On me this one is much different than the others. It’s more citrus.. Orange or Lemon not sure but I do know it is different enough to warrant adding to your collection if you love the others. For some reason I also noticed the ones released in gold bottles last longer than the others. I really need them to release an EDP! Can you imagine an EDP from estee of this? I would buy it forever! I need to say that if you buy the body cream or oil it will for sure extend and project this fragrance, it’s the only time I get compliments is when I layer. Worth doing so because it’s so yummy.

Strange… This (the 2013 release) smells almost exactly the same as the others. Yet the notes listed are much different. Why is that? Hmmn…
Well anyway, I love me some Bronze Goddess. It’s basically high end gourmet suntan lotion in a bottle. Gorgeous. I just wish it wasn’t so darn pricey. Whenever I’m hankering for a BG fix I have to hunt on Ebay for a reasonably priced bottle. One can easily go through a 3.4 ounce of this because it’s such a light scent (you have to spray on extra)… Man I wish they’d put out a EDP version.
The body lotion is awesome as well. It’s pretty heavily perfumed.
UPDATE: So Estee Lauder did release an EDP version of Bronze Goddess. It’s being hammered on the blogs (way too reformulated folks are saying). Don’t think I’m gonna mess with it.

This is a lovely and uplifting scent to me. Its like a nostalgic summer in a bottle, I will always love this.

I have to say I fell in love with this, and have been enjoying it for almost a year. In the winter I spray it on to remember the summer sun and heat. And of course it is great for summer days! Coconut and American suntan oil are the notes I get, and it is the coziest, warmest smell. Memories of vacations at the beach and lots of happiness!

Nice but the notes are so few….
This just dissapears into nothing on me, I am sad to say.
I will try this years edition, where tiare and lavender is listed.
    Sounds great !
2013 – I hope you suit my northern perfume friend better and show more of yourself than on me…

Delicious coconunt, summer sand and sun! This is truly for hot hot weather and sunglasses. Im very sad this is only around in the summer, but then again, that makes the summer with the perfume even more special. Coconut is very strong in this, milky coconut like many others have described. This also has that sunscreen/sun tanning oil smell which I personally really like. Honestly, I used to often apply tanning oil/cream such as Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat even when I was not tanning or at the beach/pool, like a tropical smelling moisturizer which would always lead to surprisingly, many compliments. I still do this! But Im glad I have this which is a nicer perfume version of what Ive always loved. Flowers such as Tiare flower are also in this and a hint of amber. My complaint is that it does not last long because its an Eau Fraiche.
My boyfriend likes to tell me “Can you wear the coconutty perfume?” Of course!

Probably the only scent I would suggest to blind buy. It is a universal summer fragrance which does smell a bit like suntan oil, but only makes it more desirable for that reason. Summer in a bottle. Happy woman. Bronze goddess

I can’t help, all estée lauder smell so rough to my nose and this is only suntan lotion scent. I don’t want to smell like suntan lotion , even not on holidays in Bali

This smells heavenly; tiare gardenia infused milk, orange blossom, coconut and an amber/iso e note that strangely smells like sunbaked sand (captures the texture too!!) It dries down to a soft salted caramel sandalwood sweetness (like skin after a day at the beach) and it’s absolutely gorgeous. One of the best summer scents on the market that doesn’t make you smell like fruit punch, mega props to that 🙂
It’s so sad it’s only available during spring/summer months but maybe that’s rather apt so right now I think I need to get a bottle (or two) and just revel and enjoy this masterpiece when the season finally comes.

I was just in Ulta sniffing around and I ran across this one. OMG I’m so freaking in love with this scent ! I’ve never tried any of the other versions, as I wrote it off as it would smell like other department store fragrances ..BOY , I have been checked! This is amazing, coconut, somewhat vanilla like, warm , inviting , warm sweet skin! I consider this very sexy, and I think that’s the very light sandalwood projecting . You don’t have to think about buying this one guys! BLIND BUY! It may not last a long time , but I will reapply this one over and over ! I honestly don’t know who wouldn’t like this ! And the reviews say it all actually! 5 stars from me!
Update: I initially loved this from a tester at Ulta, however I went and purchased and the scent is much weaker..very disappointed.

This scent is amazing for hot summer weather. Last year, being broke, I visited the same shop almost every day for two months just so I could spray this on. True story. It’s gorgeous.

  12. :

I don’t like the initial spray. It’s a bit in your face but then it softens up and becomes a little bit green.
It’s a coconut scent. But not the heavy sweet one. After a while it has a smell that reminds me of my skin mixed with sunlotion, a green coconut and seawater.
This scent is ideal for summers, day and night. But I think anyone can pull it off in any other season. You just have to love coconut and a tropical vibe.
It lasts a while. On me it doesn’t disappear but it lingers on.

On a hotter days, I sampled this and enjoyed it. It reminds me of summer beaches and suntan gels, like Bain de Soleil. It somehow has that effect. Now fast-forward to cool Fall weather and spritz it on again. It falls flatter than a door would. Nothing at all. Bronze Goddess really needs the heat to fire it up. Enough said. It didn’t last for me unless I spritzed continually. So unless I used the entire bottle for the Summer continuously, I’d be stuck with a bottle waiting to be used for the next year. Pretty room scent tho, guess I could use it that way…

This is the ACCURATE note listing from EL website:
    Bronze Goddess 2013
    Top Notes:
    Sicilian Bergamot
    Mandarin
    Middle Notes:
    Tiare Milk-Tahitian Gardenia Petals
    Coconut Oil
    Orange Flower Buds
    Jasmine
    Magnolia Petals
    Myrrh
    Base Notes:
    Amber
    Sandalwood
    Vetiver
    Caramel
    Coconut Cream
This scent is: BEACH, TROPICAL, SUN, SOFT, CREAMY COCONUT, LIGHTLY FLORAL.
First spray takes you to lying in the sun on a beach. It does smell a bit like Bain de Soleil – orange gelee (actually a lot a bit like it) but more so at the first. As it develops it sweetens up, the coconut notes come out, and the beautiful floral notes add a lush tropical vibe. Although I did reference a sun lotion – it doesn’t really smell like you have sun lotion on (no this is not hawaiian tropic or copper tone AT ALL) – rather that you smell GOOD, warm, tropical, creamy and lightly sweet.
I have had it on for 3 hours now and only sprayed twice and only on my left forearm — its still there. It does sits close to you and is very inoffensive.
I love the summer vibe it gives. LOVE it!
update at 5 hrs later I can still smell it! no its not as strong but its there.
update at 12 hrs later – I had moved my arm to stretch — and smelled my one forearm – where I sprayed yes only 2 times and i got this gentle waft of bronze goddess. yes …still there on the skin! I don’t understand why people said it doesn’t last – today — it did! so glad I bought this!!

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely delicious!!! I was at Ulta today and happened to see a tester of Bronze Goddess. I have heard so many people rave about this perfume that I had to try it. I wish I had come across Bronze Goddess at the beginning of summer – it would have been my go to scent! It smells like the Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil with a hint of something spicy. Although it doesn’t last long on my skin, I wouldn’t mind spritzing this a few times a day simply because I love how wonderful it smells

This is my favourite summer scent 2013! To me it’s coconut, mandarin and orange blossom in one loud burst! I spray it on lavishly (100ml bottle!)then waft about for hours smelling great, feeling great!

Why do I smell coconut? This smells like a really nice suntan lotion. Very pleasant for summer days. I’d say it’s a young woman’s fragrance.

Beautiful!!! I love this sooo much!!! I got complimented on how good I smell today. I work in a hospital and I am careful what scents I choose to work in. I either spray my hair if my choice of perfume may be too strong or I apply lightly. I applied at 6pm and I can still smell this.
I bought the oil spray to which I apply to my legs after shaving. I bought a spare bottle of perfume and oil incase next years selection is not as divine as this!!!

This is definitely HG status for me! The smell is intoxicating. As others have stated, very sexy and tropical. I wish I could smell it all day everyday! No, really, I wish it lasted longer than the two hours it does on me. I’m trying to decide if I should return it. It is to die for but, the longetivity is very weak. You can’t even smell this by putting your nose right on my skin after two hours. Very sad!!

Bought Bronze Goddess three years ago for summer, caught a whiff of this again in May and was instantly caught up in it’s heady charm, again the Bronze Goddess seduced me I only wish she would last longer on me, so you work your way through this fragrance quickly, you can’t buy anymore throughout the year and are always left wanting more to get your Bronze Goddess hit, but then the sun fades, the days get cooler and suddenly your Bronze Goddess is gone – all you have is an empty bottle with a few sunny memories, so long Bronze Goddess until we meet again next year.

My husband bought this for me on a plane as a summer fragrance for holiday. I normally go for the heavy, long lasting fragrances such as Private Collection but this is lighter to wear during the day & does evoke memories of sunny days even if it’s grey & raining today in France!

    I love this perfume!!!!
This perfume is so unlike anything I would ever try or ever own but I absolutely love this! It is such a happy scent :o)
What I love about Fragrantica and all the brilliant perfume heads out there putting on their likes and dislikes ;o) is that until I started using Fragrantica for finding perfumes and researching perfumes and reading reviews on perfumes, I ALWAYS wore the same 2 perfumes for YEARS!!
Now I try and buy and buy and buy!! all different kinds now, perfumes I would never ever have tried before.
Thank you Fragrantica and all the brilliant reviewers! (if reveiwer is indeed an actual word) :o)

These notes are a mistery to me!
Different notes listed here. A lot of notes, different notes, listed on the website. The oil version smells exactly the same to me, however, again – the notes listed for the oil version differ.
I don’t know what I’m smelling exactly but boy, do I like it! It’s so warm. If I could have a deafult scent that my skin would project at all times, it would be this.
Delicate amber and musk. In the sun it smells more citrus-like. I don’t know if I am smelling coconut or if this is some coconut illusion – however there is something wonderfully tropical about this. This is expensive holiday in a bottle – sexy, goddess-like skin scent that makes you feel so alluring, glowing and inviting. The bottle is stunning, glowing! I am so happy I grabbed one of them. Amazing!
    EDT:
I’ve had it for 2 weeks and I used quite a lot of it, like 25mls or so – I never thought I would have a perfume I’m addicted to but at the same time I feel like I should be saving it up since it won’t be around for long.
When I’m not wearing it, I miss it!
It’s like a love affair that I know will end some day, we won’t be in each other’s lives anymore, after that it will be just unreasonable to keep it up!

A friend of mine picked this up for me at Heathrow and I tried it today. Must say, the scent is pretty much the same as my last two bottles of EL Bronze Goddess from 2008 & 2011. Beachy creamy milky coconutty goodness! The bottle is very flashy, all gold foil … just hope it does not start peeling.
The Lauder UK site description for the 2013 ELBG does not seem to fit; their notes are similar to the ELBG Soleil version in green bottle that came out in 2011 which is completely different.
I still think that Azuree Soleil 2007 was the best but this will do for now :o)

Ya know. I don’t think Estee Lauder gets the praise she/they deserve for the perfumes she/they turn out. Sure, there’s some stinkers in there, but for the most part, i really love and enjoy the ones I own.
Most recently, the Bronze Goddess (2013) has turned my nose. I love this…i have no idea why, I just do. While it does have the sense of suntan lotion, it’s got something more in there that’s more of a subversive element that tricks the mind. At least, it tricks my mind..one may think this is a jaunty summer perfume but it’s a creamy, sultry hot mess of warmth and sticky sweetness. Very sexy on the skin.

Beautiful soft and sexy and makes you feel like a goddess is how i would discribe this perfume. It smells like summer sunshine on the beach with coconuts and flowers nearby.I really love this and have bought four bottles of this perfume and two bottles of the oil to last me all year xx

I can’t decide wether I love or hate it. It certainly is a very interesting and unique scent. Totally different from anything I have ever smelt, but unfortunately I have to say that it gives me a headache.
So I am gonna resell it.
But if you wanna go for something different, then I would definitely recommend to give this a try.
    🙂

Im loving this! I am very picky about perfumes and I am a sucker for anything that smells like true coconut. I thought this would be something I would love when I saw the display at the mall. It smells amazing. Just like I imagine the tropics would smell like. I had to have it. I was surprised there is no coconut in the notes because it gives a slight coconut vibe. Personally I would love more coconut but this fragrance is great the way it is. I can’t comment on how long it lasts this is my first time wearing it. I look forward to enjoying this one all summer.

I tried the body oil spray today at the local Estee Lauder counter in Nordstrom. The actual perfume version had completely sold out already as I type this in the middle of May. As others have stated, this smells lovely and reminds me so much of the beach. It definitely smells like a nice, creamy sunscreen and does smell milky. It reminds me of having a nice mocha while laying out on the beach or maybe even having a Kahlua-based drink laying out on the beach near tiki-torches in the evening. It’s quintessential vacation. Very tropical and lovely. It’s light and not overwhelming. I can still smell it on me 4 hours later, though it’s starting to fade now.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Summer in a bottle but unfortunately very weak. Tried this on several occasions but within one hour the scent had virtually disappeared. I can appreciate it is a skin scent and not as potent as a perfume and perhaps on some people’s skin the scent sticks around but on mine it vanished. At £45 even though it’s 100ml, it’s too expensive for the scent not to be long lasting.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

I got pretty strong orange/citrus notes from this one, and florals, but not much in the way of coconut. All this was a good thing, IMO. It’s very attractive and screams SUMMER HOLIDAYS at you, which is obviously a good thing.
Very long lasting, only thing stopping a purchase is the size of the bottle. 100ml is too much of a fragrance like this unless you live in a country with a decent climate and can actually expose some skin for more than a few hours a year.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I’m a bit undecided about this. It certainly smells of suntan lotion, and that summery beach smell. But it’s quite headache-inducing if you wear too much or too near to the face. I think it’s the combination of milky coconut and flowers which I’m not sure is totally me as I’m usually a woody floral fiend.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

I have the Body Oil spray version of this. This fragrance starts and ends beautifully. For me, it starts out with a lot of creamy coconut and flowers. As time goes by, the coconut recedes and I get more and more of the flowers – although the note is not listed, for some reason the beautiful scent of gardenias emerges the longer this scent stays on my skin. Bronze Goddess is a wonderful fragrance to wear to the beach, that is for sure, but I think that it is a great scent for spring and summer in general, and can even be used to layer with other floral/coconut perfumes (I used it with Gucci Flora Glorious Mandarin and it was terrific!).

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Very, very nice. Of all the times people on this site wanted a perfume that smelled like suntan lotion, I could never wholeheartedly recommend anything. But the 2013 BG is definitely IT. It smells like creamy coconut, tropical flowers, amber, and beach sand baking in the sun. Tropical but not fruity, except for a very faint hint of orange that gives it a freshness. It stays close to the skin. Try spraying liberally (that is what I did with BG from 2012, and that made it last all day). It’s not too weak of a scent. I think it’s perfect for hot days/nights and will radiate off the skin more easily in the heat. Marvelous summer perfume.

I really shouldn’t complain, because the name gives it away, but anyhow:
    WHERE’S THE SILLAGE????
It’s a “Skinscent”, alright, which is a pity. As a “normal scent” it’ll be heaven, but it’s really weak. It’s so weak, that the only thing I smell after two spritzes of it on the decolteé is the other scent, I also tested on my arm. Hours ago. While “Skinscent” is fresh.
Don’t tell me: “In summer and hot weather and higher humidity this works so much better”. Well, at least my skin simply eats every scent by heat and sweat in minutes. “Skinscent” would have the chance of Quark against Klingon, if you know, what I mean.
Really a pity, because it smells heavenly. But who’d notice?

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I was looking for a beach perfume which is anything but tooty fruity or aquatic fresh. I have used Escada Ocean Lounge as my go to beach scent, which smells good but then, I thought i should steer clear from fruity tropical scents and opt for something a bit more sexy and sophisticated. EL Bronze Goddess is the one that caught my attention as it smells like a concoction of coconut milk with a few spikes of sea salt and lemons… Far from pina colada but more of like a luxe suntan lotion with sea breeze and coconut bits to be exact. The scent is close to the skin. Very comforting yet warm and tropical sexy. Stayed 3 hours on my skin.
Update: between the BG 2011 and this one, they are not the exact same. BG fraiche skinscent 2013 is more intense on the lemons, coconut and saltiness.

I bought a bottle of this yesterday, its gorgeous. Currently in the UK, House of Fraser have exclusive sale rights for 1 month before the official launch. I paid £45 for 100mls.
I am going to Mexico later this month, and have been searching for a beachy sent. This is perfect. I compared Britney Spears “Island Fantasy” (lovely and tropical / fruity but doesn’t last long) Bobbi Brown “Beach” (very nice, smells like suntan lotion) CB I hate Perfume “At the Beach 1966” (very beachy, but a bit synthetic)
I purchased Bronze Goddess in 2008, and comparing it to the 2013 eau fraiche version, I can’t tell the difference, it smells exactly the same to me.
What does it smell like? Think warm vanilla and coconut, sand and suntan lotion. Its comforting, and lovely. I keep sniffing my wrists and inhaling! I would only use this scent on holiday, as it really is a tropical / beach fragrance.
If Britney Spears “Island Fantasy” lasted longer, I would be divided as to which is best, but the staying power of Bronze Goddess wins out. I can still smell it on my skin 3 hours later.

I’m sooo happy! This smells very similar to my favourite Bronze Goddess ever, the 2008 edition. (the one with the colorful circle). I think I’m getting 2 bottles of this because I’m scared it won’t be available for a long time and it’s my number 1 summer perfume of all times. 🙂

What can I say..Beautiful, Sexy, Beach…mmmmmm….yummy!!! You feel wrapped by this creamy coconut milk. I felt like Cleopatra..lol. Yesterday (about 7 pm)I went to the mall and tried it on my arm. About 3 hours later, I went to have my bangs trimmed; well, my sister kept saying that I smelled really good. And I did! The only 1 spray that I put on my arm was still very noticeable and beautiful. I took a shower this morning and right now it’s 1:40 pm and I can still detect a faint beautiful smell coming from my arm. So…of course, I went during my lunch and bought it! It’s lovely!
    Longevity: amazing
Sillage: moderate the first 3 hours then close to the skin

I didn’t like this perfume at all when I first sampled it at the store. But after trying perfume after perfume I decided to give this another try and put it on my skin this time, and then walked around the mall for a while. I could not stop smelling my wrist! I am absolutely in love with Bronze Goddess now, my husband says it smells just like he remembers Hawaii on our honey moon. It literally is like beach in a bottle… Warm, sweet, sandy… I smell tons of yummy milky coconut, and the lady at Macy’s said its full of it so I’m not sure why it’s not listed in the notes.. It also has a sun tan lotion smell to it, but in a good way. It’s still cold here where I live, but one smell and I’m suddenly warm. If you were like me and didn’t like this scent on paper, try putting it on your skin! Ps, spray some in some unscented lotion and then layer!

  45. :

I’ve waited an entire year to purchase this (darn you limited editions!!) and I am on cloud frikin nine. Not only is it a sweet summer scent, beach in a bottle, but it’s got a hint of darkness to it. It’s suntan lotion, coconut, skin musk, amber, sandalwood, white lushious night blooming petals and a trace, I mean the tiniest trace of patchouli…at least thats what I smell. I may just go out and buy another tomorrow, incase this bottle doesn’t make it the whole year. It’s pure sex.

  46. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve been a huge fan of Bronze Goddess since discovering it last spring, and I’m happy to report that the formulation hasn’t been tweaked – too much – and remains true to its former glory.
Interestingly enough, the EL website doesn’t even list coconut as one of the notes on this new edition, though it’s listed in the body oil (the notes listed for both on the website are vastly different). I tested them both side by side on my skin today and they smelled identical to me (I will note that the scent of the body oil seemed to fade extremely quickly). ***After a bit of research, I think the EL site made a mistake as it’s actually listing the notes for BG Soliel (a flanker from a couple of years ago) as the notes for the new release.
I do have to vent about the bottle. Last year’s edition was gorgeous with golden, gradiated “glitter sand” – and the one before that looked so summery, despite its simplicity, as well. This new one looks gold and attractive in the photos but is more of a greenish gold in person. There is a goldish, transparent sheen to the greenish hue which reflects the light at a certain angle, but overall, it has a somewhat dark and industrial-looking aesthetic that isn’t in keeping with the once beachy, classic look. The liquid literally looks like a dingy, dirty green thanks to the hue of the glass – disappointing considering the hike in price. Hopefully next year’s bottle will be brighter. Regardless, I’ll continue to purchase it to replenish my stock as long as the scent doesn’t change.
**Note: EL apparently shipped a very small stock this year; my Macy’s only had a few bottles to sell — I snagged two of them.

Got a chance to smell this beauty today. To my nose it is a dead ringer for the original Tom Ford Azuree Soleil. I will be going back tomorrow to get the full bottle!! Beach in a bottle, oh yeah!!!

  48. :

This is selling fast! Macy’s in my town only got 6bottles of perfume and 3 oils. There was only one left after 2 days! The oil was to light for me for the price so I got the perfume. It is very close to the original Tom Ford Estee Lauder azuree! Not as milky and slightly more gourmand. It’s going to fit perfectly with my spring break vacation! Woohoo! Beach in a bottle.

Hi Clyn11, it’s not similar to the Capri edition at all, but very close to that 2010 BG edition (the transparent glass bottle with golden dust-like elements on it). And more good news-will also be available in an oil version 🙂

Just tried it at my Estee Lauder training and must say it’s not very different from last year’s original BG ( not the Soleil edition), only a bit more milky/creamy. Very sexi and tropical as always! 😉
