Jonway – :
This is a review for Black Oud, which isn’t in the database yet. At first I was thinking “synthetic mess,” then several minutes later I was thinking, “vanilla overload nonsense.” However, perhaps an hour later it reminded me of Tobacco Vanille, though I don’t detect the dried fruit element that TV contains. The tobacco doesn’t seem as strong and if there is an oud note here it must be the mildest I’ve ever encountered. I think if you want a “rough” TV drydown, this is the cheapest, relatively close approximation you’ll get. And when I say rough I mean the first several minutes, at least, are a bit irritating to me, and also that it’s certainly not exact, even in the drydown and even if you don’t take strength into account (this isn’t as strong as TV). However, this is the kind of thing that answers the question that several have asked, along the lines of, “why can’t a company make a cheapo version of niche scent X?”
