Similar to Tuscan Leather which I dislike only lighter and softer. Moderate performance overall.

It’s a medicinal leather coffee raspberry combination.
It has amber in large doses, and very much like a medicinal cognac. Allot of spices in here as well like nutmeg, and anise. Saffron, & red roses are there.
It could be similar to “Tuscan Leather” by Tom Ford somehow, but what i’m sure of is that both this fragrance & “Tuscan Leather” are using a cheap essential oils and quite poor blending technique.
It is quite in a very reasonable price for such a blend comparing to Tom Ford’s fragrances.

I had a bottle of the original MB but didn’t think it was worth keeping; I just dislike anything that comes across as remotely soap-like (isn’t that what soap is for? LOL). This one, though, is much more pleasant, though the raspberry type note, which tends more towards a wine/dried fruit quality, is a bit too strong for my tastes. I also wish it was stronger. I’ll have to try this one again because I usually get more clarity on the second wearing. Overall, the scent is excellent though without quite the balance I would like.

Leather pleasant fragrance type of Mark Birley. The opening fruity raspberry note suggests ways, the olfactory effect makes a nod to the legendary Ten Knize though it feels less sweet and incisive than this.
Ten is distinguished from Knize as soon spicy notes and coffee here much marked the course of the fragrance until the end they appear. Floral what is in third plane and drying tanned leather, woodsy, musky, with drier than sweet spot and a little balsamic, unpatterned invades all drydown.
Fragrance is complicated by the amount of notes and is well mixed, also it feels very wearable for any season, in addition charming, but it seems pale and lack of character to be a big inside the leather fragrances.

Elegant scent that opens with notes of coffee (the opening is not my favorite part). In the “middle notes” begins my favorite part … come in orange blossom, raspberry, rose, saffron and (Iris?) I can not hear the note of Iris although there is … after about 20 minutes evolves and become more “warm” thanks to amber and vanilla .. I really like the note “Oak moss” in this composition .. is a brilliant addition .. then, the leather makes a support with “Raspberry” giving the perfume a touch of class and originality! . Overall it is a fragrance versatile, elegant and suitable for the cold months (autumn more) the sillage is moderate, longevity pretty good (+ 8 hours on me)! Good!
    Sillage: 6/10
    Longevity: 7/10

The two fragrances from Mark Birley are mainly characterized by their quality and understated elegance. Charles Street is an impressive example of subtlety. One of the most delicate leather scents, where you can appreciate an excellent balance in its notes, highlighting the coffee and the lingering aroma of strawberries in the background. Moderate longevity and sillage that can be used in all seasons.

tuscan leather is for winter only but this one you can wear in the summer as well. the longevity however isn’t very great. 🙁

In the competition between the Tuscan Leather alternatives (Montale Aoud Leather, Golden Boy, Royal Leather, Charles Street and so on), Charles Street will likely be the one I get a full bottle of.
Don’t get me wrong I love Tuscan Leather, but it’s basically only good for cooler weather. Charles Street works for cooler weather AND any other time you might want to wear it. Which will probably be a lot, because it’s great.
Not the most powerful scent –and certainly not as powerful as the Tom Ford or Montale– I prefer it this way. It comes across as more wearable, more sensual, and given the sexy leather vibe of this scent that suits it just fine.
    Highly recommended.

Okay so put it on and I didn’t like it. Smelled odd and too strong, but then unexpectedly quickly dried down to Le Labo Neroli 36. Crazy right? Just my experience.

    A REFINED LEATHER + RASPBERRY
Opening whiff – some type of hard liquor – a nice surprise. This leaves immediately, and a well blended leather and raspberry take hold and never leave during the ‘moderate’ longevity.
The florals support, and on occasion I was able to appreciate the coffee playing peek-a-boo.
Want a more refined/elegant Tuscan Leather? Look no further.

Is this the Tuscan Leather beater/alternative? Well… perhaps. As the numerical scores on the user-perceived notes suggest, this could be considered a berry-leather scent while Tuscan Leather is a leather-berry scent. Charles Street is sweeter. It goes on with an interesting, boozy, berry liqueur note that lasts for only a few moments – very interesting. And I like the subtle coffee note.
    A winner!
But. Truth to tell? I prefer Tuscan Leather.

In my reverie, I’m seeing myself enter a room of moderate temperature with grey, luxuriously padded walls of suede and a crimson carpet. There are gentle wisps of raspberry scent being piped into this room through the air vents. Mixed with the grey suede padding on the walls, one gets the feeling that an elegant event is about to take place in this room……in my reverie. Jolted awake, I realize how much I appreciate this exquisite, sophisticated cologne and will ALWAYS have it in my collection.

Playful juxtaposition of raspberries and leather. A bit lightweight for me and a tad on the sweet side, but I can see it perhaps as a pleasant choice in a much younger man’s rotation of scents.

Starts out recklessly close to Blood Concept’s O, but adds coffee and spares us the cheese-ball metallic effect of the latter. There’s an herbal bitterness at the helm that sweetens to reveal a pleasant saffron; but as the auxiliary notes gestate, it’s the leather / berry combo that stands tallest. The problem is that the leather lacks any real subtlety, instead casting a stiff shadow across the berries, and resulting the kind of grating effect of the Tom Ford leather. I want to like it so much more than I actually do.

I completely concur with Ovaltine – this is a WINNER! Very similar to TF Tuscan Leather but perhaps a tad sweeter and only slightly less smoky. A BEAUTIFUL fragrance that takes its name from one of the most charming streets in the world just off Berkeley Square in London.

A nearly identical, less expensive alternative to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. Same terrific combination of rasberries and leather that jump in almost immediately. I had trouble detecting any other notes here. Longevity might be just a bit less than TFTL but still lasts 6+ hours on my skin. A winner.

stunning leather scent, this is not your conventional harsh leather perfume it’s calm and subdued excellent for someone how doesn’t like flaunty elegance, it lasts on me for at least 8 hours, and it projects effortlessly great for every occasion, frankly l own both Tuscan leather and charles street, and l find myself using the late frequently.

Imagine a clean-cut, modern masculine with a naughty, playful side. Now breathe in the scent of dusty raspberry on a bed of leather. Voila, Charles Street!
Versatile enough to go from office wear to a night on the town, this atmospheric fragrance can be enjoyed as a virtual olfactory journey through the members-only Mark’s Club on Charles Street in Mayfair, London. As you arrive you’re greeted by coffee, angelica (from the parsley family), nutmeg and thyme. Seated at your table, the rich leather chairs and dry spices of mace and saffron waft through the air. For dessert, just the right amount of sweetness from vanilla and lily of the valley balanced with warm, resinous amber and the wet earth of patchouli.
While the scent disappears after four hours on me, the delight can be extended to 12 hours if you let some spray land on your shirt when you apply it.
Like Mark Birley for Men, Charles Street uses natural smelling, high quality ingredients.
But the real attraction of Birley fragrances may be what they’re not. Not loud. Not feminine. Not musk bombs.
Charles Street could be the perfect fit for a gentleman who appreciates reserved, understated elegance and flirtatious glances.

This is a very nice EDP, I love it. It’s warm, masculine, classy, versatile, with the right amount of sweetness. To my nose it’s basically leather and moss with light floral notes on top.
The only negative I can find is longevity; it lasts about 2-3 hours. I’d make an excellent signature fragrance.

Being the original Mark Birley For Men on of my favourite fragrance ever I was extremely curious about Charles Street and I’ve to admit that my high expectations have been almost fully satisfied.
An unique concoction of unsweetened coffee , sweet leather, nutmeg and floral patterns that’s rich, elegant and very serious (formal?). Charles street opens very bitter with coffee and nutmeg while angelica add a slightly green aspect. Leather makes its appearance right away balancing the general austerity with some sweetness while floral patterns enrich this composition with sophisticated and refined details. The overall effect is extremely distinctive and original without being odd, rich but civilized. A perfect blend for anyone looking for a fragrance that is at the same time unique and extremely wearable. Mascuilne in a whole new way.
I still prefer the original Mark Birley For Men but, honestly, Charles Street is still highly recommended.
