Description

Ellen Tracy Bronze is a luxurious and feminine fragrance, launched in 2011. It is signed by perfumer Pierre Negrin. Top notes of bergamot and sparkling lemonade are fused with green apple and mandarin, introducing mystery and exoticism to the composition. Available as 50 and 100 ml EDP.

I’m with JustJess5 all the way down there…
I don’t love the opening, it’s something I’d never wear, and then it dries down to baby powder, which also one of my least liked notes.
I feel way at odds with the rest of the reviews, but this just doesn’t do it for me at all.

Believe the hype. Bronze is a gorgeous heliotrope fragrance. Not too powdery, probably because the amber balances it.
The lemony opening seems like a mismatch to the rest of the notes when you read about it, but in real life it works.
It is not like Lolita Lempicka at all. It reminds me of L’Heure de Nuit very much. And of L’Oreal lipstick – it’s very lipsticky.
    So happy to wear this!!

What a great bargain find! Seriously, i would have overlooked this little gem if it wasn’t for Fragrantica. I found it at TJMaxx for dirt cheap. So I blind bought it. I wasn’t expecting much, and I truly was a bit disappointed the first few minutes of spraying it. It was a bit sharp – almost chemical. If that was the citrus, then they missed the mark. Either way, I didn’t worry overmuch because, for the price I paid, it wasn’t a big deal if it didn’t work out. But, oh boy, that dry down is magnificent. Wow. Soft, comforting scent. Perfect for powder lovers. Projection is moderate and longevity is 8 hours+! Amazeballs. I hope they don’t stop making it and selling it for next to nothing.

Here to echo other things I’ve read below:
    > Smells like C. Howard violet pastilles
    > Soft, sweet powdery dry-down
    > Dollhead vibes
It has been a few weeks now, and I love this one more and more for the rich, green, wet, crushed violet scent that it radiates. A very comforting bedtime scent for me.
The only thing I would add that I haven’t yet read is that I was giving this a test sniff while also wearing Bvlgari Black. I found a perfume-free spot to test Bronze, and realized that Black and Bronze are actually similar in that they both have a close-to-the-skin, comforting vanilla-amber-oakmoss cushion right at the bottom.
The several comparisons to MMM Replica Lipstick On are really piquing my interest because I have been aching to try Lipstick On…

Omg. This smells So good!! Very unique. But totally lovely. This is a sweet cuddly cozy perfume. Highly recommend!
    Eta… I agree with jeanbean7777
This reminds me of E.L. Sensuous nude, but better! It’s sensuous nude plus powder on me.
Someone else said it smells like a dog after the groomers. LOL! I can kind of see that comparison . But it’d be a gorgeous dog at a very upscale groomer.
Update. Even though I own 200 perfumes, and I spray them often. Ever since I bought this one, I chose it 8 times out of 10. It’s addicting!!

L’oreal color riche lipstick.. Ring any bells? This perfume smells exactly how they did back in the 90’s when I was a kid. Seriously, exactly like the inside of my moms cosmetic bag. I’m not sure those lipsticks still smell this way, but they certainly did back then.
I love all kinds of lipstick scents, but I just recently realized how high up on my list this perfume actually is. I adore it, it’s in my top ten scents ever smelt at the moment! In the opening, you have just a little sugary citrus, but it quickly settles into pure cosmetic goodness.
I also agree this has a doll head vibe, and yes, to me that’s a good thing..! It reminds me of little plastic toy animals, lipstick, and doll houses. I will always keep this fragrance in my collection from here on out. That shouldn’t be hard though, thanks to that awesome price-tag..!
I wish I could rename Bronze “Dollhouse” and change the orange details on the beautiful frosted glass bottle to a soft baby pink in order to fit the scent inside more accurately. I think more people would seek this beauty out to test it if they were aware of how unique this scent really is!
Extremely underrated fragrance, I hope it never gets discontinued. Cosmetic scent lovers, nostalgic/barbie doll scent lovers, or anyone who played around with makeup in the 90’s, grab this stuff and give it a test to be well on your way down memory lane.

Smells like plastic doll heads and lipsticks from my childhood. I love this perfume!

Nose is Pierre Negrin who has created scents from designer to Amouage and Jo Malone. Bronze on my skin has a very light citrus opening followed by slightly powdery heliotrope, which reads more like iris on me, and settles quickly into a quiet woody, nutty base. It’s a very pleasant, wearable cheapie that works in all weather. I also purchased a 2013 flanker Exotic Bronze blind when I bought this, which is a truly dreadful synthetic fruity mess. Stick with the Original 2011 Bronze.

I tested this fragrance and I am thrilled. Its a beautiful woody, oriental, spicy, sweet scent that is perfect for the fall. the bottle I tested was at a discount store and was in terrible condition, so I’m going to order this one online. Can’t wait for September!
Update: so I was finally able to score a bottle of this for about $8 at my local Marshall’s. I got a 3.4 oz bottle and I couldn’t be happier. I didn’t realize that this was a parfum! I can’t believe the price because it really is great quality and LASTS. I think I’m going to stock up because I think this may be my every day signature fall scent. I will save my other more expensive fall scents for special occasions.

This fragrance gets a lot of love here on Fragrantica, but on my skin it doesn’t work that well. I mostly get very prominent, bitter, sour citrus. I don’t get any heliotrope, just citrus.
Sillage is moderate, longevity is about 4-5 hours.

  11. :

    5 out of 5

Ellen Tracy Bronze is basically: Bronze Goddess + the bottom of a make-up bag wherein a bottle of foundation erupted ! And I mean that, in a good way. This is a great little cheapie and longevity is better than anyone else’s $12.99 could give you.
Blind buy safe if you like lipstick/foundation make-up smells! Office safe as well.

I’ve just bought this fragrance on the basis of the positive reviews and will give it a proper wear & review in the next couple of days. I am wearing Brosseau Hombre Platine at the moment, which is quite strong, so there’s no point in attempting to test anything else.
Recent comments have questioned why this perfume is called “Bronze” as it’s not beachy etc. I am re-posting a comment made 10.10.2013 by Jeffrey Dame of Dame Perfumery, which explains the nomenclature:
“Just an FYI for clarity on the name Ellen Tracy Bronze. I developed this fragrance with the Firmenich team back in 2010 as a consultant to the Ellen Tracy licensee. The Bronze name comes from the Ellen Tracy clothing line. At the time Ellen Tracy Bronze clothing was the brand’s higher level collection, and all the clothes had little bronze labels in them. The Ellen Tracy Black label clothes were for broader distribution. The Ellen Tracy Bronze fragrance scent is outstanding and quite costly in the oils, so finding it at a bargain price at Ross Stores is quite the deal. J”
    Hope this helps!

Ok, honestly this smells like a sassy Lipstick On. They both have a very authentic makeup smelling aura to them, but where LO is the classy sister, this is the sassy sister who comes to the classy parties late and leaves early to pursue a more interesting evening. She can play the part, but LO IS the part.
Aquolina pink sugar + lipstick on = Ellen Tracy bronze

So this was a blind buy based on some reviews of people who liked it … sweet and amber description is what sold me because I love perfume that is sweet and I love the amber notes … I really wanted to love this … but sadly I don’t even like it. It does not smell sweet at all. Very synthetic and “chemically “ … I don’t get any amber. I don’t even know what notes I am smelling. I wore it for two days just to see if It would grow on me or somehow smell different … nope .. to me this perfume smells like plastic doll heads .. lol . I happened to be running errands with my Boyfriend today and the whole time he kept saying “ bleh what is that awful smell “! Oh my god was it the perfume ? I kept thinking …. lol ! Needless to say I will not be using this as a perfume .. probability just use it as a room freshener for the bathroom …. :(.

Not showing any originality here as I am following the rest of the troops who have blind bought this based on so many positive reviews…
I had never heard of this “designer” before, and there was a lot of enthusiasm for the fragrance plus the price made it attractive enough to throw into the basket with my last order.
I don’t get why they call it Bronze, which to me suggests a golden tan, the smell of coconut oil, sand and sea vibes…This is a pleasant…an inoffensive soft and fresh powder. It’s not going to set the world on fire but it’s perfect for gardening, shopping, anything where you want a low key clean and powdery fragrance.

Another buy based solely on the reviews here, I never would have looked twice at this otherwise…. uninspiring packaging to say the least!
I wore it yesterday and on me, this is very predominantly violet with a hint of sugared lemon. Not really a deep or sexy scent, I don’t get much amber or cedar nor really any other florals however I suppose they are there as a supporting cast (just not detectable to me). I happen to really like violet, so I am totally ok with that! It will likely be a bottle I use up for casual everyday stuff and not buy again, but it is pretty and most definitely worth the $8 I paid for a large bottle..!
The name is really off on this one too. There is NOTHING in this scent that makes any connection to anything I think of as “Bronze”. It’s vaguely Victorian, beautiful and feminine with a timeless feel to it without being too classic. I could see a young lady wearing this and it coming across as sweet innocence, but I can also totally see it on a more mature woman and coming across as fun loving and youthful (I’m in my mid 40’s).
I’m going to wear it to work today and see if I get any remarks from my girls, I coach little ones today and they rarely comment unless I’m wearing Pink Sugar..! 😉

This was another blind buy for me, because it was cheap and had so many great reviews. I tell you, those reviews didn’t lie. My bottle of Bronze arrived this morning and I haven’t been able to stop sniffing my arm since I sprayed it. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous lipsticky scent on me – I’ve had high end lipsticks that smelt identical to this – all heliotrope, violet and lemon meringue. It doesn’t smell like a cheap perfume at all. The bottle is terrible though, it’s the only thing that lets it down.

All of these good reviews made me decide to purchase this while at tj maxx. Thankfully it was super cheap, because i do not like this. Way to powdery, kinda smells like a dog straight from the groomer.

Why is this not more popular? Seriously. It gets a fair amount of chatter here on Fragrantica, and that buzz is justified. But why isn’t EVERYONE talking about this?! I just picked up a 100 ml bottle for $7.99 and I wasn’t expecting much. Wow, I was so wrong this blew me away! It reminds me a bit of Guerlain L’instant Magic but with lemony notes added. It’s shares the same high quality powdery note of GL’IM. My husband actually prefers this one slightly to the Guerlain although I do not because the longevity is not as good.
I smell Lemon, Heliotrope, Violet, Amber & Tonka. I don’t really pick out the white florals. This is a creamy, powdery, purple Floral with a citric twist that’s absolutely to die for! The silage performance is actually quite perfect. If it were stronger it would be “too much.” This leaves a nice, easily detectable aura around me, but it doesn’t shout. It could last longer but at this price you can touch up worry free. The very first spray was like, “WOAH! Holy baby powder, Batman.” And that’s coming from a powder lover. It scared me a little bit, I’m not gonna lie. lol But about 10 minutes in, Bronze shifts into a delicately sweetened, creamy, super fun surprise! It isn’t super linear. I know other reviewers have said it is but that just hasn’t been my experience. It changes a fair amount throughout the day and I love every “phase” of Bronze’s olfactory journey.
This is unquestionably STELLAR quality. I’m stunned that the company is giving it away for SO cheap! I really don’t understand how they’re not broke or how it ended up lining the shelves of discount shops. The bottle is pretty disastrous so perhaps it was a matter of poor aesthetics and mis-marketing? It almost had to be because it’s not the fragrance itself. I know quality ingredients and this has them. BUY IT. You need it. We all do.

This is my second set of remarks about Ellen Tracy Bronze; jeffreydame (of Dame perfumes) says it all in his review below. He was on the development team for this fragrance; no wonder it’s such a masterpiece!
    Mystery solved.
I feel that everyone should smell this beautiful, elegant fragrance at least once or you’re missing out.
“Heliotrope Lemonade” would have been an accurate name for this delicious, addicting juice.

I can’t believe this…. Is my nose Pokemon evolving or something? Who knows how I got back to this page after visiting it for the first time after purchasing at, you guessed it, TJMaxx, but here I am dumbfounded.
I went in there about 6 months ago and bought this for 7.99 for 3.4 ounces. I ripped it open in the car and was sorely disappointed. It smelled like bug spray and cleaning products had a baby. I looked here on and was like how can mostly everybody say this is sweet. Like, whatever.
Today something said spray it on the back of your hand about 6 inches away and wait. Boom! All the powder that ever was showed up quickly but a couple of minutes later I started smelling something sweet? Yup, it’s sweet. I’m a big gourmand lover so when people say something is sweet I expect the sweetness to Captain Caveman club me over the head with it. But it doesn’t always work like that is what I am finding out.
To me this smells like Cashmere Mist, VS Heavenly, baby powder (in the best way) sitting on top of Pink Sugar. The reviews below go into better detail but this is a definite like for me and I am glad to have this bottle. Plan on wearing it tomorrow and just enjoying the cozy safe feeling I get from this.
Sidenote: My subconscious nose is really playing games with me. Something will make me keep a bottle of perfume I don’t like at first then later on I find myself unexpectedly liking it. It’s like my subconscious is saying keep liking all those super sweet perfumes but I am going to help you realize you can like a lot of other styles too. I’m glad that I have my own back.

You guys were right. Lemony, woody, creamy, powdery, deliciousness. I was worried that it would dry down horribly but it actually smells better in the drydown. Sometimes, perfumes are impressive for the first few hours but then fail or turn unpleasant. This was actually pretty good, never veered too far into synthetic mess territory. Nice.

This perfume is everything I wanted Tocca’s Colette to be: a dreamy, creamy, lemony powder with a bit of woodiness. Unlike Colette, people around me can actually smell it when I wear it and it has decent longevity; all this and it can be easily found for under $20! What’s not to like?
I received plenty of compliments wearing Bronze. I find it very cuddly and feminine but not too sweet and not too heavy. All day I would smell wafts of the fragrance float up towards my nose, it’s like an ethereal aura of scent not a thick suffocating cloud. I could see this working on cold or warm days.
Give Bronze a try if you like cozy comforting fragrances, or vintagey make-up type smells. At the price it’s going for you haven’t much to lose and you may just find yourself enamored by it like me.

As previous reviewers state, Bronze is an unexpected gem.
I first tried a roll on a year or more ago that was very pleasant, even beautiful. Lemon cream pie, I thought. But it wasn’t love, so I included the roll on alongside various items to share with a friend.
Fast forward to this week. A generous, kindly fragrantican sent me her large spray bottle and I immediately sprayed away, haha. OH HAPPY DAY. Applying a larger amount than a roll on can is the decisive factor between ‘nice’ and Wow.
A generous spray or so of Bronze yields a seductive amber scent with orange blossom and powder and gorgeousness. Creamy sweet Lemon is still vaguely there, in a background way. While I usually abhor ozonic elements or Violet Leaf, happily neither of these are evident on me.
In short, I’m excitedly enjoying a gorgeous yet comforting Floriental with warmth and feminine wiles! Worn lightly Bronze could go anywhere – shopping, work, school, etc. More than one spray, however, and you have a truly seductive Venus on your hands. Beware! 😉
Update – Absolutely enthralling in cold weather. I am now noticing violet alongside the powdery,dreamy-creamy goodness noted before. Not violet leaf, but lovely sweet violets themselves! Smells expensive and even almost vintage in dry down. I cannot say enough about this beauty!

What an under-rated, hidden gem this beautiful surprise of a fragrance is! Somewhere between Shalimar Souffle eau de parfum and MMM Replica Lipstick On with a dash of (to my odd nose) coconut. The heliotrope is delicate, powdery, and prominent; the amber, tender though richly sweet. There is no heaviness to her and the notes are elegantly, beautifully blended.
Now, ET Bronze is NOT a dupe for either of the other fragrances that I referenced, but there are elements which remind me of both, in only the best ways.
I feel that if you like Shalimar Souffle eau de parfum (sweet, light citrus) and MMM Replica Lipstick On (powdery heliotrope/violet) then you will almost certainly like Ellen Tracy Bronze as well.
Scent: 9.5/10 easily. I think that if you like unapologetically sweet fragrances as well as distinctly powdery scents, ET Bronze is a no-brainer.
Longevity: moderate or better (she lasts longer on textiles and in hair)
Sillage: Soft to moderate, I find this one impossible to over-spray.
Value: 10/10 are you serious? This fragrance smells like $$$ but costs mere chump-change.
I’m SO grateful to have received this in a generous swap and credit Fragrantica for the knowledge of Ellen Tracy Bronze’s existence.
12-1-2017: Edited to add: The bottle is tacky although I find the iridescence attractive. Fortunately, I don’t wear the bottle, just the juice inside.
Call me crazy (and I am) but I find Ellen Tracy Bronze to be completely signature-scent worthy. She’s absolutely breath-taking and very, very high quality!!! If the rest of the modern fragrances performed like this one does, none of us would ever be disappointed. I love this one so much, in fact, that I have already ordered a 3.4 ounce bottle with the lotion and shower gel! What an incredible find she is.
To me, Ellen Tracy Bronze is pure gold!!!

This is really a gem. I get a lot of orange blossom and amber. Its truly a nice perfume and so so cheap. Its def sweet so if you are not a sweet or gourmand person I would steer clear & give Exotic Bronze a try, its just as cheap and a very pretty long lasting floral. I did not expect to like this so much. Good longevity and sillage. Based on the qualty of the 2 Ellen Tracy perfumes I have tried im excited to try more, especially at how cheap they are.

On myself this is really strong. It smells like Lemon Pledge furniture polish. Does anyone else smell that?? I assume it doesn’t click with my chemistry. It’s a shame because this fragrance is very inexpensive, and it does have good sillage and longevity.

This is really cute, cuddly and a little fun. It reminds me of the ride home after a day trip to the beach. Contented, warm, a little sleepy with dry warm clothes and wet hair…sunblock, sand, cookie crumbs, some sticky lemon candies or spilled lemonade. I’m enjoying it fully.

I bought the set and upon first spraying didn’t care for it so I gave the bottle to my daughter. I kept the rollerball (just in case). It has been a year now since trying it and I decided to try again today. All I get is powder (and that’s one of my most disliked notes). It’s like an old talc powder or baby powder with maybe a distant underlying baby lotion scent. I wish I loved it like others do, or at least liked it enough to occasionally wear it

  33. :

Looking through all the reviews, it seems the general consensus is
    1) Everyone blind bought this at Marshalls/Ross/TJMaxx for $7/$10$12 etc etc
    2) It smells like something else….and that something else is all over the place!
    3) Everyone is decently pleased with the purchase
So I will add to this. I also blind bought this at TJMaxx and it smells just
Like Bath and Body works Japanese Cherry Blossom. And I am also pleased
    With the purchase

  34. :

    5 out of 5

I see the wonderful reviews for Bronze and I look at the notes and I keep thinking, I should love this. But every time I did this bottle out and try it, I am stunned by how awful it is.
I greatly enjoy the first whiff. It smells just like L’oreal lipstick in the ’80s. It’s a happy memory and it seems so promising. It keeps that lipstick scent and adds lime peel. Not juice, just the peel And hamster shavings. The shavings blossom to the smell of damp shavings.
I have tried it in different seasons. I have tried different application points. I have tried applying it to clothes. And it’s just yucky.
I keep throwing it back in the closet in hopes that some lucky day, I will smell what everyone else smells. Meanwhile, my arm is ruined because I have once again tried it and once again I can’t scrub it off. It will be a long smelly day

Soft, inoffensive and close to the skin.
I think this is an absolute bargain for the small price !
It is a simple scent, clean and fresh , a bit bitter at first it turns into a warm cozy snuggle scent that is hard to over spray .
Powdery yet a bit ‘beachy” .I think it is safe choice to give to anyone as a gift as well.
Sillage and longevity are below average on me.

Shocking I know but this blind TJMaxx buy reminds me of Valentina Poudre, which I bought but returned because on me it vanished in minutes. Bronze has a lovely powdery effect as well as great citrus notes. A bit of floral… and I’m becoming aware that amber is a big draw for me. I’ve learned I love the amber effect. I love Bronze. Inexpensive yes. Cheap? No! Chic adorable frag.

I bought this blindly at my local Marshall’s tonight and I must say that I am pretty pleased. My initial reaction was “this smells a little too much like Marshmallow” however the lemon nots are growing on me. All in all I am happy with my purchase…especially since I only paid $6.99 for EDP.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

Wow! I don’t know “notes” like some of the experts here, but this really develops into something beautiful after the initial lemony blast. Why is it so inexpensive? Even compared to the other reasonably priced Ellen Tracy perfumes? There were several 3.4 oz bottles today at Marshall’s for $6.99.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

Mmmmm…Lemon meringue pie. Warm, sweet and soft. For the incredibly affordable price, it is worth trying. It is great for any time of year and any time of the day. Bronze is just a warm, cozy delight.

  40. :

I don’t care how cheap this is. I’m just not a fan at all. I somehow expected more than alcohol and old dry dusting powder with a tad bit of spice.

  41. :

    3 out of 5

This is one of those strange scents that everyone smells differently. I don’t get a lot of citrus at all ,mostly creamy warm white florals, the whole beachy tropical vibe. It’s powdery, yes but not overly so and its not the baby powder type to me. But as I said, everyone has their own impressions of this one. I think it’s a great summery scent and also nice for the continuing hot weather we are having in Arizona as September ends.

  42. :

Soft lemony flowers. Plush and warm. GREAT sillage. Good basic fragrance to have.

  43. :

    3 out of 5

The olfactory equivalent to a soft, cuddly blanket. Calming, soft, happy fragrance. Heliotrope, coumarin, and amber shine in Bronze.
I deleted my original review…. Something strange happened, and my initial dislike for Bronze has morphed into a love. I wore it to work the other day, and at the end of a 10 hour day, it smelled like powdered almond cookies on my shirt. Just lovely. There are no sharp edges to this.
It really has many stages. At first it is lemony-vanilla and has a thick feel. I don’t really know how to describe that. Then, about an hour later, it becomes powdery- a bit vanilla and woodsy, soft. Maybe that’s heliotrope.
This has good, moderate sillage- but not too much, which is work appropriate. I think the amber and coumarin are lending to the fantastic powdered vanilla sweet dry down which honestly lasts for ages!!
Sorry, Bronze, I just didn’t “get” you at first for some reason- so glad I do now. Plus, this was under $10 for a 3.4 oz. Look for it at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. This is the only perfume for which I have an actual back-up bottle. Won’t be running out of Bronze, ever!!!!

I had to review this for a second time. Since my first review I’ve had the pleasure of trying all kinds of perfumes Niche and higher end. I even developed somewhat of a “snobby” nose because after collecting for awhile, you sometimes can pick out the higher end fragrances as they seem to sometimes just smell better. I must tell you that Bronze is an exception to the rule. Don’t write this one off as a cheapo scent. It smells way more expensive then it is. If someone put fragrances in front of me and blindfolded me, I would have suspected this was a high end perfume. It’s got striking similarities to Tom Ford’s Violet Blonde. The big difference between the two is Bronze is cleaner less animalic where as TF has a bit of a dirty girl thing going. I do like TF better but i’ve got to say this one is without doubt a damn good perfume. Lasting power and projection are quite good also.
I sprayed this on at night before bed and it is still there although faint.. present! Not many of the higher end ones do this. 😉

  45. :

I have it and I use this overpowdery mess to scent linens and furniture around the house. It seems to be fine for that, but I wouldn’t go out in public with this on. I do smell a trace of Balenciaga Paris about it, but a very poor man’s version of it.(just so no one gets too excited about that comment and buys it thinking “someone compared it to Balenciaga Paris” !! I wouldn’t want to do wrong to anyone. ( BTW ,I have B. Paris and am proud to wear that one out….)

What a beautiful surprise, on skin this smells very powdery, similar to
valentino poudre or balenciaga b skin.
The only difference is this is a little warmer and has a hint of citrus.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

This is a really great scent and it reminds me of a more affordable and possibly longer lasting version of Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Heavenly. This is a very nice skin scent for summer. I am surprised to see citrus as the first note for this fragrance. I completely agree with emt1986’s description: a nice beachy vibe without smelling like sunscreen or a tropical drink. When I bought this I was expecting a similar scent to EL Bronze Goddess, but no–it is definitely not. Overall, this is a great, soft, powdery skin-scent for summer. The most prominent notes for me are amber, powder, and sweet floral.

Found it in the bargain bin at TJ Maxx. Liked it until it dried down. Afterwards I couldn’t get it off my arm fast enough. Don’t think I am a fan of amber. Back it goes.

Amber, heliotrope, and citrus are a wonderful combination! Bronze is sunny and sweet, a nice beachy vibe without smelling like sunscreen or a tropical drink. Moderate sillage and longevity on me. It’s not particularly cutting-edge, but it’s a great grab for the price ($6 for 100 mL, I think?) if you run across it. I personally love the tacky bottle.

I am in love with this!!!!! Reminds me of ester lauder sensuous nude without the pencil shaving smell…mom think the violets help curb the woodsy scent. Ofs also stronger than sensuous nude. ….also has reminiscence of Tom Ford violet blond…….but seriously this is better the. Both of those. It smells absolutely DIVINE. This is a woman’s fragrance not for girls. Omg. Its so good. Has some of a powedery feeling too….like loreal lipstick used to smell as someone pointed out. This smells refined and comfortable. …so amazing. I would wear this to the beach the office shopping at home anywhere. I bet it smells amazing in the sun. This smells like a fancy beautiful place that is natural and sparkles.I love it

    5.99 blind buy at Marshalls.
First spray I thought, no wonder. Lemony baby wipes.
Minutes later, light lemon, powdery vanilla, and something very dry – the cedar or violets. Very nice. Comparable to infusion d’iris dry down, but a bit sweeter.
It certainly doesn’t smell like it was 5.99. I will use this in the Spring and on cool summer nights. If I see it again, I’ll pick it up.
    No regrets 🙂

I really enjoy Ellen Tracy Bronze! What a lovely fragrance! I love tonka bean, lemons and heliotrope so this is a real winner for me!
I can’t believe how long this fragrance lasts. Such a great value. For my tastes, this scent is wonderful. I enjoy fragrances that offer noticeable phases. For me, it’s fun to experience a fragrance that encompasses a top, middle and base transition. Bronze gives me a great experience for more than 10 hours.
The opening is a lovely, sweet green citrus. The bergamot reminds me of tea, the lemonade provides a great sweet/sour tang. And the apple smells wonderfully like apple peelings.
Within 15 min, my body’s chemistry gives the violet leaf such presence. Velvety and green. Really addicting with the lemonade. Then the honeysuckle and orange blossom give me that tea feeling again! So amazing! So beautiful! Delicately sweet, too.
Finally, the dry down blooms into warm, vanilla cedar wood. When the citrus meets the cedar wood, they illuminate the best qualities of each.
I love Bronze in the summertime when I sunbathe and lounge. I will continue to purchase this and wear it seasonally.

I really don’t understand why this is named “Bronze”….It’s lemon then straight up loud sweet violets. No beach, metal or sun tan to be found. Just an amped out Balenciaga without any of the subleties. Very strong , lasts for days on clothes and survives the shower on skin. My 3.4oz bargain bottle will last a lifetime.

I got this perfume in a sampler 4-pack, and this is definitely my favorite. Bronze reminds me of a perfume a friend once gave me called Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels…I think it was the heavenly scent from the dream angels collection. Anyhow, Bronze is a very nice, powdery skin scent for me. I really like it, and I think it would be a good summer scent more than anything. Feminine and pretty, and I love it!

My usual. I always use Fragrantica to check out perfumes I’m interested in to see what the reviews are and the individual scents that make up the perfume. I did a blind buy on Ellen Tracy Bronze. I really like it. It’s not harsh. It’s soft I can smell it as I move about. I am picking up powdery lemon, vanilla, amber, heliotrope and bergamot f
