I find that this, combined with Demeter’s Fraser Fir, creates a perfect winter fragrance! Really puts me in the holiday spirit. 🙂 The fir scent adds some freshness and keeps the Christmas in New York from being too sickeningly sweet.

My daughter asked for this last Christmas, worst perfume I have ever smelt. It’s maybe the spices but it reminds me of a Chinese take away, curry ect.

Got one this morning . Sugary cristalized chestnut almost caramelised. I do not smell the Apple and it s better like this . A touch of rhum…that gives to the whole thing an ambery tone. Perfect for Xmas of course but also very nice at fall …autumn in New York maybe , when the leaves turn orange and red .

This is a really nice smell, though I haven’t smelled it many times. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t buy it. Someone I know creates perfume/room spray smells, I prefer her Christmas smell than any ones I can get in stores!

This is a gourmand Christmas party fragrance
Christmas in New York?
Christmas ANYWHERE IN THE US OR WORLD!
It’s got sweet notes of eggnog, cinnamon, milk, rum, marron glace, chestnut, nutmeg, and spices. This is one of those rare non floral non fruity niche indie fragrances. It’s rare and not mainstream perfume but it smells so delicious! I sincerely believe this scent is supposed to recreate the scent of eggnog; you know milky, sweet, alcoholic, festive. The rum note is the strongest note so if you are a fan of alcoholic beverage based perfumes this rum is wonderful, pleasant and delicious. It smells like walking around a Christmas party mixing and mingling with people and holding a cup of eggnog.
Such a Christmas party scent. I don’t know if it works on everyone’s skin chemistry but on me it works just fine. I’m used to gourmand fragrances. I think that if you like gourmands but the kind that lack fruit (unlike La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme or La Nuit Tresor) or the bakery shop sweet pastry scents like Britney Spears Fantasy, this might not be your bag. But if you are accustomed to alcohol based gourmands and spicier fragrances with cinnamon and nutmeg, you’ll enjoy it very much.
On me the rum is taking over but it’s total eggnog and I love eggnog!
I’m so happy to wear this fragrance for the Christmas party in Nashville tonight. My husband loves it and says it smells delicious. In the opening you get a little red apple but it smells like apple dipped in alcohol, it’s still so very boozy, rich, and fragrant. I spritz only once and I’m good to go. In the development the fragrance turns to a good balance of spicy cinnamon and milky eggnog. Then it dries down to something like caramel (I’m assuming this is the marron glace). The marron glace smells like sugary sweet candied chestnuts. It just makes me want to party every time I wear it. This is a perfume you bring out of your wardrobe once a year – in December.
Merry Christmas & Thank You Demeter Fragrance!
And Fragrantica!

I received this as a gift with another Demeter fragrance. I don’t love it, that is, it’s just kind of…eh. I will say it does smell like Christmas, but it’s not something I would reach for immediately. I get a lot of apple and cinnamon in mine, which normally I would love, but then I think the it’s the rum that comes through and thoroughly spoils it for me.

This is exactly what the notes say..milky, cinnamon, nutty and delicious. I love wearing this in the winter. On snowy days, it is perfect. I get a lot of compliments on this fragrance.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE PARTY ROOM SPRAY
If you’re having a Christmas party spray the whole house with this fragrance. This is a gourmand fragrance but it has such a powerful syrupy sweetness that cannot possibly be worn as a perfume on your skin. I enjoy it a lot but prefer to smell it in the air. It’s a Christmas house party every time I smell it. It’s sweet and spicy with cinnamon, nutmeg, the milk in eggnog with rum, Marron glace and caramel apple. This is a well done gourmand scent but for me this is where gourmand fragrances belong: in the air as you walk under it. It’s beautiful and I love it but only take this baby out on Christmas Eve. I have also brought it with me to spray it on other people’s homes for their Xmas parties.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good fragrance
Deroxjfqca – :
Honestly, I love this! If you are a fan of Christmas scents generally (it is very similar to BBW’s ‘Tis the Season candle) then this will probably be up your alley. It smells like warmth, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and maybe slightly applely.
It’s not the most mature fragrance but then again, I usually gravitate towards the sweeter scents anyways 😀
Inaddyaffipsy – :
I agree, it’s a B&BW scent. Not something I’d have picked out for myself, a vanilla praline type of scent that would be nice as a holiday room spray.
skwirel – :
I’m glad I bought the purse spray. I’m reminded of every Bath & Body Works Christmas lotions. I won’t buy again.

Smells like a Yankee candle. Not really sure what it has to do with New York. Headache inducing.
sveta-dima – :
It lasts longer than other Demeter fragrances. I personally like it, but I don’t think this is really meant to be worn. I agree with abirae – it’s very reminiscent of a Yankee Candle scent, strong and artificial feeling. Fitting for a room spray. I don’t smell what the scent has to do with New York – I get spicy apple, cinnamon, and a backing of nuttiness. The other scents fade over time and you end up getting a sweet nuttiness. It’s a very nice holiday comfort scent.
Phyton – :
It smell like a roasting maple syrup. it may remind me my childhood..
smania – :
they shouldve had this smell more like..balsam,(xmas tree pine),cinnamon, snow(somehow),apple pie, and being its xmas in NY…throw some honey roasted peanuts, pretzels, and coffee.
nikolasoft – :
This smells like caramel corn. Plain & simple. That is EXACTLY what it smells like. I am getting no other notes whatsoever from this. Nothing even close to the description. Unfortunately I didn’t look this one up before buying it (and of course they won’t pay return shipping even though they “100% guarantee” their fragrances). Yuck, yuck, yuck… I get absolutely zero spice, NO apple whatsoever…. just straight buttery caramel corn smell. It’s really awful 🙁
halford – :
Yuck. Sweet caramel/spice/butter/condensed milk/Yankee Candle scent with INCREDIBLE silliage. It also has phenomenal lasting power.
