I tried this perfume but i didnt find it attractive, it is just a pleasant scent.

I bought this when it was first released and loved it. Didn’t think it had a lot going on for it, in the performance area. Used it all up and didn’t buy again.
Fasterward to this week I got a brand new bottle and I enjoy it even more now. My nose and tastes have become more developed and now I pick up more notes in this. And did they improve this scent?!? Because it projected well and lasted my whole workday in the office. This stuff is rather unique imho.
a great suit scent or office scent?
    Try it!

another generic, syntetic creation by Morillas. There are many many others like that. Really boring. Save some money and get something more serious than these kind of mass pleaser jokes.

Bvlgari Man is an elegant, manly, soft & subtle scent, suitable for warm weather and very high temperatures, with an air of previous era (vetiver and honey do some magic) but still modern and safe. It’s one of the best releases from Bvlgari IMO. Overall it feels clean, fresh, woody on a musky base, very manly.
The opening is green, fresh, aromatic and spicy. Opens with a blast of pepper and coriander with traces of watery lotus and green violet leaf note with a tiny and faint pear at the background. As time passes comes to the surface a dry and clean vetiver with the soft white honey accord. There’s also soft woody notes at the background with a faint bergamot and cashmere wood. The whole composition feels soft-creamy so does the sandalwood, very soft and delicate. Dominant notes are vetiver, honey, sandalwood, musk with some mild benzoin.
A pleasant surprise was its longevity. Because it’s quite soft scent I thought it would also be weak but not. The longevity is high-moderate, about 6 maybe 7 hours. The sillage is moderate to soft and the projection is soft. Most of its life is a skin scent. Very subtle but present.
Some have voted it as similar to Amouage Honour Man which I own so I suggest them at least go and sniff this Amouage because it has nothing in common with this Bvlgari scent. Not even close.

Apparently, it’s been discontinued, which explains why I haven’t been able to find it at Sephora or my local department stores. Shame. It’s an easy, clean scent perfect for everyday wear.

I recently rescued a three-quarters full bottle of this fragrance from my day job at a junk removal company along with a couple of others. I considered reselling it with the others but it quickly grew on me.
The initial opening reminds me of a warm mug of tea, likely from the strong honey note since I usually drown my tea in honey. The combined vetiver, woody, and floral notes remind me of hiking through the woods just after a rainstorm.
This combination of factors has led me to wear this fragrance almost exclusively on cool cloudy or rainy days for its soothing effects.
Longevity is average on me, and I’ve been complimented on it from across the living room of a one-bedroom apartment.

I’m in the same boat as many others here… The scent is masculine and seductive, simply amazing! However the longevity is non-existent.

I WOULD not buy any of MORRILAS creations, JUST Because of the bad performance issues. not spending my hard earned money on SWEET WATER. THIS IS BULLSHIT.

I love the smell of this fragrance, I really do…but what the hell is with the lack of performance? It is really bad. The fragrance isn’t a powerhouse to begin with, it subtle but I can live with that. What I can’t live with is it disappearing all together in one hour.

Fresh, clean, real masculine fragrance. The top note is a good combintaion of bergamot, violet leaf and lotus, but after few minutes the whole compostion changeing a lot, and become an unpleasant, very very sour vetiver-woody combination (unfortunately my skin is not vetiver compatible… has the same problem with Terre d’Hermes…). Than 2 hours later when this sour woody feeling gone, it will be good again, and you can smell the sweet base with honey, sandalwood and tonka bean. A real chameleon scent, changing in every hour. You can really feel the top, mid and the base notes. Because of the poor middle notes, and poor sillage this scent is in my „don’t like it” category. On paper, smells hundred times better
    – Spring/summer/fall daytime scent, only for men over 30. Not too loud, so this one is a perfect office wear.
    – Sillage is below the average, longevity is around 5 hours
    – Safe blind buy
    Scent (open, top-mid)): 6.5/10 (x2)

I had this in 2010 and it was really strong on me but i just bought a 100ml in 2017 and it was so weak that after 2 hrs there was no trace of the scent. I am so disappointed. could it be that this has been reformulated just like every other designers?…too bad

    (May 2017)
To me, this one gently whispers “spicy cat urine” for some reason… Had to try a couple different sources to verify it wasn’t a bad sample. Pretty gross IMO.

Impeccably smooth woody/floral scent with a touch of honey. Mature, professional, yet unique and sexy at the same time. For some reason this evokes the image of clean, grey concrete.

Float like a cloud, swing from a tree? Thats what I get from this fragrance. Bvlgari Man has an incredible floral opening, a very fresh springlike floral opening with just a hint of pear. We are set up for a very soft sweetness in this scent. The honey is very present and very floral, perfectly in line with the story this scent has to tell. The vetiver signals the opening of the mid notes which are woods, cashmere wood, sandal wood with a bit of amber. The cashmere wood keeps the scent’s airy nature and helps the scent pivot from woody to floral. The dry down greets you with musk and the cypriol oil to create an almost sort of earthy, leather base which tames the tonka. This scent is well blended, and is perfectly executed by sticking to a very airy spring theme. BH is elegant and very classy. This scent is masculine in its earthiness and smells unique and mature (think mid thirties mature… at least I hope I was mature at that age?). This scent earns it’s spot in anyone’s collection and should be worn on a spring afternoon under a nice green sports coat, whilst discovering a new museum or some local art exhibit.

it smelled so soft and really woody. Others will know the smell of this perfume if he/she is very close to you. The clear color of the liquid perfume and very soft smell indicates that the perfume is suitable for an office job with a white shirt.

    Bvlgari with another one.
Great scent…it’s generic with a hint of honey and pear.
Sillage arm’s length, last about six hours on my clothes and three hours on skin.
Would I buy this again, I don’t know.
I bought this years ago, and I had to try it out again.
To remind myself how it smells.
There’s so much dust on this bottle.
    3.4 Oz Bottle for $20-$30 I don’t remember how much I spent.
    I wouldn’t buy it again.
It’s going back on the shelf to collect dust.

I actually quite like the smell itself but, unfortunately, it’s one of the worst performing fragrances that I’ve ever came upon. I blind bought it, and because of the terrible performance I’m not really happy with my purchase.

This is my favorite cool/cold weather formal scent – a clean, complex, woody, masculine line straight to everything I aspire to be.
I wear this to work at least once a week, and though I’m more a fan of casual get-togethers with friends than black-tie affairs, the next one of those I attend, this refined, woody-vetyver-amber/honey gentleman will be on the dresser ready to wear well before I’ve picked out my suit.
Yes it has longevity issues – but at least on my skin it’s detectable 7-8 hours after application but it’s pretty affordable so I do go heavy on my “delicate-scent” routine – pulse-points, two on the chest, one on the back of the head and I get pretty good performance that way (a couple of hours of decent projection than 4-6 hours as a skin scent is typical on my skin). This is probably aided by the fact that I wear it almost exclusively with long-sleeves, so that probably helps preserve it a bit longer than if I were wearing it casually.
The exceptional bottle has a variable applicator – a hard, full press for a fine mist and a softer half-press for a steady stream and heavier application.
I also like to wear this on my fasting or low-cal days, because I feel like James effing Bond when I wear it, and James effing Bond doesn’t get mustard on his cuffs while scarfing down a cheeseburger… thanks, James.
Overall I am extremely happy with it and the “Man” bottle that’s both attractive and highly functional, and I’m exploring the flankers now.

Sprayed this on at Kohl’s about 2 hours ago…the scent was fantastic, dry down was to awesome…operative word in those statements “WAS”…a couple hours later, maybe closer to 3, and I can’t really smell it. IDK if it’s olfactory fatigue, or what, but if this is the typical performance it’s a real shame, because this is one of my favorite scents…

This cologne smells too soapy for me and I made the mistake of spraying maybe too much to the point that I wanted to puke. I have had others smell this and they either say it smells too powdery or like an old woman. This my friends is trending on Thallium teritory. I would advise not wearing it anywhere near your neck if soapy smells offend your nose. If that is the case you may be able to get away with spraying this on the wrists or on your chest under your shirt. Just two powdery for my taste.

Man is your fairly typical fresh woodsy scent.
It opens with a superb violet leaf note that is combined with some sublte lotus flower and sweet citrus. It’s a bright and fresh opening accord that’s really well made, and quite different from most other fresh fragrances.
The violet leaf is then joined by hints of smoky vetiver and hints of fresh woods. The violet and vetiver combo gives the fragrance a slightly earthy tinge at this point, that set’s it apart from the pack.
The base is a subtle combination of sweet honey, black tea and musk.
It’s hard to really describe what I like about Bvlgari Man from the notes, as it’s a fragrance that needs a proper wearing to show it’s full potential.
What I like about Bvlgari Man is it’s distinctive subtleness. Take Terre d’Hermés for instance. I adore it, but it’s heavy handed and brash. In comparison, Bvlgari Man is light and subtle. It lets the notes breathe and unfold.
Of course it has it’s downsides. It can come across as generic and safe, and it’s perhaps a tad bit synthetic. But I can deal with all of that, because the fragrance itself works perfectly.
Longevity is good – 6-7 hours.
    Rating: 7/10

  35. :

If you look at suggestions for everyday office fragrances, you’ll most often get either 1) a clean or citrusy fresh scent like Bleu De Chanel, or 2) a serious, most probably vetiver scent like Terre D’Hermes.
The problem is, that I don’t really like either. The Terre’s of the world are too serious for me, and the Bleu De Chanels are too laundered or generic in their mood.
Bvlgari Man is an interesting alternative: it’s got a slight seriousness due to the vetiver, but also something (the honey?) that makes it feel younger and even just a tad sexy. I really liked it as soon as I smelled it and it suits my office needs as an early-30s just perfectly.
The problem is the longevity and projection. I’ve never experienced a scent so fleeting, I mean, blink and you’ll miss it. As others have said, that could almost be its strength, in that it makes it versatile and unassuming. But this is just too weak even for that, even though I love the scent. I’ll happily wear down the bottle, but due to that, I may not buy another. Instead I’ll continue my search for another youthful vetiver, except this time one that lasts… if there is such a thing out there.
Update: was getting notes of pencil shavings wafting up to my nose on the drydown while at work. Would be nice if the violet persisted longer to avoid this.

guest_, Bvlgari Man Extreme/All Blacks or Homme Soir. Former is fresh and citricy still reminding you of Bvlgari Man, latter is smooth, fresh, a little sweet and citrucy.
I’d say Homme Soir is a better option, unless you’re into manly completely sweetless, citrusy, dry and a bit bitter scents, which this Bvlgari Man perfectly is (or Man Extreme is, only fresher and more projection). Today, when I finally tried Homme Soir I regretted buying a 100ml tester of Man instead of it a month before – Homme Soir is smoother, very lightly sweet and much more elegant.

There’s something about this perfume very intriguing for me since first spray. I love how it makes me feel fresh, but not summery fresh, and smell good in the morning and afternoon.
This goes well in and off the office. I agree with one of the comment below, it won’t make you smell outstanding, but it will definitely makes you smell good.
For the citrus smell comparison, I would categorized the citrus smell in this juice smell and feel like Versace eau Fraiche (VeF), however in VeF the citrus smells solid throughout it lifetime from middle to base, while in Bvlgari Man the citrus smell airy or ozonic which make it more appealing and turns into a little bit honey sweet which makes it settle down with just a hint of sweetness.
    The low down is :
    – First spray might be a little harsh (too citrusy) but this just for seconds
    – Silage, Projection and Longevity is average and sometimes low, you have to do more amounts of spray to make this noticeable.
    3 words to describe it… I LOVE it…
I found it hard to get the same pleasant citrusy perfume replacement…. in other words….I want Bvlgari Man with stronger SPL.

The dry down on this is everything!!!! Most are right about this scent not being a powerhouse, but you can definitely over spray if you’re not careful. The opening is very smooth with this woody touch to it. I would say it’s a professional cologne but not like a snob, more like a gentleman. The honey adds a nice touch also, however it’s different from the type of honey in “TMPH”. This citrus plays the background when all of the notes settle and you’re left with a scent that will get you compliments because it’s fresh, masculine, but subtle in a good way. 8.5/10

    4 out of 5

Great scent, it smells very fresh, clean, and masculine. I get a lot of citrus and honey and what smells like tea and patchouli right off the top. I don’t think patchouli or tea are listed as notes, but something that resembles them comes through in the initial top notes. It could be the bergamot and honey referencing the smell of earl grey tea with lemon.
In the middle, there is a slight woody, citrus, pine smell that lasts for the majority of the life of this scent. In the last stages of the dry down, the vetiver begins to show through.
This is a great versatile EDT and is safe for the office. It is basically a spring/summer day scent. Performance is moderate and I do have to reapply after 3 or 4 hours, but it smells great.

I am so frustrated with the House Bvlgari. I own two. Bvlgari Man and Bvlgari Aqua pour homme. When I first sprayed each of them on I was in heaven. “That’s how a man should smell” I exclaimed. Heaven I tell you. Within minutes, not even an hour each of them is a skin scent on me. It is so darn frustrating because Bvlgari should be one of my favorite houses. To me it is the champion of the top note. Unfortunately, like a fight against Mike Tyson in his prime, it gets knocked out after Rd. 1. Maybe I should try Extreme?

it doesn’t give you smells unique, but only give you smells good.
unfortunately, longevity still max 3hours on me (at office 18*C) & sillage still very soft.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

Believe the hype. It is very soft and could be categorized as below average projection and longevity frags even for office or private affairs, but it does not mean it is bad. first watered down honey and floral notes(mostly lotus) are recognized . vetiver is extraordinarily weak and undetectable so if you are into vetiver as a masculine ingredient, beware that Bvlgari MAN is not for you. Amber, Lemon and Tonka has the same story. After one hour it is a true skin sent. Honey is still there with a very weak musk. Since it is very clean and soft I use it after shower before bed time that gives me a double clean feeling. Any other application? you can spray half of bottle for day time in office but if nobody can smell you, forget to complain!

  46. :

    4 out of 5

I thought this would be a toned down version of Bvlagri Extreme, but it goes off in a completely different direction entirely during the outset. Extremely strong similarity to Guerlain Homme for the first hour and then begins developing into a resemblence to BE.

my love for this peace of Art will never ends.
It is calm, sitting by its own minding its own business. Everybody is so laud and rude, and this guy acts like it doesn’t even care. When the party is at its highest this guy stands up. Everyone looked at it, and all of the sudden they become quite because Bvlgari Man is so handsome, so innocent, with a lot of love in its eyes. They go quite because they realize its a peace of Heaven among them on earth. The party is over now. They are gathered around the new finding to hear its stories, and learn from him.

The problem with Bvlgari Man – you know, Saturday was fragrance shop day, and I was looking for autumn stuff. I sampled Bvlgari Man in Black the other day and was blown away, but thought it too dark for every day office wear. So, I sampled the plain ole Bvlgari Man. It’s got a very strong alcohol opening, which thankfully passes after a minute or so – what you’re left with is something akin to a body moisturiser with a strong element of honey, which smells very warm on the skin. I’m not sure where the ‘woody’ notes are supposed to be – everything is so well blended together, it just creates are rather intoxicating and ‘different’ scent. I said body moisturiser because this really is a skin scent. I don’t get any projection out of it. I can literally put on 20 sprays and contort my body or shake my hands in front of the wife, and she’ll wince in concentration to catch the scent. THIS, is a snuggling scent. Its for intimate moments. Perhaps if you used it with the shower gel you’d get some projection, or perhaps I’m just the wrong skin type? It worked best lunchtime at the gym – I ran from work to the gym and after about 5 minutes of exercise, there it was. So, maybe its a Summer scent that reacts best to heat – knowing my luck, I’ll probably get mistaken and stung by a bee. I love the smell, it just needs more oomph! Not sure I can recommend….I’ll have to leave it to you to test…

I like this one a lot and seem to like it more every time I wear it. I really feel like Bvlgari doesn’t make bad stuff so far I’ve tried 5 of their colognes and I like them all. This is absolutely masculine but has a nice touch of floral, Longevity and sillage aren’t outstanding but I don’t worry about that too much and they are still adequate.

The opening is with too much alcohol or something which gives an instant headache. And if you survive this you get a faint skin scent (soft/sweet/musky). Nice idea, nice bottle, but really too much headaching synthetics. I chucked away my bottle.

To add….Definitely grows on you and is superbly blended in my opinion. On me, Bvlgari Man is a citrus and honey juice with floral and woodsy undertones. Longevity and silage are good. This really is, a gorgeous and luxurious fragrance.

Look at all of these reviews. This is NOT a love-it or hate-it cologne. Yes… Blind buy. Without being able to describe the notes, I would say this is an EDT that works well in any situation. Gentle, soft, yet bold enough to state your presence. This is one of my most-complemented fragrances I own. Ok, yeah, chicks dig it. Boys too. Try it if you want to be a magnet. Mmm.

Interesting fragrance, especially if you can get past the opening with its strong violet. Someone has noted that it caused them nausea, and given my experience with another heavy violet user (Narciso Rodrigues for him), I suspect it’s the strong violet openning which did the same for me. This one is nowhere near as intense as NRfH which lingers throughout. Overall this fragrance is very pleasant and gives you moderate lasting power and good sillage. It won’t blow your socks off, but it’s still a very nice fragrance to have in your collection. Definitely a masculine scent that will add variety to your stash. one thumb up, one half way!

I like the way it smells.
However this actually made me sick both times i tried it.
Not just headache inducing, this was something far worse.
My heart raced and i had nausea.
Too bad, because the notes look good and in theory this should have been a winner.I would like to know what caused the bad reaction.
Maybe it was the synthetic “cashmere” wood.
    I will not revisit this.
Only Bvlgari i have enjoyed was Black.

    Hi Fadros,
Alberto Morillas is Spanish and works in Switzerland.
Bulgari may be Italian, but belongs to LVMH which is a French company.
    It’s a very nice fragrance but… you’re a bit too lyric 😉

If Dior homme is ” France in a bottle “, Bvlgari man is def ” Italy in a bottle “. Think of a Florence street and a warm day. It’s italian made, and unlike many italian brands like Armani, D&G, and Gucci who manufacture its fragrances in France and UK, this one is italian from A to Z.
    What it smells like???
A cup of tea mixed with honey on a wooden table that is recently made.
    Tea. Honey. Wood.
ALthough tea is not mentioned above in the notes, I’m sure its def there. The tea note is this house signature note.
Performance is meh when it comes to normal temperatures, but since I live in Dubai and humidity is crazy during day, this one projects like hell, and if its another fragrance it would be cloying as hell. It’s my to go fragrance for the day when its over 40 degrees.
People who don’t like such a scent could exist, but I think nobody ever born till now will ” hate” it. It’s like a really good and nice person.
One of my top 10 favs. Class. Not screaming for attention. A fragrance for a mentally settled person. Bravo.

I got this as a gift and honestly I’m not a fan. Too strong and the longevity is rather bad.

You can take a bath in this stuff and still smell nothing after an hour. Very bad projection and longetivity.

A very fresh and pleasant fragrance. There is a distinctive honey with a floral accompaniment. The violet is there too especially in the opening. Bvlgari Man is definitely classy. This grows on you and I love it – it’s really beautiful.

Balmy Balm boom !!…Refreshing & pleasant . Little Honey and musk too..On clothes it tends to last long… I don’t have any comments on longevity & projection ,cz i don’t get much, but if someone comes so close like to hug you, then you can expect a compliment “You smell fresh and good”

I’ve been wearing this for sometime now. This is nice frag. For those executive meetings. I use it for office. Fills me up with a confident vibe, though i never recieved a compliment.
But my girl likes it. Which means it’s also suitable for those late evening cuddling sessions.
I felt that balmy fresh BVL vibe in it too. I don’t think i will be going for a second bottle. I must say, Armani Diamonds is a wayy wayyy better choice. If you are searching for a subtle, but a noticable killer/panty dropper frag.
    Scent: 6
    Projection: 3.5 (skin scent)
    Longetivity: 5.5 (upto 3-4 hours)

This smelled good on paper but horrible on my skin! Honey is not my favorite note to begin with but after about 10 minutes this dried down to a sickly combo of violet leaf and honey that smelled like rotting material. I wish it smelled the same way on my skin as on paper. Too bad I had higher hopes.

Just blind bought this for a steal at a local Marshall’s. ( very rare, It was hiding in the back) I like Bvlgari and was surprised it was only 24.99 so i decided what the hell and bought it lol. I wasn’t really expecting much, but oh man i can’t help but love this frag. Seeing how it’s somewhat new and doesn’t really have alot of feedback, i’m really glad i found this. Hard to describe, but its slightly sweet with some woods notes way in the back. Reminds me of going to a very high end night club in NYC. I just think this is perfect for any occasion really. It shares some qualities with ADG Essenza, hence it was created by the same person. Performance so far is good, i don’t see why everyone is saying the longevity sucks. You have to understand its hard to judge longevity for scents like this one. Although you may not be able to smell it anymore ( probably due to applying to close to your nose) others around most definitely can in most cases. Besides, no one wants to smell you across the room anyways. Maybe spray once on your clothing for more lasting power and avoid your neck to keep from getting olfactory fatigue. Boom. Great scent and worth checking out while its somewhat under the radar.
