Mintily cool without smelling like gum, slightly woody and mossy without being that clear, clean without smelling soapy or like detergent. Clean dirt, kind of. Fades quickly into faintness, mere suggestion of mint and moss and only if I press nose to wrist. Disappointing longevity, but interesting on.

the story here is definitely mint –> oakmoss –> ambergris. A nice experience as it warms as it goes along.

Cathode is a rather interesting scent. The ambergris and moss work at odds with one another in the beginning, and as the fragrance progresses they tend towards harmonization. On the initial opening, the oakmoss leads the charge with a rather brash, green scent that almost gives off a cold feeling – something like you would imagine in a laboratory filled with all kinds of metal or steel….unforgiving and cold.
A little while in and the ambergris begins to warm up the coldness of the oakmass and offer it some balance. The headiness of the moss dies down somewhat, but remains the centerpiece of this fragrance. The overall picture reminded me of a job in a warehouse I used to have about a decade ago when we would open the dock door up and let the breeze blow in on a spring day. Not quite my style, but some may enjoy this.
