Sophisticated and complex scent. The opening coffee/dark chocolate note is lovely but somewhat fleeting. It gives way to spices and some underlying bitter notes. As I am not a fan of super-sweet gourmands, this is just fine with me. Has a similar feel to L’Artisan Noir Exquis, minus the chestnut. This is one of the better Alkemias I have sampled.

This is one of my absolute favourites from Alkemia. The name is really fitting, cause this smells like a fascinating journey that goes through many different lands, from city to city and market to market.
It opens with a rich and aromatic coffee note. It really smells like newly brewed coffee, slightly earthy and bitter. The most gorgeous coffee smell I’ve come across in a perfume, so far, actually.
A soft, warm spicyness from cardamom and cinnamon joins the coffee. A subtle fruity sweetness softens the bitterness of the coffee bean, and adds a gentle and inviting aura to the scent.
Leather is not mentioned in the notes, but to my nose there is an earthy and leathery undercurrent in this scent. It gives the fragrance depth and a feeling of camel saddles and dry desert wind. Truly the smell of a caravan.
That wonderful coffee note really lingers. It gives the scent a lovely contrast. The coffee brings to mind a pause, like sitting around a desert campfire, sipping a pitch dark, hot and fragrant cup of joe. While the scent overall smells like movement and travel.
The sillage is medium, and the longevity is about 6-8 hours on my skin.
Such a beauty. Deserves to be experienced!
