I received this sample with an order and probably wouldn’t have picked it on my own. I don’t always like rose centered fragrances, but this one really works for me! The sweet and fruity top notes, fresh rose heart, and soft sandalwood base are a beautiful combination. This is one of my favorite Dame scents. I plan to try all of the Dame fragrances and I’m sure to have many favorites!

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that I won this in a giveaway.
However, that fact has zero impact on this review.
Anyway…
I can sum this fragrance up in one word: pretty.
But since I have the space, I will write something a little more in-depth. 🙂
It’s strange to say, but I keep thinking that if ivory or light pink lace had a scent, this would be it.
Just judging by the name of it, I wouldn’t have guessed that this would smell so clean, but it does.
There’s some fruity-berry-ish in the opening, but it’s not sticky sweet. The rose is recognizable, certainly, but even before I read the notes, I picked up on the fact that it’s not just rose. Then I had the “a-ha” moment when I read the notes listed here and saw peony. The combination of peony, rose and sandalwood (<3 I so love sandalwood!) is what’s giving the over-all “clean” feeling to this.
Eventually, the sandalwood dominates and I can sometimes catch a bit of the osmanthus, too. It smells dry but never really powdery on me like many other floral + sandalwood fragrances can become.
I like it very, very much.

Be well and smell good!

One of my favorite perfumers is Sophia Grosjman, and my favorite scent by her is Exclamation. This scent by Dame Perfumery takes the same idea of jammy fruit and rose, but amps the base with sandalwood rather than white musk to great success. The scent is remarkably fresh and invigorating, and quite suitable for a man to wear.

This is easily one of the most cheerful, yet soothing perfumes I have ever worn. It just smells of juicy, sweet, rosy pink splendor.
There is a fresh dewiness about this. The rose is lush and prominent but balanced well with cassis so that is smells like a drinkable fruity rose.
Uncluttered and friendly, smells divine. This is becoming an often grabbed for mood lifter!
On the downside, my family thinks it’s a little too rosy. But they like Desert Rose! I don’t understand….

This is gorgeous! I received generous samples with my order, which I’m impressed by.
Rose is the main player on my skin, with cassis playing second fiddle!just downright beautiful!

I’m a dude and rose fragrances generally trigger unpleasant olfactory memories along with a bit of trepidation. However, I didn’t mind this scent one bit and, if fact, kinda liked it, which is saying a lot for a rose fragrances.
What I detect juicy-jammy berries, a smooth not-to-loud but full-flavored rose, and some other floral tones and a creamy sandalwood vibe (both muted) wrapped in that telltale Dame fragrance DNA that I cannot describe, but I know it when I smell it.
Not to sound like a complete idiot, but I had no idea what cassis was prior to sniffing this fragrances so I pleased to discover it’s a berry liquor (what I was sniffing) and not that green leaf depicted in the notes pyramid. Anyway, I have a couple samples and performance was very good on my daughter in that it lasted 7-8 hours and projected moderately and left a nice scent trail, which is perfect for this kind of scent.
Dame, you’ve done it again…making gardenia, tuberose, and rose fragrances that even I love smelling on the ladies. In fact Lime, Gardenia & Benzoin has replaced Chanel Gardenia as her favorite gardenia scent…and I love smelling it on her.

This is a gem in the Dame collection. Definately going to get a full bottle of this. Sweet cassis and rose. Throughly modern. A must try.

I’m not sure quite what I was expecting when I tested this; it definitely was not to be blown away! Jeffrey Dame is certainly not someone to ignore or to NOT expect great things from, however it takes quite a bit for me to get excited by a new take on a rose – but this did it for me.
In the interest of full-disclosure, I was suffering from a severe migraine when I applied this scent to my right hand for testing – I was uncertain as to whether or not I would want to smell it or not, but rose has the ability to sometimes soothe, so I thought: “why not?”.
I was so entranced by the entire scent – though I will admit that my nose did not detect the sandalwood, it may have been so well-blended that I was simply unaware. I just know that I awoke this morning with the gentle vestiges of the scent still lingering and the knowledge that this would soon join my collection as a full bottle.

CR&S is a lovely little sweet and sour number that is perfect for fans of subtle, refined fragrances. It opens with a playful juicy cassis, which actually never really went away for me. Further into the drydown, I experienced a warm rose that hugs the skin, still with those tangy undertones. Normally, I am someone who tends toward “loud” scents, and I will admit that I was a little concerned about the sillage and longevity of this one. While I do wish that it were a little more noticeable, I also caught whiffs of it at times that I thought for sure it would be long gone. I think that ensuring that a little gets onto your clothes will prolong the olfactory experience. Many thanks to Jeffrey Dame for the thoughtful sample. Sure can’t be beat for customer service! This makes a great alternative to the omnipresent summer aquatics and citruses.

Cassis just works on my skin and I love it. This fragrance is beautiful and perfectly balanced between rose, woods and the cassis. I rarely wear a perfume more than once a week, and I’ve worn this one for about 4 days in a row. Cassis gives a greeness somehow to this perfume, not a sharp green but an uplifting one. Highly recommended for rose lovers. I adore it!

This fragrance has become a favorite since I bought a bottle a couple of weeks ago. It opens with a really lovely rose, a confident rose, but not overpowering. It is grounded by the cassis, which adds a great curranty tart base to keep the rose from becoming ‘too much’ rose. The lemon note soon enters, making the fragrance sparkle and smell lovely and fresh on you skin. The peony develops later on and the drydown of this one is really pretty as you begin to smell the sandalwood and amber. The musk is there to keep this lovely scent going for hours, but does not overpower at all.
Cassis Rose is a beautifully balanced and composed gem. This fragrance has very good sillage and the longevity is over 12 hours. I can put this on in the early evening and it still smells fresh the next morning and is more than just a skin scent. Cassis, Rose & Sandalwood is a classic beauty and I am so glad I have a full bottle. Recommended to all. As with all of the Dame Perfumery scents, the quality is amazing.

I received this as a sample that I won, thank you to both Jeffrey Dame and Fragrantica. I love this. It has a fresh and vibrant feel that also allows some of the rose to appear but the sweetness is not overpowering. I find this great for the warmer weather that has decided to grace us. I’m also looking forward to trying the others that were sent, but this is a lovely fragrance. Develops nicely, good sillage. Well done!
