Description
“Historically, Colognes are essentially composed of citrus oils, pungent Lavender, Rosemary, Thyme … and sometimes with a base of Amber.
Cologne Nocturne reverses this ratio in its composition, and offers a refined fragrance, elegant and subtle, a fragrance for the evening and the night. For Le Galion, Rodrigo Flores-Roux has created a wonderful amber water, sitting on a wealth of Wood (Modern Cedar, abstract Wood, Patchouli) for the persistent note, dressed with Lavender, Clary Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, with a spicy touch that makes it intriguing and addictive. The peak of Cologne Nocturne is an explosion of Bergamot and Lemon, subtly mixed with a touch of Rose Wood.” – a note from the brand.
Cologne Nocturne was launched in 2016.

This is one of the better “modern Cyphres” I have had the pleasure of trying out. Instant freshness with a very distinct bergamot and a lovely lavender bliss.
As stated below, the accord hides the notes well save for lavender and bergamot, but that is not a bad thing, at all. It is a very aromatic and spicy accord accompanied by lovely while subtle woods that adds a nice nuance. There are some green notes and a herbal spicyness that sit very well with the rest of the composition.
Cologne Nocturne reminds me somewhat of Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver aside, of course, from the lavender. While not a similar scent per se the “feeling” is very much the same, less green and bitter but slightly more sweet and woodsy. An early late-summers morning in the woods with some dew to make nature really shine, both visually and in rich scents. Slightly misty and fleeting but certainly not dank. Rounded off with a mediterrainian late but warm evening in a citrus grove with plenty of lavender to sweeten the deal.
In summary, I adore Cologne Nocturne! I am usually not a huge fan of lavender since I often get the feeling that it dominates in a cloying way. But this is somethibng else completely. If my wife does not voice a strong opinion against it, I will get a bottle. (probably will anyway and use for myself)
While not familiar with Le Galion from before I might sample a few more solely on basis of this one.

Sometimes things just get a little too much you know.
…Phosphorescent petal accords, Deepest Aoud v0.3, Nile waterlily headspaces, Driftwood essence, ginger lily CO2’s, grey ambergris tinctures….
Cologne Nocturne is none of those things. Its what I reach for when I want to cut through the hype. From the most humble line-up of ingredients comes something so special.
Somehow, always, the opening citrus is exciting. I’m not sure how. An aura of lavender is probably the strongest feature, but never sticks out, its combined with a judicious use of herbaceous nuances that describe a dry and characterful landscape. Wood and spices seamlessly integrated. Somehow the rosewood waters the whole thing into some stunning artwork.
Fit for absolutely any occasion you can throw at it.
I’ll never let my bottle go.

A very beautiful lavender and citrus cologne, Cologne Nocturne is remarkably complex for this type of fragrance. Other than lavender and bergamot, none of the individual notes of the bouquet stands out, but it has a compelling autumnal quality, with hints of clover honey and dry grass.
While less ephemeral than most colognes, this still only lasts a few hours on me before petering out into a whispery cedar and patchouli.
Highly recommended as a traditional cologne with a little extra.

Total love.
Le Galion is my new passion. While I appreciate some of the house’s perfumes more than others, all demonstrate amazing artistry.
Cologne nocturne is gorgeous. From opening to base notes, I feel as though the perfume unfolds to take the wearer on a walk through dusk into velvety darkness. I imagine mossy statues emerging out of the half light, the air heavy with scents of both kitchen and flower gardens. Lavender adds an intoxicating note to the herbal, spicy and woody notes that make this so distinctive and seductive. The woman wearing this should be dressed in a long chiffon dress, which whispers over the stone path as she hurries to meet a lover lurking out there among the lemon trees…
Yes, my imagination appears to have run away with me, but such is the power of a truly beautiful scent!

A really nice cologne. I love the first hour with a truly realistic lavender followed by an aromatic bouquet (thym, sage, rosemary) then it’s calm down on a gentle woody base, still with the ghost of all the aromatic notes.
