Literally lemons. This is hands down a lemon scent. It’s pretty, simple, and clean. Longevity isn’t the best, but not so bad either. My boyfriend isn’t a fan of lemons so I didn’t sniff twice, but it is a very nice one to try.

I remember a year ago; we went on a vietnam-style restaurant in our country and I ordered a lemongrass flavored iced tea and the after-taste of it taste exactly like the smell of this fragrance. And also I remember when I used to squeeze a little lemon in my earl gray tea and I sniffed a freshly sliced lemon in half and I smiled cuz it smells exactly like this!. It’s lemony but not sharp and masculine, but rather tart. My classmate said that it smells like a lemon flavored hard candy and I totally argee. But I prefer the original verbena.
    8/10

OMG i love this, is sweet and fresh and smells like the most amazing lemon candy you’ll ever have and of course because faith would have it some dummy ruined it for me by comparing it with cheap hotel soap, so while i think is super yummy some people find it too sharp and citric , oh wel spray with caution since is so fresh overspraying can be a problem..

Have no idea this version is from 2006 as L’occitane store just opened where I live & I don’t buy things online so visiting the store last night was a pleasure. The fragrance itself is so light & refreshing & yes you could bath in it without choking or anything like that. It smells like freshly squeezed lemon with lemon peels & leaves. I have a lemon tree at my house yard but it has no lemonds fruit yet, the leaves smells exactly like this fragrance, it has a bitterness to it & its zestness it unmistakable, very natural & luxurious in a generous 150ml bottle with yellow juice that is so precious & perfect for hot summer days. Guess L’occitane keep producing this edition every summer or so it seems cause it’s my first time dealing with them & getting anything at all from them.

Oh my goodness I love this scent. If I could bath in it I would. Its the only scent I spray on as if it were a splash. Just all those wonderful crisp lemons and the verbena and I’ve always had a soft spot for cedar – just a beautiful combination. Of all the perfumes I have this one I would choose every time but I force myself to wear other things.

First of all, I’m just starting to dip my toes in exploring perfume so I hope this I can correctly express my thoughts on this cologne!
I think this is a great, simple summer scent! I love how authentically citrus and bright it smells – like fresh lemon and grapefruit zest – when you first spray it on the skin. After an hour or two, it turns subtly sweeter, like someone has sugared the flesh of the fruit. On my skin, it lingers softly and turns a bit more musky before disappearing after about 4 hours.
While I love the top notes and drydown very much, I wish it could just last longer on the skin – it’s just much too expensive for the 4 hours it gives me.

People need to remember that this is a Cologne so it doesn’t last very long. But boy oh boy is it amazing!. I spray it all over my body when I come out of the shower and its very invigorating!. You can smell the main 3 notes…Verbena, Lemon & Grapefruit! I especially love the grapefruit in it. So gorgeous and refreshing! Just like summer.
A tip is to spray it on your clothes if you want it to last longer 🙂

This is a highly addictive fragrance for me. I got samples of the shampoo and conditioner in one L’Occitane order, and I didn’t think I would like it, since I’m really not a fan of green or citrus scents. However, this is my one exception. It is heavenly. The citrus is perfect; not too tart or too sweet; but the note that makes the entire fragrance for me is the cedar. It warms the citrus perfectly. I absolutely love this scent and hope it’s never discontinued.

First I bought it by mistake :))LOL-I thought it would be EDT, so for the price of L’Occitane 150ml-5,1fl oz. it was quite affordable/vs other prices on L’Occitane website/ so as I love grapefruits, verbena and citruses it was truly me. A box with all my L’Occitane shopping arrived and I discover it is Eau Fraiche-and it is very fragile, delicate fragrance which doesn’t last long-that’s why it was quite cheap, but I do love it, as it is just perfect for summer time, not overwhelming bursting of freshness cocktail of citruses, verbena and my favourite grapefruit. It is sparkling mist of citruses with hints of verbena, great refreshing and quite long stay on skin, but it is not as strong like EDT, even less then EDC-truly Eau Fraiche 🙂 I strongly recommend it to all fresh-citruses-verbena-grapefruit lovers, is it just ocean of delicate lemonade, not too strong, not sharp, just sparkling and fizzy-full of sunshine, leaves and flowers of grapefruit, verbena leafs.
And … the bottle -is just state of art-love it really:)-will keep for years as reminding of great London Summer, Summer full of Dreams, London tears of Happiness:)

Yep. it’s citrus, all right. It’s somewhat boring, but you could certainly pay a lot more and do worse.
I agree with the reviewer who said that it’s not really a perfume, but more of a body mist – putting us firmly in Bath and Body Works territory.

Very lemon-y, incredibly fresh and sweet, direct and not complicated. My husband and small children approve, which is quite rare. I love this so much–and could love it a lot more if it didn’t have to be applied hourly. 🙁 Good thing I got the 5-oz bottle!!!

If a smell could sparkle, this would.
The hit of verbena-spiked lemon is so beautifully fresh it evokes that moment of pain-pleasure when you take a first sip of ice-cold, freshly-squeezed, oh-so-sour lemonade, rounded out with just a dash of sugar to make it friendlier and more addictive.
I tend to get bored of simplistic, linear scents very fast and this is the only one that has stayed with me through the past couple of years, and STILL brings a smile to my face when I smell it. It’s my hot-weather comfort scent, perfect for searing hot days and loose cotton dresses when even Chanel No. 19’s sharp-green zing is not sufficient to cool me down.
While it’s a citrus, it’s also extremely gourmand the way Serge Luten’s Jeux de Peau is a gourmand. Not of the typical sugar-sweet variety, but UNDENIABLY foody nonetheless. (Just thinking of the sour-sweet tang makes my mouth salivate slightly.) Definitely worth checking out if you like interesting food-like fragrances.
Two minuses: As you can imagine, this doesn’t last too well. It acts like a cologne and seems to be all effervescent lemon topnotes. After an hour, it dissipates and has to be reapplied, which brings us to the next problem. This only comes in that tiny bottle. I need a huge one!!!

This is absolutely lovely, of course as a typical summer scent. It is basically lemon all the way, plus nice herbal-green and sweet, sorbety undertones. It smells like freshly peeled lemon along with some green, lemon-tree leaves, and lemonade with ice. Some people say they smell grapefruit, I’d say it’s rather lemon peel, but it’s a very similar, bitter and citrusy note.
I figure using it abundantly as a body mist on a hot hot day.
It has nice staying power and reasonable projection.

Well “migotka”,according our so called genius we all going to have a tropical heat even in Sibiria sooner or later probably sooner. The global warming should arrive for about five or sex years ago… So fill up your basement, with this perfume bottles especially if it`s so low staying power. In our country the winter turn to be colder then somebody should except, especially this winter. It`s a fine line from genius to idiot. However I don`t care a shit about the weather when I use perfume. The main thing is to read description`s and trust people when I searching a lemony fragrance and several people writing: HEAVY SPICY!! That is not a lemony perfume. Thank you all for warning me of this particular matter!!! I`m tired of loosing money with blind buy.

My friend loves this and she bought a bottle. On first sniff Nestlé Lemon Tea instantly came to my mind.
Not a bad smell, really, just, very lemon tea.

A very sweet fresh citrus fragrance that unfortunately only lasted about 10 minutes on my skin.

This is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, the scent lasts for about 1-2 hours & you will go though a bottle in three months tops. The verbena and lemon is a perfect blend & I always get complements…perfect for summer!

This fragrance is a burst of grapefruit. It’s like those sweets that contain fruit sparkling mousss inside, as they dissolve in your mouth, the mousse bursts in your mouth leaving a funny feeling on your tongue. It’s like a lemonade from freshly squeezed citrus mixed with sparkling water. And it’s like a lemon hand cream I used to use a few years back during wintertime.
There is not much to this fragrance apart from the sparkling, sharp citrus notes. I think they re a bit too sharp, and there is nothing here to make them softer and rounder. I am not too fond of drinking an undiluted lemon juice, and I feel the same about Verbena. It’s nice, but it feels like a citrus overdose, although perhaps would work better in a hotter climate.

I just bought this scent and really love it. It gives me an uplifting, happy feelingthat makes me want to keep smelling it more and more. It does fade away..but I found if you use the body sorbet lotion first and then spray the fragrance, it lasts a lot that longer. Normally, I dont wear citrusy type fragrances, but this is a perfect upgrade for summer from the regular L’Occitane Verbena scent.

This is not really a perfume, it’s more a fragrant body mist that is perfect in summer, I can not think of a better refreshment, or perhaps EdC 4711, also very pleasant. Citrus fragrance is not my ultimate choice, even though they are very comfortable in the hot summer months.
Citrus Verbena Summer smells like sweet lemonade with a few drops of honey, stayes on the skin with clean, lovely scented trail. Body lotion is enough in combination with body mist, I like even more than some of the later editions. Sometimes smells like cheese cake with lemon, or apple pie, but less gourmet, maybe ice cream with lemon and vanilla. Fine fragrance and certainly I was not reminded of the smell of toilet cleaners, it’s a very nice summer scent. Actually there are many different scents with citruses, this is one of those I liked.

I bought a big bottle of this fragrance and don’t know when I will finish it! It’s a totally different type of scent for me as I usually go for Floral Oriental Vanilla, but I was looking for a fresh and clean type of scent to be easily worn in offices where heavy perfume is often annoying and air is not always pure and light… Too many humans packed.
I like most L’Occitane fragrances, because they’re quite light but distinctive, not mainstream, maybe simpler than most popular design concoctions and not overly expensive. They also stay true to their formulas. It was natural for me to look into their lines for a fresh scent. I already knew their traditional Verbena, absolutely lovely. Citrus Verbena is less sharp and sweeter. First it smells like those frizzy lemon bon bon sealed in single papers that I used to buy for very little money in the parish’s bar when I was a child.
After only 3-4 minutes it fades away a bit and verbena starts its lingering herbal typical aroma. They go on happily hand in hand.
It’s true that it fades quite quickly compared to more intense perfumes but I think that it was meant to be so. It’s a beautiful pick-me-up with a sparkling lemony burst to wake up and a gradual fading, not so quickly fading for the kind of fragrance, after all. It last more than 2 hours on my skin and it also mingles nicely with heavier perfumes you put before. Both lemon and verbena are said to be brain stimulating and efficiency enhancing in aromatherapy. They remove sluggishness and clear the mind. They’re also “clean” smells in a herbal way, not laundry musky clean which I don’t like. They should have anti-bacterial properties, but I’m not sure they work in this form.
I spray 1 single squirt while at office and people commented that it smells so fresh and clean! As for me I like the sensation of delicate push-me-through-work effect.
Sometimes I only spray a small hanging puppet to boost a little aura around my personal squared meter. It goes very well with natural environment desktops 😀
As a perfume I think it’s a nicer and less expensive other choice for lovers of common mainstream like D&G Light Blue or Moschino.

I don’t know how the plant smells like, but to my nose “Citrus Verbena Summer” is a mix of lemon-vanilla ice-cream and lime. Nice fragrance for those who like the smell of floor cleaners with an extra hint of sweetness. I have nothing against it;))

At first this is a great fresh, clean perfume and is especially good when it is warm and you are looking for something refreshing to wear. However, I have found that it dies too quickly – but maybe it is just my skin type.

I only got to squeese a little amount on my skin from a tiny little wet cloth packed from loccitane.
BUT I will try my best; its a very natural citrus scent. I reminds me of a certain type of lemon bonbons that has been around here in Norway long before I was born. The scent is not too sharp, its rouned with sweetness. I guess it could remind of insect repelants made of real essential oils or wet cloths handed of on airplanes. Its a common smell, but I like it anyways. A honest, non-offencive and I would say delicious smell.
