many reviews say its really sweet and heavy on the liquorice, but on my skin its the opposite, Maybe it just depends on chemistry.
At first spray i couldn’t even really decipher anything in particular, it was just like a sweeter stronger version of the edt, but like many others that have reviewed this one; i let it sit for abot 5-7 minutes and once it dried, it bloomed into something amazing.
The sambac jasmine is very smokey and incensy, mixed with the powdery sweetness of almond, a little nutty with the tonka bean and..a dark chocolate note? maybe thats how the liquorice presents itself here ( don’t care much for liquorice in perfume but HP seems to execute it quite tastefully)
Its heavy, quite strong and if oversprayed could be stuffy and cloying, but a small amount will go along way so even a small bottle would last ages.
This is almost as if theyve removed all the fruity notes of the edt intensified the warmer base notes x100; as someone else has described: a stripped down version of the original
Its almost as if the edt is a nice bubbly happy girl wearing a satin blouse and pastel pink lipstick, and then at night she becomes the edp; a seductive temptress wearing vermillion lipstick and black leather, she is the darker, more intense version.
If you’re in the market for a HP, and want the more fruity, vanillery, aniseedy scent then go for the edt. If you want less sweetness and more of a smokey incensy floral then go for this one, because is this dark beauty loves you back, then the results are quite magical.

Mmm, I love this one. So cozy. The only thing I dislike about this perfume is the initial 5 minutes in which the licorice is strong, but after that it turns into the most beautiful almond-vanilla scent on my skin, especially after the first inital hour. It’s a baby powder bomb in the best way possible. It’s sweet and innocent to me, on my skin the licorice doesn’t stay on (thankfully). Even if the beginning is dark it soon turns into a perfume fit for a fairy rather than a witch (unlike the original Poison). It’s a favorite – I love it!

I really love this perfume. Unfortunately I never got the chance to try this one when it first came out but nevertheless I really love the one I just purchased. Definitely strong on the vanilla and almond notes with a hint of licorice but definitely heady. So far it lasted over 6 hours but sillage is soft. I love pairing this with Jo Malone’s Honey & Crocus as pairing them elevates the creaminess of the almond which is one of my favourite perfume notes and it stops the perfume from being too cloying on me. A beautiful scent and at last I found one that lasts more than 6 hours.
Update: Longevity definitely strong 10 hours with soft sillage. The scent is sweeter with licorice more prominent after a few hours.

I adore HP EDT and thought based on that, I thought I would enjoy this. I realised it was going to be different to the EDT but I find it actually borders on unpleasant. If you are an EDT lover do not blind buy the EDP. You could end up very disappointed and out of pocket. They don’t even smell connected. I just find this one a sweet mess. Really disappointed.

@FireFlySF Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m after a copy of the edp specifically. I think I’m not going to be lucky there though, because I get the impression the edt is much more popular. Thanks though 🙂

@Mounen: you can read the review for the new release Zara Femme 2018 (the one in cubic white bottle) and decide from there. Some people voted that Zara Femme EDP 2018 is similar or reminds them of Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT. I personally disagree with that comparison, but it is just my opinion alone.

Does anyone know a smell alike for this? I like it, but don’t like the price.

I had to go through a bit of a battle with this perfume. I wrote an initial review for it over a year ago, and my thoughts and opinions have changed since then in a few ways.
I don’t think I could emphasise enough with this perfume how important it is to test it. And when you do, do NOT smell it immediately on your skin, and do not smell it from the bottle’s atomiser. It won’t give you any real indication of how it smells on you. Not giving this time to settle on the skin may jar you into not wanting to ever look at it twice. The smell is horrifying on first spritz.
I tested this a while back in my local pharmacy, which sells a lot of Christian Dior perfumes. On first spritz on my skin (always test on the skin, ladies and gentlemen) I didn’t like it. After it had warmed up to my skin, it was this warm, vanilla, spicy, woody goodness. And there was something lovely and smokey about it too, which I loved. I am an oriental lover, and when it comes to vanilla, I don’t like it sweet.
And if you are someone who likes it sweet, steer clear of this entirely because it’s not sweet. So if there was something about the original Hypnotic Poison EDT that scared you off for being sweet, don’t be put off by this one. They smell similar, but the EDT is very, very heavy on sweet vanilla, like powdered vanilla sugar, almost. I did not like that at all.
That brings me to the bit that I hated and also ended up liking about the EDP. On the first blast, it is heavy on the aniseed. Oh, so, so much bitter aniseed. And this is initially what put me off because I absolutely detest liquorice, and the medicinal, scratchy smell the EDP gave off at first almost stopped me completely from wanting to have any more to do with this perfume. But it does mellow out on the skin. It allows the vanilla to bloom. And the way I would describe this vanilla would be closer to the smell of a vanilla bean pod itself; the rich smell, without any real sweetness.
In terms of longevity, I find that it sits at about moderate sillage for me, with a good amount of longevity. But as I suggested, I wouldn’t recommend spraying this and running out the door. This perfume needs at least five minutes to settle down before you leave the house. The initial spritz is a bit too aggressive for that.
I tested it multiple times following my initial impression, and today, I finally bought it. And I don’t regret it. The overall scent wavers in and out of moderately sweet to a little bit bitter and smokey, but overall is more like a burnt, powdery, woody vanilla. I find the overall composition very interesting, and despite my initial hesitation with it, have found myself lusting after it for over twelve months. And now I own it. Consider me sated.
To end this review, I would recommend giving this perfume a go if you tend towards darker, bitter, smokier perfumes. If you like sweet, I would recommend steering clear. And if you do test this, go into it with some patience and an open mind, because this perfume, particularly in the beginning, is not for the faint of heart, or someone who can’t stick out the perfume taking a bit of extra time to warm up and settle down.

One week after smelling Hypnotic Poison for the first time, I bought the 50 ml bottle. The bottle is beautiful, by the way – since it resembles a red apple, it had me expecting something fruitier. Clearly, I was wrong – there is nothing fruity about this scent – but also pleasantly surprised!
The first 3 – 5 minutes it smells strangely enough it smells like blueberry pie to me, just taken out of the oven, even though it has no notes that encourages this impression, but that is what it smells like. It smells like warm blueberries and crust. The almond is also noticeably present during these first minutes. After that, vanilla is the most prominent note, which the other notes complement beautifully. It smells just like what crème brûlée tastes like, and crème brûlée happens to be my favorite dessert. There is that scent of caramelized sugar – almost burnt – and then the creamy, thick, sweet vanilla underneath. Sometimes the licorice brings out something liqueurish of the scent, which brings me to the name of the fragrance.
Hypnotic Poison is the perfect name. It truly is, because the scent is intoxicating. It is sweet and delicious-smelling, but there is that hint of liqueur in the background that could get you drunk, if you aren’t careful. It is elegant, but bewitching and sexy. Sweet, but dark and deep – the sugar was almost burnt.
For some reason, my boyfriend didn’t fall in love with it. He didn’t hate it, he just wasn’t crazy about it. At the time I was very insecure and despite my love for this incredible fragrance, I put the bottle away and used the fragrance he loves (Demeter Fragrance’s Honey) instead. Recently I put some of Hypnotic Poison on and fell in love – again. I have decided to wear it from now on, as long as my boyfriend doesn’t detest it.
On me, the longevity is fine – moderate, I would say, and the same goes for sillage. I mustn’t apply it too generously because it can be overwhelmingly heavy right after spraying and give me a headache.
If this perfume were a person she would be a confident, mysterious and a little bit eccentric woman with an unapologetic laugh. She has traveled a lot, she speaks many languages and has read many books. She is charismatic. When she enters a room, people will look at her. When she speaks, people will listen.

A blind buy that I’m very happy with. Yes, a “deeper” version of the EDT; it is smoky and warm. Feels thick, but not overpowering. Soft and lasting. Medium sillage. I get a little of the cherry that some people mention, but mostly a smoky licorice/anise and vanilla. Not a very complicated scent but very pleasant and comforting. This is the reformulated one, without the black tag. I cannot compare it to the previous formulation (never tried it), but I will say that I far prefer this over the EDT, especially the latest incarnation which lasts on my skin for barely an hour, so sad really. This EDP lasts for several hours and I just love it! Big thumbs up from me!

Hypnotic Poison EDP is very Mexican-vanilla to me. It’s also one of the smooooothest perfumes I’ve ever smelled. It’s the EDT minus the plummy tuberose, almond toned down, and doused in cinnamon. There’s no licorice to my nose. Like the EDT, the EDP smells very soft to me, but I would still spray lightly because I hear this one’s a bomb. It’s either vampy or comforting, depending on your view of cinnamon-vanilla combos. Still debating whether I need a FB, but it’s a very easy-to-wear perfume.

I am a pretty big Dior perfume fan, but this smells terrible. It reminds me of Tigress, which I hated. It’s a heavy, old-fashioned nauseating scent to me. I am so ticked and disappointed about this perfume. I paid a lot of money for this eau de parfum. Gag!

  16. :

This HP is extremely deeper compared to its original HP sister. It’s much more rich and dark and less vanilla sweet. It’s not a bad scent by any means, on the contrary, it’s really beautiful and cozy and a little bit mysterious. I definitely see what people mean by describing the liquorice note as most prominent. It’s got a smokey and woody blackness to it, backed up by the vanilla root beer sweetness that’s peeking through in the background. I think the bottle is a perfect representation on this scent, it smells how it looks! Smouldering.

    Review for the EDP version:
I would expect this one to be more “intense” than the EDT, but it is not unfortunately. It is “dark” but not “deep”. It is “rich” but not “satisfied”. I would expect to smell more “vanilla”, more “caramel”,…Just MORE of everything. I thought it would “simmer” on my skin and develop and get deepened with time, but it did not. It just stopped after “showing off” all the notes quickly (WITHOUT a strong bonding decadence or great structure between them) and then everything fades. It was just like:”There you go…These are ALL I have, one by one. Take it or leave it. Any more question?”.
It does not last well on me as much as Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium EDP (with serious longevity and depth). On my skin, EDPs and EDTs tend to LAST very well, more than on many other’s, even the splashes last for long hours too. And I bought this one from a trusted source that I always get most of my expensive perfumes from, so NO knock-off product here to start “wondering”. I also compared with the EDT samples that I got from Macy’s and Sephora too. Mine is not much stronger.

Dark and beautiful, like some sort of rich, artisan caramel on my skin. Hypnotic Poison and my chemistry go like two peas in a pod and I’m ALL FOR IT. Tried the EDT however and it’s a much weaker version of this flanker, it also barely lasts and it seems to just be one note. If you want depth, and was disappointed with the other one, do not hesitate to try this. It is amazing.
EDIT: Since owning this, I have realised it is extremely, EXTREMELY heady and triggers a migraine, so I’ve resorted to one or so sprays each time I want to use it. Still beautiful though, just packs a punch.

This is the first time I decided to try Dior HP. I don’t know much about this line (all of its versions in the past from EDT or EDP). I tested a sample from Sephora store but all they had was a red bottle with just “Dior Hypnotic Poison” printed on it (without specifying the bottle was an EDT or an EDP. I had no idea which one it was. I should have checked its label on the bottom. However, I did like what I experienced. But I know that I will not get both the EDT and the EDP as my first introduction to Dior HP.
Based on all the pros and cons about this fragrance, I finally decided to buy this particular version in the EDP form. It comes in a new packaging with the little Black CD tag accessorized around the bottle neck.
My guess is that since I like the discontinued Jo Malone London Vanilla & Anise Cologne (that fragrance is definitely NOT for everyone because of the strong fennel note in it), I may enjoy this HP EDP better, as it probably has more “licorice” scent/note than the EDT.

This is beautiful, burning, deep, smoky and darkly sweet. The drydown smells almost like incense to me. The sweetness is enveloped in warm smoke as if from slowly burning wood. There is a gorgeous darkness to this perfume and I am completely addicted to the images it evokes and the feeling I have when wearing it. A fire in the night. It is very close to magic. I’m in love with it and I can’t believe I absolutely hated it on first try. I can’t get enough. This fragrance has seduced me entirely. I have not yet found the perfect scent, but this is incredibly close. Classy, dark, elegantly sensual and thoroughly enchanting, it burns on for hours with a femininity that is hard to define, but simply magnificent to experience and wear.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Richer and stronger than the EDT. Licorice plays the main role. It is a sweet, comforting scent if you like licorice and vanilla. Dry down very close to the EDT. Longevity and sillage are goodl. I like it!

  30. :

    3 out of 5

All I knew until now was the EDT version that all women who surrounded me when I was little were wearing. I’m sure they still wear it until today, and not only them, the next generation also swears by it; it has the warm “sexy” vibe that makes all types of women feel sexy and beautiful no matter how they look or what they’re wearing.
Funny thing is that they also think they’re the only ones wearing it. And they’re bothered when I immediately identify it on them, with a compliment of course, but still, they’re bothered to know that “it’s not them” but “the perfume”, it does not compliment them, it overshadows them, and this is what happens when you’re not “suited” for a scent. It betrays you. And honestly, the women I’ve encountered wearing the EDT (and they are not few) and it being perfect on them are only two.
When I was given a bottle with a small amount of liquid by luck (friend decluttering forgotten perfumes), I was surprised to see that it is an EDP. Of course I had to compare.
    FORGET THE EDT FOR EVER
At least I definitely won’t need it. What I will though have to obtain as soon as possible is a full bottle of EDP. Spray it and after some minutes a perverted mix of rubbery deep bitter liqorice-vanilla-jasmine will emanate from the skin. Initially it had festive bits to it, it reminded me of the vanilla scent in the air at Christmas time, but that soon, thankfully I must admit, transformed into a rather brooding scent, that fits me much better.
Good thing is that it’s also layer-friendly, not that it needs any amplifying, but just in case you’re bored, don’t be afraid to layer; it behaves nicely with other perfumes too.

    @ lolalee
    Snap!
I’ve just spent the past 24 hours worrying I’ve bought a fake 50 ml bottle of Hypnotic Poison EDP.
No Black Lace & CD Tag On The Neck Of The Bottle!
    Reformulation ??????????
Until yesterday I’d only ever smelt HP EDP once before. About 12 months ago. But yes I also remembered it a little different than what my just bought bottle smells like.
I remember it smelled strong on Licorice to begin with. Then pretty much smelled like the HP EDT after that.
Now I’d say HP EDP starts out as strong Cherry, Licorice, Incense and Dark Chocolate. Spicy and Smokey. Amazing! Then after a while it becomes sweeter. more jammy but still really nice. I can just make out the original HP EDT hiding in there somewhere. And popping out now and again. But the EDP and EDT, that I also own, smell very different to each other.
I definitely like the EDP best. And if it’s a fake…
    It’s a dam good one.
At least hearing someone else also has a bottle without the lace and tag. And their perfume was bought from a store. Means my bottle of EDP is now most Unlikely to be a fake.
    So I’m Happy!
PS. I need to learn to type faster as my reviews keep getting posted as a guest.

I definitely feel incense notes in this EDP, it reminds me so much of Kenzo Amour.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

This is kind of a stripped down version of the classic scent. The licorice is more pronounced, but it blends with the jasmine and orange blossom to become a hard to place sharpness/spiciness that is much more pleasant than it sounds. The almond takes a backseat. This doesn’t smell at all like root beer. It is squarely a spicy vanilla floral.
    -=-=-=-
Or maybe I spoke too soon. Three hours in it is clear there are a lot of unlisted notes. That root beer spice blend makes an appearance — coriander, incense, and ??? There is also something powdery like iris or sandalwood. It doesn’t have the full root beer affect that the EDT has, but it does get more spicy than floral.
It fades to a soft ad light vanilla. I didn’t get much almond.
    -=-=–=-=-
So to me this seems to be a bit of a chameleon. At times it’s root beer and classic HP. At times it’s something fresher and more clean. At times it’s creamy. At times it’s spicy.
In the whole I think I prefer it to the original, which can sometimes get a little cloying in it’s syrupiness.

  34. :

I’m not sure what I’m missing here. So many people love this scent! I am surely an oriental vanilla/oriental woody kind of person but this smells so bad on me and yet the sillage and wear is so crazy loud and long! It reminds me of root beer, not vanilla. It just doesn’t work. There’s a spiciness to it that doesnt register well on my skin.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

The bottle is to die for! As for the scent, I must agree with popular opinion that the original edt is slightly better. This one is darker, and it has a strong ‘burnt rubber’ note, which makes the scent less comfy than the edt. It’s like Hypnotic Poison has lost some of its appeal. No wonder it has been discontinued (or was it because it was a limited edition?). It reminds me of Lolita Lempicka and My Insolence, but even more so, of Jesus del Pozo In Black. And did I mention cherry?

Oh, my…Dior delicious flower goodness…Now, a bit of a confession: I bought this on a whim. I had tested this a long time ago so it wasn’t a blind buy, but my memory was fuzzy. I had forgotten how beautiful and delicious and intoxicating this is. I’m a longtime fan of the EDT so I was a bit afraid that I might be disappointed by this because everyone compares the two (they do share the same structure/origin and that is very obvious), but they are BOTH beautiful.

This is one of my favourite perfumes. CD J’adore for day and this for night.
It is warm, cosy, strong, smoky and sexy. Its amazing for nights out, I wake up still smelling of it. Its creamy and musky it certainly makes you want to get closer, I also get a lot of comments from guys with the scent.
It is very expensive possibly one of my most expensive perfumes but so worth it. Recently bought YSL Black Opium and was surprised to find how much it reminded me of this, after comparing all the middle and base notes I can see why. If you’re looking for a slightly cheaper and weaker scent that you can get away with wearing through the day try YSL BO. But if its just pennies you’re looking to save I say don’t bother stick to this, its worth it so much more.

This scent is for the women in heat, a woman who’s in control and knows exactly what she wants and what she wants to taste. The fragrance starts off with a heavy heady incense that reminds you of a witches coven, she’s casting a black magic spell that makes her beauty magnified and to steal the hearts of your lover but there is sweetness behind the smokey black darkness in this fragrance, the sweetness is intoxicating and playful almost seductive. As this elixir starts to dry down notes of warm almond mixed with black licorice waft through the air with the remnants of the smokey incense as an afterthought, this is a warm sensual dark scent that is for every man and woman who is lusting for life… If I personified this fragrance her name would be Carmen a girl who knows how to tug at the hearts of wanting men to get what her heart desires. A girl who has an intoxicating beauty, she smokes Marlboros after making love and has a boyfriend in a punk band. I highly recommend this fragrance for a woman who needs a change in life and wants to live on the flipside.
    god bless x Lizzy

A month after purchasing and submitting the below critical review about preferring the EDT to this EDP, I have changed my mind and now prefer this more refined plummy seductive scent. In fact I am currently so enamored with this that I ordered the brighter fresher Eau Secrete flanker so I can even wear it on hotter days as well. I find myself craving it. Highly recommend wearing it several times before dismissing as you will caught off guard by your sudden need to wear it all the time. Also several people mostly men who have never commented on my dozens of other scents have all of a sudden told me they loved it, without my asking their opinion. So even though you think it’s not strong enough smelling or long lasting others around will definitely notice and appreciate it. I also smelled the Poison Girl EDP which has the almondy base and will be purchasing that soon.

Ok, I now have the both the EDT that I got a month ago and the new EDP which I received via mail today and they seem like two totally different perfumes. The smokey rootbeer almond float of the EDT does not even show up in the EDP, which is all sticky plum and other subtle fruit with a slightly spicy warm vanilla musk base. Some very slight close to the skin notes of what maybe liquorice or non-fruit shows up after 50 minutes but super low sillage. I had to put my nose up close to my arm like practically on top to get anything. Wow, I expected the EDP to pretty much have all the same rootbeer notes as the EDT with more plummy fruit but it’s basically sweet plum and whatever subtle stuff throughout. I much prefer the EDT as it has the more original stronger character and cheaper price. I got the 5 fl oz for the same price as the 3.4 oz EDP.

I just got this the other day from fragrancenet as I was curious because I love the edt it’s been a winter staple for a few years now, I even crave it during the summer sometimes cause the vanilla is so soothing and beautiful to me… so the edp.. reminds me a lot of the Secrete version but stronger and more intense smoky.. yesterday I decided I’m gonna return it and just stick with edt… I smelled it again today and it’s heavenly .. I feel like it’s not really me but I don’t want to part with it! I’m going to wear out tonight to the wine vineyard than a restaurant for dinner.. it’s intoxicating! So maybe it really is me!

So disappointed in this. It just smells like talcum powder on me and made me sneeze. Nothing like the old amazing EDT.

Excellent review Camden Girl. The magic of this one is how it blooms on your skin. I was disappointed when I first tried this because I was expecting a stronger version of the EDT and this is completely different. I’d almost go so far as to say I recoiled from the smell initially and wished I hadn’t sprayed it on my skin. When I first smelled it I almost captured something dirty and sweaty – some people like animalic smells. I’m not one of them. I’m a twice a day shower person. I don’t want to smell human, I want to smell nice!
Anyway, having written it off… after a half an hour or so something magical happened and I realised this perfume was either made for my skin or incredibly special.
Don’t judge this one by how it smells straight off the bat. You need to wait and let it develop on your skin. If it suits you, it will be in your wardrobe for as long as they make it.
It’s not suitable for all occasions or seasons – it’s too heady for that. If you live in a country where the temperature rarely dips below 20 it may not be for you. If you live in a country where the temperature rarely rises above 20 and it suits your skin then you should buy it. No one recognises it, I never smell it on anyone else. I just pray it doesn’t get discontinued.

    Hello fragrance lovers !!
Firstly this is a perfume that needs time , i found my initial reaction was just its ok , nice even but not amazing. See i was judging by hp eau sensuelle and even secrete, so where i love those two i was expecting to instantly enjoy this . Wrong !
I felt the licorice was overpowering and kind of burnt smelling on first sniff, i felt let down as it was a blind purchase , it was just ok-ish.
However it started to really grab me a few hours later, the licorice had tamed right down and other notes I’d not noticed at first came out to play.suddenly hp EDP became a wrist diver, beautiful, vampishly beautiful, sensual and very hard to describe!
What i can say is she’s quite woody yet sweet but not toothache sweet just quite sweetened, if u own sensuelle she like a sweet vanilla almost like cake icing sugar yet still flowery , this EDP is MUCH darker , not nearly so bright as say sensuelle.HP EDP is very much a real woman’s fragrance , by that i mean not girlie and young this fragrance feels experienced and bitter like a woman scorned !!
This is a sexy brew this one , but as i said you may need 2 wear this a day or so 2 fully appreciate her as she does change a bit after an hour or so and that’s where the magic starts. Right through to dry down which is lush ! In fact this is beautiful because it’s such a dark horse.
This edp intoxicates you slowly, addicts you over time,
Wraps her tentacles around you when you’re not quite looking, liqorice and Tonka bean enrapture you , sambac Jasmine absolute transfix and allure and a deep almost burnt or caramelized vanilla holds it all together, a powdery light almond seem to be in the background with a dark cherry pipe tobacco vibe mixed with deeply aromatic INCENSE… Yummy!
I’m addicted to this just the same as i am eau sensuelle and eau secrete, just they were both instantly addictive where as this EDP is a SLOWER one to reel you in but she still does and you can’t say when it happened, but u will CRAVE it like cigarettes, drugs or sweets !
I’m hooked and it only took a night, i was not enamoured at first yet now I’m totally loving this beautiful bewitching fragrance, i can’t stop sniffing my wrists, this is very sexy and dark, confident, carnal even ! (apparently Absolutes were used in this perfume and i feel it gives this more depth.)
This so deserves to be in the poison line , absolute-ly ! ( *more on that below)
In fact i have to stop this review here as I’m being called back to the captivating bottle and one spritz and the trance state continues 🙂
Pure wicked indulgence , wonderful !!
    9 outa 10
A side note : *Absolutes ,this fragrance is all about absolute (s), apparently an absolute is similar to an essential oil (s) the difference lies in the extraction process. Essential oils and absolutes are both highly concentrated fragrance oils from flowers and plants, but where essential oils are extracted through steam distillation, an absolute is extracted using a solvent like hexane or Ethanol.
Therefore absolutes contain even more of the aromatic detail making it smell closer to it’s natural form and superior some would say a more concentrated fragrance experience or top billed super notes !
    Edit :
A year or so later this version became my favourite , beating all other versions of hypnotic poison ! 10/10
