“Rites of Passage was the art theme for this Burning Man festival. I interpreted Rites of Passage to be those awkward yet thrilling—perhaps even illicit—first times you tried something, like smoking weed or losing your virginity. Inspiration led me to a grass scent, with not one but two types of grass. Burning Man is held in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, there is no water, no vegetation, only sun and dust. I loved the irony of creating a grass perfume for that environment.” – a note from the perfumer.
