Smells like a celebrity type of scent. For those who might be wondering “what” is meant by that, well, to my nose, this smells cloying, synthetic, very manufactured. But the bottle is pretty. In defense of some celeb scents, there are some celeb scents that are stunners, but for the most part just smell very cheap and synthetic and unnatural, to my nose, anyway. The bottle (the cap, really, and the color purple is pretty) is so pretty, though, that I do want to keep this. Crazy, eh..? The scent itself is not bad, it is pretty mainstream, actually. Just too “chemical” and synthetic smelling to my nose.
The pic’s here don’t do the bottle justice. It’s really kind of pretty.
Again, not a terrible scent, just not one I see me reaching for. But I do love the bottle. I think this is one that could easily be over-sprayed/sprayed too heavily, so a couple of spritzes is plenty. I also think this could be headache-inducing or bad for those with allergies, asthma, etc, so I don’t think I would wear this in an office setting, or anywhere you will be in close contact with people for any length of time.

Dana needs to advertise this perfume. No one knows about it. It’s not in shops anywhere. I only learned about from a sampler bought in 2016. Hunted it down on the dana website and bought it for christmas 2017. So new, light, fresh. pretty packaging, pretty bottle. Dana really put some thought into chantilly eau de vie. Work and church safe.

I am in love with this. It’s a velvety, cozy, lighthearted fruity floral. There’s something pure and fresh about it, but I can feel the amber underneath too. It’s just plain pretty and innocent yet womanly at the same time. It works well in both hot and cold weather. Don’t let the Frangipani fool you either, it doesn’t have a beachy/sunblock feel whatsoever. It lasts a very long on me, literally all day, morning til night, but it’s pretty soft. Nothing that would offend.
If I had never received a lovely sample from UnearthlyApothecary (thank you!), I’d never have tried this…ever. Of course I’ve since purchased a full bottle, and it has become my ultimate bedtime scent. I’ve worn it to work a few times too, but I’ve worn it to bed every day for the past couple of weeks.

Despite the name, this isn’t a flanker of CHANTILLY. In contrast to the famous vintage fragrance, the relatively new EAU DE VIE (launched in 2015) is a light, pleasant floral that reminds me of the many times I’ve used various prettily-scented soaps or lotions and thought it would be nice if there were a matching spray. Admittedly, modest florals aren’t my usual thing, but sometimes I’m in the mood for them and I find them especially nice on a hot day.
Sillage here is on the light side and it lasts about 3-4 hours on me. I don’t mind the short longevity because I can apply EAU DE VIE once or twice during the day and it will be gone by the time I want to wear something stronger and/or more exotic for evening. The bottle is rather tacky-looking, but my collection “lives” in a walk-in closet and I usually don’t keep empties.

Damn, for some reason my review got posted as a guest…..the review below is mine.

Very creamy light white floral with a delicious pear note. Very far from the original Chantilly but a modern composition I really love. I think this is perfect for summer and despite the lightness the silage is pretty decent. Dana and Coty scents don’t get much respect but these drug store gems have so much to offer for next to nothing if you are willing to give them a try.

A creamy “pink” floral for young women or teens. Kind of like Justin Bieber’s Collector’s Edition. If you are a fan of Halle Berry Pure Orchid, you’ll probably appreciate this one.

Hmm..the notes dont list aquatic but it is. I like it..but its verrrry light.good for exercising in warm weather I guess..might work well for layering. Would not repurchase tho.
Nicer in the dry down!!!!

I bought this scent as part of a Dana gift set which I purchased for myself on clearance sale.
Chantilly Eau de Vie has good longevity and sillage, better than I was expecting.
The very realistic pear opens this fragrance, then I get the wonderful white flowers, which are light but sensual. The drydown is powdery and spicy, with a hint of the actual Chantilly perfume scent.
This is a sexy fragrance, but also rather elegant.

So it’s FINALLY in the database!
I came across Eau de Vie quite near the beginning of my perfume hobby, on clearance at Walmart for $7. I figured for $7 I didn’t have much to lose, so I snapped it up. Well, after one wearing I was on Ebay getting a back-up (I got back-ups of everything in those days).
Aquatic fruity florals aren’t generally my jam, but EdV is SO PRETTY and perfect for summer. It reminds me in a way of J’Adore, but better. It opens a very juicy pear with a hint of tartness, and then the florals come into play and they’re downright narcotic. Projection and longevity are quite good, better than you’d expect for the price. This is an underrated gem.
