Description

A flower with a Persian origin has been re-imagined by a Greek perfumer born in Istanbul. A perfect clash between the white sparkle of Jasmine petals, the sensuality of ambergris (as captured and re-interpreted in the Ambrox molecule) and the darker, carnal effect of amber. Celestial Jasmine was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Ilias Ermenidis.

This is my signature fragrance at the moment. I originally went to the store to buy Tom Ford’s Jasmin Rouge, but the lasting power is so bad I just couldn’t get passed that, then I smelled Celestial Jasmine and i was so incredible in love with this perfume that I was like “this is it”. Let me start by saying you will smell like a jasmine, last a long time and silage is a full room! Let me not forget to say that this bottle is the most feminine beautiful bottle I have even seen!

Celestial Jasmine is lovely – a pretty, light, airy floral, with a definite jasmine being the most noticeable, but it has a perfect blend of floral and creamy softness. It’s very beautiful.

It’s rare that I ever love a floral perfume, let alone jasmine. I just got a sample of this and am shocked by how much I love it. As it dries, it evolves from a pure, linear jasmine to a dynamic, warm, and intoxicating floral that actually has some “it” factor. The warm base notes gove an otherwise plain floral note a nice intoxicating pull that keeps me sniffing for more. Most florals give me a headache or just seem too boring, overdone, and…perfumey. What I enjoy about this one is that it’s light and unoffensive, but warm and intoxicating at the same time. I think this will layer well with one or both of a musk oil or amber oil / going to try that out later 🙂

I ordered this sample despite my usual aversion to jasmine-heavy fragrances. If you like your jasmines indolic, this won’t be the fragrance for you. It’s a sheer jasmine, made slightly green by prominent linden blossom and a hint of narcissus. There is a very vague freesia note (which makes me happy, since freesia is generally awful on me), and a ‘silk tree blossom’ note that is uncanny in its resemblance to the real thing. There is definite light musk in the drydown. This won’t win over any jasmine fanatics, but it is a lovely spring garden fragrance that I would absolutely wear. It would fit right in with the Hermessences line, and could be mistaken for a JC Ellena fragrance.
