Description

All dressed in red, Burberry Brit gives away its new sensual, oriental aura. A year after releasing the elegant Burberry Brit perfume, the house of Burberry introduces the new, limited edition of this fragrance, christened- Burberry Brit Red. The composition became deeper, more sensual thanks to ‘the nose’ Nathalie Gracia Cetto. It detained its eccentric character. Red roses, rhubarb and gingerbread are the theme of this perfume..Top notes include fresh jasmine, mandarine and rhubarb. The heart contains the intense red rose, gingerbread and patchouli. The base is made of benzoin, sandalwood, and vanilla bean. It was created in 2004. The nose behind this fragrance is Nathalie Gracia-Cetto.

Truly a scent of Christmas! I can appreciate it and definitely understand why it’s so popular, but unfortunately the rhubarb doesn’t suit me.
I have almost full bottle for sale, or even swap, if anyone’s interested!

I first wore this the year it premiered (limited edition 2004)…something about it makes me happy. I went through some really bad years after that, but the scent of Burberry Brit Red casts a wonderfully delicious shadow over all the BS; what I am left with is a reminder of winter, candy, smiles…Imagine my horror to find that it was no longer in production and supplies, while available, are dwindling. Even one of the popular decant shops gave me a partial refund because they emptied their bottle to fill my order 🙁
But, I have been fortunate enough to find it here and there…holdouts, obviously. I just love love this scent. I wish they’d bring it back!

Imaging having freshly baked vanilla cookies on the table and next to them a bowl of fruit, not fresh fruit but the plastic look-a likes. I see this when I smell Burberry Brit Red. Quite linear but in the dry down mainly the plasticky fruit smell. It should be off-putting but I do actually like it.
Edit: The more I wear it, the more I love it! Brit Red is a soft gourmand and will appeal to anyone who loves gourmands. It is soft enough to be worn in the office, if not over-applied and would make a great first gourmand for people who want to try one but are afraid of too much sweetness in a scent. Don’t be put off by my entry above, it is a lovely scent.

Love this. It isn’t the fruity tart rhubarb that I expected. The vanilla and benzoin dominate in the top. The vanilla combined with the rhubarb are lovely. The fragrance actually is a powdery iris vanilla in the top and the rhubarb gets more prominent in the middle. It gets fruitier. There’s some patch in there deepening the frag. Gives this dry sour catch in the throat. Worth it!

I finally scored a partial bottle on Ebay! And then I put it on . . . SIGH
No gingerbread. No patchouli. Nothing beyond a light floral.
    Bummer, man! (hehehe)

This scent is so scandalous in a good way because is so sweet, citrusy and a bit spicy. Wearable in any occasion (formal, informal) you’ll make a good impression anywhere. I never planned this to be my signature scent, but many people have told me so. Good projection and very long lasting. Another plus, I’ve had this for a long time and the scent doesn’t change at all keeping its original properties. Definitely worth the price.

Omg. I just received this and I feel like saying ‘where have you been all my life?!’ This is really really surprisingly beautiful and sexy and well well exceeded my expectations. First of all it should have its own name (not a flanker), it doesn’t smell like Brit original or sheer, it is very different. It is breathtakingly beautiful. It is sweet and while normally I would think ok well another sweet perfume that smells like fantasy / pink sugar… it doesn’t just smell like another vanilla. That being said if you like those two fragrances you will probably love this, it is in and of itself a very unique fragrance. I think it is the rhubarb that is having this effect. I normally am not a ginger fan overall but this is a case of ginger done well. I can’t really make it out on its own it just blends beautifully in. I can’t praise this perfume enough and I don’t know why it wasn’t released as its own fragrance (not a flanker) and also why it was released in such a limited fashion that I never saw it here. I also don’t know why the company would not market this completely differently because I really beleive it would have been a big success. It is so yummy. I need to get back up bottles. I am wearing it now and being sniffed by people around me, so I would say it is a crowd pleaser. So in summary Brit Red a really delicious beautiful rubharb vanilla fragrance that deserves to have its own identity and I will be sad when I run out because although I have just received this I think it’s going to become an instant favourite.

I’ve been waiting for a cold night to use this. It’s so beautiful. Tart rhubarb, zingy ginger, soft powdery rose & a hint of vanilla. Every stage of the dry down is gorgeous. I’ve never encountered anything like it. It’s worth buying a bottle & hoarding it which is what I’m doing. Only for special winter occasions or when I need my senses blown.
P.S. just wore this on a cold day. The rhubarb & ginger wrapped around me & I was in heaven. It could be beautiful on a warm night with a breeze but I love the coziness of it for winter. This is one in a million. Why on earth would Burberry discontinue a scent so magical? Love it so much!

Brit Red is my favorite Brit flanker and even better than the original. As far as “special editions” go, this one is truly special.
It starts with a not-too-tart blast of rhubarb and mandarin and its heart note is a soft, uncomplicated rose for a floral note. Dry down is evocative of Brit, but with fewer competing notes.

Beautiful big red rose with ginger and spices that becomes powdery and deep on the skin. Very natural and sophisticated mildly sweet warm scent. I’m male and i used 2 bottles..

Brit Red is playful and eccentric. There is nothing else quite like it on the market. I love the tart rhubarb zing that lingers throughout the drydown. Although many people smell ‘gingerbread’ in this, I really don’t. Ginger, yes, but cake, no. The florals and citrus prevent it from smelling like a baked good. Many people like to wear Red around the holidays, but it’s elegant enough to wear all winter. Comforting and energizing at the same time.

My new signature. The bottle drew me in initially, and its perfect, it fits the whole theme of the fragrance so well! Deeply Red and romantic, matching the magical Christmas-esque juice inside. This is everything I’ve ever wanted in a fragrance. The perfect balance of sweet gourmand, Oriental, vanilla, spicy, and all other things I love in a fragrance. The type of scent I’ve been searching for and dreaming of. If I could create my own perfume, for example, this is exactly how it’d turn out! Its just so “me!”.
I don’t really know how actual rhubarb smelled..only ever smelled it in fiorucci fiorucci. But These notes together are genius! While yes, it does start out sour, but it warms up so quick to like rhubarb and custard, as someone else said. And then comes the gingerbread and patchouli, mmmmmm. This is where it gets spicy ! I actually think the gingerbread is what makes this the beauty it is. Luckily, I don’t smell any rose or jasmine. And I’m glad, cause I hate when florals take attention away from the dry down,… And florals can sometimes ruin a dry down for ne. The benzoin and sandalwood are very existent, just extra bonuses. Rhubard pie, spicy gingerbread, warm vanilla… Just wow!!! Burberry nailed the notes !!! Its kinda genius? Lol. Perhaps some may think that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but that’s how it is
The other good thing is the impressive longevity. A few sprays and you’re good to go alll day, though I think this is best suited for cold nights! Perhaps a Christmas party. I don’t find this to be fitting for day time or casual settings. Its much too beautiful and unique to just wear wherever. This should be reserved for special times. Probably for the best too as this stuff is now $110-200$ for a full size bottle!! Yet again, another discontinued limited edition gem… beautiful. Heavy, deep, sweet, warm, spicy, yummy, fresh, sour, COMPLEX, christmas in a bottle!

  13. :

Wanna know how Christmas smells? Like this! This is the perfect smell of Christmas cookies, warmness of home filled with love and joy. Although it is mysterious bomb that i’d gladly wear for perfect holiday with my better half, it is not slutty or dirty. It can be worn in front of parents on a family Christmas dinner as well. A true fragrant jewel.

First of all, I was drawn to Brit Red because of the rhubarb, despite the fact that it’s marketed to women. I know the notes include rhubarb, ginger, rose, jasmine, and patchouli, but on my skin, it immediately turns to sour grapefruit. (I definitely cannot trust my skin.) I actually don’t find this unpleasant, but definitely sour. I certainly get the gingerbread vibe, but it doesn’t last long. I can’t really find anything feminine about it, but it’s discontinued, so I won’t be wearing it anyway. I guess, for now, Comme des Garcons Rhubarb (Sherbet Series) will be my only rhubarb fix. Without the ginger and patchouli, CdG Rhubarb isn’t as dirty as Brit Red, but still nice. My search for a good, dirty rhubarb continues.

My sister used to wear the heck out of this. The sharp (horrid in my opinion) alcoholic and synthetic rhubarb only present for the first thirty seconds, but this is truly a ginger bomb of a fragrance. Smell is reminiscent of mince pies, Christmas pudding And the spices you smell coming from the kitchen when your mama is soaking sultanas in hot rum. Main note is ginger but you smell the vanilla and jasmine with the ginger after like an hour or so. This is not fruity at all, this is spiced pudding in a bottle

This scent is very odd but interesting, for me I smell green note like something very sour and green. When I fisrt got it I really hate it but on the next winter I wear this and I think this scent is very unique , spice and soft sweet.
If you like sweet + spice perfume get this one but beware of Ruburb. it reminds me of a smell of hurbs.

Even though I am more into spicy oriental fragrances, I love Burberry Brit Red.
It is sparkly and juicy, fruity and sweet without being cloying.
Great for the summer, or whenever I want to get into a happy mood.

  18. :

    Red, red, red.
That’s the colour of the scent.
Not opaque red, but a clear ruby red scent.
Opens up like a burst of cranberries, sour and tart with a vegetal rhubarb note. The berry-like feel reminded me of TheBodyShop’s Rougeberry perfume back in 2001.
Then as the scent settles it becomes rather vanillic. I was expecting a lot of sweetness from this but no, it wasn’t very sweet. It’s also not as vanillic as the original Burberry for Women.
    Pretty ok.

I got this years ago as a present, and i absolutely love it. I LOVE IT!!!! but i cant stand the fact that it was LE, i have to admit, i bought 3 back ups…. It´s so warm and sweet without being overpowering, it does really smells like christmas in a bottle…

I have got to STOP blind buying perfumes, that’s for sure. I don’t hate this scent, but.. I don’t like it either.
I honestly don’t know what to make of this perfume.
The thing that sold me on it was the rhubarb crumble aspect that so many mention.
At first spray the scent was so sharp it could cut your nose in half.
I almost bursted into tears from diseappointment! I thought this perfume would be warm and comforting and before it dried on my hand it was just a cocktail of gasoline and pepper.
Then it dried on my skin and i detected some warm vanilla. However, that inital sharpness was still there and I couldn’t get past it.
After another minute or so i could detect what others might consider sort of a rhubarby pie note.. With a crap load of black pepper! I hate using such harsh words but it was honestly disgusting for a little while.
But then, it mellowed into that tart rhubarb that I so was looking forward to, and the sharpness from before had turned in to what I can only describe as a creamy vanilla custard. It was gorgeous!
… For about 30 seconds. Then it turned in to lemon pledge. With black pepper. Yet again.
I believe it might just be that my body chemistry just doesn’t mix well with this perfume.
I shall put it up for swap and hope it will find a new home where it will recieve the love it probably deserves.

So glad the cold days of late Autumn and early Winter are here so than I can finally pull this out and wear it. If ever there were “Christmas in a bottle,” this is it. I disagree with those who say this isn’t unique. A lot of the cold weather spicy gourmand types are huge and “bakery / spice store in your face.” This one is more linear and tempered by a clean vibe. It’s more tea than cookie. How very British! 🙂

Brit Red has a very odd opening phase exuding a mix between something nutty, rhubarb, and a slight sour, rotting smell that isn’t unpleasant. This phase is short-lived and it morphs into a nice, mild vanilla fragrance with little-to-no sillage, and a lasting power of about 2 hours.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

This was a blind buy for me. I love Brit and its’ nuttiness. I read the reviews and thought why not give it a try. At first, a whiff of Euphoria is very prominent. They have the same vibe. Brit red, indeed, is very red in its character. I can definitely see how the smell fits the name and color. There’s a ripe fruit in there, something sweet and sour, spicy, warm and welcoming. I don’t see myself wearing it during daytime, it’s just too much of an evening scent for me. I could even wear this to bed, it’s that sweet and cozy. After a while, vanilla kicks in, and Red turns sweeter. There’s some gingerbread as well! It’s really delicious, give it a try. Not for the faint of heart, though.

It is an interesting scent, there are times when I like wearing it. But overall this isn’t my type of scent. But for once Burberry created a scent with some originality. I like rhubarb and in Red it is a realistic one . Th dry down is smooth, warm, pleasant, my only issue is that while wearing it I don’t feel I smell that great!?

  26. :

    4 out of 5

It’s definitely different. Sweet and sour, like a rhubarb cake with lots of sugar on top of it.
I bought it for £13 a few years back, I wear it sometimes during the day. People seem to like it on me, more than I like it on myself. It dries down to a nice vanilla scent. Warm and sweet. Not bad, I don’t love ot but I like it enough to keep it.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

I can definitely smell the rhubarb top note, which I actually really enjoyed! Very interesting, bright, and unlike anything else I’ve tried before. After that wore off though, I found it kind of faded into the standard mature woman sort of perfume, AKA floral-y sweet and slightly powdery. That’s the note that lingered the longest. On its last legs, I smelled pure vanilla if I sniffed my wrist directly. In conclusion, I like the top and bottom notes, but the middle notes don’t do it for me.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

This is one that I save for special occasions. It starts fruity but rich, like chocolate dipped strawberries, or orange creme brulee. Not cotton-candy sweet, this is much more sensual. All of it’s notes come across, especially the rhubarb, orange and vanilla. The ginger, patchouli and benzoin give it nice warmth later on, and the rose & jasmine keep it sophisticated.

I recieved Burberry Brit Red as a Christmas gift from my brother. I have not tried or had any Burberry perfumes before, so I was curious to try it out.
First of all I will describe the bottle. The bottle is really nice, if you live in the UK you may know that Burberry is associated with the word “Chav” the original burberry pattern on the other perfumes isn’t to my taste at all. This bottle for Brit Red, is a red chequered Burberry pattern and looks great amongst my perfume collection.
When I I sprayed it first I got a strong smell of Rhubarb. Like rhubarb and custard lovely and sweet. Strong but not overbearingly strong. This is what I like about the perfume you don’t have to wait for the dry down to enjoy the smell.
A few hours in, I could still smell the sweetness and the rhubarb, then a lovely vanilla smell began to creep in. The vanilla and the rhubarb mixed together in the perfume may sound like a sweet clash, but it goes together really well.
A good six hours after I could still smell this perfume on my skin, this time I could just smell the vanilla.
A really nice everyday perfume, I love this!

I chose to wear Burberry Red for the first time while travelling up north on a Christmas day. The lovely scent of tart rhubarb mixed with the slight tingle of spices filled the car, as we drove through the snow covered winter wonderland woods. My first thought was, ‘rhubarb pie and cranberries in the snow’, to describe the crispy feel of the scent. Half an hour later, I thought, ‘mmmm… rhubarb and vanilla’. Warm, spicy and tart, Burberry Red turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me. I was drawn to an unusual note of rhubarb when I bought it blind, but I was not sure what to expect based on reviews. I enjoyed wearing Burberry Red and I will be wearing it again during the holidays. However, I have to admit that both, my husband and I, got serious rhubarb pie cravings while I was wearing this scent. So be prepared to do some baking.
So what is the recipe for a successful rhubarb scent? I know there are no cranberries listed in the pyramid, but I do smell something in the beginning that reminds me of freshly squeezed sour berries with a citrus zing. The rhubarb is complimented by spices and a gentle rose layer in the background towards the heart notes. Finally the crispness is replaced with a gentle vanilla layer turning the scent into a warm and fluffy rhubarb pie sprinkled with gingerbread spice to add a kick. The scent has pleasant presence – not overpowering, but noticeable. I am also pleased with its lasting power for at least of 8 hours. I would like to give Burberry points for creating a scent with an unusual leading note and making it successful.
I think the charming ambience of this scent and the festive bottle with red plaid motif fit the holiday spirit like a glove. I was looking for something unusual and interesting to wear on Christmas day and Burberry Red fit the bill. Overall score 7/10.

When I heard that this smelled like rhubarbs, I was sold and bought a little bottle of it to try. I had such high hopes when I first applied it because the rhubarb scent was tart and tangy and really delicious, but then it dried down to plain vanilla. There’s not even another note to detect mixed in with the vanilla once it dries down. It smells like any old sweet vanilla perfume after about 30 minutes.
I was really disappointed and have tried several times to see if it would improve, but sadly it doesn’t. It’s a good thing that I only got a small bottle (which I will keep to admire since it’s a beautiful color and I love the subtle plaid design).

Love this one! It´s very warm, sweet and a bit oriental.
I understand why some of the comments here state that it smells of sweat because at the first spritz it really does:-). But if you have the right chemistry for this perfume than the slightly sweat Oder disappear very quickly and leaves a warm, cozy and close to the skin comforting smell. If you have the wrong chemistry than the sweat oder will be dominant maybe. So definitely try before you buy!

I bought a used bottle of this, and unfortunately the top notes “turned”; what I thought was supposed to be orange turns sour on me. Thankfully, that did not last long as a warm, rosy gingerbread developed on my skin in the drydown. The scent is not very strong, but it’s very cozy. Normally I do not like to sleep with fragrances on, but this one smelled so good and didn’t bother me while I slept. I will love to wear it more at home once winter approaches.

At first sniff, this didn’t fit me at all. It was a blind buy off the internet.
On me, it smells a bit too musty. Very dark. Quite honestly, I think it smells like Eagle Brand medicated oil–the green one that smells like eucalyptus. A bit spicy in a way.
But after an hour or so, the vanilla was very lovely. It’s very warm.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have been so quick to judge.
This is definitely a scent you’d wear in the winter.

  36. :

First of all I must say that Brit Red is not at all similar to the original Brit, but does share it’s trait of juicy tart opening which then settles into a warm vanilla scent. The opening of brit Red is juicy Rhubarb and ginger, which makes it somewhat sharp but by no means unpleasant.
The sharp opening settles very quickly, and then makes way for the warm gingerbread and cuddly vanilla mixed in with benzoin. I didn’t detect any Jasmine or thankfully too strong a patchouli on my skin. Just gingerbread and lots of Rhubarb with a hint of roses. The spices reminds you of the spicy scents lingering in the kitchen during Christmas. Gingerbread and vanilla spice.

This is cheerful and funny fragrance. I get mostly rhubarb and hard crispy caramel springled on top. A little whiff of vanilla too, but this is more sour than it`s sweet. Definately not sexy, but pleasant and nice.

  40. :

I love this scent just sniffing it from the bottle. It smells so Christmas-y and sweet-spicy and good. But, when I wear it, the rhubarb (rhubarb is definitely the most dominant note) turns to a strong crayon-y smell, backed by lots of antique rose. Plus, it makes me sneeze and gives me a headache. 🙁 I am so sad that Burberry Brit Red and my body chemistry do not interact very well…

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I love the original Brit and thought Brit Red sounded fabulous, so ordered a small bottle and waited impatiently for it to arrive.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed by it. There were some nice notes of ginger, rhubarb and vanilla and it’s definitely a warm scent, but I think there was just too much patchouli and benzoin for me. I love benzoin in small doses but once it crosses a line, it just doesn’t smell pleasant to me anymore.

Strong, stimulating and delicious — such a yummy fragrance with a commanding presence. I smell the blend of rhubarb with the sweet vanilla and fresh spice the most! Initial spray brings me happy holiday memories … the scent is warm and soothing like a hug!
After a few minutes, the scent dries down to this very sensual powdery scent that is quite appealing and long lasting on the skin.
I love the potent qualities of this fragrance from Burberry!

ahhha the initial blast is like a fresh warm rhubarber pie!!! so delicious sweet-sour with the juicy mandarin component. hmmm love it!!!!
i did treat myself with this at least with 10 sprays everywhere. after 10 minutes a slightly spicy ginger-rose with mossy patchouli mingels into the fruity delight. at this state i still thought this is a gem. but after an hour the base reminds very soft with benzoin-vanilla and some hints of patchouli, nothing else, no depht at all…
i m disappointed because 1st thing, it doesn t last very long and 2nd the basenotes are just to weak and flat 🙁 it started out than promising to end in a simply patchouli-vanilla with a more than decent sillage. not impressed. 🙁
maybe i should try it on clothes or hair by next time.

Such a joyfull, happy, young scent! The rubuhrb note is very young and playful to me. It has a strong opening, lots of rubhurb, also some ginger. Its not desturbing, but pretty unik. After a while it gets more warm and the vanilla kicks in, very plesant actually, still strong on the rubuhrb note though. I really like this one, but I have a hard time figuaring out when Im going to wear it.. IMO it has a very young feel to it witch dosnt go well with my usuall taste, no matter how much I enjoy it, I have to realise that Im not going to use this one. I would however LOVE to smell brit gold, I keep my fingers crossed for that one insted!

It´s very cozy and warm, almost immediately reminded me of fall full of brown and orange and red..I imagine myself wearing pale brown coat, cozy boots, sweater..and this perfume <3 It´s so lovely! Very “welcoming” !
I love that fresh spicy ginger/rhubarb opening, juicy mandarine and that cozy comforting sweet vanilla in the drydown!!
Thanks to Mel for sending me that sample! 🙂

Mmmmm…..I love the rhubarb/ginger opening, like coming home to find your mother making you a delicious warming dessert on a cold day.
The dry down is soft, warm and welcoming after the rather sharp, in your face opening. The vanilla overlying the rhubarb and ginger makes it almost cakey. It certainly is delicious. Its a really cold but dry day here today and Brit Red is going to be perfect.
Unfortunately, on my skin, it just doesn’t last long enough. It lasts well on my clothes though so my shirt always gets a generous squirt too.

This edp i really cozy. It has very pleasant and unusual sour note of rhubarb, very distinctive in the top notes. And there is also warm, sweet and cheering smell of vanilla cake in the background. And that would be it. Maybe I can detect shade of jasmine sometimes but rarely. It’s not complicated fragrance. But it is undoubtedly wonderful and charming. I really enjoy wearing it. The bottle is lovely too. Simple in its shape and monochromatic with this adorable checkered pattern. It is such a shame it was only limited edition. I’m going to get a bottle eventually.

Burberry Brit Red was one of my most successful blind buys.
The fragrance is somewhat surprising – you know that rhubarb and ginger were blended into the composition, but the fragrant outcome will still, well, you guessed it, surprise you!
Brit Red starts out with rhubarb, mandarin and jasmine.
The heart is composed of ginger, patchouli and rose.
Vanilla and benzoin form the fragrant base.
On initial spray I smell rhubarb and ginger.
It feels a little sharp at first but the sharpness settles within moments.
I do not notice any jasmine but after a few minutes the juiciness of the mandarins becomes apparent.
The rhubarb is only mildly crisp so I figure that the mandarin sweetens it a bit.
Still, the rhubarb note comes across as a little zesty and spicy which must be the ginger coming through.
The warm and earthy patchouli is noticeable after some time has passed and blends wonderfully with the rhubarb and ginger.
At this point Brit Red makes me think of autumn, leaves and conkers!
A hint of sweet vanilla and warm benzoin make the unusual composition even more lovable and, dare I say, a little cuddly.
All in all, Brit Red is 50% tamed rhubarb, 20% ginger, 20% patchouli and 10% sweetness.
Brit Red will make you smell beautiful for at least half a day with slightly above average projection.
Definitely a fragrance for the colder season, for day and night wear.

This perfume smells so good on my skin that when I sampled it, I kept smelling my wrist all day long. My husband bought me a bottle. The smell is so comforting. I want to snuggle when I wear this scent.
I’m sad that this was a limited edition because I don’t know what I’ll do when I run out. Does anyone know what other perfume smells like Burberry Brit Red?

I bought Brit Red(unsniffed)online based on reviews for two reasons:I was looking for a new winter/Christmas perfume and I just couldn’t resist the beautiful, red glass bottle. My only fear was that the rhubard would be too strong.I decided that if this perfume even came close to some Yankee Candle roomspray, I’d give it away, but no,I’ve found myself a WONDERFUL winterperfume!
As many others have said, the rhubarb is somewhat strong at first, but within a few minutes it blends in so nicely with the ginger/vanilla. Then after a lttle while I sense some spices that gives the perfume a little “personality”. On my skin Brit Red stays pretty much the same way for the next couple of hours, which is great since I love how it smells right from the start.
I’d probably only wear BR during wintertime. The drydown is soft and warm and incredibly inviting. Out of all Burberry perfumes I’ve tried, this is THE ONE: My new favorite for snuggling down in front of the fireplace on a cold winternight;)

It’s always hard to write a review of a very beloved fragrance because we are always afraid of not doing justice to the treasure we adore. Brit Red is one of my favorite perfumes, I discovered it last year in one of my most successful blind buys after the suggestion of some very knowledgeable Fragranticans.
Some of you described BR as a niche fragrance, and it has that real taste to me, as well, since it’s a delicious, unique, astonishing limited edition. Of course when a perfume is already discontinued or very hard to find it becomes more appealing and BR is no exception. I loved it from the first smell, to me it’s a perfect “round” perfume, no edge, no sour ingredients, only warm spices and sweet vanilla. Rhubarb is quite prominent and contributes to make Brit Red unique, mandarine orange is also one of the main characters, while the floral side is almost absent. I don’t detect any jasmine nor rose, but I enjoy and sniff with such pleasure the benzoin, the ginger and the vanilla.
The color I associate with BR is actually gold, not red, but in both cases it’s a warm and joyful color.
It’s definitely a Christmas fragrance, not only winter, I would certainly say Christmas fragrance, it’s a very smooth warm fragrance to enjoy in this period of the year with special feelings, it’s not a common fragrance, I’d say nothing is similar to Brit Red.

From vegetable rhubarb to rhubarb cake 😉 but really it isn’t that simple, it’s a great rich and layered oriental!
I’ve been refreshing the fragrance today and I’m surprised it smells even better than I remembered it. Tastes change :)I’ve always liked Red but nowadays I like it very much. Who wants a spice in a fragrance, has it here – a nice ginger. I’m into spices so I’m glad I’ve rediscovered it in here.
The fragrance starts in a strong hit of rhubarb and vanilla, it’s the time when rhubarb is the most prominent – then the fragrance is something like a spicy rhubarb cake but not truly edible (that’s nice!). What comes afterwards is a great oriental spicy RED scent and I haven’t found many orientals in red.
I don’t detect much of patchouli, benzoin and rose – actually “rose doesn’t exist” and that’s good. Sillage is good. Lasting power too. Brit Red is great for cold days, day and night.
Actually it’s one and only Burberry fragrance I truly like! Brit Red doesn’t build a story in my mind like some fragrances do – but it is an interesting view of an oriental scent really,
