Description

CK One fragrance from Calvin Klein that was launched in 1994 marked the teenage generation of the 90s and 2000s. The new aroma for her and for him, coming out mid-2016, is a modern interpretation of the iconic fragrance conveying the message: “Be brave. Stand out from the crowd. Everything you touch exudes gold. “

CK One Gold is seasonal, youthful scent of juicy and fresh woody character which supposedly combines the power of both sexes. Energetic freshness in the top notes is achieved by an unusual blend of fig, bergamot and sage. The luminous heart of neroli is complemented by flowers of jasmine and violet. Sunny vetiver gives depth to the perfume, leaving a sensual and warm trail on the skin together with notes of patchouli and guaiac wood.

Rhiannon McConnell is the face of the ad. The signature transparent CK One bottle is dipped in gold paint. The fragrance is available from September 2016 as a 50, 100 and 200 ml Eau de Toilette.

Just got it and first impressions are promising. I think the fact that it’s very soft, but not traditionally feminine is a great way to go with unisex perfumes.
Openning is great — very easy scent that just feels nice. This is where guys might say it’s feminine smell, but girls might be like — nothing special (because it’s not powerful feminine). I think some people metioned it as a sleep scent — great comparison as anything that smells nice is democratic and isn’t categorised as feminine or masculine. Just a nice smell that makes you feel relaxed.
I do think that the masculine woodsy notes miss the target. I mean in it’s dry down it starts to get quite confusing and without a unique charater. Shower gel skin scent at the end.
Also, it doesn’t have strong performance!
Scent is great! For those whol like CK All and that type of easy going scents.
Because of the strong openning I give it Thumbs up!

Bottle is amazing. Scent is ok but performance is really bad. Lasts less than one hour then become very very close to skin. Not worth the money.

I love CK One Gold! The design of the bottle and the fragrance are really fantastic. Sometimes I will wear one fragrance on my person and spray CK One Gold on my jacket or sweater. Other times I wear the fragrance to bed. It’s sweet and delicious.

I’m on my sixth bottle now. 2 x 200ml and 4 x 100ml. On first try I thought ‘Womanity light’ but it soon became apparent this was a fleeting comparison. If you sniff and close your eyes within the first few minutes you get an echo of Womanity, but more Womanity Eau Pour Elle, which is lighter. Regarding longevity I believe asnominia is a possible reason because after weeks of intensive testing I have found that it is actually still there, it is just close to the skin. I would imagine in hotter days it would reappear. Love this stuff and it’s not even released in the UK! Also, for the one spritzers and spraying the air and walking thought it, how the hell are you going to smell anything other that your fabric conditioner!. Spray them, enjoy them!

    Cheap Lipstick in a bottle..

Literally a tire fire. The “burning rubber” note is overpowering in this one and takes it right out of the “perfume” category into the “environmental disaster” category. … This isn’t exaggeration on my part… I literally cannot find one pleasant note here… straight up tire fire.

I really want this for the beautiful bottle.. But the longevity is disaster.. I can’t barely smell anything within 15minutes. such a waste for this gorgeous bottle

Sprayed once in the store. Walked around for a bit and thought ‘this has promise!’
Went back in and sprayed the other arm too. Ended up feeling nauseous. The scent itself is sweet and gourmand, but there must be some short-cuts in the ingredients which aren’t the best quality.
Hard pass. Oh well, there are a million and one nice sweet scents out there!

    Nothing to see here…..
    Nothing to smell here…..
    Nothing happening here…..
    Please move along….
    A service announcement from CK.
    Thank you.

This one is completely without character. I don’t think it smells like any of the notes. Reminds me of some laundry detergent.
It doesn’t smell feminine and it doesn’t smell masculine.
It leaves me emotionless, so boring.
Not an awful scent, just nothing to remember here.

Very very weak fragrance basically there’s nothing much to smell very poor edition

Very feminine in my opinion. Nothing amazing.

This DOES NOT smell like WOMANITY by Thierry Mugler.
Stop the madness… One common note =/= an identical smell.
Womanity is polarizing – metallic, briney, sharply green, watery fruit, sweet, and musky.
CK One Gold is amicable – peppery, tangy sweetness, creamy floral, and blonde woods with a vanillic slant.
    Not alike at all.

    I love the bottle.
    Smell ok but poor performance.

    Blind buy, worst buy yet.
Starts of good , vanishes in next half hour.
Whitest excuse floor a fragrance. Won’t be surprised if this goes off shelf sooner.

Sharp, harsh with an artificial “woods” note. Fortunately it doesn’t last long. Pass.

Flippin’ gorgeous! Yes it’s not all that long lasting but I have an atomiser and for the price of a 100ml I can’t justify passing by that summery, juicy fig! I don’t think it’s one for everyone, but this is a scent that instantly uplifts my mood! Wearing it right now and despite the fact I’m cold and facing an 11 hour shift today I’m dancing about the place!

  19. :

It smells really good, but the poor performance is an issue. I have to spray like 30 times before it can be smelled by others and then it fades away in an hour.
What a pity! Luckily I bought it at a special price.
At the rate I’m spritzing myself with it, I believe this 100ml bottle I have will be gone in no time & I will not be repurchasing this for sure!

Disappointed, so light & lasts about 20 minutes on me. Wanted to like this but it’s like fragranced water on me. It smells kind of citrusy to me upon first spray & it’s pretty boring to me personally. I’ll pass.

Yes please! What a gold rush! On first impression, one would think gold often means more of a warm fall / winter fragrance but this is quite simply not the case here!
This is a golden juice in a league of it’s own, very refreshing and rejuvenating. A perfect blend of fresh and warm notes! It is very hard to describe this because these two qualities tend not to gel together yet this fragrance manages it effortlessly!
It is not a liquid molten gold as the bottles suggests, but more of an icy sparkling gold! Reminds you of frozen shimmering gold dust, if such a thing exists!
I am quite simply unable to decide whether this is best suited for spring, summer , fall or winter… I suspect it would shine equally well under all weather conditions, I personally find it a perfect match no matter what the occasion! LOVE it!

I received this for Christmas….my secret Santa at work
I had sniffed it at Macy’s once, and thought…hmmm..not bad, not bad. However, after a full wearing, I just find this one too generic for my nose. I will use it very casually, T-shirt and shorts days….
I see now…yet ANOTHER flanker coming out in February… CK ONE ALL…..the notes sound interesting at least. I will test that one, but am not expecting much…sigh….

I got the chance to try this in a mall. I would say that its citrus notes dominate the initial spray then dries down to floral scent. Sillage for me is only moderate and I think it would need multiple sprays to notice. One thing that I noticed is that it leaves a sticky feeling and texture to skin.

Inspired by Guerlains painted bottle ?
A pity it is so weak and the composition is basically a general male cologne base with fig and violet added.
Seems like they spent most of their budget on marketing and not a good nose that could build a “golden” perfume to fit the ad and bottledesign.
A very good opportunity wasted in my eyes.

What an incompatible bottle scent combo! The bottle is fabulous, not iconic or stylish but very cute and fun to look at.
The scent starts with a blast of alcohol and faint citrus. After that, I may be smelling some fig, mixed with the original CK One sporty vibe. The drydown comes within 15 minutes, with some masculine vetiver nuances, but again light is the word.
    Bottle aside, not too memorable

My anticipation for CK One Gold was finally anointed two weeks ago. I have never craved a new release so much as CK One Gold – fig fruit is one of my favorite notes. Not only that, but CK fragrances are very affordable. I quickly purchased a 200ml/6.7oz for $40 when it was available.
CK One Gold opens with a very familiar, safe opening of iced citrus and fresh pepper/spice. Before you know it, the candied fig note joins the opening notes to create a “Fruity Pebbles” cereal accord… you read that correctly, Fruity Pebbles. The citrus creates the tart and tangy smell while the fig creates the sweet berry smell. This opening lasts quite some time (20-30 minutes).
The Fruity Pebbles accord eventually gives way to a more sweet, soft citrus (neroli) and, before you know it, the basenotes come through and we are left with a sweet, creamy “woods” accord with an almost vanillic tinge.
As far as this being unisex, this is slanted more towards the feminine standards of modern perfumery. If you are a man who is comfortable with wearing Le Male, PR 1 Million, Polo Red, Lolita Lempicka Au Masclin, Givenchy Pi, Rochas Man, and the likes, then you can easily wear CK One Gold.
With all the praise I give CK One Gold, I must say that the outrage of its longevity is warranted. I have sprayed this thing liberally as if it were a bodyspray or body mist and the damn thing barely lasted 3 hours! As such, this makes a better “pick me up” than an actual fragrance to wear for extended periods. Kudos to the house of CK for such an interesting fragrance!

I am not a fan of cKone line, never like any of them – too fresh, too powdery, too clean, strangely sweet, cheap soap, you name it. Then it comes in gold, with the iconic bottle of cKone. Honestly, I don’t understand the correlation between cKone and all its line with the same name (unless they are summer edition).
ckOne gold, again fail to impress me. I think this is more white than gold. The top notes blast my nose after spray it. Fresh, that come across my mind, not so bad. But then the jasmine and neroli start become dominant. I don’t hate jasmine, but very selective on what kind of jasmine used in one perfume. cKone gold does not work for me. The drydown of this perfume tells me that this is not mine. But if you like jasmine, neroli, this might work for you. Its not bad, just not for me.
Note : This review is based on paper strip test.

A citrusy vanillinic creamy cyclamen scent with plastic sides.
It smell like a custard into a new car.

So much potential, wasted…the bottle is stunning, and the scent itself I like much more than usual Calvin Klein fragrances due to its woodiness. However, the staying power is awful. I have tested this on three separate occasions and after about an hour there is nothing left on my skin. Maybe if I were to douse myself in it I’d get more wear out of it, especially if it does reactivate with perspiration, but I am not reassured by those times when I tested it.

The bottle (gold top to clear bottom) reminds me from the CH 212 VIP Men line – Club Edition (L.E).
Hoping to give this a try & decide whether if its a worthy purchase or not..

Loved it for the 20 minutes i could
smell it, after that it vanished,
very poor longevity on my skin and
no projection at all, to bad as i would
have bought a bottle if it wasnt for the
    poor performance.

I really like this fragrance. I purchased a bottle from CalvinKlein.com for $58.00. The scent first starts off very strong and woody then calms down to a subtle skin scent. The fragrance reactivates when you perspire which is a very good thing for me. Overall its a good fragrance.

Already available in duty free shops (or at least in Munich) – as I love Ck One I was almost ready to buy it – pleasant and fresh but with a very poor longevity…hopefully it will be widely available so that I can test it again..

An interesting fragrance that smells like a fresh and tamed version of Mugler Womanity.
Bergamot and fig are prominent, whereas woods seem blended with sunny salicylates.
    The bottle is very clever.
