nothing like the bitter chypre original; sandalwood, vanilla and some light florals; pretty, average and mainstream

I got a sample of this..wore it to work and I have never had such a positive reaction…it lasted over 12hours on me..smells luxurious yet clean & warm

Got a sample of this when I purchased a full bottle of another fragrance and I’m not much of a fan. It’s too woody and only has a faint hint of amber. All I smell is wood and some overly sweet note. It’s also very cloying because I tried washing it off about three times and can’t seem to get rid of the scent. So at least it has longevity. Perhaps this will work better for someone else.

This one is just a one dimensional wood and wood with a weak amber base. I could hardly detect jasmine at all, even though in the heat like this, jasmine supposes to shine more in general. It does have a fainted DNA of the original Cashmere but not by much. It is what it is: a three-note fragrance and that’s it. The most “boring” Cashmere of the whole line, IMO. It is available at my Macy’s now for testing.
If I don’t like it now, I doubt that I would like it better later in cooler months, as I think it is absolutely not a heavy frag at all. Sillage is soft to medium soft, and longevity is 3 hours max.

Oh god. I’m pretty open minded but I just can’t with this. It’s really headache inducing and pungent.

Just got a purse spray of Cashmere Mist Essence, the top notes are a bit challenging to my nose, it is almost like there is oud in it, I think that spiciness comes from the marroccan jasmine, the sandalwood maybe, but not my favorite part,,.it is very woodsy to start with…then it settles into a very nice smooth skin scent….so the opening is kind of oriental, but that phase is short lived..the base is a smooth veil, really nice…now, I don’t think I would get a bottle, although in winter, it would be very warm and enveloping., especially with that smooth amber in the base….for now, not rushing to buy it, but it is certainly well done, faithful to the other Cashmere versions…not the best in my opinion, but nicely done..

New this year for 2018, and the bottle looks so much like the original..*sigh* Why do companies do this?
Anyway, on me, the opening blast reminds me of a cheap fragrance from the 70’s, and then this settles into the softest Oriental I’ve ever smelled (and a little slightly powdery). Meh..
Poofs in less than half an hour for me, and that was a with good 4 heavy sprays just on my inner elbow. Once this does settle, though, I am able to pick up each individual note: the moroccan jasmine, the amber, the sandalwood. It is light, which is nice to me for an Oriental, as my skin tends to amp up Orientals (especially in the heat and humidity like we are having right now). But my guess is in the Winter this will perform even less impressive/weaker for me.
UPDATE: Tested this for a second time and this is awful on my skin. Synthetic…cloying…overly sweet. This might be nice in cold months, but I am not even going to hang onto this until the cold months. Donation pile this goes!! 🙁
