There IS a similarity with Rose Oud by Kilian, but that one’s smoother with a hint of nuttiness, not as bright and sweet/fruity; it’s like between City Love and City Oud
misha 1986 – :
If you want a rose scent with a splash of oud (gosh, how did we miss the pink pepper?) that smells like every other vague rose scent on the market, stop here. It’s so boring I can’t even write a full review. Boring, boring, boring.
Sillage: 2-3 ft
Longevity: scrubbed after an hour
Fabulosity: mashed potatoes
Value to price ratio: poor
1/10 for complete lack of originality

And in what world is this meant for men? I received this as a sample from scent trunk and the first thought I had was there must have been a mistake. If I think about this smell on a lady I figure it’s not that bad. It has the powdery elements of an older woman’s perfume but I can only picture a younger lady pulling this one off…strange.

city love is very sweet creamy syrup rose . very nice smell.. at first i got this very familiar smelling notes i dunno wat but after seeing the notes in here i know it was lemongrass dat make it quite nice smell.
my opinion
projection 7/10
longevity 6/10
scent 9/10

Instant impression: sweet. Oh, so very SWEET. Almost syrupy; it must be the oud. This is surprisingly similar to BBW Twilight Woods. I would imagine it would layer quite well with the lotion! This is more of a going out or night scent than anything else. I’m disappointed that I can’t smell any lemongrass. The projection is great. Wear it out clubbing and you’re sure to be noticed! But be careful not to over apply lest those around you drown in a sea of grenadine.

I put this on and walked into a room of people and after a few minutes they asked who smelled like an old lady. However after letting it sit on my skin awhile its turning into a nice soft oud/rose fragrance. Calming and very appropriate for fall.

Amp up the oud in Kilian’s Rose Oud and you will get City Love. I am a bit disappointed by my blind purchase as I wanted a rose-centered fragrance. City love is Oud centered with rose as a supportive role. In comparison to Kilian’s Rose Oud, the rose notes in CIty Love is not sharp (aka fresh), but blunted (aka creamy) and overpowered by Oud. For this reason, the rose in Rose Oud by Kilian seemed more ‘expensive’ and high class than City love, which seemed artificial. The oud in City Love is very well done though, and I definitely recommend this to Oud lovers looking for a rose variant.

I absolutely love this rendition of the Oud/rose combo, that seems currently so popular. I got as many compliments for this, as i do for Oud Ispahan. But i think what makes this one special is the violet, which i am a huge fan of, and it gives it a powdery aspect that i love. This is very creamy and soft on my skin, more so than the Ispahan, and far less headache-inducing than Black Aoud. I would go so far as to say Black Aoud is an intense, almost aggressive approach to the rose/oud harmony, and i have to use only half a spray of it, in order to not asphyxiate myself, or any random passersby. I find City Love to be softer, gentler, creamier. Black Aoud is quite linear, whereas City Love has more of a development over the course of the day, it seems to evolve and morph. Longevity, is awesome for this, and as with most Ouds, there’s never a problem with sillage. They seem to permeate and creep around a room with little effort. I’m going to say that this can easily be worn by an Oud loving woman. In my opinion it’s beautiful, warm, sexy, magical, and, as others have pointed out, a fragrance for cooler climates – so an all year round fragrance for me.
Anyway, i bought a sample, and have been intent on a FB ever since. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me.

City Love begins as oud + patchouli. Oudchouli?
As it dries down the violet and lemongrass come out. Cinnamon is a lot less prominent in City Love than City Oud.
I know that “warm spicy” is listed as an accord, but I find City Love to be more “fresh spicy”.

update my previous review about projection and longevity.
projection is like a beast, everybody can smell you easily.
longevity, i get 12 hours+ on my skin, no problem. i sprayed in the morning at 9am, came home around 11pm and i can still smell it on my skin.
Application: this is for cold weather, i do 2 sprays. 1 on the chest and 1 on the back of my neck and i’m set. you can also add 1/2 on each wrist if you wanna be loud or if the weather is quite cold in your area.
don’t over apply on this beast or you’ll die LOL. I did 3 sprays once in 20 degrees C : 1 on the chest, 1 on the neck and 1 at the back of my neck and i almost passed out during the day hahahh. But when the night came about 15 degrees C, 3 sprays will do its job.
i’m quite happy with the price and quality of Dueto

strong oud and rose… the introduction reminds me of the Montale Black Oud dry down. smoother and easier to wear.
this is more for a colder season.
I agreed to the previous review, the scent is the mix of classic and modern, Middle East and Western fragrance.
If you like Montale Black Aoud, give this a try! The dry down is not the same as black aoud, more roses and very sexy! Both men and women can pull this off easily if they just start look into oud’s fragrancel.
For me, it’s a definite BUY!
Beautiful scent for both men and women whom developed their nose and like something unique!
cucher – :
To me it has a fine balance between old school and new stuff. I seem to discover scents in it I loved throughout the years. I think it is beautiful and mysterious. A nice edition to my collection.
puhlyi – :
this is too strong to my nose and I don’t like oud very much.so it’s no surprise that I don’t like this one,to be honest I can’t even take an aroma like this!it tries to fit to both men and women, but unfortunately fail to do either.some ladies might adore scents like this, but definitely not good choice for younger ladies.on the other hand,I can’t imagine a man wearing this powerful, cinnamon perfume and getting lots of compliments.
it smells like tons of mothballs.
sosjoy – :
Very nice fragrance. I smell above all the oud and patchouli. It is the heart of the fragrance and both are the strongest notes. The violet and rose cling on to these notes throughout the fragrance. It’s a thick scent, probably better suited for colder weather and and night. Longevity is also really good with every Dueto fragrance I’ve sampled. Definite thumbs up.
thorse – :
I got a sample from Dueto City Love and I must confess it is a nice perfume where the Agarwood is the main note but the other notes can be easily noted and I am sure either man or woman can wear it with any problem. I like it !!!
Xodakovih – :
What we have here is a very well done Rose fragrance. Soft smooth and slightly creamy. Longevity and projection are excellent. I can see this as unisex. Reminds me of noir de noir without the deep balminess that noir has. I would also add that it feels like vanilla is at the base of this as well.
